I sincerely wish our union contract protected against walkouts/strikes. Our newest store director has managed to turn our store from one of the best in the district to one of the worse. They managed to stress out one of the leads who had been at this store since it opened so badly they walked out yesterday. No one ******* likes the store director. Picked up an online grocery order earlier and when I got home I had my stuff plus a bag of someone else’s stuff. Called the store and explained, they took a list and said they would make it right. MIL whipped this up with fridge and freezer leftovers. Didn’t have everything she needed but she made do. Wouldn’t let me run out to the grocery store to get the rest of the ingredients either. Nevertheless it was delicious. We had homemade miso soup as well as everything pictured. My wife wanted twice cooked pork/ ホイコーロー so that was the main though it’s Chinese. Hello! I was in Florida over the Christmas holidays and at The Fresh Market (a fancier grocery store there), they had machines to make your own nut butters like peanut, almond, and cashew. It’s probably the best nut butter I’ve ever had, super fresh with the perfect amount of grittiness and nothing inside except just nuts. Nothing in a jar remotely compares, and I’d love to find something similar in Montreal. I tried Bulk Barn for almond butter but I wasn’t impressed, the texture and taste wasn’t nearly the same, not sure if it was the machine or the quality of the nuts. Lately I’ve been wondering… is it a bad idea to start dating when my job situation isn’t the best? I have a degree in business from a good school, and my last job was in that field, but I got laid off not too long ago. Since then I’ve just been working at a grocery store. It doesn’t pay well—I’m only making a little above minimum wage—and honestly the job market right now is terrible, so I’m just doing what I can for the moment.
