Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the RadioShack Latest Community Discussions About RadioShackHawkins Map3d agoHello, everyone! First of all, thank you for letting me share this. In honor of the series finale, I created a map of Hawkins. I really enjoy creating maps for different worlds (Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, Star Wars), but Hawkins proved to be quite a challenge. The biggest problem was that the maps appearing in the series were inconsistent and sometimes even contradictory. As a result, I focused on "piecing together" the existing maps. *(And as soon as I finished, I had to update it because one of the new trailers showed a map of the city center.)* You can find the map in high resolution on my [DeviantArt page](https://www.deviantart.com/86botond/art/Stranger-Things-Hawkins-map-126... Radio Shack 19799d agoHow many of us remember needing some sort of electronic item or gizmo to repair something around the house in the 1970s or 1980s? The first place we all called or went to was Radio Shack back in the day. You name it; they had it. In the 1980s their inventory expanded into computer technology. RadioShack began in 1921 as a Boston ham radio shop and mail-order operation, which after Wold War II had expanded to a dozen locations in New England. The business was acquired in 1963 by one-time Texas leather supplier Tandy, which later assumed the retailer’s name. In the 1970s, Radio Shack stores proliferated across the USA. Finally, In 1999 at its peak it had over 8000 store locations, but by ... The left audio on my VITURE PRO XR glasses stopped working11d agoThe left audio on my VITURE PRO XR glasses stopped working. I bought my glasses 2 months ago and have been very happy with the purchase, but yesterday the left audio stopped working. I have already updated to the latest firmware version and tested them with multiple devices. The volume on both the glasses and the connected devices is at 100%. When I slightly move the left arm of the glasses away from my ear, the audio comes back, but if I let go of the arm, the sound cuts out again. Please, I need your help. The glasses haven't been dropped, and I have always transported them in their original case. I work at the company COOLBOX (formerly Radioshack) in Peru, and when my co... How to shut your Narcissist ex up for good.12d agoThis happened to me a long time ago when I was divorcing my first husband who happens to be the father of my children. This is lengthy but I hope that somehow this is going to help someone who is in the situation that I was and shows that you never know what the law can do for you when you research it and know what to do. This happened in the early 2000s between July 2002 and August 2003. I left my controlling husband taking my three children with me. I never kept my children from their father and he saw them as much as I did. I wasn’t one of those women to talk bad about him in front of the children or try to start fights in front of them. This was between he and I and had absolutely... Local RadioShack style electrical components store?24d agoHey, I hope the title is self explanatory. I’m getting into learning how to build electronics, and was hoping there was a store in town that sold this sort of thing. Stripboard, transistors, capacitors, pcb, ect ect. I’d like to support local shops over having to constantly order off Amazon. Anyone got any leads? New owner of vintage turntable - is anyone able to help me out with a few questions?27d agoI came into possession of my parents' old turntable (Magnavox model number FP7130SL01), in addition to a tape player (Magnavox FC6133SL01), a Sony 5-disc rotating CD player, a Radioshack audio source selector, and two TLX 105 bookshelf speakers. The turntable will spin a record (quietly). I've been trying to figure out how to set all of this up & what I need to set it up. It was all stored together but I'm not even sure if it was/will all be compatible together. I've watched a few YouTube videos which left me confused. Do I need an amplifier to connect between the turntable and the speakers? Do they sell speaker wires that will connect to these old speakers (or I... Imagine a 14-year-old in 2006 with access to RadioShack clearance bins, Fry’s, or a local maker club. Nothing fancy like GPUs or data centers. Just the bones of a “stationary AI shrine” — scrappy, hackable, and alive in a garage bedroom. --- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | TITAN MNEMOSYNE SHRINE :: NOTEBOOK (BUDGET BUILDER EDITION) | | (Middle-class DIY, RadioShack / thrift tech) | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ --- [PAGE 50] CASE & CHA... When would you say that NYC changed in your lifetime?45d agoYou hear people say that NYC "isn't the same" as it used to be. When would you say that NYC changed? I'd say that a lot of changes started in 2009/early 2010s and culminated in 2015/2016. Shmecap: Ask Shmanners 1847d agoHi Jerkers, I'm listening. Today we're tackling a genre of Shmanners episode that you requested but I have been hesitant to dip into - the Ask Shmanners episodes. Dating back as far as 2017, T4T have dedicated episodes where they will answer