Florida’s Beloved Publix Slammed as $61 Steak Sparks Outrage, Workers Say They Can’t Afford Groceries at Store They ...4h agoFirst time visiting Australia— WHAT SHOULD I KNOW?4h agoHi Reddit! I (24 y/o F) have a trip planned with my boyfriend (turns 27 during the trip) to visit Brisbane, Byron Bay, and Gold Coast. We are coming from America. This is our first time is AUS. What should I know? What should we do? We have a few things booked already but we have a lot of free time. Is there anything you would recommend? Food, stores, markets, music, nightlife, bars? What is one thing we shouldn’t leave Australia without doing?? Multiple Downtown Houston buildings being converted to Residential4h agoHey everybody! Wanted to post this update on HAIF, but due to a hacker; the websites down. Hopefully Editor can have the website host quickly rectify the issue On another note, there has been quite a bit of discussion in the higher ups regarding conversion of Class B, and low occupancy office towers to Residential/Hotel. As we all know, Downtown needs more people even after the massive influx of residents (**Sidenote 1**, bottom of post), and an empty office building decreases massively in value w/o tenants resulting in lower tax revenue and spending in the area. This led to a study done by Downtown Houston and AECOM: [https://ctycms.com/tx-houston/docs/downtown-houston-office-conversion-s... My love/**** relationship with our union- rant4h agoI sincerely wish our union contract protected against walkouts/strikes. Our newest store director has managed to turn our store from one of the best in the district to one of the worse. They managed to stress out one of the leads who had been at this store since it opened so badly they walked out yesterday. No one ******* likes the store director. All they do is hide in their office, use the intercom to have other leads call them, and cut our hours so much that we literally have less than a skeleton crew. Our store is still catching up from them not letting our grocery team do picks for a month and a half. They screamed at our poor grocery lead because we followed their ****** commands. That... Monitoring prices across multiple EU countries is essential. # 2. Buy From Official Retailers First The safest and often cheapest option at launch is buying from: * Official brand stores * Authorized Eur... Ice, Ice Maybe? (The Cost of Certainty)4h agoI wrote a but if a blog that I hope helps demystify a bit of our recent snow experience. Sisyphus on Fort Road In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was punished by Zeus to roll a boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down every time he neared the top. Lately, that is pretty much how it felt to clear - or drive - Edmonton’s streets. Imagine the operator on Fort Road. They drive the route while the blade scrapes the ice. It can be tense, especially while the heavy snowfall is obscuring vision. But by the time they turn around for the return leg, the snow has already filled in behind them. The work never feels "done." It always feels like it is “perpetually going.” If you... Zion First Time Trip Report (long!)4h agoHello! This sub was so helpful to me in planning our first trip to Zion, so I wanted to share our experiences. This is probably way too long but hopefully helpful to some! A few general notes: We’re a family of 4 with kids 16 and 11, coming from the east coast. Also, I have to eat gluten-free, and also have a severe phobia about dropoffs, so I’ve given some info in case that’s relevant to others! **TL/DR Itinerary Overview:** * Tuesday: Landed in Vegas, drove to Springdale, picked up Narrows gear * Wednesday: The Narrows * Thursday: Watchman and Weeping Rock trails, Zion Canyon Hot Springs * Friday: E-bikes all day and Emerald Pools trail * Saturday: UTV Tour, Bryce Canyon 1/2... Got written up because I didnt memorize the new POS system on my own time4h agoSo apparently its my fault that I rang up a customer wrong the other day because I "should have studied" the new register system we got. My manager literally told me during my shift that I was expected to learn it at home since the tutorial they gave us wasnt enough. Like excuse me? You want me to sit at home watching training videos for a register system on my personal laptop for FREE? I've been working here for a while at a retail store and suddenly Im supposed to be doing homework for a job that barely pays enough to cover rent. The kicker is that half the buttons on the new system dont even work right and our manager knows it but corporate wants us to use it anyway. I tr... Deke hooked me up4h agothink I should sell it or is it worth using? Received Someone’s Walmart Dartmouth Grocery Bag4h agoPicked up an online grocery order earlier and when I got home I had my stuff plus a bag of someone else’s stuff. Called the store and explained, they took a list and said they would make it right. I think I’ll donate the stuff to someplace that can use it. A first, the service has usually been very good. i finally get why my mom used to plan dinners around grocery store sales4h agoi was at target just trying to grab some stuff for the week and i realized i was doing the thing. you