Twice, now, I've have weird encounters during self-checkout at CostCo. Two trips ago I made my rounds through the store and opted for self check out because I didn't have a lot of things and I really **** the small talk that clerks make with customers. My policy for deterring a theft when an apprehension cannot be made is to “make presence known in a non-verbal manner”. It does not allow pretending to be on the phone with anybody, staring at the customer, obviously following the customer through the store, wearing our ID badge in a visible location, acting as store management or staff, or asking the store to provide customer service. Does anybody have any tactics they use that would follow my company policy aside from just fake shopping in line of sight of the customer hoping it will deter the theft?

My husband’s birthday is coming up soon, we have been married for 8+ years. I have always gone above & beyond for his birthdays. I bought an old rental copy of The Video Dead from a local "retro" store. They had a day where all their tapes were 50 percent off so I snagged it up for a good deal. When I got home I noticed the tape wouldn't play. When I put it in any VCR, the VCR thinks about it for a few seconds and then auto-ejects the tape. I opened the case and had to break the security sticker from the rental shop it belonged to in order to get in. Inside I didnt notice anything odd. I took the reels out and put them in another case and the movie plays fine. I tinker with lots of hobbies and materials, mostly woodworking, but a bit of sheet metal, electronics, bicycles, repair work, and whatever else sparks my interest. As a result, I have lots of spare materials of various types, and I’m wondering how other multi-disciplinary makers store those sorts of things. I'll level with you: I've done the measurements before but I don't have them in front of me, and I just now worked up the courage to ask this question, so I'm doing it while I have the guts to do it. So sorry for no measurements, bear with me! Hi! I'm a casual comic book collector and artist. Recently, I thought of a design for how to store my comic collection. Two reasons for this: 1. I'm disabled. Pulling and re-inserting books into long-boxes or the end-labels on a bookshelf at the shops gets bad for my back, attention-span, and fatigue.
