I just paid $780 dollars to have valve cover gaskets replaced on my 2006 Toyota Highlander yesterday. I picked up the vehicle this afternoon, and drove it to get groceries. When I came out of the store a half hour later, this puddle was forming under my Highlander. The oil level was low, and the vehicle would barely start. Did they just do a shoddy job installing the gaskets or did the mechanic leave the oil drain plug off (is that even something that would need to be removed for this job)?
