Where to buy Weetabix?

11h ago

Extremely random, but thanks to my TikTok page, I’m on a very specific food-based hunt! Are there any grocery stores or speciality British/Canadian stores that would sell boxes of Weetabix cereal in Pittsburgh? Has anyone bought it in the greater Pittsburgh area? I know Giant Eagle has their “international” aisle but figured that might not include UK-based food (maybe I’m wrong!)

When did the old Bridgeville location open?

2d ago

Hello! I'm currently working on a project and I've been trying to find when the Chuck E Cheese in Bridgeville first opened. I'm trying to find information on the one that was where the Fine Wine and Good Spirits store is now by the Giant Eagle. If anyone could let me know the year that would be awesome.

List of drama-free superchargers for non-Tesla vehicles in the United States

4d ago

Just a quick note: Tesla drivers have been very polite to me in real life. I just find blocking two spots to be very awkward when there is a line and prefer to have an alternative that doesn't involve having repeated polite conversations with every understanding Tesla driver who arrives after me. Also: yes, I'm aware of non-tesla fast chargers, I post a report of them once a month. Okay, moving on: "What is a drama-free supercharger?" A Tesla supercharger that: * Allows at least some non-Tesla vehicles to charge (with a NACS adapter, or with Magic Dock). * Has a long cord (a V4 supercharger). This means everyone should be able to charge their vehicle without taking up...

Malleys announces first Non-Family President: Hot Take

5d ago

Malleys Has announced a new president! Personally, I think its great to get a pair of fresh new eyes on the industry as the family was loosing interest. You can tell they are making big moves by appearing in heinens, giant eagle, etc and partnering with Uncle Crunch and fritos. Its cool to see, however I will say the private equity part that helped with this makeover was terrible. The new president seems intelligent but Im not sure they are aware of the nostalgia Malleys brings and they are looking to millenial graywash but in reality marketing trends show nostalgia is the best move for younger generations. Whats everyones options on this? I believe they did the right thing to keep the busin...

Please report and discuss what interesting products you're seeing at stores today. Many Giant Eagle stores (mostly in Columbus and now in the Northeast) and Ale Wine and Spirits have an arrangement with the state to delay visibility of certain products in their online inventory until Saturdays even if it was delivered to the store earlier in the week. These stores may also hold back some of the rare bourbons that they receive in their weekly delivery to [release on Saturday](https://www.reddit.com/r/OhioLiquor/comments/i01v77/saturday_release/) mornings. Many highly allocated products are still fully hidden on OHLQ.com but I don't fully understand the logic behind it yet.

Disappointed with the new GE Market District in East Liberty

7d ago

Went in the new Giant Eagle at Penn and Shady. I know this is an urban location and will be more compact as a result, but I was overall pretty disappointed. The store didn’t feel/look very new, it felt as cramped as the Squirrel Hill GE, the produce looked terrible (for what I looked at), and ultimately I don’t even understand why it’s branded as a Market District. I’m surprised it doesn’t have a bar, expanded sections for cheese/etc, or even scan&go or curbside pickup (maybe adding later?) Obviously I wasn’t expecting direct competition with TJs/WFs, but I did expect more given the location and brand new building. They are passing out $10 off $50 coupons in store though...

I can’t ever move out of Pittsburgh because of Eat n’ Park cottage cheese

9d ago

I understand that some people have strong feelings about cottage cheese (mostly that it’s gross) and I have some of my own. I have tried so many different kinds and nothing hits the same as the Turner’s Eat n’ Park cottage cheese. Other brands are too ~wet~ or the curd is too soft or too big. I have found out recently that I can buy a tub of it at my local grocery store and my entire life has changed. Eat n’ Park cottage cheese just has the perfect texture, it’s not watery and gross every time i open the container, it’s literally just the ideal cottage cheese and no one can tell me otherwise. That being said, I am having the realization that I may never be able to leave Pitts...

Lipase List Updates - Detergent Tab - November 2025

**Lipase List Updates - Detergents Tab - November 2025** [The Lipase List](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oHWzZ1Sth0Y0J2ynmXFl7M4mGZe-T_MJ_m_Y39pfBug/edit?usp=sharing) I still want to migrate to a better platform and be able to handle community submissions better.  But I also want to at least get current with what I’ve made notes about, so here’s the new list: twenty-two glorious new listing for your laundering pleasure. Brief notes about each new entry follow. # Structural Updates: * Detergent tab now has a column for “Wool-Safe / Protease-Free” - Products with a Yes here can be used for routine treatment of animal fibers including wool, cashmere and silk.  As with ...

