Hey Nashville- long time listener, first time poster. Short backstory is I've had an awful cough for over 10 days. Over the counter medicines aren't doing enough and been of some other medications I'm on I'm unable to take most "nighttime" medicines. I had a Doctor appointment yesterday and was prescribed Promethazine-Codeine cough syrup, but it turns out no pharmacies seem to carry it anymore. Pharmacists at CVS, Kroger, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart and Sams Club told me they no longer stock it, and every mom and pop pharmacy I called reacted as if I was asking them to sell me heroin. Former coworker in the pharmacy sent me this. They quit right after. I have never seen a person work harder. They were a Rite Aid acquisition place and they kept the place open basically themselves while most of them quit. This is how CVS repaid them. Glad I left this place. Save your health and see how your health does just within 1 month of leaving this “employer of choice.” Lol

hey friends, I just started back as a pharmacy technician after two years of being gone (health reasons). I am nervous, I feel like I was pushed back in because i’ve already been here before… but I am STRUGGLING. I forgot how fast paced it was and now that rite aid closed our workload is more than before. I just am prettyyyy overwhelmed. any tips or tricks and help of any kind would be appreciated!!

I live in PA and I completed the Rite Aid pharmacy tech program through Pharmacy Technician University. I was wondering if that counted for registration with the new PA law that requires you to register with the board of pharmacy techs. The board doesn’t have specifics of programs listed just what a program should cover and I’m pretty sure everything was covered in the PTU program. Is anyone else in the same boat and has more info?

What is going on in Region 53 Division 09 ? Even though CVS acquired Rite Aid and script volume goes up continuously because of insurance requirements, there are massive budget cuts for the pharmacy. Our lines are crazy long and customers are always angry. Terrible toxic work environment. I keep hearing that SB2040/HB1959 is about reform, but I haven’t seen a real answer to this: if CVS, Kroger, specialty, and mail-order pharmacies are forced out, who absorbs those patients? We’ve seen what happens during mass closures. When Rite Aid went bankrupt, it was CVS that stepped in and absorbed millions of prescriptions and hired thousands of employees. Pharmacy Technician, I was Rite Aid for years until the company went into chapter 11 and we got bought out by CVS. When I was rehired for CVS I was asked what pay range I wanted, I put 25-30 (I had been at $24 an hour at Rite Aid for years) they offered $23 and I accepted it. I was told no more overtime, which previously I was working 50 hours a week. Told my boss I was either going to get a part time job elsewhere or look for another fulltime, he said no need, he was going to put me in for the lead tech position at $30. It seems odd to me that CVS spent a bunch of money to acquire the old Rite Aid location, convert the interior to their decor and fixture system, and… didn’t bother coordinating with whoever owns the parking lot to fix this strobing light in front of the pharmacy. Only problem with that is, I'm only 7% complete through PTU because it counts against my pharmacy hours and I can't really work on it in the pharmacy because we're busy constantly and I have to keep leaving the computer. Hey Trojans! Im looking for opinions on the CVS pharmacy in Wynantskill on Main. I used the CVS downtown till it closed. I used the Rite Aid on Hoosick till that closed... Im currently using the Walgreens on Hoosick buuuut I find myself more annoyed than satisfied. I understand they have probably absorbed half the city BUT they seem to have stayed a hot mess rolling. How the **** do I get to actually speak to a pharmacist at CVS? The automated line is keeps forcing me to leave a message and request a call back, which I never get. I shouldn’t have to walk into the store to actually speak to the person filling my Rx. Hi I am a pharmacist that has ***** GoodRx for as long as I have been in pharmacy for a few reasons and their new (now a week old) cooperation with TrumpRx is one the most horrifying things I have ever seen. For starters GoodRx is another dystopian invasion of privacy that will definitely be exploited to persecute people. They have had multiple controversies where they have been caught selling patient information (two of the founding members are former Facebook executives so of course they sell your data). A lot of traditional healthcare information is protected by HIPAA, but putting your information into the GoodRx website is not protected and GoodRx settled a case with the FTC for selling...

Just wow, how can CVS say it’s a healthcare leader when WALMART just increased its pay cap for regular pharmacy techs to $40.50/hr and lead techs to $42.00/hr and bonuses. That’s over $10 per hour more than CVS. Looks like Walmart wants the best talent and CVS wants to be the next rite aid and Walgreens slowly dieing and bleeding talent.
