On this post I would like to introduce you to the traditional myths of the Karachay-Balkar people. **About Karachay-Balkars:** Karachay-Balkars are a people native to the central part of the North Caucasus, living in the Republics of Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria. With a population of about 385,000 people, they speak Karachay-Balkar, a language belonging to the Kipchak-Cuman branch of the Turkic language family. Like other North Caucasian peoples, they were incorporated into the Russian Empire during the long Russo-Caucasian War in the 19th century. Nowadays, virtually all Karachay-Balkars are Sunni Muslims, having widely adopted this religion by the beginning of the... After 6 years of trial and error with my White Swiss Shepherd, we finally cracked the code2h agoHi everyone, I wanted to share our journey with my 6-year-old White Swiss Shepherd. Her issues started at 5 months old, and it was a total whirlwind of bad experiences and false leads. If you are currently in the "it feels impossible" phase, this is for you (we are based in Germany in case this is relevant information with regards to the brands we use) **What didn't work** * Blood and saliva allergy tests: These were not accurate for her food allergies and did not help us identify triggers. (this was 5 years ago so maybe things changed) * semi-exotic meats and others: We tried rabbit and reindeer, but she still had reactions. We tried also insect based kibbles and she had re... Tmau/patm planner?2h agoI have been trying to get into digital marketing so that I can work from home and quit my job because I don’t like it, colleagues are mean and the pay is not good. I started a month ago and even made my first sale. I am currently working on digital planners and an idea came up a couple days ago, I decided to make a TMAU/PATM digital planner/journal. So I am asking you, if you have any suggestions / ideas of what you think a Tmau digital journal should contain please let me know. I was thinking daily notes, food logs, reactions, diet plans, low fodmap recipes and more. I will make it a linked pdf so you can use it on your phone/pad or laptop, but also you can print it at home. I want it ... Ethnobotany → Modern Pharmacology: Why We Need Population-Specific Supplements and Botanical Medicines2h agoEthnobotany isn’t “folk culture.” It’s a long-running, population-level research program: people observing what plants do to real bodies, in a real environment, across generations. Modern pharmacology is not the opposite of ethnobotany. It’s the same process—just formalized: Ethnobotany → active compounds → mechanisms → dosing → safety → clinical trials → standardization → pharmacovigilance. That bridge is not ideological. It’s methodological. 1) Why population-specific products are scientifically normal Every major group already gets population-aware approaches and sometimes explicitly, sometimes implicitly through: • population-specific risk mode... tmau planner?2h agoI have been trying to get into digital marketing so that I can work from home and quit my job because I don’t like it, colleagues are mean and the pay is not good. I've enjoyed my two-week Hytale phase, how was yours?2h agoFirst of, thank you Simon and Hypixel Studios for bringing the game back form the dead! Hytale is great so far, I can't wait for more content to come. I've played a lot during these two weeks and had a few thoughts about both quick fixes and system changes that would improve the experiance. Many of them have been talked about in previous posts and comments, but I'm just trying to compile them a bit. Feel free to add your, relatively easy changes to make the game even better. **Compass and Map** The map is great and the compass does the job, but gets cluttered really easily. Before the map and waypoints overhaul, it needs a few fixes to make it easier to read. Also, the tempo... cultural grocery stores near Davis ca?2h agoAre there any cultural/ethnic grocery stores near Davis? I know we have kims mart which I love, but are there others for different cultures cuisines? I like trying new foods and especially new recipes and would love to explore more! ****'s Kitchen Season 27 - Episode 18 (Part 2)2h ago**Dinner Service** As Hell’s Kitchen Miami opened its doors, the heat of the tropical evening was matched only by the heat inside the restaurant, as anticipation was high for this final four service. The dining room was soon being filled with the best and brightest of Miami, with Ramsay telling the chefs that the