My local Aldi kinda ***** so I wasn’t able to find a few items that were important to my meal prepping this week (Sweet potatoes, blueberries, green beans) but I’ll manage. It’s split between two people. We get most of our produce at the farmers market and have a fairly stocked freezer for meat and fish, and my roommate’s mom gave us a ton of pasta and rice after Christmas so we haven’t had to buy any of that for the month. The applesauce, instant rice, tuna, garlic powder, and onion powder is all for a “free little pantry” in my neighborhood. I like to dedicate $5-10 towards it each week now that I’m in a slightly better financial situation vs last year.

Did you know despite being in 20 countries Walmart has failed to establish its self in Europe most notably Germany. German workers found the constant forced smiling and forced Walmart chant very off putting and weird leading to large turn over rates. Can't say they are wrong if you watch videos of the Walmart cheer it's wild I couldn't do it. Workers also found the constant spying on coworkers and rules against dating coworkers a invasion of privacy. The biggest reason however is that Aldis had already established itself and the retail market in Germany is growing very slowly compared to other countries.

We are in Collier county FL and there are 20 Publix in the metro area, all doing a pretty good job of holding dog owners to the policy stated on signage right at the doors: *Service dogs only.* In the supermarket space here, there is really no competition for Publix. I don't consider the few Fresh Markets, the one Trader Joe's, the one Whole Foods, or the single-location locally owned markets competition. They occupy a completely different space in the foods arena. Aldi also. The only other is WalMart, that competes with Publix, and we've at least half a dozen supercenters, all of which have no policy about dogs, and customers take in all kinds and sizes, mostly small do...

I’m out of work too late for all the farmer’s markets today, so which Grocery Store has the best produce? Gucci Kroger? Earth Fare? Fresh Market? Aldi? Chef Store? I have grown increasingly grossed out by what our grocery stores carry for food options and the high levels of chemicals, antibiotics and such that are increasingly entering our food sources. That said, where I live in the Midwest limits what stores I can shop and feel good about my purchases. So I live in a town/city in the South with a population of 30k people. Sounds great right? Let me give you some insight into the place.. It's a military city/town. Nearly all of the people are military related. You cannot find legitimate work unless it is on base usually. We have 1 Walmart, multiple liquor stores, multiple churches, and tons of minimum wage jobs at places like McDonald's or Applebee's. There is 0 ZERO economic growth in this place. Shopping at the Aldi at 46th and Market is always an experience. Today, there weren’t any carts available outside, but there was a man in the produce aisle offering customers the opportunity to “rent” one of the several carts he was holding or pay him to push a cart while they shopped or wait in line so they could check out more quickly. Bring your quarters, everyone.

Looking for a place to get good quality meat for a good price. Bonus if it is local meat. I have heard East Dayton Meat Market is a good option but looking for something closer to me, perhaps south of Dayton. I've been doing Aldi meat lately and it has been mostly fine but got sick off of chicken twice.

Stop calling it kit. Nobody is wearing this stuff on the frontline. Even If you turned up wearing thru dark in the police or fire brigade, like it’s marketed for, you’d get pelters for it. The only people wearing this are dads dropping the kids off at school and high risk operations for the big shop at Aldi. I am giving serious thought to buying a house (decent neighborhood in a relatively LCOL city). I’m down to the final five and have a price, or at least a monthly payment I can live with.
