1st Time in the USVI review

2h ago

My wife, and two young adult boys just got back from a week long trip to the USVI and I'd love to go back. We flew in to STT and stayed in Cowpet Bay. Driving a rental from the airport to Cowpet Bay was nerve-racking and wasn't helped by driving a ****** Bronco. Jeeps and Broncos must be the official rental car of visitors while locals seem to prefer Tacomas or other small Toyotas. Also is there a lack of autobody shops in USVI? Driving on the left takes a minute to get used to but the tiny, curvy, mountainous, switchbacks, and potholes **** and the locals who know the roads aren't too happy with slower drivers. I think we used 1/4 tank during out 7-day visit and it was ...

Zcash: A Hedge Against BTC

2h ago

The following is an excerpt from Messari’s “The Crypto Theses 2026.“ You can find the full report here: https://messari.io/report/the-crypto-theses-2026 Among all the cryptoassets outside BTC and ETH, ZEC’s monetary perception shifted the most significantly in 2025. For years, ZEC sat outside the cryptomoney hierarchy, viewed as a niche privacy coin rather than a monetary asset. However, as concerns surrounding surveillance and the institutionalization of Bitcoin accelerated, privacy resurfaced as a core monetary property, rather than a niche ideological preference. Bitcoin has proven that non-sovereign digital money can function at a global scale, but it failed to preserve the pri...

Extreme Aversion to People

2h ago

How to deal with extreme aversion to people? I **** talking to people. Even sometimes my husband, friends, and family. I feel like everything I say is ****** or cringe or doesn’t make sense to the point where I dissect every social interaction I have to see where it went wrong. I **** living with other people. I love peace and quiet. I cannot cook in a kitchen if people are in there, especially if they are talking. I **** grocery stores and malls so much. I **** being around people. When I’m speaking, I feel like I’m pretending to be someone. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been this way. As a kid, I refused to say trick or treat during Halloween because I was so nervous. Now I’m 2...

Where to buy Caribbean/Guyanese produce

3h ago

I recently moved to Raleigh full time. I am half Guyanese and want to be able to make my food. Over the years when I’ve just been visiting here I’d go to Food World in Durham for all my Guyanese and other West Indian items but obviously it closed a while ago. I can find most of what I need from various international food markets but not actual Guyanese stuff. Has anyone had luck finding specifically Guyanese stuff (champions chow mein, chiefs, cassreep etc) in any stores here? I seem to only find Jamaican Also if you know of any Trini or Guyanese places to eat, please share!

Testing t-shirt designs

3h ago

Hey all, I’m pretty new at POD. Have like 12 good t-shirt designs in my Shopify store at the moment and been posting on social media daily, also have a TikTok shop. But was just wondering how people approach testing to see if a design is a true winner. Are you spending a certain amount on marketing ads for a design on Meta and/or TikTok Ads and then seeing if it should be scaled? Do you test multiple versions of a design to see what’s best? Like changing colors, font, layout etc… Are you just testing organically with TikTok Shopable posts, IG posts etc… Just wanted to get some people’s experiences with this. Thanks in advance!

Beware of Endeavor Global in San Diego

3h ago

I have left a negative Google review twice, but it always ends up deleted. I just really wanted to vent about this fuckass place. I interviewed to be a marketing consultant, not to beg people in front of a Target for donations to a “nonprofit”. Oh, and you’re not paid for driving and mileage either. Run and do NOT come back! These people called me for a job interview and lied and told me it was a marketing firm and in reality, you stand out front of a store and bug people to donate to a charity. I would highly recommend that if you're looking for a legit job that doesn't mean standing in front of a store for 8 hours in the hot sun or pouring rain, you pursue another job enti...

San Francisco Told Me There’d Be Bottoms. I See Only Tops.

3h ago

Alright, SF — I need the city to explain itself. Please. I just moved here from New York about 48 hours ago. I’m 6'2", 230 lbs, former D1 football player, TOP, PhD, and recently “got fired” from a Very Large Tech Company™ (the kind where you can impulse‑buy a waffle maker, a kayak, and a medieval sword at 2am). Before moving, *everyone* told me San Francisco was overflowing with bottoms. Like, statistically impossible levels. A surplus. A natural wonder. A civic treasure. Yet somehow, in two days, I’ve met nothing but tops. Tops at the gym. Tops at the bar. Tops at the grocery store. I swear I saw a top working the front desk at my hotel. I didn’t even know that ...

Food safety issue suppressed by mods

Just wanted to make everybody aware that the mods are choosing which posts to take down regardless of whether or not they violate a policy. I posted this image to inform everybody about a cross contamination issue at a grocery store in Vaughan and it was taken down by the mods of this subreddit.

Customer tried to return a rotisserie chicken that was "too chickeny"

3h ago

I thought I had heard every ridiculous return excuse in my five years working customer service at a grocery store, but today someone brought back a fully eaten rotisserie chicken, just bones left, and said it was too chickeny and they wanted a refund. When I asked what that even meant, they said it tasted too much like chicken and they expected it to taste more like turkey. My manager actually approved the refund because it was not worth arguing. I **** retail so much lol. Moments like this make you question reality, because apparently food is only acceptable when it pretends to be something else and nobody wants to admit that logic is dead.!!

My personal tips on how to stick to your moving budget (learned the hard way)

3h ago

I’ve blown a moving budget more than once, and it never feels good. Every time I told myself, “This move won’t cost that much,” and then watched my bank account quietly panic. None of this is fancy or expert advice. It’s just what finally helped me stop overspending and start moving smarter. I'm writing it down so I remember for next time, but if it helps someone else, even better. **Track expenses earlier than you think you need to** The moment I even think about moving, I open the Notes app and start a list called “Don’t Let This Move Ruin Me.” Every dollar that smells like it’s related to the move goes on there. Packing tape? On the list. Trash bags? On the l...

With brands like Twopages, are stores like The Shade Store still relevant?

3h ago

I’m looking to add drapes and shades to my primary bedroom and family room. I’ve previously added window treatments to other rooms in my house by Smith and Noble, but they went out of business. I’ve also purchased drapes from Twopages, which I get so many compliments on - but I had to get the traversing hardware from Smith and Noble because I found the Amazon curtain rods weren’t sturdy enough. I scheduled a complementary consultation with the Shade store and the designer asked questions around my inspiration, colors, etc. I told her what colors I was thinking of for the space and she said she would send me some swatches. I didn’t think anything of it, because I assumed she would...
