This is by no means a professional project nor is this table real wood. The table was bought from Ashley Furniture a few years ago but suffered a nail polish remover spill and a model glue spill. I just want to bring the surface back to looking good. I think it is veneer but it is textured. Is Restore a Finish my best bet or it there a better way to go?

Lets talk about furniture stores in the area. Pros, cons, good experiences and bad. Try to elaborate other than just saying "don't go to X" or "Y is best". We're currently shopping for a big sectional. Possibly reclining but I get nervous about longevity with moving parts and motors. Household (American)? Shunks? Gartners Gallery (new place at the old Kubota)? Ashley? Creative Interiors (Harvey)? Are there any other places in the area, Negaunee or Ishpeming?

So the other day I got this free power recliner. I got it free because the lady's cat chewed up some wires and the chair now no longer works. I see where 2 things happened a black wire got cut which I can repair that easy. The one I can't figure out is this yellow clip in the phot you can see the wires we're cut (chewed) 1/4 in from yellow plug and I'm not sure where they connect too. The manual is no help and neither is Ashley furniture because the item has been discontinued and they don't have parts anymore. This set is the Ralene Ashley Furniture Butterfly Extendable Table. I figured the piece had veneer since online it states it to be engineered wood and veneer. I wanted to fully refinish this/make it a long-term 10+ year long table I love. I didn't know before this how much I dislike MDF. I tried to be careful with the veneer top but sanded through the siding because I thought it was solid wood. I am in Minnesota, and would prefer a shelving unit with 2ft w × >=1ft D × >=6ft H dimensions. (I am flexible if the depth and or height are greater, however the shelf cannot be any wider than 2ft because it'd covered an outlet) I am looking more for functionality than style, but would prefer at least six shelves with equal spacing. I have attempted to go on Google, eBay, and Facebook Marketplace to locate a shelf. Target, Ashley, and Unfinished Furniture of Wilmington get close, but the Width is usually off. My husband and I weigh about the same- both around 320lbs. Looking for decently priced furniture that is comfy and will actually hold up.