It's a [whole fish](https://share.google/sRhDCVXlPB3bIWKub), in plastic. Between 9 and 11 bucks. I just slice it across its length into "steaks". You get at the meat, avoiding a few bones, pull the spine and some bones out. The cold smoked has a fatty meat that you can almost spread on bread. The hot smoked is flakier (not my preference). After eating the meat, you're left with a piece of skin. I then chew on that piece of skin (you can't really eat it), releasing a wonderful burst of fish fat. It's kind of the fish equivalent of bacon. Just wanted to share this treat. I assume the fish fat is good for you, but it is high in salt and has that smoke in it, so I ...

Why does Giant Eagle smell the way it does?

17d ago

I know this is probably gonna really upset some people, but try to look past the first reaction. I'm not trying to say anything about the store. But seriously, all of them smell the same way and it's just so noticeable every time I go in. And the other grocery chains don't smell the same way - from WF, to Kuhns. Is there something of it been going on at the warehouse for so long that it just kinda gets into all the stores?

How are you guys finding fresh fruit here?

17d ago

I moved here about a month ago, and my only real complaint so far is my inability to find good fruit. Every store I go to seems to only have fruit that’s moldy, bruised, weeping, or one day away from going bad. I’ve only been able to find apples and bananas. I’ve tried Giant Eagle, Marc’s, Aldi, and Walmart and none of them have very good fruit. Is there somewhere else I should go?

[Request] USA to USA - regional grocery store Mac & Cheese

18d ago

Hey everybody, My wife and I are currently attempting to try every boxed mac & cheese that we can find, with an updated spreadsheet as we go. Obviously we’re limited to what we have locally and what we can find when we travel. We’re currently up to ~50 different boxes in our pantry that we’re taste testing as we can, but would love to keep bringing in options that we don’t have near us. I found a Wikipedia page with a list of various regional grocery stores, and many of these have their own brand. If you happen to shop at any of these, we’d love to either do an exchange with you by sending you some of our regional options in return, or just paying you for the product and s...

I am looking for falafel mix

18d ago

Look. I know this is a **** post. I used to live by a shop n save and they had this cheap falafel mix where you just added water. I loved it because I could also add in onions or whatever else I wanted. It was a quick and easy dinner. I've since moved away and I can't find it anywhere. According to giant eagle's website, they sell a falafel mix at their market districts for $7.99, but I don't live particularly close to a market district. I live on the north side and have checked out multiple Kuhns and Shop n Saves and have never found it. I don't even know if they still make it. Does anyone know of any grocery store, other than GE Market Districts, that sell this?

Supermarket to host 'Double Exchange Day' for pennies

18d ago

A supermarket chain operating across several states in the Northeast is tackling the [current penny shortage](https://thehill.com/homenews/nexstar_media_wire/5563641-how-the-growing-penny-shortage-may-impact-you/) by hosting a “Double Exchange Day” for customers. Shoppers at Price Chopper and Market 32 stores, which can be found in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont, are being asked to bring in loose or wrapped pennies in exchange for a Price Chopper [gift card](https://thehill.com/business/5580030-pennies-gift-card-exchange-giant-eagle/) worth double the value of their change. “Exchanges must total a minimum of 50 cents (earning a $1 card) ...

My limited options for HRT feel sketchy, so I wanted to get y’all’s opinion.

19d ago

So I’m 15 and desperately need to start T, and the ONLY place that provided HRT for minors in my area (UPMC) made it 19+ in April. Since then, I’ve been searching for anything else, and stumbled upon TrueU. Feels a little sketch, but it seems okay enough and it accepts minors in my state since my state hasn’t banned it. I am currently working on getting the recommendation letter and gender dysphoria diagnosis required. The only way I’m ever going to afford it, however, is to use some sort of coupon thing like GoodRX. I’m a little suspicious of them and have heard conflicting things, but I fear it’s my only option. My insurance would not cover any of it because my insurance is t...
