They appear to be another direct copy of the snap SKU 70400 Fortress 26 or 27?6d agoLooking to replace my 45 year old Montgomery Ward’s air compressor that is on its last leg. Either of these will suit my needs just fine. I’m a little leery of oil-free but I imagine they are a lot better than they used to be. The 27 is quiet enough and the 26 has enough SCFM. Since the price is the same, I am interested in what others think of these choices. Is one going to have better longevity than the other? Sentimental box modifications.10d agoThis is my dad’s old box and I’d like to continue using it for sentimental reasons if nothing else. Would I be able to mount the General Box and extra drawers on separate sides? I really need the extra space as I have inherited stuff over the years and it is shamefully unorganized. I remember him buying this in 82-84 I think from Sears. I recently put the red one on top for a few extra drawers. Thoughts? Thanks! Thanks to this sub, I got all of this $992 (including 8% sales tax) between November - January. Contrary to popular opin...11d agoI wanted to thank people in this sub for helping me transition from Makita to Team Red Milwaukee. I think I am done with my power tool purchases, and I learned a lot from many of you on what to get, how to get it, how to get a good deal, and how to wheel and deal on the parts of a bundle I didn't need. I never did do a "hack" by returning something to Home Depot. I'm sure many people can do it, but given my long purchase history with Home Depot, I didn't want to risk being that one guy that gets caught and banned. So I went after the special bundles that couldn't be hacked, and just sold off the items I didn't want/need on OfferUp and FMB, based on a lot of... Die grinder suggestions22d agoFor context, I have a husky 60 gallon 175 PSI standing compressor so running air tools is no problem for me. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this die grinder or any McGraw air tools and what their thoughts are. Reviews seem good but would like some extra input or maybe some recommendations on some decent die grinders. Don’t want to cheap out and get absolute junk, but I also don’t want to be spending $400 on a snap on lol. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks! Welder help!22d agoBuying a HF welder tomorrow, currently shopping this one. Will be used for project car. Think body repair, light subframe work, and a few other items like that. Any recommendations or am I on the right spot? I just don’t know if the 240v will ever be necessary or if it’s a good idea even if it’s just in case things ‘heat up’ Edit: thoughts on HF PPE or go somewhere else? Is my Avanti airless sprayer toast?23d agoSprayed about 60 gallons of PVA and superpaint in my shop interior. On the last bucket of paint I realized the mesh screen had broken off the suction inlet. Sprayed just fine the whole project. As I was cleaning the sprayer I could no longer get it to prime or spray, even after priming with mineral spirits and water. Cleaned out all filters and discovered a small shred of a paint rag in the inlet elbow. Now I’m getting a burning smell when attempting to prime or spray. Can I replace the pump? Is the motor serviceable? I’d take it back but I already am on my warranty replacement on this unit. Maddox OBD2 reader options23d agoUpcoming sale has all Maddox auto tools 35% off starting Monday for ITC members. So I'm trying to decide between these 2 cheapest scanners. Only difference other than screen size I see is the $45 one 'displays' live data while the $90 one has 'streaming' live data. Any other differences? Which would you pick/do you have? Not a professional, just want it for my personal Jeep Cherokee XJ. Maybe a silly question24d agoWas hoping to find a site or service that would alert me when certain things are on sale. There's a few items I'd like to get that don't go on sale very often, and there's no way to set an alert in the harbor freight app or website. Sorry if this has been discussed before I didn't see it. I'm familiar with the flip coupon tracking sites but they can't offer individual item tracking. Anyone know of a way other than religiously checking the hundreds of coupons every week?
