Almost 9 months ago I took my mom and 3 my closest friends to see a musical for my birthday. I come from a very poor family and would NEVER normally do this for any occasion, but I work a part time job and saved up more than enough money to treat myself. It was my (ex) best friend that suggested we do this, as this was our favorite musical. It was happening in another part of our state and flights needed to be arranged. I would be paying for all of their flights and show tickets, but they needed to pay me back for the flight money. (Flight Ticket=$160, Show Ticket=$90) This was a good arr... For the longest time, Amazon was my default. Huge selection, decent discounts during sales, fast delivery, and overall it just felt reliable. If I needed a gadget, I’d automatically check Amazon first without even thinking twice. But recently I’ve noticed more people suggesting other options too like Flipkart, brand websites, and even offline electronics stores. Sometimes Flipkart seems to have better bank offers or exclusive launches, and a few friends told me they’ve managed to negotiate better prices at local stores for things like laptops and appliance... This is not a flex…2h agoAcceptance rate faulty!2h agoI was doing a doordash yesterday at a grocery store and shopping for 2 customers. I was also running instacart and shopping for 2 customers. So I was doing 4 shops (no more than 7 or 8 items per shop it wasn't too much for me) But doordash kept offering me more shops to add to the 2 I was already doing and I declined because I already had 4 deliveries to make and I noticed that they reduced my acceptance rate for each shop I declined even though I was already shopping 2 for DD! It seemed pretty unfair. They were even offering me more shops after I cashed out and was loading my car with the bags. It should be an optional thing to add more orders to an existing shop and i feel like if you... 30F Hello. Let’s try to make some new friends tonight. Any night owls?2h agoI’m from Florida. I have family in New Jersey and Alabama as well. I was born and raised in Alabama and moved to Florida back in 2020. It’s pretty sick, I have an alligator proof pool area, a green house, and a shed (with proper insulation and central heating/cooling). I’m a gamer. Streamed quite a bit since the vine days. It’s what I do for a living for over 12 years but slowly taking a lighter schedule. Doing another job on the side, something extra that’s not gaming related. I’m planning to travel a lot this year. Asia and Europe is where I’d like to focus on. I also want to open up a TCG shop. I collect Pokemon cards and been playing Pokopia. It would be cool if I can ope... How do shop for vinyl?2h agoI purchase 95% from a large store in south Seattle. It’s not that far from where I live, there’s a lot of space to move around so it’s not crowded, they know me, and I can always find numerous albums to purchase. I also buy on Discogs, Bandcamp, and a few other Seattle shops. I’ve kept a monthly playlist of new music I’ve discovered for probably like 8 years so I’ll usually scroll the recent monthly playlist to see if there’s anything new I want to purchase on vinyl and/or I just start digging through the bins until I have too many to carry or feel like going home. I don’t often buy used unless it’s rare. I also keep a running reminder list of albums I really want on a no... a student’s unofficial guide to grocery shopping in the uk2h agoone thing international students quickly realise is that grocery shopping in the uk is a skill you slowly develop. supermarkets vary a lot in price, quality, and what they offer, so learning where to shop can make a big difference to your weekly budget. **aldi and lidl are your best friends.** if you’re trying to keep your grocery bill low, these two stores are usually the most budget-friendly. they’re great for basics like vegetables, pasta, rice, bread, and frozen meals. many students rely on them for weekly shopping because the prices are consistently lower than most other supermarkets. **waitrose is beautiful… but expensive.** waitrose has great quality products and a really ... Women Who Built 2: Michelle Fuqua — Co-Founder, Ultimate Party Super Store & Ultimate Party Tents and Events |...2h agoMichelle Fuqua — Co-Founder, [Ultimate Party Super Store](https://ultimatepartysuperstores.com/) & [Ultimate Party Tents and Events](https://www.ultimatepartytents.com/) | Hendersonville, TN In the summer of 2008 — the same year the economy was unraveling — Michelle and her husband, John Fuqua, opened the doors of Ultimate Party Super Store in Hendersonville, just outside Nashville. No franchise backing. No corporate playbook. Just a storefront, a community to serve, and a belief that people will always find a reason to celebrate. What began as a single shop stocked with party supplies and balloons has grown into over **17,000 square feet** of retail and warehouse space — o... I’ve been in a rut lately. From small startups to large enterprises, companies are increasingly moving online to sell products and services. An effective e-commerce solution provides the tools and technology needed to build, manage, and grow an online store efficiently. An e-commerce solution typically includes several essential components such as website development, product management systems, secure payment gateways, order tracking, and cu... Lanvin 2026 newish collection2h agoLanvin doesn’t get a lot of attention in here but I’ve been collecting vintage Lanvin for years. It’s a very IYKYK brand coming from the oldest fashion house in France. I haven’t been into their more modern bags like the pencil cat bags. Not practical and too dramatic for me. I love the older Alber Elbaz designed bags. But the new runway bags under Peter Copping are to die for. I can’t wait until 10 years from now when I can find them on Fashionphile for 1/10 of their current prices. Any services that let you try watches before buying? (free shipping)2h agoI went to Macy’s today and tried on probably 10 different watches, and I only liked one out of the bunch. I’ve been looking at watches in the 38mm range and I’m finding it really hard to commit to anything online without seeing how it actually wears on my wrist first. I don’t have a ton of great watch shops near me beyond department stores, and their selection only goes so far. Are there any websites or services that let you try watches at home before you buy? Ideally with free shipping both ways so I’m not spending money just to figure out something doesn’t work for me. Open to hearing about any experiences — dedicated try-on service, a retailer with a really generous retu... A proud happy mommy2h agoI just had to share somewhere! Today my mom and i were out to lunch at a ramen shop and my 9 mo old (who rarely ever consumes anything, he just kinda chews then spits it out, it’s a struggle lmao) really wanted my ramen broth. I figured “why not I’ll just give him a little, it’s not like he’ll actually eat it”. Boy was I wrong!! He LOVED it! It was the first time ever that he let me spoon feed him and he opened his mouth for more each time. 🥹 it was so special and cute. Ofc I didnt give him much, I had no clue what the sodium content was, but now I’m going to buy some miso from the store and make him some soup now! Don’t get me wrong I love that my boy can feed himself ... PSA: DON'T GAMBLE2h agoJust to let you know, gambling away your gold for a slim chance to get a premium is a bad idea. The current Kitakami crate in the store has a 1% chance odd of getting the ship, with each crate costing 600 gold or 5400 for 10 of them. Just for a **50% coin flip chance** of getting the ship, you need to open at least 70 crates, or **37,800 gold**. For context, the most expensive T10 premium cruiser in the shop is only 25200. Just because you're seeing some people get lucky with the crates, **doesn't mean you will as well. You could very well lose all your gold, and end up missing out on discounted premiums from Black Friday, events, and other special deals.** If you have a lot o... $14 Adidas Adifom Slides2h agoA silly question about drinking vs collecting2h agoI'm not a wine drinker myself so I have no stake in the matter, but a question came up today between me and a friend: What's the most expensive wine people will regularly buy to actually drink? We were grocery shopping and started playing a game of "what's the most expensive wine in the store" (of the stores we ended up hitting today the winner was $624.99). It got us wondering because we know people buy some crazy expensive bottles for a collection that they never intend to actually drink, but what will someone spend on something they actually intend to taste? Obviously there are some socio-econmic factors that will skew the price range, but what's the thresho...