listener questions. To ease myself into this, I have started with episode 469 (nice), aka the 18th Ask Shmanners, and the most recent (released in August of this year). Furthermore, I will be adding two things to this recap - *I* will also be answering their listener questions *and* I am going to throw in questions from The Playboy Advisor section of Playboy's November 1979 issue. Okay, the shmoctor is in. **Preamble** * T4T open the e... Bill Gates LIVE: Via Satellite Introduces Windows 95! When he presses a button on the remote, the female customer service rep's shirt flies off. He presses the button again and her bra flies off. She covers herself with her hands. The joke is that it's like a magic TV remote that removes women's clothing at the press of a button. At the end of the skit, he buys the remote. It wasn't in english. I wanna say it was french but I could be wrong. The clip itself looked like something out of MADtv or something. Very 90s/early 2000s television looking. The fe... Looking for electronics parts shops that aren’t in Tokyo or Osaka51d agoHi all, Back in Japan for 3 weeks and looking for electronics parts shops. Think like the old RadioShack stores that the us/Canada used to have. Places that sell LEDs, diodes, ect. Even electronic junk is fine (hard off) Currently in Hiroshima, but will also be in Okayama, Osaka (already know about denden town) Nagoya, Kyoto and Tokyo. Is there anything in Hiroshima/okayama/kyoto/Nagoya? Or am I better to wait till I am back in Osaka/tokyo? Arduino/Raspberry Pi Equipment Store53d agoIs there any store that would have equipment that I could by for an Arduino or Raspberry Pi around here? Specifically something like an actuated piston? I know RadioShack is gone, anywhere else? I know in Ruston there was/is a place called Alvar and Hurrik's that had some equipment for these, at the very least for the CS/engineering programs at Tech. Diy electronics store?55d agoIs there a store in SL or Utah counties that caters to the electronics DIY crowd? Something like the diy section of Fry's used to be, or microcenter, or RadioShack from the 80s? I mean I could get stuff from Amazon, but would rather support something local if it exists. My experience with h2o wireless56d agoMy daughter was on US Mobile’s 2GB Minimal plan ($96/year) for the past two years. However, she consistently needed data top-ups every six weeks for basic tasks like maps, tracking, and ChatGPT (everything else was blocked on data). That brought her real cost closer to $156/year. Two weeks ago, I switched her to H2O Wireless’ 3GB plan at $115/year. The porting and initial activation were smooth. Then, three days ago, I got her a new phone (s10 to s21 5g). Chat agents? Either they don’t respond or they disconnect after ten-ish minutes. Phone agents actually attempt to help, but none have been able to get the eSIM working. Support hours don’t help either, as i have just one hour aft... I got trapped in a dead mall in South Florida and I do not think it ever let me go58d agoThis is not something I have told many people. I know how it sounds. I know most people will not believe it. But it happened to me, and it changed the way I look at every empty building I pass. This is the story of how I became trapped in a mall that should not exist. Part One: Inside the Dead Mall South Florida is covered in failed projects and abandoned buildings. Hurricanes destroy some, bad money destroys others. There are motels left to rot, entire neighborhoods stripped bare, plazas boarded up forever. But this mall near Fort Lauderdale was different. It had been closed since the late nineteen nineties. Explorers online called it a time capsule. Neon signs still hanging, mannequi... Party: My House, Friday night59d agoN64 is good to go on the tube tv. Mario Party, Mario Kart, Goldeneye 007. 4 controllers, 4 rumble packs. Dave said he was bringing over the Fritos and his mom's onion dip, but I don't trust that. Can someone else pick it up? A case of Surge would be ideal as well, though Mountain Dew or Mellow Yellow (weird) will also suffice. Oh, and If you want to join the LAN party, send Mike a message over AIM so we know how many pop-up tables we should rent. RadioShack is sounding lackluster-- we might have to try TheWhiz, or Becky's Dad's party store. Side note-- Mix CDs brought for the entertainment need to have full track listings otherwise Laura is goi... Separating VHF and UHF bands becoming a "lost art" anymore?92d agoI've been telling people an option to use one antenna for VHF channels and another for UHF ones, but this requires a diplexer for both bands. So far, the only brands I've known actively making this kind of diplexer are Antennas Direct and Televes.... methinks. - Antennas Direct: https://store.antennasdirect.com/antennas-direct-uhf-vhf-tv-antenna-combiner-weatherproof-enclosure-black.html - contains weatherproof enclosure case for especially outdoor mounting - From what I learned just now, "The [weatherproof] enclosure [case] will not accept larger diameter coaxial cable such as RG11" - Perhaps RG11 and somewhat short(?) RG6 cables can be used all together, but... Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
