Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Vegan Foods Latest Community Discussions About Vegan FoodsVegan Queso For Omnivores - And while I'm at it....46m agoThe rest of my family eats an omnivorous diet, but I'm the main cook in the house, so our meals at home are all vegan. My husband enjoys most of my vegan meals, but has disliked and politely refused to eat every vegan queso I've ever made. I thought I had a winner with Nisha Vora's queso in Big Vegan Flavor, but it was a swing and a miss for him (his loss, it's soooo good!). Can anyone recommend your best vegan queso recipe? One that might change an omnivore's mind? While I'm at it, what's your go to recipe if you're hosting for friends or family who are skeptics of plant-based/vegan food? PT 2 of The hermie my sister brought home46m agoHi! thanks to everyone who replied to my previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/hermitcrabs/s/jDd6a04kmc Just wanted to do a little update and ask some questions. So I decided to take him in. I'm using an old 30x15x15 (in centimetres) aquarium that I have for now. First thing first, I know the substrate is not deep enough so don't worry, I ordered lots of them, along with shells. Unfortunately, the sand and shells would take about 2-4 days to arrive so I'm trying to de-stress him. I bought these rough sands from a shop nearby (which imo are a bit expensive for only about half a kilogram, that's why I bought more online) and am currently making DIY climbing stuff from ... Cooking - Meals? Resources?48m agoI am recently diagnosed (symptoms started in childhood and now in my late 30s) and looking to eat a lower histamine diet given I know some of my worst trigger foods are high histamine. One of my kids is autistic, and their safe foods other than most fresh fruit, give me GI distress, so I am likely looking at cooking or eating something alternative for myself. Do any of you have any favorite meals or snacks you are eating? Are there any legit (so many AI slop recipes, books, and blogs) cookbooks or recipe blogs that focus on a lower histamine diet? Tyia. 👋 Welcome to r/Scrumbles - Check this out and then introduce yourself and your floof!50m ago**Welcome to** r/Scrumbles **👋** Hey! We’re a UK pet food brand on a mission to make better food for cats and dogs, starting with better guts (and yes… better poops 💩). Scrumbles started back in 2018 after Aneisha and Jack noticed Boo struggling with tummy troubles that just wouldn’t go away, so they began crafting their own pet food that’s gentle on digestion, made with proper ingredients, and doesn’t cost the Earth. All our recipes are packed with pre & probiotics to support digestion, made with high-quality ingredients (no red meat, no nasties), and designed to be kind to pets and the planet. We’re big on pet nutrition, fair pricing, and not taking ourselves to... Developing more food allergies50m agoHello, I got the diagnosis MCAS just last October. 5 years before that I had a doctor tell me I was histamine intolerant and also had a gluten intolerance. Fast forward time and I have (only since a year) completely cut out gluten and that seems to have helped. I did switch to eating yogurt in the mornings because I figured that was better than vegan soy products for the histamine. then this Monday I get the results back for my food allergy testing and it comes back with a casein allergy, walnuts and hazelnuts, onions and millet. For the IGE4 I also had lots more foods in the red. Now I am already vegetarian for years, partly for animals rights but also because of other diagnos... Same food and barcodes, same weight, but one apparently contains more protein.53m agoRonto Wrap - Meat or Plant-based ?53m agoWhich one do you prefer? I’m a meat eater but I prefer the plant-based one at Disneyland but it’s different at world. Wasn’t really a fan of the meat one the last time I had it. Indian cookbook that is best for home cooking?54m agoI’ve been trying to cook more Indian food at home and realized I’m kind of stuck jumping between random online recipes without a solid foundation. I’m mainly cooking for myself and family, so I care about flavor, and recipes that are realistic for a home kitchen. I’d love a book that covers core techniques, spices, and a range of dishes. so far I’ve tried a mix of blog recipes and videos, but results are hit or miss, and it’s hard to tell which approaches are actually authentic or just simplified too much. What do you think is the best indian cookbook for learning proper home cooking? and which ones are better or worse compared to others you’ve used? Any favorites you still ... Book Review: Alex Viada’s “The Ultimate Hybrid Athlete”: The Good, the Bad, the Mediocre and the Ugly54m ago**Book:** *The Ultimate Hybrid Athlete: A Definitive Guide to Achieving Peak Athleticism Across All Disciplines* **Author:** Alex Viada **Publisher:** Victory Belt Publishing **Date:** December 2, 2025 **Pages:** 296 Pages **Stars:** Two I have been a recreationally competitive athlete for 15 or more years. I am also a bibliophile. As such, I love books on training and athletics. There are some great ones out there that I love and have learned a lot from – Jack Daniel’s “Running Formula” and Alexander Bromley’s “Base Strength” should also be read by everyone interested in Viada’s book. So I was happy to get a book on hybrid athlete as I transition to that. ... Week 5: Ugandan: Curried potatoes55m agoThis week I made Ugandan curried potatoes based on a recipe from Demand Africa. I served it with blackened red rockfish. The whole meal turned out to be a little spicy for me so my husband enjoyed the leftovers. Everything New and Old Coming to Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream that We Know So Far (plus some assumptions and predict...56m agoWith the new direct out, I tried to collect everything we know so far about Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (after watching all the previews several times)! Feel free to correct me if I mixed something up or missed something! It feels like there’s still a lot of hidden features they didn’t show and there’s already so much! **What’s Coming Back** Most if not all relationship events (miis introducing each other, meeting each other, falling in love, weddings, babies, etc) Dreams Mii personalities Favorite foods Basic behavior (feeling sad, happy, etc) Old buildings/structures * Fresh Kingdom (Food Mart) * MNN * Where & Wear (combination of clothing and hat shop?) * Tom... I got a raise, now I can't afford health insurance57m agoScroll on if you need to, I just need to rant. I started at a new small company about 4 or 5 months ago and it was a nice change: bosses let me leave early if my work was done, acknowledged when something was beyond my control or not my fault, and in general show me respect--especially when I push back or call them out. Earlier this week we sat down to discuss handing me more responsibility and a raise to go with it. They offered 10%, I countered with 20% (10% performance based and 10% for new job duties) which after a bit of convincing they accepted. However, this now means I am above the threshold for free state-funded insurance which I have been leaning on pretty heavily--I have a knee is... The Apple TV+'s "Invasion" (2021) Series and the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA)58m agoThe word “wajo”, repeated tirelessly in the forum dedicated to the series, r/invasionappletv , is much more than just a silly joke or a random word that simply means castle in Japanese. Wajo is literally one of the most important clues connecting the fictional world of the series with the real world. In fact, “wajo” means castle in Japanese, but it also means an extinct state/kingdom in Indonesia. This seemingly random and funny word also appears to be the name of a plant or tree in Papua New Guinea, defined as “Euodia anisodora” in several botanical sources, although no other information is available. But the most curious meaning I found for "wajo" was "Wajo In... How To Become Dangerously Knowledgeable in 2026: The Science-Based Playbook That Actually Works58m agoMost people think being "smart" means collecting degrees or winning trivia nights. Wrong. Knowledge without application is just mental hoarding. I've spent the last few years deep-diving into how genuinely knowledgeable people operate (through books, research, podcasts, conversations with ridiculously smart folks), and the patterns are wild. The gap between people who seem to know everything and those who don't isn't IQ. It's systems. Here's what I've learned. **Stop consuming, start curating** Your brain isn't a landfill. Most people treat information like an all-you-can-eat buffet, gorging on random YouTube videos, news headlines, and Twitter ... Crispy Asiago Ranch Chicken1h agoThis chef-inspired homage to Wendy's beloved sandwich transforms a fast-food favorite into a culinary triumph, featuring buttermilk-brined chicken ****** pounded to perfect thickness and double-dredged in a seasoned flour coating enhanced with cornstarch and baking powder for maximum crunch. The chicken emerges from hot oil with a shatteringly crisp, golden crust that gives way to impossibly juicy meat, topped with nutty aged Asiago cheese that melts into every crevice, while thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon adds a mahogany crispness that complements the cool, herb-forward ranch made from scratch with fresh chives, dill, and parsley brightened by lemon zest. Nestled in a buttery toasted... Reintroduction / Our favorite meals1h agoThis is our first round doing Whole30! This is an everything post, sorry. We’re on D26 and still having fun with it, but is it normal to be nervous about reintroduction? I haven’t have any digestive issues since we started (besides chia seed pudding, so good but the fiber man), and I’m nervous I’m going to start feeling tired/bloated/unmotivated again. Any reintroduction tips besides taking it slow and intentional? Also some of our favorite meals: Cashew crusted tilapia w/ coconut cream pesto sauce over potatoes, anything with fajita veggies and those Siete seasoning packets, and cauliflower fried rice… I made ‘Mongolian beef’ (quotes bc I used shredded meat instead of fry... Does Fisetin help with healthy aging? What the research says (2026)1h ago**What is Fisetin?** Fisetin is a plant flavonol (a type of polyphenol) found in small amounts in several fruits and vegetables, including strawberries, apples, onions, grapes, and cucumbers. It has attracted interest in aging research because preclinical studies (cell and animal) report that fisetin has antioxidant activity and can modulate inflammatory signaling, stress-response pathways, and markers associated with cellular senescence in experimental models. Preclinical mouse studies also report improved measures of health and lifespan extension in mice when fisetin is given later in life. However, these findings are primarily preclinical, and it is not yet established that fisetin clear... Keep or release?1h agoI live in south Texas, and on the first day of the recent freeze, I found my cat attacking a little anole in my apartment. It was dark brown, wasn't moving, except for a foot and an eye. I put him in a small plastic bin I had ready for my snakes, on the edge of a water bowl (so he wouldn't drown but could get to it to soak and drink). Two hours later, he had moved around and was bright green! I set up an enclosure (I have snakes, so plenty of supplies) to make sure he had a nice winter bungalow, put some plants in there, water, and bought some mealworms for him, but he is not eating. He is going from brown to green off and on all day. I have a low heat lamp w/ UVB on him, but I d...
