What do you guys do when the store ran out of reusable bags?3h agoBeen to Aldi a couple of times in the past (just as a customer) and the store was out of reusable bags. I live in the east coast (NY) where stores don’t necessarily give you bags for free anymore. Same is true in New Jersey (Bergen county) where I also normally shop. Thanks in advance. When 'memory' in my shopping AI became a liability3h agoI built an AI shopping helper to save people from the wrong size and endless tabs. The plan was to have it remember your sizing, brands, style and dealbreakers so recommendations get better over time. Turns out I made the memory too eager. I stored prefs as static key value pairs and matched greedily. So when someone wanted something out of their usual , a different fit for a gift, or a seasonal change , the agent kept suggesting their old go-tos. I got annoyed users and a lot of silent drop-offs. Felt like a **** mistake. What helped: add recency weighting, a quick "not this" forget action, and a small context step before locking a preference (occasion, temp, etc). We also added... I started listening to how people talked, not what they said. The liars became obvious.3h agoI used to get fooled constantly. People would lie to my face and I'd believe them. Not because I was ******, but because I was listening to the wrong things. I was focused on content. What they were saying. Whether the story made sense. Whether the facts checked out. But skilled liars have good stories. The facts sound right. The details are in place. What gave them away wasn't what they said. It was how they said it. The patterns I started noticing: Too much detail. When someone's telling the truth, they give you what's relevant and move on. When someone's lying, they over-explain. They add details you didn't ask for. They're trying to build a wall o... I see a lot of posts by store employees saying "I'm not going to shop your order for you. Stop shoving your phone in my face." Let me give you this scenario - dasher enters the store with a list of items to be acquired. The cart already has a number of items in it, so shopping has obviously already been happening. Store employee is approached and this is the conversation: DD: Excuse me, sorry to bother you, but I'm having trouble locating this item. Could you please point me in the right direction? SE: I don't shop for you. I work here. DD: I'm not asking you to shop for me - ... Drop Stop & Shop3h agoHuh.. I just can’t - another drop/stop what-I’m-doing, run across town, shop for someone else who, by the way, doesn’t even appreciate I’ve given up precious time and energy, so they can go about their daily business!!! This was a no tip!!! I’ve stopped taking these subpar orders. Do You have an order minimum ? What is it? Is it worth shopping on Wayland games?3h agoAs the title says is it worth shopping on Wayland games if I live in the US? I see that their prices are way cheaper then other stores and wanted to know if it a too good to be true and if anyone has had any bad experiences shopping from them? Costco vs walmart which is actually cheaper3h agotired of the anecdotes. here's what i actually found after comparing unit prices on 22 household items across both stores using popgot. costco cheaper: paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent, dish pods, olive oil, coffee, vitamins, protein bars. margin varies but costco wins consistently on all of these. walmart cheaper: several store brand canned goods, some condiments, certain cleaning sprays where the great value version beats kirkland per oz. essentially a wash: many snack categories, some cereals, various frozen items. the membership fee ($65/year) pays back in roughly one quarter of buying the costco-winning categories if your household consumes them at normal rates. if y... Where to buy PS5 Disc Edition offline in Pune?3h agoWant to buy a PS5 Disc Edition from a physical store in Pune — no online purchases. Any official Sony authorized shops or trusted local gaming stores you'd recommend? Recent experiences welcome. Thanks! Release day statement from The Dread Pirate Blue Skies3h agoWhere to get good quality basketball gear for outdoor play?3h agoI'm getting back into playing basketball with mates on weekends and need some decent outdoor equipment that holds up to weather. Looking for a durable ball like Spalding NBA style and maybe a portable hoop or net for the backyard since my old one's falling apart. Preferably stores in the CBD or eastern suburbs with fair prices under $150 for the ball. Has anyone got recommendations for shops with good selection and staff who know their stuff? Online options with fast local delivery would work too if the quality's reliable. no Your Shop3h agoThe game said Your Shop would be updated on the 10th at 11:00 GMT+3, but it's already the 13th and the store isn't in the game yet. Does anyone know why? Starter decided to act right🤦🏼♀️🤣3h agoSo for twoish weeks my sourdough starter **Todough** (Toto) refused to act right. I use White Lilly unbleached bread flour to feed since that’s what my local grocery store offers. It would never double, smelled weird or acetoney, and I may have yelled at this thing a time or two.🫣🤣 I am an impatient person so I gave up and spent $20 on an established starter from TikTok Shop named Eve… which I obviously renamed **Doughorothy** because you can’t have **Todough** without **Doughorothy**. Now that **Doughorothy** (Dorothy) has caught my attention because she doubled on day 2! Todough decides to wake up and triple in size… so I guess I have two sourdough starters now🤘🏻 (... How 2 friends went from 0 users to 100,000 print orders in 16 months3h agoI'm a co-founder of PrintShrimp, a print on demand company just specialising in posters / wall art, with global fulfilment. We wrote this for Linkedin however, I thought it would be a cool thing to share on Reddit too. This is a little insight into our journey as 2 (then) 24 year old founders! Myself (Tom) and my friend (Max) officially launched PrintShrimp in January last year. Before then, we were accepting all orders via email (yes, really!) and using google sheets to track everything. When I started developing our software, I had only written my first line of code 12 months prior and when we finally launched in December to our top 10 customers, our software ****** so badly we lost ...
