Asda Rewards - Baffling!!!

4d ago

I’m just a customer who is getting more and more disillusioned with Asda as a company. I get that they really don’t want to push the rewards but as a 70 year old how do you think I feel that the only two Rewards options on my app are on Nappies and Gym Equipment! Asda - if you are using targeted marketing please sack whoever you have doing it.

What’s really going on with the FCC drone ban?

6d ago

Our team just spent a week in Washington, meeting with U.S. government officials. In the past few weeks we've heard the same thing you probably did: • “Our equipment won’t be available” • “We won’t get replacement parts” • “Firmware updates will be blocked” • “Foreign drones are basically illegal now” That’s not what actually happened. On December 22, 2025, the FCC expanded its Covered List to include foreign-manufactured drones and critical components. This was the first time an entire product category—not just specific brands—was restricted. That sounds dramatic. But the real impact is more subtle—and more important. I'm sharing th...

Rejections, Rejections, Rejections

I have been applying to jobs non-stop for the last 4 months. I got like 4 interviews after passing initial assessments with no success. I have all the proof of all my work portfolio/references/grades etc, but still no luck. Can people from the hiring team give a constructive feedback on the resume?

I’m Planning Weight Loss & Honestly Looking for the Best GLP-1 Provider

8d ago

Hi everyone 👋 I’m planning to start my weight-loss journey and I want to do it safely and properly, not by taking risks with random sellers online. I’ve been seeing a lot of provider names floating around, so I’m trying to understand which ones are actually trusted and human-led, not just marketing machines. From what I’ve learned so far, the genuine UK providers people usually talk about are Boots, ASDA Online Doctor, N u man, s h e m e d Lloyds Pharmacy Online Doctor. All of them require a consultation and medical checks, which feels reassuring. What I’m really looking for now is the best overall experience a provider that’s reliable, supportive, and transparent, especi...

Realty Income (O): Is it worth it?

8d ago

# Summary: **What it is:** Blue-chip net-lease REIT (mostly triple-net) with huge scale, broad tenant diversification, and investment-grade balance sheet. **What you’re really buying:** A 5.5%+ monthly dividend plus low-to-mid single digit AFFO growth, with returns heavily influenced by rates / cost of capital. **Setup today:** Valuation looks compressed versus much of its recent history (P/FFO \~13–14x), which improves margin of safety if rates don’t spike again and O can keep deploying capital at attractive spreads. # Business model Realty Income buys freestanding single-tenant properties and leases them out on long contracts where the tenant pays most operating costs (taxes, in...

Where have all the vegan options gone?

23d ago

First of all I want to say all your vegan Christmas dinners look bangin, well done. I'm a dual US/UK citizen who moved to a rural town in 2021. One of the reasons I wanted to move back again was the outrageous amount of vegan options EVERYWHERE! I remember getting a Christmas sandwich at a Costa drive thru on a road trip! Now in my small town, there is one hosin "duck" wrap at M&S a ham and cheese at Costa, one "chicken" Caesar wrap at ASDA and that's about it! What happened! Is everyone just eating at home now? What do you eat when you're out and about in rural England and want to grab a bite to eat? Is it to do with vegans not wanting fast food...

Do you get any additional rate for working Christmas Day?

33d ago

I’m new to Asda and I’m looking on the shift market and can see two shifts for Christmas Day. Since Xmas doesn’t mean too much to me, I was thinking of booking it but I don’t wanna be overloaded with a busy shift for nothing when I could just book a different day. Do you get double or at least time and a half for working 25th December? I heard about a “thank you” payment but I have no idea how much this could be. Thanks!

Unable to reduce fixed costs, need help!

39d ago

HI Everyone, Really need help - lately I have been unable to save or do anything. I know it's also partly because there have been some back to back out of budget expenses and now I am really struggling. Some examples; I had to renew my visa (used investments £3.1K) then applied for my wife's VISA (0% Credit Card £4.5K), Some home stuff, exams' fee, flights, etc. I had to take advantage of billing cycles so the expense for that month doesn't go above the total salary. I clear my cards monthly except the )5 credit card. Reading Budget guides and different posts, I feel my fixed costs are really high and I am unable to put any money down in savings or investments. I w...

