Is Meow Wolf vegan?

2h ago

I'm looking into the Las Vegas Meow Wolf "Omega Mart" thing but really trying to avoid any spoilers. Since I'm trying not to learn too much about it, I'm not sure what I might not be thinking of when considering whether it's a vegan activity. Since it's grocery store themed, it occurred to me that it might involve food? Like if they use meat as part of the art, I may not want to go. Basically I'm looking for any advice from a vegan perspective, and whether anyone knows any reason it might not be considered vegan. I'm aware they sell some food items that aren't vegan, but that's fine.

I literally made my own sub and this happened— I only took a picture ( like 4 on Reddit) and it’s a Reddit called who do I look like? I expected answers but what I really got was a bunch a flirting and a lot of people calling me cute, adorable, sexy, etc—!! Some of yall need to stop believing the wrong things cause then it’ll affect your belief and then nothing goes right. This is just my opinion, but this “*sub maker* doesn’t work” has gotta stop frfr.

ICE Agents Raid a Church With No Explanation

2h ago

The arrival of masked federal agents at a church in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday sent some worshippers fleeing into the woods while children sobbed inside, witnesses told The Charlotte Observer. The ICE agents, who mobbed a group of church members doing yard work, did not ask any questions or make any attempt to identify themselves before arresting one man. The Observer did not report the name of the church. The church’s pastor, who told The Observer he did not want to identify himself, said that agents threatened to arrest other church members, and were physically aggressive. “Right now, everybody is scared. Everybody,” he said. “One of these guys with immigration, he s...

San Jose nonprofits help families with food and groceries

2h ago

The recent initiatives by Grail Family Services and Sacred Heart Community Service in San Jose to combat food insecurity underscore a pressing socio-economic issue that resonates deeply within the Bay Area's real estate landscape. As two nonprofits provide essential groceries to struggling families, their efforts highlight a critical intersection of housing, economic stability, and community well-being—elements crucial for any sustainable residential market. Food insecurity often correlates with housing instability, which is a growing concern in the Bay Area. The region's housing crisis has been characterized by soaring prices and a scarcity of affordable housing options, pushin...

TL;DR: I went to bed late, woke up super early and due to life, haven't been able to get any more sleep. My tires are flat, the tire shop can't see me til early December, my cat peed on my bed, including the only set of bedding that fits our new mattress and our shredded memory foam pillows, the local laundromat didn't have any available washing machines, and my 3-month-old phone basically died for no discernible reason. Please feel free to share your own stories, rants, vents, and tales of how your Monday has been going or what your worst days were in commiseration. --- So I took my Vyvanse super late yesterday because I accidentally slept in until 11:30 am. Normally, I ...

The Loyalty of Beasts

2h ago

It was raining again in New Calliope. It usually did, nothing new. What had been new for the last two weeks was the beast. The beast sat alone, even in the rain. It had a shelter nearby, but it did not often return to the shelter. It sat outside of it until overwhelmed by hunger or weariness, then it returned grudgingly, before lifting itself up for another day of vigil. New Calliope was an always-changing yet never-changing enigma. A den of scavengers like those found in the backwater regions of any industrial sector. An inhabited pile of ramshackle huts and containers where the unwanted things – and unwanted beings – ended up almost by an inevitable inertia, some subtle calculus of r...

38 - Nectar

2h ago

## 38 - Nectar “This should be the place, right?” “Looks like it.” The shop we’d been told about wasn’t far at all—we found it after only a short walk. It was a large, two-story building, lively with people coming and going. “Seems like a popular one,” Kaldeno remarked, flicking her wolf-like ears toward the bustling entrance. “Yeah, looks busy. Let’s go in.” “Right.” The entrance was wide open, and the moment we stepped inside, we were met by a cheerful din of conversation and the clatter of footsteps. The air smelled faintly of dried herbs and fruit. Unlike the usual shops, most of the goods weren’t stacked on tall shelves but laid out in baskets and bo...

I started a strange one-sided game of "penance" with my bf, and I have to say that... I recommend it

2h ago

I don't know how it all started, but now he knows that when he does something that could somehow cause me problems there are "penances" but he has gotten used to all this and never directs the game at me. Every Saturday night last year, my friends and I would bring the Game of the Goose with us, and for those who know it, you know that in some squares there are "penances", and we would invent some kind of obligation that might have been fun, like taking off our clothes or doing karaoke or singing a trap song to some random group out of nowhere or whatever. From there, our gambling addiction amplified and we started betting on small things, like: "Do you think t...

The Reddit Content Marketing Strategy For Indie Apps

2h ago

I want to give back to the community and provide my new strategy for growing my app on Reddit. I’ll provide some background and then some more tactical things below. Just to show you where I’m at: I’m working on a language learning app that has \~200 users with 5 of those being paying users. Tiny app and I’m very new to business and marketing, probably like many here. App has been out a few months. This gives me no credibility with many and a little credibility with some. There’s not a ton of info on tiny apps with little revenue like mine. However, I feel like most people here and in other subreddits are in similar situations looking for ideas, so that’s why I’m posting th...

Where can I buy Tarboush and Dabke outside of Lebanon

2h ago

I live outside Lebanon and want to have these Lebanese sweets and more but can't find them at my local halal grocery store, which usually has Middle Eastern products, and Amazon does not have them either. Please help a fellow Lebanese find these gems!

I am lost in life and have no idea how do I improve my career.

2h ago

I (23F) came to America 4 years ago. Now I am trying to get my GED because my highschool certificate couldn’t transfer to here. I have been working at Amazon for 3 years, now I make 24.5$/hr. Before this I used to work at local grocery stores as a shop clerk. I started working after 2 months of being here. Yes Amazon does pay good and have good benefits but it’s mentally and physically draining. Especially the department I work in, if anyone knows I work in Shipdock/Tranship and drive pit(forklift) mainly. The problem is I am 5ft and 85lb. And where they put me daily requires lifting a lot of heavy weights. Hauling pellets full of totes. I can’t keep doing this and continue breaking my...

27 - Library, Part 2

2h ago

## 27 - Library, Part 2 In the end, I found myself drawn to the section on plants. I settled into a chair at the far end of one of the long tables. After flipping through a few books that caught my eye, I realized Kaldeno wasn’t sitting—she was standing behind me, as always, her posture rigid and watchful. “You’re not sitting?” I asked. “Not here,” she replied. That gave me pause. She had never mentioned anything like that before. Curious, I glanced around the library. “If a slave were to sit in a place even the nobility frequent… who knows what they’d say,” she explained, her eyes sweeping over the room. Looking around, I noticed she was right. Near the few seate...

Shot Four Times, Reported Dead — Then Helped Found the First Incorporated Black Town in America

2h ago

I stumbled onto this piece of forgotten history while researching soldiers from the Third Maine Infantry Regiment (my long-running passion project), and I thought folks here might appreciate it. **Henry H. Shaw of Woolwich, Maine,** enlisted as a corporal and eventually rose to sergeant. Over the course of the war he was shot four times in three different engagements—including at the Peach Orchard at Gettysburg. That wound was so severe that newspapers back home actually reported him dead. But he survived and returned to duty. After the war, Shaw joined the Union League and headed South during Reconstruction. He ended up in **Tarboro, North Carolina**, where Governor William W. Holden ap...

How did people back then survive?

Our modern age seems to be conveniant: fridges, cars, ,phones, grocery stores etc. We have laws, we have rules, we have social media. But why does this life feels like such a pain? I often find myself wishing to be born maybe thousands of yrs ago. Just having a rough day.

How do I find better path for my life?
