Hobby Lobby Locations

I’ve been concerned about how much of this color (DMC 451) I had all day. I went to Michael’s earlier, but they were out of it (so I awkwardly decided which other color I supposedly needed because I feel so weird walking out of stores empty handed. Especially if you can’t reach the door without going through checkout) so I gave up. Could I have gone to hobby lobby? I guess. But I decided I’d chance it instead. I Went to the hobby lobby today. I had the worst time. It is the only place that I have gone to in months that I did not look for you. I walked the whole store. Sketching in my journal project ideas. It was so hard not to buy you something or be inspired to come up with a project that was not for you. It feels to me like I am growing up for you and at the same time drifting further away. I know Wal-Mart and Amazon has them for purchase and delivery for tomorrow; just looking to see if I can go buy one today in town somewhere. Wal Mart doesn't have these in their stores, and Home Depot has limited selection for the "pen-sized" soldering iron I'm looking to get. Maybe Hobby Lobby or Michaels or Lowes?

I’m super new to Fort Worth so I barely know the area. For any crafters in the group I would love to know the best places for supplies. Michael’s and Hobby Lobby have mostly awful products so please don’t suggest those. Other than like, boring stuff, hobby lobby is now a 7.2 BILLION dollar company. Up from 6.1 last year. It’s doing so well, probably because of Joan’s closing. Also the stores are FINALLY get tap to pay. They’ll be rolling it out over the next few months. Also becoming abundantly clear that David Greens (owner) kids are waiting him to retire or croak to move towards modernizing the systems and store in general. They’re being allowed to make more decisions (like Apple Pay, new register systems). One step closer to scanning!

This was in the background of one of my previous posts and got some love so wanted to share a better picture of it. This was a fun little painting I did of our senior boxer a few years back, she passed last year so it’s extra special to have now.❤️‍🩹 It was super easy to do, just printed out the face and booty profile, cut to size and traced/ painted on these oval canvases (from hobby lobby i believe) and then got these gorgeous frames from a local frame store ♥️

I see a lot of people recommending buying KnitPro needles and when I go to look them up a lot of the options are either KnittersPride (which I’ve tried and *****) or KnitPro (from Hobbii only) or KnitPicks (which I’ve never tried). They all look very similar - are they the same? Or am I not seeing something that makes them all significantly different? Which website is the best to buy off of? Seems like Hobby Lobby isn't going to carry Vallejo Paints anymore. They were the only store in my town to carry acrylic model paint unfortunately. I picked up the last 39 my local store had for $0.99 each!

Where does hobby lobby/micheals get their feathers from? Are they always byproducts of the meat industry or do they source from companies who specifically farm for feathers?

Twice in the last seven weeks or so I have been to Michael’s craft store in Beechwood and had a large order at least $50-$75 or seven, and literally left them all on the counter and walked out because there was no one working at the registers and not an employee in sight, not one person asked if I needed help and there was no person around. They literally lost two sales in seven weeks from just me one person. Anyone else dealing with that there? I mean, I am leaving Michael’s and going to Hobby lobby right now just like I did last time. That store is gonna shut down any day. I can’t believe they’re lazy sales like that and just don’t care?

I don’t want to just throw away the money by tossing the \*\*several\*\* skeins to a thrift store. I bought it thinking it would make good dishcloths. Until I started working them up. But I’ve frogged many a dishcloth because they were misshapen because the yarn is so limp. It honestly didn’t feel that way on the skein in the store. I guess it’s best for clothing. Is there a secret to using it for dishcloths? I wonder if they will even be absorbent. \~\~\~ Thanks for the info!
