Black Friday

2m ago

I just returned from Cross County Shopping Center and I must say Black Fridays are no longer what it used to be. I remember the “good ole days” when these stores will open at midnight to a flurry of anxious shoppers stampeding through the doors to get those special sales. It’s sort of a tradition to usher in the holiday season that I have been programmed to get into the holiday spirit. I distinctly remember watching irate shoppers fighting over the last comforter set at Macys. Today there were hardly any shoppers there, even the boomer ladies who aren’t into online shopping were not interested. Doesn’t bode well for the future of Westchester retail stores, not that I’m sympathet...

645 super help

3m ago

Just bought a mamiya 645 super but somehow AFTER purchase I've found a way to make the focusing screen stick half way up in the body. It may be because the battery needs a replacement or something else. I was told by the shop I bought it from to take the film back off and put it back on but that didn't nothing. I had also taken the film insert out to see if that would do anything. I'm currently on the hunt for a new battery now (4LR44) but can't find any in any store so far. If anyone knows of an equivalent please recommend. As a last resort ill return to the camera shop tomorrow for a quick look (the owner said over the phone he'd happily have a look for me) bu...

No more meat pricing per kg

3m ago

I don't usually shop at any of the Loblaws chain stores so I was surprised when I saw this: https://preview.redd.it/81rnnpcdc14g1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8244491a95398f085e01def54f91784c640aed21 Their meat is priced \_per package\_ now, not per kilogram. So what? Who cares? The photo above shows a 649 g tray (left) and a 733 g tray (right), both for $15. So, if you're not careful, you're paying over 10% extra for chicken thighs! And I'll bet this packaging change is hiding price inflation too. Galen: Thanks for reminding me \_not\_ to shop at your stores! 🖕

Black Friday is a joke

7m ago

Black Friday is such a joke the last few years, this is literally less then %25 off, they give out coupons in the mail for as much, what happened to the %50+ discounts that would have people trying to break doors down? Everything’s already more expensive now on top of that.

Tired of “sort by price”? Here’s the actually-smart way to shop AliExpress (Code Inside)

10m ago

Let’s be honest…“Sort by Price: Low to High” on AliExpress is basically a scam in disguise. You click the cheapest item, and boom-$0.89 product, $12.50 shipping Every. Single. Time. After way too many bad purchases (and a few “why did I buy this??” moments), I finally came up with a simple 3-step method that actually finds good stuff without wasting money. **Here’s the quick version:** **Step 1: Vet the Seller First** Don’t even look at the item yet. Scroll straight to the store rating. **Step 2: Go Straight to the Customer Photos** Ignore the shiny promo pics. The real info is in the “Reviews with Photos.” **Step 3: Always Check the Real...

Firearms, Ammunition & Payments Industry Insight

When most people think about firearms businesses—whether it’s a gunsmith, FFL, ammo manufacturer, cerakoter, or parts retailer—they think about the products. But what actually determines long-term success in this industry isn’t just inventory or machining skill… it’s **compliance, policy awareness, and understanding how money moves behind the scenes.** If you’re running (or starting) any business in the firearms world, here are a few things that matter way more than people realize: # 1️⃣ Your Operation Lives and Dies by Compliance ATF rules, 4473 audits, bound-book accuracy, serial tracking, and proper storage policies aren’t optional. Questions as I prepare to sell my art online and in popups

14m ago

I sorta do these in my head usually, but this time I realized it might help others to hash it out here. I’ve prepped my printers and my screen printing tools. As a crafter, I make most of my packaging myself. This saves me cost. If one of them takes off then I can look into getting that design line mass produced by an outsource. I’ve got my big Dry Erase board going. I’m terrible at using it but I’m trying. I got the markers and cleaning supplies for it lined up. I’m trying out my Panda planner. I am among worlds worst planners. I’m hoping this helps me fix that. I’m joining r/50squats. I’m planning as I squat and better yet I’m getting pumped up. Doing ex...

Woolworths department manager pay negotiation

20m ago

I'm about to move up to nightfill manager at my woolworths and I'm looking for some advice on my contract. The shop is pretty remote and I hold abit of an advantage as they would have to pay massive overs to bring someone else in from another store as they are hours away. Currently take home 1200 a week as an assistant working 38 hours but workload will increase to around 50 hours any advice is welcome

How does a Panasonic UB450 compare to the UB820?

22m ago

*accidentally posted the UB420 that doesn’t have DV on my last post instead of the UB450 that does. Is the difference really that noticeable? I have an LG C5 OLED that all ready upscales pretty good. Trying to see if I can save a couple hundred bucks without sacrificing too much 😅. UB450 seems to have everything other than the fine tuning and blu ray/dvd upscaling if I’m not mistaken.

iPhone battery replacement

23m ago

Travelling China and in dire need of a iPhone battery replacement. Any idea how long the Apple Store in Beijing would keep the phone? Not looking for generic 1-3 days type of answers but rather legit information. Or pointers if any other shops sell original Apple batteries that you’d suggest if they have a quicker turnaround.

Small biz clothing stores and jeans?

23m ago

Hi! I’m looking for small biz clothing stores to overhaul my wardrobe. I have had decent luck at Ruby Jane on 32nd, and Inspyre and April and West on Tennyson, and I’m looking for stores in similar style and price ranges anywhere in Denver and surrounding suburbs. Also, can anyone suggest a place for denim shopping that carries something other than the wide-leg styles? I am not a fan of the look and it doesn’t fit my body well. I’m looking for mid to higher waist and more fitted styles to wear under boots and can’t seem to find them since the current trend is the wide legs.

Local Shops are not making it easy.

26m ago

Sometimes I think local shops are trying to go out of business. I needed to get a part for my computer so decided to walk down to the local computer shop. Once I got to the shop they had a sign up saying they'd be back at 1445. So I decided to go get something to eat while I wait and headed to the local chicken shop but when I got there they only accepted cash so had to go find an ATM. In my search for an ATM I discovered a new burger king opened up today so popped in and got a free whopper instead for something from the local chicken shop. By this point it was about 1450 so decided to head back to the computer shop and arrived about 1500 to find the store still locked up. After t...
