LA Fitness Locations

I want to start a fitness gym with a half court basketball court. My only fear is if the fitness gym is too small. Places like Planet Fitness and LA Fitness are large and have more options, but does that mean people prefer larger gyms? I feel claustrophobic in small gyms, but I think it's the layout. Any opinions on attending small/retail gyms compared to large/big box gyms? If there is enough room for 500 people in a big box gym and they get 500 members, is there a difference if I have a gym that holds 50 people and get 50 members? Would a gym that holds 50 people only attract 25 people because of the less impressive size? I think overcrowding is a huge problem in gyms in NY. Any advic...

Apparently LAF owns this luxury/upscale gym brand called Clubsport and that's what they're turning the Smithtown LA Fitness into next year. I can't find much info on this type of gym online. What can I expect? Saunas/steam rooms, cold plunges? Any videos on YT of a tour? I'm curious what's in store for Smithtown.

I got to an LA fitness in LA even though I live closer to an Equinox but I started cardio recently and all of the guys keep staring. Do I run weird?

I still work at Walmart and just got a second job at LA Fitness. I’m worried that listing it in Workday could get me in trouble or notify my managers, and I’m panicking.

I went on Thanksgiving in 2024, and it was busy, for the most part. Anyone know if there's an uptick during Christmas Eve hours? Any employees know? Mine will be open from 8am-12pm.

I want to change my gym. I've been doing LA fitness for years. I want to change to a smaller gym something not too crazy. I don't want to go to a big named gym like crunch or lifetime. I just want a gym that cares more about equipment and cleanliness

My company just signed up with Wellhub. They are offering to pay for the Starter+ at $24.70 and reimburse for this amount if I choose a higher plan. I currently have a membership at a local gym ($75/m) that I go to when I am in office, but I also have a membership at LA Fitness for when I travel (Travel on average 2-3 weeks a month this one is $45/m). LA Fitness and my local gym are on the Silver tier ($100/m) so it makes sense to do this but I just feel like I am missing something. My standing reach is 8’1 and from what I heard, rim is 10 inches. I went to LA fitness and I can touch rim just standing under it and jumping so would that make my standing very around 23 inches? If I run and jump off two feet, I get my hand around 3 inches above rim. I know you need around 6 inches above to barely dunk, but part of me feels like I’m missing something. When I look at my video recording, it doesn’t seem like my feet are 26 inches off the ground lol seems more like a foot. I’m also overweight and just started lifting doing gzclp and can only squat 205 pounds at the moment so I thought my starting jump would be like 13 inches I measured my standing reach multiple time...

Hello, I just moved back to the YL area and I am looking to join a gym. I used to go to the 24 on YL blvd near veterans park when it first opened but I keep seeing reviews photos of how dirty and unkept it is. Any recommendations would be really helpful. I was thinking LA fitness or Curl fitness even smaller gyms would be considered. TIA!

Honestly, I got really tired of trying to getting clients and getting mad about the expensive personal training section fee which those gyms like GoodLife, LA Fitness charge (you know trainers normally just get 30%??). I was a member at LA/Fitness for years . I switched over to Planet Fitness , because it was open 24/7. After the covid restrictions . Many of the Planet Fitness near me . Kept chipping away at their times. Almost every Planet Fitness near me , has changed their times too 5am to 11pm Mon to Fri and 7am to 7pm on the weekends . I workout between 2 to 4am . I had to say good bye to PF and hello AF .

Is anyone else’s LA fitness locations getting rid of all the bikes and cycling classes? This is the third one in my area :( I really enjoy the free cycling classes considering actual spin class memberships aren’t cheap. It looks like some cycling rooms are being replaced with the Pilates reformers and those classes aren’t even free like cycling was. *****.
