One of my friends will be visiting Hong Kong soon for work (work abroad) and they would like to see China during one of the weekends! I've tried to check on the info on this updated visa policy but it all seems quite confusing and I'm not sure who to validate with so would like to seek help with all of you! Noting the key points below: - Mexican Passport holder (Which I think is elligible?) - Traveling FROM UK to Hong Kong, staying for about a month until they return back to UK - They would like to visit to China SHENZHEN for a weekend (2-3 days) after hearing how close and fun it could be! - They are inclined to travel via land (mtr, train, bullet train) or by ferry... Got terminated from my first job at 19 — full-time student, what now?42m agoHi everyone, I’m 19 and a full-time college student. I was just terminated from my first job at Amazon Fresh for exceeding my UPT (attendance points). I got the official termination letter and a bunch of post-employment info, but I’m honestly not sure what to do next. A few things I’m wondering: * Can I apply for unemployment in California as a student? * Will this affect my chances of getting hired elsewhere (like Whole Foods or other retail jobs)? * Should I mention this job on my resume? * Any advice on how to move forward, especially balancing work and school? Appreciate any help or advice. Just trying to get back on my feet and learn from this. Thanks. 12th Boards from 8 November😭,help46m agothis is the end🫡 I watched stand up in Saudi Arabia - What the surreal Riyadh Comedy Festival foretold about the kingdom’s future1h ago(The Atlantic) Sometimes you have to ask yourself: How did I get here—sitting in Saudi Arabia, listening to Louis C.K. do jokes about Barely Legal magazine? Honestly, I thought it would be funny. The instant I heard about the Riyadh Comedy Festival, I pleaded with the editor of this magazine to send me. Despite a series of legal reforms over the past decade, Saudi Arabia remains one of the most conservative Muslim societies in the world, while Louis C.K. is famous for his foul mouth and his record of masturbating in front of a succession of unimpressed women. A match made in heaven! My boss suggested that I take a male chaperone, which would allow me to move more freely in a place that r... Dog won't eat anything even after treatment1h agoI'm based in the UK dog in question is a cocker Spaniel and she is approaching 11 months old and despite us knowing she has a kidney infection due to genetics and such and gave her antibiotics, later phantom pregnancy treatment and also liquid food with appetite stimulants to try and encourage her appetite. We even looked at ultrasound screening if there was anything internally blocking a digestive tract however there was nothing. All treatment so far hasn't worked and she still hasn't eaten in 7 days with £3000 of insurance down the drain. Is there anything else that I can do because I don't know if my dad could take the loss. Most Common United States Grocery Chain Per State1h agoSource: Caliper Corporation Shoplifting food at a grocery store (large retail chain)1h ago**Hi everyone.** My acquaintance (an adult) stole some food at a grocery store (large retail chain). A security guard caught him (1st time). The guard asked for ID (he didn’t provide it, but he did pay for some items with a debit card, so there’s a transaction trail), checked his backpack, found unpaid food, and said that if the total were over 100 CAD he would arrest him. They went to the checkout, the cashier scanned everything, and the total was under 100 CAD. The guard then took a photo of him and the receipt, gave a verbal trespass for all FreshCo locations, and said, “I’m giving you one chance—go.” **Question:** He doesn’t care about the trespass. But he stole food few... Birthday ideas for my sister (student in Florence) - fun experiences or events before the new year?1h agoHey everyone - I’m based in the UK but my sister recently moved to Florence for uni, and her birthday’s coming up. I’d love to surprise her with something fun or memorable to do in the city, ideally an experience or event happening anytime between now and the end of the year. She’s a student in her early 20s, into art, music, food, adventurous activities (e.g wakeboarding) and exploring new places. Would love any recommendations for: • Upcoming events, gigs, or exhibitions • Adventurous activities (active) • Hidden gems or local experiences students actually enjoy • Anything festive or seasonal later in the year Basically, something that’ll make her feel more at ... Prolific please help!1h agoProlific, would someone please be kind enough to DM me on here and help me out with an ongoing issue that keeps going round and round in circles with support who reply with inaccurate information, and then when I reply to tell them its inaccurate I never hear back and have to constantly re-raise it! Started completing SPG studies and then have not seen one now since January! Updates were made to Prolific’s back end when trying to combat scripts and demand issues and myself and a number of others stopped seeing any SPG ... We’re looking to go away in the first/ second week of January for a short-ish trip from London, to escape one of the most bleak work weeks of the year! I think it’s important to say from the start that our main interest is food. We generally love a place with beautiful historic architecture, and it’s a bonus if it’s a walkable city, although that’s not a deal breaker. Also, we’re not going to be doing anything too expensive. My first thought was Spain, maybe Madrid/ Barcelona to see all the Three Kings festivities and parades on the 5th. I only chose those because I’ve heard that they have the biggest carnivals, but would go anywhere so long as there’s great tapas a... Need 2 borrow until Wednesday 22nd at 4pm. Baby girl is almost 14 months, and at our recent 1-year review (might just be a UK thing, unsure), our pediatric lady asked if she was getting 3 meals and 2 snacks every day -- I said she gets 3 meals but we never really do snacks, she still breastfeeds a few times a day alongside breakfast lunch and dinner, but I'd like that to start tapering off soon (I am tiiiired, but happy to do 1 feed a day up to 2 years as per WHO recommendation). SO, to my point, what is everyone doing for snacks? I've not really gone for crackers or anything as I've tried to stay away from the more "processed" foods, so are we out here just throwing berries and cheese at em? Recommen... (Lodger) still waiting on deposit. Deposit not protected. Being ignored about timeline or intended date of return.3h agoHi everyone, I was considered a lodger for about a year during my tenancy. I left the room in pristine condition; everything worked, I did a walkthrough with my landlord and he said everything was ok, no deductions. He then told me that his wife, who was not on my written agreement, would ‘sort’ my deposit which is over £1000. He was overly lax and and uncaring about even doing a walkthrough, as if I was inconveniencing him the day I left. When discussing the deposit return - he essentially put this on his wife (who wasnt present) and acted like we were discussing £5… Some extra context: - my landlord actually stopped living at this property about 2 months into me living there. he ... What interviewers really want is to see that you understand the *reality* of working in healthcare: that medicine doesn’t happen in a vacuum, and that the NHS operates in a complex, overstretched system trying to do the right thing with limited resources. Below is a breakdown of the key NHS and public health issues that come up again and again. Each section explains the problem, gives real-world context, and a short TL;DR so you can remember it under pressure. # Ageing Population ... Scientists say cannabis is key to helping cancer patients bounce back3h ago# A new drug could help cancer patients avoid dangerous weight loss. A [cannabis](https://www.express.co.uk/latest/cannabis)\-based drug that harnesses “the munchies” could help [cancer](https://www.express.co.uk/latest/cancer) patients increase their body weight, according to scientists. Around 80% of advanced cancer patients suffer from a debilitating wasting syndrome, cachexia, which leads to loss of muscle mass. British biotech company Artelo Biosciences has created an experimental drug that harnesses a phenomenon known as the munchies, where the drug improves appetite and enhances flavour. It uses ...
