I started working at a small pharmacy near my house in fall 2021. I was hired as a cashier, but told that I'd be trained in the compounding lab and regular pharmacy as a tech in time. I used to go to Rite Aid in my neighborhood to fill my Rxs. Now they went bankrupt and shut down. I can't drive so nothing else is near me....my insurance no longer covers CVS. I switched over to Optum Rx mail in. THey are horrible. It's several minutes of automated voices before I can speak to a person and no one on there knows what they are talking about probably because they are all burn out poorly trained call center reps that are paid 7 dollars an hour. Someone insisted I was out of refills when my doctor just put in the RX a week ago. They insisted upon it. I had to be a Karen and ask to speak to their manager and the manager told me the call center rep was flat out wrong and...

Given the many rumors going around and now seeing this article, I would like input from the current pharmacy staff. I worked for rite aid up until they closed. If offered a position, should I accept it or would I signing up for heart ache again? I've been looking for a new job since RA closed. I refuse to go back to the other. My thought: Walgreens would keep me current with the field and add to my experience. It could be years or not at all that they close their doors even with all the same wrighting on the walls that RA had. New RPH this year is out if control and nothing is done because they are basically irreplaceable due to the area demographics our rural store has. List of offense include: 1. Pitching a fit about working 9 to 2 on 4th of July so RX DL just closed the pharmacy that day. 2. Refused to come in early for inventory so RX DL came and did it themselves. 3. Recruited a FS employee to transfer to RX. Transfer goes through all is well. Regional Manager asks all FS and RX employees for volunteers to go to the wear coast to support Rite Aide acquisitions. I was an SFL previously for six years, and I just transferred back into the pharmacy to be a tech. In upstate New York, where my store is located, all of the Rite Aid drugstores just closed and went out of business. Our pharmacy volume has increased by at least 40%. I helped out in the pharmacy as an SFL, doing the registers in the drive-through and occasionally filling. But this new volume is insane. We literally don’t stop moving back there from the time I clock in until the time I clock out. Is anyone else experiencing this?
