Whataburger Locations

I thought I’d catalog all the foods I try again almost a year after diagnosis. These are foods that are iffy because of their carb content that expected to lead to high numbers but stayed within a normal post-prandial range, or at least close to it (under 140). Assume all foods listed were eaten after cruciferous vegetables (most usually a salad but sometimes a small platter of dippable veggies like zucchini and cucumber), were eaten after or before 40-60 of walking, or both, unless specified otherwise. Included in the table below, is a list of each restaurant, how many chain locations they have (and in how many states those locations are located), and where their headquarters are located (which may be different from where the restaurant was founded). Better late than never, but here's a very quick graph to show my personal rankings for the 100 fast food/fast casual places I have visited in the first 100 days. Left to right: Quality of meal (from worst to best) Bottom to top: Value of meal i.e. "bang for the buck" (from worst to best) This is based on a single meal on a single visit, so there may be some cases where that one meal was ranked poorly. I’m not coming at this from a place of bad faith, but I live in North Carolina, I have given Whataburger three chances, and I have been disappointed all three times. For me, it’s not really the food, though the chicken was kind of mid when I visited the second time, but rather the completely disorganized service. Whataburger definitely is the type of restaurant to where speed should be the goal, the quality of the food is better than the average fast food place like McDonald’s, so if they can get your food out in like five minutes, I would consider this to be top notch. There, I said it. Whataburger is a better restaurant than In-N-Out. We just got an In-N-Out last month in my town. I’ve been there three times, the food is good. The burgers are the big selling point. The fries are decent if you get them cooked light well. I still think that Whataburger is better. The fries are much better when they’re cooked right. Plus you have more options, the spicy chicken sandwich, you can get breakfast. The main thing that keeps Whataburger back, is the customer service and how long the food takes sometimes. Just wondering because I've ordered at multiple different locations and I've never had a problem getting a custom made burger, but when I order a chicken sandwich made special (add cheese and mayo) they almost never add the custom ingredients to the chicken sandwich. Even when I order them both at the same time, the custom burger is always right and the custom chicken sandwich is almost always wrong.

So I go to the Whataburger on Coit and 121 here in Texas. Wait in drive through for 20min. The shakes were good but the food ******. Ordered chicken strips and they forgot to put gravy in the box. The chicken was cold. Don’t ever eat from them in that location. Waste of money. ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

My fiancée and I are both neurodivergent people who have a lot of food limitations (my fiancée moreso than me, really), so I'm looking for stuff to add to our rotation so we can stop relying on Doordash lol. yesterday some guy outside whataburger comes up to me asking if I could grab him some food. sure, why not, I say okay. we go inside and he just starts ordering like wild. two burgers, chicken fingers, drinks, idk what else. im standing there thinking “uhhh… okay??” i even asked him kinda quietly if it wasn’t too much for one person and he goes “its for my cousin.” never saw any cousin btw. anyway i didnt stop him cuz at that point i was curious how far he’d go. total came out like $68 which blew my mind for fast food. he grabs the bags and walks out. no thanks or anything. just gone. not mad, just… weird feeling after. like **** dude.
