Found at a local Asian grocery store1h agoI constantly live in fear1h agoHi everyone. I am looking for some advice today as i am entering new levels of anxiety that really begin to effect my day to day life. I would describe it as strong anxiety, that starts when i wake up in the morning and accompanies me until i go to bed. My work is not really helping, since my collegues are very loud and i'm more of a introverted, quiet person. I need to mask a lot and force myself to make eye contact until i'm so exhausted that i'm getting panic attacks and need to hide in the toilet/garage to breathe it away. Changing my job in the past didn't really help me, since this has now accompanied me for many years and different jobs as well. Recently i discov... Visa Inc - Not just a Credit Card network, It's a hyperscaler (Complete Understanding of the Visa's business m...1h agoThrough this post, I will try to make you understand the business model of Visa Inc and how dominant it is in the payments network and the finance industry. Visa is not just a credit card network now. When you take up the recent earnings calls of Visa, they claim themselves as a "Hyperscaler". In the general technology sector, a "Hyperscaler" refers to massive cloud service providers (like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) that possess vast computing infrastructure. They allow other companies to build software on top of their servers so those companies don't have to build their own data centers. How is Visa a Hyperscaler here? In this text, Visa is co-opting t... I absolutely love Mitsuwa Marketplace in Arlington Heights! It might be my favorite grocery store in the burbs. I took m...2h agoI really like the vibe of Mitsuwa. It’s one of the coolest grocery stores in the burbs in my opinion. I don’t know of many other Japanese grocery stores in Chicagoland so that already makes it stand out. It’s also really big and has a lot of brands that obviously aren’t readily available in other stores. I really love the food court in Mitsuwa as well. I struggle to think of many grocery stores that have one around here - and all the food is good. Mitsuwa is just a place in the burbs that I guess I appreciate and feels special to me. I tried to capture that on my vintage camera from 1975 - the Praktica LTL3 made in east Germany. Photos 1,2,4 are on the Praktica, and photo 3 is on my... Gen X/Y, please speak out on behalf of your younger coworkers2h agoThe grocery store I work at started cutting hours to reach their Q4 goals (meanwhile there is a "thx for your hard work" poster in the breakroom). They are only cutting hours of employees that have been there a couple years or less. I knew some of my younger coworkers were having a rough time so I started being vocal about how I thought it was bullshit. Some of my coworkers with seniority didnt even know this was happening, and offered to cut a few hours from their shifts as well so they would be able to stay a couple extra hours. I also recently got a raise. I told my Gen Z coworker that he works really hard and to go ask for one too (they got it). I dont think they would have as... Here is my take on Netflix2h agoAs of this week, [NFLX](http://localhost:5173/stocks/NFLX) has agreed to buy Warner Bros. Discovery’s studio and streaming business, including HBO / HBO Max, in a monster deal valued around **$72–83 billion**. Strategically, this is Netflix skipping a few levels in the media game and grabbing premium IP like Harry Potter, DC, HBO’s entire catalog, CNN, and a ton of long tail cable brands in one shot. Financially, you are looking at a balance sheet that will carry significantly more debt plus equity dilution to fund it, and a regulatory path that could drag into **2026** with real risk of concessions or a blocked deal. In other words, the upside story is “Netflix becomes the und... Sooo If we end up being best friends this post never happened lol2h ago32 M/US Not sure how adults are supposed to make friends, so I’m trying Reddit before I start talking to random people in grocery store aisles lol I like games, sports, music, art, fashion, and fitness. If that sounds like your vibe, let’s be awkwardly social together! Thanks for reading. I built a clean Google Sheet that highlights real demand without scrolling for hours2h agoI noticed that many people struggle to understand how Reddit works and how to speak to the audience there. It is a very different place compared to other platforms. The community looks for clear information and practical answers, and they respond well when you meet them at that level. This idea pushed me to build two tools that make it easier to reach the right audience without wasting time guessing, searching, and opening endless threads. **Stop guessing. Start finding real buyers on Reddit.** Reddit is full of people looking for solutions, yet finding the right conversations by hand can take a long time. The gaming market is definitely saturated with roguelites, which means there are a bunch of hidden gems that don't quite get the flowers they deserve. And to that end, I want to highly recommend The Void Rains Upon Her Heart for those that have not played it or heard of it. It is possibly my favorite roguelite of all-time despite it not quite getting the broad recognition it deserves, and despite it still being still in Early Access. The game is unique and should stand alone as a titan in the genre, so I don't want to compare it to other titles, but know that can be a good frame of reference for those that... Art Deco Ornamentation at the Warehouse Market, Tulsa2h agoA beautifully preserved slice of Tulsa Art Deco: the Warehouse Market’s intricate terra-cotta work. The building once anchored a massive 1930s grocery market and remains a standout example of PWA-era commercial design in the city. What's your favorite supplements?2h agoI take women Centrum silver(im not in my 50s. I take it bc it has the highest amounts of vitimins in it), 30k of biotin- both of which i get at the grocery store. I mix 20g of neocell super collagen peptides with a cup of unsweetened almond milk daily- ive found that its cheaper from the neocell website. I also take white bean carb blocker and CLA- both of which I get off Amazon. I used to also take a hair nails and skin multi vitamin, but have been lazy about getting it bc it's a little pricey at the drug store. Along with weight issues, I have had problems with hair fall. The collagen and biotin have helped a lot to combat my hair fall and it's definitely gotten thicker. I sti... Lookup and Modify workflows in Rust2h agoHello r/rust! This will be a long post, so the TL;DR: How to implement a lookup-modify workflow in Rust that is borrow-checker compliant, similar to C++ iterators? Basically have a function that would lookup an item in a container and return a handle to it, and then have another function that could accept that handle and modify the item. I have recently convinced my work to start a new module of our C++ piece of software in Rust and I am finally getting some first results and impressions on how Rust behaves in the production code. Overall, I must say the progress is smooth and I like it a lot. I have however one question to you all which is related to one particular workflow that I encount... Should i sell? or wait lol im so confused2h agoKorea’s Rice Prices Rise 24% Despite Oversupply: Concerns They May Increase Further Once the Revised Grain Management ...2h agoLast month’s producer-level rice prices were found to be 24% higher than a year earlier. Normally, prices fall starting in October when newly harvested rice enters the market, but this year the opposite is happening. Analysts say that because the government decided to isolate (purchase and store) 100,000 tons of the expected surplus crop, the market developed an expectation that government buying might further expand. Industry experts worry that once the revised Grain Management Act, which requires the government to purchase surplus rice, goes into effect next year, rice prices could rise even more. According to the National Data Service on the 1st, as of November 25, the producer-level w... 🛡︠Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
