Many Giant Eagle stores (mostly in Columbus and now in the Northeast) and Ale Wine and Spirits have an arrangement with the state to delay visibility of certain products in their online inventory until Saturdays even if it was delivered to the store earlier in the week. These stores may also hold back some of the rare bourbons that they receive in their weekly delivery to [release on Saturday](https://www.reddit.com/r/OhioLiquor/comments/i01v77/saturday_release/) mornings. Many highly allocated products are still fully hidden on OHLQ.com but I don't fully understand the logic behind it yet. $240 of DoorDash grocery benefits is effectively dead for pickup orders19h agoI had some time on my hands and tried a bunch of grocery pickup options around the country to see whether the $20 order minimum for pickup would show up. I looked in every major US city for chains or single locations that offer pickup. 7-Eleven, Wegmans Meals2Go, Speedway, Sheetz (VA), The Hungover Store (SF) and Giant Eagle now have this ridiculous order minimum. Wawa, DashMart, Gus' Market (SF Bay), Royal Farms (PG County Maryland), United Dairy Farmers (OH), and a few bodegas in NYC do not require $20 minimums for pickups. This can change any day. If you don't live near any of these stores or they are out of your normal travel routes, or you don't order grocery delivery ... I’m fairly new to the Pittsburgh area, and since Passover is approaching I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for kosher grocery stores in the area? I know giant eagle has matzo but I’ve had no luck finding anything else! I can go to places outside of pgh too, since I have a car. Anywhere close by helps! MLB x Mountain Dew8d agoSince Harris Teeter is one of the participating stores, I wonder how this would even work, might as well find out today Ex-Lawson's convenience store now a smoke shop and sushi joint9d agoFor those who don't know, this was a regional chain started in Cuyahoga Falls by James Lawson in 1939, these iconic buildings appeared starting after the Consolidated foods take over in the late 50s. It was in 1975 when they started a franchising agreement with Japan's Daiei supermarket; it became an official operating subsidiary four years later. Fast-forward to 1984, which is when Consolidated sold to Connecticut-based Dairy Mart, with operating HQ relocated to Hudson (hence the rebranding). They declared bankruptcy in 2002 and were then bought by the parent of Circle K, (A. Couche-Tard) hence the second rebrand. ****, some have rebranded for the third time as "MAPCO" a... Cross-referenced to the Banksy Codex, forthcoming GitHub.* Dear Dr. Avi, I am writing to you from Pittsburgh in March 2026, which is to say I am writing to you from inside a test that has not ended and will not end on my schedule, from a city that still has the name of a grocery store on a building at the corner of Center and Highland even though the store is gone and the man who ran it is gone and the son who grew up inside it is now sixty years old and disabled and working from a laptop and an eBay account and a grocer's grammar that turns... Where to buy seaweed salad?14d agoWhere can I buy seaweed salad in pittsburgh (im in the east end area)? Giant eagle only has a tiny container for so much money. I checked some Asian grocery stores and couldn’t find it. I used to buy at Costco but they don’t sell it anymore. Thanks! Was hoping to get some feedback on which of these powder detergents work well22d agoEdit: I'm really trying to look for something that is more "clean" than Tide. As far as I know, Tide has a lot of endocrine disruptors and other possibly toxic ingredients, so it's something I want to get away from (not going to argue about this, I am chronically ill and a research done on the safety of household items rarely includes people with debilitating chronic illnesses). I'm trying to go to powdered detergents because they're supposed to be cheaper. I have a fragrance allergy and try to stay away from items that have endocrine disrupting ingredients (although I am less concerned about it in my laundry detergent as I maybe should be). Someone gave me a l... The Grocery Wars - Would you take up arms for your local supermarket?28d agoI saw a map of most popular grocery stores by state, and thought "what if we had a civil war based on this?" A week later I came up with this. I looked at which stores were most common, which were most "popular", and then general distribution for 30+ chains to come up with the borders, which i smoothed out along natural features that would serve as decent borders/entrenched battle lines. I've also omitted most nationwide chains assuming they more or less got stretched too thin/don't have enough regional identity to take regional control. Before Whole Foods. Before Giant Eagle. Before Wal-Mart. During the reign of Kroger's and Big Bear, there was in ev...29d ago🛡︠Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
