Kids, when you buy new home (if you can even afford one in today's market), do yourselves a favor and invest in good tools. Don't put it off. My FIL used to get me tools for Christmas and I never appreciated why until I got older. Going to the hardware store multiple times in a day to fix something is a right of passage, but it also stinks. I'll totally be getting my own kids and their SO's tools as gifts, if they buy a home.