know, that thing where you walk past the meat section and chicken thighs are on sale and suddenly your whole meal plan shifts around it. i used to make fun of my mom for this lol like just buy what you want?? but now im standing there with the target app open comparing unit prices and im like oh. OH. like im not even broke i have some money saved aside but theres something about actually adulting with your money that just hits different yknow bought like 3 packs of the chicken, meal prepped, and genuinely felt proud of myself. then i remembered i still have student loans and the high wore ... When your mother in Law is visiting from Japan4h agoMIL whipped this up with fridge and freezer leftovers. Didn’t have everything she needed but she made do. Wouldn’t let me run out to the grocery store to get the rest of the ingredients either. Nevertheless it was delicious. We had homemade miso soup as well as everything pictured. My wife wanted twice cooked pork/ ホイコーロー so that was the main though it’s Chinese. Though we had way more cabbage than pork in the freezer. Her chawanmushi was incredible. Last photo is a simple breakfast of salmon takikomi gohan that she whipped up. I ended a 10 year friendship because of a gift4h ago(Throwaway account) A little backstory beforehand. Her(29) birthday is a month before mine(29). For her birthday I bought a shirt she has been looking for since her favorite musician wore it (finally in stock in her size) and I also bought her a kinda pricey hoodie from the same brand. Aside from that, I went with her to the city to go see a show she always sees on her birthday, bought her a cake, and paid for her dinner. This is usually the kind of thing we did for each other for our birthdays. Before this, we already had plans to hang out on my birthday about two months prior. So onto my birthday. I decided to have a birthday dinner at a restaurant in her town (I had to travel 2 hours to... Freshly-ground nut butters4h agoHello! I was in Florida over the Christmas holidays and at The Fresh Market (a fancier grocery store there), they had machines to make your own nut butters like peanut, almond, and cashew. It’s probably the best nut butter I’ve ever had, super fresh with the perfect amount of grittiness and nothing inside except just nuts. Nothing in a jar remotely compares, and I’d love to find something similar in Montreal. I tried Bulk Barn for almond butter but I wasn’t impressed, the texture and taste wasn’t nearly the same, not sure if it was the machine or the quality of the nuts. Are there any other options in Montreal, either West Island, west end, or downtown? Thank you! My mom is obsessed with containers, doesn't matter what kind they are!4h agoHas been for a long time, now. It started in earnest when I was in my teens (I'm 36, now) and has grown since, getting weirder and weirder. Bags, boxes, plastic tubs, burlap sacks... She used to lift cardboard produce boxes from the produce department when she'd go grocery shopping. The store would let her get away with it, believe it or not. Everything, no matter the size, has to have a bag for it, or a box, though most of the time both. A bag of something is nestled in more bags, and stuffed in boxes, and THOSE boxes stuffed in another bag, like a sick version of nesting dolls. She has an entire building on our property filled to the brim with cardboard boxes of all types and si... Building a Profitable Operation with the Juwa Platform: A Distributor's Overview4h agoFor entrepreneurs and business owners looking to enter or expand in the sweepstakes space, choosing a platform with proven player demand is crucial. One such system that consistently ranks high in popularity is **Juwa**. Would My Job Situation Be a Turn-Off If I Started Dating?4h agoLately I’ve been wondering… is it a bad idea to start dating when my job situation isn’t the best? I have a degree in business from a good school, and my last job was in that field, but I got laid off not too long ago. Since then I’ve just been working at a grocery store. It doesn’t pay well—I’m only making a little above minimum wage—and honestly the job market right now is terrible, so I’m just doing what I can for the moment. Would it be a turn-off to someone to find that out? Would people think it’s weird that I have a good degree but I’m working at a grocery store right now? I know I’m working toward something better, but I’m curious how others see it. AITA for not serving anyone anymore4h agoI’ll try to make that one quick. I (17M) live with my mom and my sister (22). Sometimes my cousin (18F) and grandma come over to spend time with us. When they do come over they stay during whole weeks. Every time that anyone needs anything, I’m the one being called. When it’s about refilling ppl’s water bottles, I’m being called. When my mom is too lazy to pay bills, I’m the one called to do it for her. When anyone is too lazy to buy something from the grocery store, they send me to buy it for them. I have a lot of other examples but I’m basically the servant of the whole family since I was little. Recently, I decided that I had enough when my mom ordered me to re-design... 🛡︠Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
