I (F) have a crush on the owner (M) of a fitness studio I go to…don’t know how to progress it (or if i should)

2h ago

I was looking at merch at a local studio I go to when an attractive guy who’d been working in the back came over and asked if I had questions. I did, and we chatted briefly—and I got the surprising sense he might actually be interested. Surprising because I was sweaty, makeup-free, and mid-breakout—and, despite having been pursued by attractive, eligible men I know IRL over the years, I almost never get hit on in the wild. After I left, I did a little digging and realized he’s the studio owner and founder of a larger related business. From his public posts, we have a lot in common, which definitely piqued my interest. The next time I was there, I caught a glimpse of him as I was pa...

My girlfriend left me because I was a *****, 4 months later I’m unrecognizable :)

2h ago

Four months ago my girlfriend of 3 years left me and told me i was going nowhere with my life. She was right and it destroyed me. I’m 25 now but back then i was working at a call center making $15/hour, living in a ****** studio apartment, playing video games every night until 3am. Had been doing this for 2 years straight with zero ambition to change anything. For privacy reasons we’ll call her Sarah. Now, Sarah and i had been together since college. She graduated, got a real job at a marketing firm, started building an actual career. I dropped out junior year and just… stopped trying. Got the call center job because it was easy and remote. Told myself i was “figuring things out...

How our small team handles multi-account marketing & remote work safely

2h ago

Hey folks, thought I’d share what’s been working for our small marketing team lately. We’re a 4-person remote crew running ads and storefronts in multiple regions (tariffs made our old setup way too expensive), so managing all the accounts securely became a nightmare, with various logins, constant IP flags, and ad accounts getting randomly banned. We improved our workflow around Multi-account management: a few months ago, we switched to AdsPower to manage everything in one place. Basically, it lets us create isolated browser profiles for each platform or market, each with its own fingerprint and proxy. Everyone on the team has their own access level, and I can track who’s logged in w...

Manager is trying to get me to give her a network a vendors I developed on my own off the clock

2h ago

I work for a specialty retail store. A while back I was asked to do events for the store by a manager who also wanted to do events, and I really took off in that space. I threw tons of successful and popular events and started a series of craft fairs outside the store. The craft fairs have nothing to do with our stores specialty and was more of something I wanted to do on my own with our stores patio space for our community. My manager and store manager gave me the thumbs up and I went ahead and looked for vendors. It’s important to note that I found vendors off the clock by going to craft fairs and networking. I was never paid for this. I was also never paid for the craft events I did...

Shameful confession and paranoia

2h ago

I'm here unable to sleep, and it's over something silly. My mind suddenly filled with absurd thoughts. Maybe this isn't the group for this, but I think this is the result of a violent upbringing. I'm going to confess something embarrassing, and maybe I'll get criticized, but at the store where I buy my groceries, I've cheated a few times with a small item and stolen it, as if it were a distraction. Once, I got caught with something in my cart, and I just pretended to be distracted, paid for it, and that was it. The items are inexpensive foods, sometimes a little fruit or some garlic powder, and that's because everything is so expensive this year. I know...

Grocery Store Middles make no sense

2h ago

Me and the spouse were at the grocery store and had to pick up dog food. The pet food is co-located with laundry detergent....why? And what other weird assortments have people seen? The middle of grocery stores is a lawless island.

Why Foam Sleeps Hot (And What Actually Helps)

2h ago

Foam mattresses have a reputation for feeling cozy at first… then slowly turning into a heat trap at 2 a.m. That’s not in your head. It’s how foam behaves. The core issue is that foam is designed to *react* to you. It softens with heat and pressure, which helps with pressure relief, but that same reaction limits airflow and holds onto warmth instead of letting it escape. Here’s what’s really going on. --- ### Why foam builds heat * Foam lets you sink in, not rest on top. When your body settles into the mattress, more of you is surrounded by material. Less air circulation means your body heat has nowhere to go. * Foam absorbs heat to stay flexible. Especially memory foam. It wa...

Is this gig really worth it anymore?

3h ago

I've been doing Uber Eats for 8 years now and as the years go Uber has turned what was once a fun and easy way to make money into headache. This past weekend was an unpleasant adventure. For starters, I had Sephora pick up at a store that was inside a mall, It was Saturday night and to avoid traffic on the main roads I took some back roads to get to the mall quicker, but the being the last weekend before Christmas the roads leading to the park lots were packed. Uber then deiced to off my pick up and the supermarket pick I had after it to other drivers and hit my cancellation rate. When I called support to ask why, they said the route I took made the system think I was not going to make...

Something weird happened around Oct 10 — Bitcoin diverged from gold/silver/plat like it got its own memo. What gives?