stars had come out tonight, but the stars he was more interested in were the ones here in the kitchen, as he urged them to not get overwhelmed by the occasion. After a few tense minutes of waiting, Marino brought the first ticket up to Ramsay who read it from his normal spot at the hot plate. As he called it out, he got a good response from Willow on apps and Eddie on fish, as th... can someone help with this...its a story with history2h agoi’ll give a little backstory that lead me to my question here. when I was growing up i lived right off lake erie in michigan, right by where one of the battlefields were in 1812. the house i grew up in for 14 years always had something in it, you could hear full conversations with 3 or more people in other rooms, head boot steps at night and things would go missing or random stuff would just slide off tables and shelves, i remember that one day we watched the ashtray on the kitchen table slide off and land directly on our sleeping cat, just piddly **** like that. when my bedriddin grandmother died in the house it seemed to slow down quite a bit but still would happen, a specific instince b... ****'s Kitchen Season 27 - Episode 18 (part 1)2h ago[Final 4 theme](https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ee8y7908jkpemu6qzzj0t/4-Chefs-Compete.mp3?rlkey=2fohsvh9zjezuqfbg9426p06x&st=gcxybuyi&dl=0) They arrived in South Beach with a dream…twenty chefs from every corner of the nation ,and beyond, all with one goal: to become the head chef of this restaurant… *(HK Miami exterior shown)* This is Hell’s Kitchen Miami, the hottest culinary destination in south Florida, and the competition to become its next leader has become as sizzling as the midsummer heat. THE MANIFESTO OF CONTINUOUS PROGRESSION2h agoToward a World of Voluntary Contribution and the Abolition of Industrial Stagnation PREAMBLE: THE FAILURE OF THE FIXED MODEL For too long, political thought has been trapped in the "Stagnation of the Blueprint." From the state-driven militarism that seduced Peter Kropotkin in 1914 to the rigid bureaucracies of the 20th century, the error has always been the same: the attempt to fix human life into a static industrial machine. Seriously addictive, devoured 4 in one go which is a tad unhealthy… Got my hands on some milk powder. I’ll try to see if it affects the taste if I switch out milk for powder and water next time since a lot of yeast based shio pan recipes call for milk powder. Does Prunelia and Lullu passive stacks?2h agoSo i want to improve the efficiency of my farming base by improving the crop's yield. I learned that Lullu's passive decrease the growth time of the crops and Prunelia's passive increase the crop yields. Im planning to have like 10 of each of them at my base and maxing their planting and gathering by condensing and using books. But i want to know if having multiple of them stack their passive No ******* way.2h agoI'm not sure if I'm neither lucky Or What. My birth control is mailed with plant food as temperature control2h agoSoulaan Is Not a Vibe: It’s a Biocultural Continuum from 🇺🇸2h agoIndigeneity is not a costume, a political stance, or a trauma identity. It is a biocultural condition the long-term co-development of a human population with a specific environment. That’s it. It’s measurable. It’s structural. And it’s ongoing. This is where fields like ethnomedicine, ethnoagriculture, ethnobotany, ethnomusicology, biomedicine, and biocultural anthropology become relevant — not rhetorically, but scientifically. A population becomes indigenous to a place when: • its biology adapts to local pathogens, diets, and toxins • its culture adapts to local ecologies, labor regimes, and stress environments • its medicine evolves around local disease profiles ... 50 Stories2h agoPart two has a brief introduction to each of the characters! 1. Anyone else feels like recipes are just badly written code?2h agoI might be over-engineering this, but recipes absolutely destroy my working memory - in the same way badly written legacy code does. Before anyone worries: I read the PSA. This is **NOT** an “I built an app to fix your life” post. I’m not selling anything. I’m just a PM who is also a dev who is also someone who likes cooking *in theory* but rage quits or procrastinates *in practice* because standard recipes nuke my working memory. I’ve been toying (for myself) with a script that rewrites recipes into something my brain can actually execute. Here are the **4 critical bugs** I keep finding in the source code of dinner.
