it’s a great time to be a nascar fan

43d ago

i know nascar’s marketing has been trying to lean into its pre-90s fanbase but the recent push to get back into the mainstream needs to be appreciated. if you live in a big city or the suburbs of one (like me near los angeles), you can buy clothing at aeropostale, then go to target to buy diecasts (yes ik lionel is hit-or-miss with qc), and then come back home to play nascar 25 off the playstation store. as someone that became a fan of this sport at two years old in 2004 during the height of the boom period in nascar’s peak, this such a cool thing to see. this is the nascar i grew-up with 20 years ago. hopefully the daytona 500, and rest of the 2026 campaign, can get the sport back to...

Every Brand You Loved as a Kid...

**Authentic Brands Group** owns dozens of brands (most actually) that once competed in malls: clothing, shoes, department-store names, lifestyle labels.  Many of them are no longer manufacturers in any meaningful sense. They are just intellectual property portfolios of logos, trademarks, nostalgia ...licensed out to whoever can monetize them this quarter. *Aeropostale, JC Penny's, Nautica, JNY, Brooks Brothers, Juicy, Rockport, Champion, Eddie Bauer, Geoffrey Beene, Izod, RVCA, Lucky, Guess etc.* What makes it more complete is the ownership structure: Authentic Brands Group is co-owned by major mall real estate operators, including firms that own or control the shopping centers th...

Fashion Fair strolling on Black Friday - 1st time

121d ago

I have only ever gone Black Friday shopping a couple times at Walmart back before the COVID days and man it was an event. What about at a mall? That's what I did today, some Black Friday "shopping" (more like strolling around for a couple hours) with family at Fashion Fair, because there is a first time for everything. My god it was packed to **** and back. I entered from the Macy's entrance on Fresno St. and I have never seen that side's parking lot essentially fully packed until today, even on the busy weekends. The mall was no better, as there were tons of people in there, buying clothes, appliances, jewelry, etc. Started at Macy's, then walked out to the E...

2000s a&f and hollister vibe question!

141d ago

hey everyone, for my marketing class, i'm doing a research project on 2000's retail advertising and wanted to ask anyone who has shopped there during the 2000's what the vibe was like of both stores? compared to other existing retail brands at the time like american eagle/aeropostale/hot topic, were a&f and hollister like the exclusive, "cool kid" brands? i kind of want to get first hand look at what your experiences might have been like so if anyone has any insight on the cultural perception and general clothing style + vibe similarities/differences, i would greatly appreciate it!! post update as i can't comment (due to being less then 30 days old): th...

Thrifting in Japan

156d ago

I'm going to Japan next month for the first time. I’m a big fan of thrifting and really into vintage clothes. Like Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, Aeropostale, American Eagle, Ed Hardy, Paul Frank, and Coach. I was hoping someone could help me find thrift stores in Japan that carry those kinds of clothes. Please let me know!!

I just need to rant about this to people who might actually understand.

I went shopping yesterday, really need some new jeans. I have been wearing hollister jeans since I was in about 9th grade, that’s really been my go-to jean place because they were always small enough for me. I’m 24 now. I also weigh the most I’ve ever weighed in my life (94 lbs). So you can imagine in 9th grade I was a freaking TWIGGG. When I first started wearing hollister jeans I could wear a size 0 and they fit amazing. I tried on a 000R yesterday (I’m 5’1”). They were the bootcut style. Tell me why they were extremely baggy, and almost came up to my ankles??? All of my jeans from there are 000R and they fit great. Suddenly everything is huge. I also have a pair of hand me dow...

I'm tired. My soul is just so ******* tired, you guys.

182d ago

I have been really overwhelmed lately, there isn't a single day where someone in my family doesn't have something going on. Dr's appointments, psych appointments, orthodontist appointments, sport practices, travelling games, therapy, playdates, school events, family events... it just never ends. It's nonstop. And in between all of that, I'm working a 9-5 (hybrid, 2 days in office), and trying to keep the house tidy, laundry clean, and everyone fed. Oh and I have a huge 1yo GSD puppy that takes up a lot of time & energy. In the last 18 months I've lost 90lbs, but in the past month, I have fallen off the wagon so hard. I haven't been working out and I...