How alien of a culture can you make the magical world to the muggles before it either becomes completely unbelievable th...

42d ago

What I mean by that is, where the purebloods or half-bloods that live in the magical world go off and do something and the muggleborns, or at least the new first years, as the older students would have seen this a few times, are just absolutely confused as to why everyone goes and does this? Because there are a ton of examples from people having cultural whiplash when interacting with something this different. Like people from Europe going on vacation to America and walking into a Walmart for the first time. Like, sure you guy have supermarkets, but your ASDA is like the size of the smaller Neighborhood Market Walmarts, not a Super Store. And that's just a big grocery store. But you f...

Mince Pricing from 2017

I built a browser extension to find the best value groceries and I am stuck on marketing like most people.

51d ago

I’ve always ***** how UK supermarkets make it hard to see which product is the best value. Supermarkets often show the same items in different sizes, but don’t let you sort by price per unit, and then when they do, they ignore special offers. I built a browser extension that automatically sorts every product on the page by price per unit, including special offers. It currently only works on Tesco, Asda and Morrisons. I need to add more. I am stuck on the part where i think most people get stuck. The marketing. I am trying to grow organically through SEO. Does my website look professional or like a child made it? [https://valuesort.co.uk/](https://valuesort.co.uk/) Any good...

Pringles never being on sale is bonkers

52d ago

Looking to get some Pringles as a treat whilst typing this and doing my shop and it occurred to me that when I was in America a couple of years ago our cousins love their sales over there and their marketing tricks. Regular Pringles price cut down to their actual price to trick you into thinking you're getting the snack food deal of the century but here? Nothing. I've never seen Pringles on sale anywhere in at least a decade. Morrisons, Asda, Co-op etc have sales of course but never for Pringles...why? Have they suddenly become a luxury snack item alongside those overpriced kettlechips you get at hotel bars and I missed the memo on this? Release the Pringles damnit.

Money problems?

52d ago

Hi! Not sure how this works and it’s the first time I’m posting on here. But if there’s any millionaires or billionaires out there reading this that would like to help a girl out that would be great and very very appreciated!! Especially during this festive period……. I’m a 35 year old with 2 kids living in the north east of England. I’m a business owner and a nurse. How is it then that I’m just about making ends meet! I have a retail business where I employ 3 staff. I have no issues with that as that money is helping someone else put food on their table and that money gets circulated back into the economy. I do my bit in the business and do shifts as well as looking aft...

Asda turnaround derailed by bungled £1bn IT overhaul - Financial Times

52d ago

Struggling UK supermarket chain Asda said its turnaround plan was running six months behind schedule after sales were hit by another spell of severe disruption stemming from a £1bn-plus IT overhaul. The private equity owned retailer said on Friday that the completion of a huge multiyear project to transition away from systems run by its previous owner Walmart had resulted in a shortage of groceries on its shelves. The disruption contributed to a 2.8 per cent drop in Asda’s like-for-like sales in the third quarter. The problems mark a further setback for Asda, which is seeking to recover some of the substantial market share losses it has suffered since being taken private in 2021 by pr...

The monkey btw is from a marketing thing Jammie dodgers did in 2011/12 where they had toffee and chocolate flavours They used monkey puppets in the ads and made plushies that were sold in places like Tesco or Asda They’re so stupidly rare, not cause they’re valuable, but cause no one gives a **** about them Anyway autistic infodump over, be safe besties 🫶

Black Friday: Alan Bradshaw on the danger of mass consumerism

55d ago

# Mass consumerism is destroying our planet. This Black Friday, let’s take a stand In 2008 a Walmart worker was trampled to death by crowds at a Black Friday shop opening in New York. The event was one of a handful of incidents that became emblematic of that distinctly American occasion. Black Friday, which takes place today, still registers as the busiest shopping day of the year in the US. https://preview.redd.it/q04umv5tlh3g1.jpg?width=3679&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc6ff6118a72b1f21a62d26276de4f0d427f6d08 But in recent years, shopping aisles in the UK have started to tremble too. Black Friday, once only seen by Britons when watching US television shows, is a re...
