Hey folks, I’m torn between the 2024 Hisense U8Q (Mini LED) and the Panasonic Z80 OLED. I'm in the UK and both are roughly £1000-1100 (my max budget) for a 65". Most of my serious TV watching is at night, but I do game on a PS5 and my flat gets quite bright during the day. I know the reviews are mixed but I bought them specifically for the noise cancellation when commuting. I've tried them out and found that when 'Noise Cancellation' mode is selected I can hear a constant background static-like noise, like distant traffic or rushing water. I just noticed this today (I hope it comes across in the photo). It’s like that at the top of the screen until about halfway, and then it’s perfectly straight (normal). It didn’t used to be like this. I’ve just run a full pixel clean and it hasn’t resolved the issue. The TV is 55” CS model, still under a 5 year protection plan with John Lewis (UK store).

A few weeks ago I went to a JL store and asked about a chair that’s always out of stock online. The staff member informed me that the chair that I want is handmade by a small company and they only produce a small quantity of the chairs which sell out quickly and that’s why I always miss the stock online. He told me that he could place me an order in store for the item that’s out of stock and before it comes back in stock online I’ll receive an email of its availability and be able to pay and organise delivery before it even goes live online.
