LA Fitness Closing5h agoClass Pass or other Gym Membership for 3 Weeks in Multiple Countries in Europe?1d agoHi all--Traveling from Los Angeles to New York to Dublin to Galway to Barcelona to Paris. Dates Feb 28-March 26th. I don't plan on going nuts keeping up my fitness routine but two days a week for 45 minutes to an hour lifting weights and the rest being taken care of by stretching, walking, hikes, and dancing sounds like a great middle ground to me. And I'd stay at my current weights, reps, ROM so I'm not too sore to enjoy my time. I have an LA Fitness membership but those gyms are already inconvenient from where I'm staying in NYC let alone in Europe. Has anyone used ClassPass internationally? I figured doing that for a month would be cheaper than doing day passes twice... LA Fitness in Leesburg is closing1d agoNew PT - how to survive1d agoI am brand new to personal training after getting my NASM cert last month. I hit the ground running, shopping around my resume and introducing myself to everyone in town. I managed to line up some work fairly quickly. I'm currently working at LA fitness and Chuze with a combined 60 or so hours a week of a availability, doing a strength and conditioning class at a small community gym, and doing one private client at 4 sessions a month. I am sure I have a lot to learn, but I feel confident and competent and I'm getting a good response from my clients. My problem right now is not related to coaching. It's that I have a family to support and this is the month I need to turn cash-... Any judgements or recommendations? This is my first Topster1d agoWeightlifting2d agoIm sure there is a weightlifting gym but would it be comparable to a La Fitness? I like to powerlift and want to know what im working with Rec Membership for Alumni2d agoDoes anyone have a membership for Recreation? -like alumni or employee who have gym access, RU outdoors, etc. For context, I am a recent graduate who loved to swim at Werblin. I have been swimming since I was like 7-8 years old, and let me you—Werblin has the nicest pool in this area. I was really sad when I graduated cause I couldn’t go back anymore, my local LA fitness pool is DISGUSTING 🤢 However, I just found out you can buy a membership for about $30/month (when paid for 12 months in full) and access all of Rutgers recreation resources (and park at Werblin 😎) What are y’all experience being a member? Is it worth going back to campus or not really? Just completed my NASM, no prior training experience. I have some options here:2d agoHi! I just completed my NASM, and am looking to start gaining experience as a trainer and truly giving it a shot . I always loved fitness and it is very important to me. I don’t know truly if I will like it as a career but I feel the only way to know is to try. So I quit my corporate job and have some stable income at nights to supplement myself for now. I have some options on the table here: 1. an internship I was offered at a private high performance gym . 5 days a week for 2 hours a day for 6 weeks unpaid id be learning the ropes . The emphasis is on entry level trainers which me myself. I need reps and experience. After the 6 weeks if all goes well I am offered a full time position... Trans friendly swimming pools?2d agoI went to Mount Scott community pool tonight bc I heard that have all gender/single stall changing rooms. They have 3, but 1 is reserved for ADA accommodations, and they're all locked so you need to track down staff every time you want to go in. Workable, but frustrating. (aside from that the pool is great btw) Are there any community pools that don't do this? Or are otherwise explicitly trans-friendly? I paid for this Onepass thing that gives me access to all the community centers + LA Fitness, so ideally \*one\* of them will work out. New Gym Announcement ?2d agoIf Golds is opening a new gym, how long before opening is the announcement? Is there an official location online? *\*There is a local gym that everyone in the area loved. It opened as a Holiday Spa back in 1990, then name change to Bally's in 1995, than sold to LA Fitness in 2011. LA closed it in Dec 2024 (didn't renew lease), and has sat there empty until last week. Renovations has begun two weeks ago to reopen.* *We heard as far back as 2016 that Gold's has always wanted that gym/location. And (persistent) rumors for over a year that Golds may finally be moving in. Word was 2 weeks after it closed, a few Gold's reps did a walk thru.* [*https://youtu.be/kCFBcshG... Fit4Less Mississauga Vega3d agoI am currently a LA fitness member and **** it. There was no affordable options to switch. I am excited that Fit4Less is opening on March 11th. On the website they list all the equipment that I would need to do my workout for $16 per month. I’m in the Amherst area. Right now I’m considering LA Fitness or YMCA, if anyone has experience with the childcare at these gyms, please let me know!! I don’t have crazy expectations, just want to know that my kid will be safe for the hour or so I’ll be working out. App glitch (Wrong Pin) cost me Diamond status. Support is gaslighting me. Is BBB my best option?3d agoHey everyone. I'm a former IT Teacher who moved to LA on a Green Card last year. I'm driving Uber Eats while studying for my US IT certs. I take this job seriously, had a perfect 100% satisfaction rate, and was just days away from hitting Diamond. The Incident (Feb 3): The app's "Navigate" button took me to the customer's pin, but her actual written address was 0.6 miles away. I contacted her, which caused a delay. I drove to the real address, politely apologized, and explained the app's pin error. She gave me a death stare and a thumbs down. The Aftermath: Because I don't have thousands of deliveries yet, that single unfair rating tanked my score fr... 12th ANNUAL WWP SHOOTOUT – May 2nd & 3rd! - LA Fitness Highland Village, North Texas3d agoWhat an incredible year it's been supporting our Texas Veterans! Gym buddies?3d agoThis might sound ****** but how do yall make friends at the gym? I been going to the LA fitness at the traffic circle for over 6 months now (yay), but I have no clue what I’m doing 90% of the time and my heart starts racing when even asking someone how many sets they have left. I tried to ask one lady if she knew where the ropes were for the cable machine and looked me in the eye and didn’t say a word. I wouldn’t even consider myself socially anxious but I feel awkward in unfamiliar settings and I guess I haven’t gotten very comfortable at the gym yet 😔 Topic of guilt.4d agoI’ve been thinking a lot about guilt and whether everyone experiences it the same way. I feel intense guilt even over small things like lying to my mom about my whereabouts. It sits with me. It feels heavy, almost like a form of self punishment for doing something I know isn’t right. But then I overhear conversations that make me question everything. Yesterday at the sauna in LA Fitness, a group of guys were openly talking about how many women they’ve played, led on, hurt, or “destroyed their ego.” They were laughing about it. They also mentioned avoiding educated women because they think it makes marriage “complicated,” saying it’s better to go for women who are less educa... Looking for gym buddy - east side LA Fitness4d agoI’m a man in my late 30s. I know this is a shot in the dark, but is anyone looking for getting some gym time with weights or cardio in the morning? Just realizing it’s nice to have some socializing at the gym and have someone to look forward to seeing. I’m not hardcore with weights, but I kinda was when I was younger.