3h ago

So[ someone shared this chart comparing the recent price action of gold, silver, platinum — and Bitcoin](https://x.com/CloutedMind/status/2003195873329844334) — and there’s a noticeable deviance around **October 10** where BTC starts drifting in a way that literally none of the other metals did. At first glance it looks almost like Bitcoin is on its own cycle entirely now — uncorrelated to what’s going on with the traditional “hard asset” cohort. Was BTC reacting to something specific (fund flows, news, sentiment shock) that metals didn’t care about? To me, the really interesting part isn’t the chart shape itself — it’s that the *story* behind the chart now matters m...

AITA for telling a customer to **** off after she grabbed me?

3h ago

I, 21, am working at a grocery store during the holiday rush. It's been stressful and I've already been having a really ****** day. Bad sleep, didn't eat breakfast and couldn't buy a proper lunch. The lunch I DID buy was an expired cupcake in a packet from the vending machine in our breakroom that gave me diarrhea and nausea. I'm exhausted, dehydrated, and so ready to just go home and be in my room. During the last 30ish minutes of my shift, a customer and her daughter (idk their ages) asked me where an item was. I was in the process of wrangling some gallon jugs into a shelf that absolutely *****. I told her I didn't know and went back to working because I...

*Idea* small packets of grease and other consumerables

3h ago

How often have you done a small project, but bought the normal can of anti-seize, cooper grease, or dielectric grease, leaving you with excess product on your shelf for years only to go unused. Business idea would be focused on small packets or tubes of consumables. Easy to handle, use, and discard. I know this exists out there, but I think solid branding and sales could bring this to all corners of the marketplace; thinking grocery stores, hardware stores, auto parts stores, pharmacies. Using a co-packer would be likely the best option. Is this too niche? Is this really only a viable product for a conglomerate?

Market block after purchase and refund

3h ago

Hello I have a question, I bought the iron beast pack from the PlayStation Store , in the Dutch description it clearly said gyroscope 2x , took a screenshot luckily, but it appears only to have 1 so I contacted PlayStation to point that out , they gave me money back and took the pack. I only wanted to point that out because it’s misleading. I used the seal from the pack to fuse but didn’t use coins that came with the pack . Because I still wanted the pack I bought it again and now I’m blocked from the market. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this undone? Never had the intention profit from this in any way just point it out that there was a problem in the store. Ty very ...

What is the coffee culture like in New Zealand?

3h ago

Hello from the USA! I was at a local grocery store today and came across Allpress Espresso, and noticed the label said it was made in New Zealand. It honestly might be the first NZ product I’ve ever seen in person, which got me curious. What’s coffee culture like in New Zealand? * Is espresso-based coffee (flat whites, long blacks, etc.) the norm? * Are there popular local roasters or blends people swear by? * Is Allpress something everyday people actually drink, or is it more of an export brand? * Are commercial coffee brands such as Starbucks or other vendors popular or do people make their own coffee? * How much money does the average New Zealander spend on coffee in a week?

"Whatever knows fear, burns at the Man-Thing's touch!"

3h ago

I actually remember reading Marvel's Man-Thing #1 (the one that began in 1979, not the 1974 run) from the grocery store comic-book rack when I was a kid. My family were first-gen immigrants to the USA and didn't have much money, so we couldn't buy frivolous things like comic-books. So, at the grocery store, I would read them as quickly as possible, but Man-Thing #1 made an indelible impression on me. The sequence where a couple of alligators attack the Man-Thing and he ends up immolating one with the mysterious burning power frightened and fascinated my young impressionable mind. Randomly wandering around in the Amazon (Amazon.com), I went down the animal toys rabbit-hol...

S&P 500 Nears All-Time Highs as Gold & Silver Mark Best Year in Decades

3h ago

![Market Update](https://s3.smartdeer.de/images/genai/mji6r00pcjqpz05lc65.png) U.S. markets are entering the holiday week with incredible momentum as steady futures push the S&P 500 within striking distance of a new all-time high. Simultaneously, a flight to tangible assets has driven **gold and silver** to record-breaking levels, capping off their best performance year in decades. The **S&P 500** is currently just 0.3% below its peak, fueled by investor optimism surrounding Federal Reserve rate cuts. **Gold and silver** prices have surged to new highs, marking their strongest year in over 40 years. In corporate news, **Alphabet (GOOGL)** made headlines with a $4.75 billion...

Got my first Kaweco and regret it

3h ago

I got swindled (not really, I’m a very easy sell) into buying a Kaweco DIY sport because the machine was leaving my local stationery store the next day — I got the 2024 Berry color which comes with a medium nib, and I find it too thick, and generally underwhelming. I even got the converter and everything. I have two Kakunos as my first fountain pens (which someone on this sub recommended as a first to over the Kaweco). I’m not sure if there’s really any resale market, or where I’d even sell it. Am I overlooking something obvious? Or should I have held out for a nicer Kaweco (or something else)? Honestly, I’m really into inks and should have just spent that money on a J.Herbin gla...
