Let's lay it down straight: my tastebuds are outta wack. We think it's some form of super tasting, but I don't think it's the bitter-related one everyone talks about because I. LOVE. CHOCOLATE. I can tell the difference between most brands (that I've tasted before) by taste alone, along with what I tend to think of as "cheap Easter dollar store chocolate". For those super nosy about my taste woes: most vegetables taste some form of "strange-tasting water", leafy greens specifically tend to basically just taste like grass (which I remember the taste of back when I would pull blades apart), most fruits are only sweet like terrible diet sugar is,...

Follow-up: Stayed on mobile, now wondering about Steam port - is there a market for semi-idle RPGs on PC?

11m ago

Hello! A while back I asked here about Is mobile game dev worth in 2026. Stayed on mobile, game is doing fine. Now considering a Steam port for my semi-idle RPG (3D top down, classless combat, guild wars, active or auto play). But I don't know the PC market. Questions: * Do PC players look for idle/semi-idle RPGs? * Is the "quick session or long grind" formula appealing on desktop? * Anyone ported a similar game to Steam? Worth it? Don't want to waste months porting if there's no audience. Any experience or data appreciated! If you want to check my game here is download link from Google Play. I Bought a Dead Pet Store From a Vet and Made $1,269 in 30 Days by Changing Nothing but the Positioning (Repost)

Most people assume the person who created the product is the best person to sell it. That assumption has killed more digital products than bad pricing, bad copy, or bad timing combined. After 3 years selling digital products through Reddit, I’ve seen it over and over. Great products. Zero sales. **The Setup** A few months ago, I acquired a digital store from a veterinarian. The product stack looked like this: • 64-page pet health guide (plain English, no jargon) • Audio narration for each chapter • Vaccination tracker + growth charts • Food safety cheat sheet • Illustrated first aid flowcharts The vet spent years in clinical practice. He knew exactly what new pet owne...

The Case Against Jumping into Hot Consumer Staples Stocks

15m ago

I can’t remember the movie's name, but I can relate to the opening scene. The guy is on an eight-lane highway in bumper-to-bumper traffic and keeps picking the wrong lane. Every time he changes lanes, the lane he just left starts passing him. Investors might be tempted to jump on the hot Consumer Staples trend right now, but like the guy in traffic, they might get passed by the sector they just left. The Consumer Staples sector is up over 12% year-to-date, ranking third after energy (20%) and materials (15%) among the eleven S&P 500 sectors. It’s tempting to overweight one's portfolio in that direction, but it might not be the best strategy. Stocks in the Consumer Sta...

What should I do? This looks nasty.

I'm trying to recreate a dish my Brazilian husband likes using an ingredient (Creme de Leite, if you're familiar) that I haven't been able to find here in the United States very easily. We've had luck finding similar options of other ingredients in the Mexican section of our grocery store. so we thought this seemed similar to Creme de Leite and decided give it a try. Bought 2 cans on Feb 7th, 2026. This is my FIRST TIME using this product. I opened the can on the left first, and immediately it didn't look like Creme de Leite. It's chunky, but also watery, gritty... It just looks weird and smells weird. I thought "maybe that's just how it comes and ...

Despite nationwide record wagered on Super Bowl LX, IL sports betting appears to be trending down - ABC Chicago

>CHICAGO (WLS) -- Super Bowl LX was not just a big win for the Seattle Seahawks, but also for sportsbooks. >The American Gaming Association estimates Americans legally wagered a record $1.76 billion on the big game. >But a new report from the Illinois Gaming Board suggests sports betting trends in Illinois are moving in the opposite direction. >Sportsbooks were betting big on celebrities for their [Super Bowl ](https://abc7chicago.com/live-updates/super-bowl-60-live-updates-bay-area-patriots-seahawks-levis-stadium-santa-clara-san-francisco/18496605/)spots, targeting a sports hungry audience with promotions, as the popularity of legal sports betting grows nation...

Torque wrench vs this thing?

19m ago

I’m in the market for a torque wrench, but let’s be clear and acknowledge that it would be exposed to shade tree use. Home mechanic, occasional YouTube-fueled car repair and maint. While at HF, I came across this gadget and I’m intrigued. Here’s my question: worth it? Would it likely be good enough for light-duty, home repair work, used with a 1/2” ratchet? Also, if I needed more leverage for higher torque specs, could it be used with a breaker bar instead? I like the fact that it’s cheaper than a whole torque wrench, also smaller for storing/transporting. But none of that matters, if it’s not good. Thanks for taking the time.

