I am very confused about planting times and conditions for ranunculus (zone 6a) and everything I read online only makes me more confused. What makes it even worse is a lot of the information is inconsistent and contradictory. For reference, my last frost date is around May 15 and last hard freeze is around April 20 (we’re actually expecting 29° F this Monday night). We are just now hitting five days of 50° soil temps. This is about 2 years difference, second photo is now. He’s about 4 years old? He had dropsy about a year ago and I used methylene blue and salt for a couple weeks and the pineconing subsided and his behaviour went back to normal for the most part, but after gaining back some of the weight he has remained thinner ever since. Based on his symptoms at the time of the dropsy, I had deduced he most likely had some sort of internal parasite of some kind.
