Looking to buy a rug for my apartment and wondering if anyone has good store recommendations in Ghent. I came across Marof Carpet in Sleepstraat, but not sure how good they are. I've read several posts about thrift stores/friperie, but I'm curious if most of them carry mostly women's clothes or all types of clothes? My 16-year old son loves fashion and thrift shopping but is sometimes disappointed by female-only stores. How is this in Paris? Specifically, we are staying in South Pigalle/Rue de Martyrs area. I moved here from DC & I miss the awesome bookstores at the museums, like the NGA, Sackler & Smithsonian. But when I went to the Baltimore Museum of Art, I was disappointed by the tiny bookstore so I’m wondering if that’s similar to Walter’s? So, I am Korean-American and have traveled to Korea probably about 7-8 times in my life. The longest period was for about 7 months when I was 21 years old, I am 46 now. I am traveling this year with my family and am wondering if some cultural issues still persist. For example, I never got used to the lack of personal space. I have been literally pushed aside while shopping at stores because the person did not want to walk around me. Literally shoved.