Anyone else’s nervous system feel threatened by intentional walks?

21m ago

I need some help y’all. For whatever reason walking for me that’s been intentional has been making my nervous system freak out. I can go down the stairs and walk to the kitchen and make food and do some dishes and load the dishwasher and come back upstairs and lay in bed and be fine and feel the same as I did before, same thing goes as for the bathroom. I can also go to the grocery store and get a few things and also go to a doctors appointment and then not feel sick afterwards. But the moment I go on just a 30 second intentional walk outside and I eat something and come back and lay in bed, my legs feel like I did an intense leg day out, and my head starts to hurt!!!!!! What am I doi...

Half of Russians reported not having enough money to replace furniture or go on vacation.

21m ago

Growing economic problems are increasingly impacting Russians' standard of living. Over the past two years, the proportion of families forced to forego basic purchases and habitual spending has increased, according to Rosstat's Sample Survey of the Quality and Availability of Services, which was highlighted by the "If byt' Precise" project. The survey is conducted every two years and includes 48,000 households from all regions. In 2025, 48.3% of families said they could not afford a vacation at least once a year due to lack of money. In 2023, this figure was 40.5%. 45.6% of families are currently unable to replace worn-out furniture, compared to 40.6% two years ag...

Parking tips for Lindsey Webster at Birchmere (Alexandria 02/13)

23m ago

figured i would share some parking tips for the lindsey webster show at the birchmere on 02/13. the venue is awesome but parking can be a real mess because of how they handle seating with the line number system. you should definitely check out Prked first. it is an app where you can rent driveways or private garage spots right next to the birchmere. it is way cheaper than other options and lets you skip the massive headache of the main lot. it is a short walk and you will not have to fight everyone else trying to leave at the same time after the show. the birchmere has a big surface lot that is free to use but it fills up crazy fast. since seating is general admission and bas...

Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 MK3 i7 16GB 256GB LTE Touch Units for Sale & Need Advice

24m ago

Hey r/toughbook – I believe self-promotion like this is okay per the sub's rules (it's not strictly forbidden, and I've seen similar posts), but if I'm wrong, **mods feel free to delete** or let me know! A little background: I recently picked up about 50 retired police CF-54 MK3 units as bare shells (no drives, batteries, or chargers). They're all touchscreen models with Intel Core i7-7600U processors (7th gen), 16GB DDR4 RAM, built-in 4G LTE (WWAN ready), backlit keyboards, and the usual rugged features (MIL-STD-810G chassis, spill-resistant, etc.). The S.M.A.R.T. hours vary – some as low as \~4,000, others up to \~12,000 – but they've all been tested fo...

redirect recipe for redemption

25m ago

I was going to make this recipe for “redemption salad” until my trip to 3 grocery stores yielded zero cups of cilantro. I have everything I need to make it, I will not “try it without cilantro” bc it’s a long time favorite and is delicious as written and eating it without the cilantro will only pour salt in my food desert wounds. I realize crying about not being able to get cilantro in winter isn’t flattering- but it’s not going to stop me from doing it 😂💅 What are some other options that hit those same tones: crunchy veggie-heavy, large batch chicken salads with enough of that je ne sais quoi to be a regular on your list? February 2026 Aquarius New Moon Solar Eclipse- Astrological Overview, Eclipse Cycles, and Horoscopes by Rising Sign

27m ago

Even though the eclipse hasn’t happened yet, the storyline is already unfolding. The first eclipse of the year arrives on February 17th. Eclipses tend to expose. They reveal what we’ve turned a blind eye to, essentially waking us up. They show weaknesses, fractures, and cracks in the foundation. But they also allow for change, since you have the opportunity to deal with the past and look at the present from a fresh vantage point. On February 26th, Mercury goes into retrograde. Mercury retrogrades also expose what was hidden or overlooked. They have us revisiting the past and taking an eagle eye to what was said, what we thought, and the data that was collected. We can dissect and dis...

Food poisoning so bad… they needed a mall trip to recover? 🤔

27m ago

So let me get this straight. The Liven family is posting about their youngest having food poisoning from Publix. But then… they’re out at the mall? Walking around? Shopping? Maybe I’ve been doing food poisoning wrong my whole life, because the last time I had it, I wasn’t exactly browsing Bath & Body Works. I was fighting for my life in the bathroom and reconsidering every life choice that led me there. Not saying kids can’t bounce back quickly, but the timeline is giving✨convenient✨. Either this is the world’s fastest recovery, or “food poisoning” is the new “needed content for the day.” Also bold to casually throw Publix under the bus while simultaneously ...