I got no sleep last night so i rewrote Jeff the killer (changes listed at the end)

210d ago

Excerpt from a local Newspaper: UNKNOWN KILLER IS STILL AT LARGE. *‘After weeks of unexplained murders, the killer is still on the rise. We have managed to secure an interview with the only person who has survived an attack, a 7 year old boy.* I had a bad dream and I woke up in the middle of the night, said the boy. I saw that my window was open, even though I remember closing before I went to bed. I got up and shut it. Then I went under my covers and tried to go back to sleep. That's when I heard a weird noise, like a tapping on the window. I looked up, and almost jumped out of my bed. In the little bit of light between my curtains, were a pair of two eyes. They were dark. They we...

I’m over clothes shopping

230d ago

So ever since high school, I have always ***** clothes shopping. I love certain stores, but my mom always pressures me to venture out to other clothes styles than my typical shirts and leggings. I love sweaters but every time I try to get one, my mom either says I have to wear a tank top under it or that it’s too old lady for me. Tonight, we went to my favorite clothing store, Aeropostale, and I really wanted to get some new T-shirts because I love them and the prices are amazing. But of course, my mom had to say, “Don’t you have some of those already?” My family always knows how to sway me into listening to them. My mom grabbed some things for me to try on, and I agreed to. When we ...

Want To Sell Entire Whatnot Biz Clothing Inventory (in NC) ASAP, Where's BEST PLACE TO Advertise??

231d ago

I'm in NC and want to advertise & sell all of my Whatnot clothing inventory ASAP. Is there somewhere online that other WN sellers advertise & sell their biz/inventory?? I have seen FB Messenger groups for people to buy/sell pallets but nothing for the small seller who wants to let it all go to a new startup or other seller. I have 1000-1500 pieces, mainly new clothing/jeans from Aeropostale, Forever 21. Numerous nicer mall brand single items, new with tags from Isabel Marant, Victoria Beckham, Hilfiger, Nautica, Free People etc. There's less than 100 like new pre-owned pieces. Also some new to like new shoes. There's also several large bins of fuzzy "Sneak...

Outgrowing teen stores

240d ago

I know Hollister, Aeropostale, Pacsun, American Eagle, Aerie and Brandy Melville aren’t only teen stores. But I shop at these places for clothes. Do yall still shop there or in the junior section of the store. I feel like I will forever buy clothes from these places due to being only 5’1 and only like 107 pounds. I do want to gain more weight for health reasons. And the fact it’s hard to find dressy clothes. Because so many things fit big even the xs in the “women’s area”. It doesn’t help that Im picky. I just graduated and finished an internship recently. And I am looking for professional wear and jobs. Since I only own 3 slacks and 3 blouses. I got lucky that the internship ...

Preferably a store that has brick and mortar stores in the US. I'm about to give up. I'm 4'11, 30 years old, and I feel like I've tried everywhere the last couple of years. I just want a basic t shirt that I can wear around the house and go on walks in without being too hot. I don't want to buy online because I'm tired of playing the shipping return game. Oh, and why is everything sewn crookedly now? And slub knit, I **** slub knit. I used to be able to find clothes at these stores: \-H&M - everything feels plastic and and is cropped now \-Target - slightly better on fabric end, but either too big, cropped, or has childish graphics on it \-Aeroposta...

The Centre at Salisbury 2025 update

302d ago

Contrary to these pictures, the place doesn’t seem to be doing that bad. Every store that was open seemed to be doing well. Boscov’s had a bunch of people in there. The FYE closed back in January and now has a clothing store in that location. This mall still has the following chain stores: Hot Topic, Spencer’s, Bath and Body Works, White Barn, Hollister (with the beach hut looking theme), Aeropostale, Claire’s, Victoria’s Secret, and Earthbound Trading. Anchor stores include: Boscov’s, Burlington/Homegoods, Dicks, and the Movie Theater. The food court was quite busy, with I think seven open stalls, including a Chick-fil-a! We ended up eating at the Japanese place. The teriya...

Friend body shaming me for years

316d ago

So AIO? I’ve (F20) have known this girl (F20) since we were 6-7. We were childhood friends. We went to the same school but in early middle school, I ended up going to a different school, and didn’t see her in school, but occasionally we hung out on weekends. All throughout middle school I weighed 113-115 lbs and have always been 5’2” 1/2. As highschool started, I was still in the weight range. It wasn’t until 11th grade where I weighed 120 lbs. Anyways, in 7th grade my parents had requested my school to this girl and her family. The last time she saw me, I was a little chubby (shorter but the same weight, plus when I was 8-10 I was wearing an adult small shirt). When this g...

So recently they announced they’re merging discounts with other stores in the company like Aeropostale and lucky brand, does anyone know how to use it? I work at jcp but wanted to buy some clothes from aero but I’m not sure how to do so. Has anyone done it yet?
