The evolution of metabolic therapies for Huntington's Disease: building on the HDBuzz Time-Restrcted Eating Article...

3h ago

(This is the first part of a split post, resulting from reddit's file size limitations) In August of last year HDBuzz [produced an article](https://en.hdbuzz.net/appetite-for-answers-does-eating-on-a-schedule-help-with-huntingtons-disease/) on the potential benefits of Time-Restricted Eating (mild fasting) or *eating on a schedule*. The article briefly referenced a case study mentioned on a couple of occasions ([1](https://www.reddit.com/r/Huntingtons/comments/169t6lm/time_restricted_ketogenic_diet_tkrd_an_hd_case/), [2](https://www.reddit.com/r/Huntingtons/comments/1hv20xe/dr_phillips_timerestrictedketodiet_research_for/)) within this forum. https://kashmirisongs.com/pdfs/KasherBaeth.pdf Over 370 pages of lyrics to traditional Kashmiri songs from various categories with links to YouTube videos for the same. An impressive and much needed repository of our cultural heritage I was equally impressed to read about the author. It is very rare to see Kashmiri diaspora so keenly interested in giving back to moaj kasheer. It's a source of inspiration for us all

Feeling suspiciously good 37 hours into my water fast?

5h ago

I’ve been fasting on and off for the past month I would say, longest I’ve gone is 63 hours. Last week, I fasted from Friday evening until Monday afternoon. I had to break my fast as I felt awful (wasn’t taking my electrolytes properly) so learnt from that mistake and currently 37 hours into my fast. My mistake was that I only had my electrolytes once in the morning and then didn’t supplement gradually throughout the day. I ate pretty light on the Monday, had some tinned mackerel and dates with almond butter and consumed 1200 calories but ate quite a bit on Tuesday, I wanna say 2300. I did eat some carbs on that Tuesday coming from tortillas as I had some tacos (I just couldn’t resi...

Nutrition Myths That Actually Make You WEAKER: what the science really says

5h ago

So I've been deep diving into nutrition science lately. Not the influencer BS or the "eat like your ancestors" garbage everyone preaches. I'm talking actual peer-reviewed research, podcasts with PhDs who've spent decades in labs, and books that made me question literally everything I thought I knew about food. Here's what shocked me: most of what we believe about nutrition is either outdated, misleading, or just flat-out wrong. The fitness industry profits off confusion. The more complicated they make it sound, the more supplements and meal plans they sell. But the truth? It's simpler than you think. And way less sexy. I've pulled insights from res...

How Do You Carb Cycle and Count Macros?

7h ago

**You carb cycle by alternating between high-carb days (200-350g), moderate-carb days (100-150g), and low-carb days (50-80g) throughout the week, while counting macros by tracking your daily protein, carbs, and fat in grams based on your body weight, activity level, and fat loss goal.** I've spent fifteen years watching people bounce between keto, low-fat, and plain starvation. The ones who actually lost weight and kept it off? They learned how to use carbs strategically instead of fearing them. Carb cycling paired with macro counting is the closest thing to a cheat code for fat loss I've seen in practice. Let me walk you through exactly how I set this up for real people with real...

Cat diagnosed with anemia and I am debating end of life options.

8h ago

I am 27 years old living in the USA. My cat Nef is 6 years old, spayed and 2 days ago was diagnosed extremely anemic. As I write this post I am incredibly upset so bear with me please. Last week my husband and I noticed our normally fat, tearing through the food bag, extremely active cat was looking a little skinny. She started to sleep constantly, hide in places she normally wouldn’t be, and throwing up bile. After bringing her to the vet 5 times in the past week, she was finally diagnosed with extreme anemia due to unknown causes as of now. She was given a 14 day antibiotic, a medication to help with her appetite, new food, and a strict 24/7 watch to ensure she doesn’t decline however ...

[UPDATE] MARCH 2026 Schedule

9h ago

We have been teetering on the knifes edge of normality for almost a decade now, conditions slowly materially declining but not rapidly enough for anyone to really sit up and take notice. That situation is what inspired my username, the idea that the developed world was coasting along in a liminal state and would eventually crash out when a systemic or resource shock broke the system enough. I thought that event was COVID, for a while, but underestimated the resilience of industrial civilization to bounce back from the supply chain crisis caused by a half-year bottleneck in global trade. Normality returned, even if "normal" was visibly crippled and worsened afterwards and we all kne...

MY CAT MIGHT BE OVER GROOMING BUT IM NOT SURE

11h ago

I adopted BELLA around 1 month ago, she was a stray for I don't know how long, the vet estimated her age to be around 2-4 years old. I adopted her a month ago and took her to the vet almost immediately after seeing her getting comfortable in my house. Long story short, I did every test possible and made sure to remark on doing EVERY test possible, I wanted her to be as healthy as possible. It cost me over 500 dollars and all the test came out negative. I got all her injections as well as a one month long pill that's supposed to be anti flea. I also got her neutered and she has completely healed already. I'm saying all of this because I can't understand the reason she is...
