How much should a person earn in Jabalpur?

2h ago

To manage basic necessities. We see that people who leave the city earn much higher but a lot of it goes into rent, food and managing their lifestyle. Leaving luxuries aside, how much do you think is necessary to be content in this city? (It is subjective based on family size, and everyone has different desires and longings in life. Yet, what is your wish and expectations?) If you are a working professional, in a different city, how much would you be willing to take and sacrifice if it was made possible to live here?

how does acquaponics even work??

2h ago

Hi, This might be a **** question, but I'm a new HYDROponic grower planning to switch to aquaponics in a few years. I was wondering: How do you set the EC in a way that is good for plants but not deadly for fish? In hydroponics, plants need a fairly high EC (1.2–2.0), but wouldn't that be lethal for fish? Also, how big should the reservoirs be? I have a 4.500liter pond, is that too large to convert into a small aquaponic NFT system? I'm afraid I would need too many fish to reach a proper EC for the plants. Finally, how much do you care about parameters? do you check all of them or just let it be? Do you supplement nutrients or simply change the fish food based on defici...

Patriarchy

2h ago

Patriarchy is not a timeless biological inevitability, nor is it a conscious conspiracy by men to oppress women. It is a historically produced **structural system** in which men, as a statistical group, disproportionately occupy positions of political authority, control key heritable resources, and shape dominant norms. Patriarchy persists through institutions, kinship systems, and economic arrangements rather than through individual intent alone. Understanding patriarchy structurally avoids two common errors: biological determinism and moral reductionism. The former falsely treats inequality as unavoidable. The latter incorrectly assigns blame to individual men or women rather than to the ...

Looking for a roomate (???)

2h ago

Ik this is a weird idea but please hear me out I'm a 25-year-old single woman, I live with my family in a villa, I have 2 jobs so I'm super busy. Unfortunately, my family and I don't share the same food preferences so I don't eat with them. and if I send them any recipes to prepare, they mess them up, so i'm always stressed about my nutrition and tired of meal prepping alone. meal plans are expensive. and bc of my sexist culture, moving out as a women is not really encouraged. (plus it doesn't make sense to spend thousands on renting a studio when I have a home lol) I am basically looking for a platonic-roomate-friend-wife who can live with me? I have m...

Cooking like our ancestors for fun and learning a lot

2h ago

I started cooking through this old school cookbook mostly out of curiosity and ended up learning way more than I expected. Shoutout to whoever posted about it here a few months back, I couldn't find your post but I appreciate you for putting me on to something awesome. Every recipe is based around food that lasts without refrigeration, and each one includes a bit of history about where it came from and why it existed. It’s basically how people fed themselves when grocery stores, fridges, and constant resupply weren’t a thing. I’ve been trying a couple recipes a week just for fun. Some are pretty unusual by today’s standards, but it’s fascinating to see how much thought went ...

thirsty blueberries

2h ago

once a week or so i use a dripper and give them some little water droplets. they come running for it! some of them prefer water trapped in their rocks or sand so i make sure to give plenty of that too! they loveeeeee when i water the plants in the tank :) they get plenty of water from their food (mostly cabbage, fresh fruit when aviable, fresh meat on occasion, and whatever leftover veggies my bird doesn't want)

"nightshades" and how this term is largely irrelevant in allergies

2h ago

# Why It’s "Archaic" The term "nightshade" is a linguistic relic. Its etymology is murky, but it likely stems from old Germanic or Middle English words. * **Shadowy Origins:** Some believe the name comes from the plants’ tendency to grow in the shade or bloom at night. Others suggest "night" refers to the "darkness" of death, as many wild species are highly poisonous. * **Guilt by Association:** Historically, because plants like belladonna and mandrake were associated with witchcraft and poison, perfectly safe edible relatives (like tomatoes and eggplant) were viewed with extreme suspicion for centuries. * **The Botany Shift:** Modern botany clas...

Looking for concise advice on winter feeding

2h ago

Hi all! Years ago I fed birds at my prior home, and put out a little corn cob feeder for the squirrels. I had not done so after I moved, but with the impending snowstorm, I worried about my bird and squirrel friends. We’ve had over 6” snow on the ground with brutal cold for about a week, which is not very common here. Because of this I went out and bought 2 hanging bird feeders, a suet cage, trays for seeds/corn and constructed 2 simple corn cob feeding stations for the squirrels. Besides the corn cobs, I figured the squirrels would like the Black Oil sunflower seeds and maybe even the suet. I had no time to really research before the impending storm, so that is what I went with. ...

Thoughts on Bryan Johnson publicly calling out AG1? About Time or Clout Play?

2h ago

I understand the criticism here from a science-based perspective, but I've heard anecdotally that a lot of people feel better when taking a greens powder like AG1. I've considered that maybe it has more to do with the fact that when people start their day in a "healthy" way, such as by taking a greens powder. They tend to make better choices throughout the rest of the day, like saying no to that donut at work, or meal prepping their lunch instead of going out to fast food. Curious to hear your thoughts on this!

Recommended plant-based foods/dishes to eat during flair ups?

2h ago

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone had any plant-based dishes/food they usually eat during flair-ups that kinda help with bloating and pain? I'm having a flair up rn (diagnosed a few years ago) and meds aren't doing enough, so I was just wondering. I'm vegan, so nothing with animal products please. Thank you for any and all help! :)

2h ago

Hi everyone, I'm Angel, a 23-year-old trans woman (she/her/fae) from Kansas City, Missouri. I'm trans but haven't started transitioning yet, and I hope moving abroad will give me the safety and resources to do that. For the past 8+ months (4-5 researching where to go, 3-4 focusing on Spain), I've been looking into countries nonstop, and Spain became my top pick after my original top 5: Spain, Netherlands, Iceland, New Zealand, and Portugal. I want Europe for the languages to learn, diverse cultures, good public transport, easy travel access, and better life quality overall. That said, I'm open to other places if they're easier or better. My main goal is just to ...

You know i don't know what i would of made for a alien species based on Bananas but it wasnt this Tbh i love this plant like bug species who has a latvian name for their planet with a obsession with purity (Unlike the nazi's from WW2) but in this case that quest for purity doomed their species to die till ben and his friends eventually stopped them and got them to chill i like the false eyes they seem to have on their chest (that was probably a evolutionary byproduct to scare off predators before they had the ability to walk and obliterate anyone who oppose them I also like that they feed via their stomach as roots are rooted there (yet also seems like a very obvious weakpo...

Plot thoughts!

3h ago

So I thought iron lung was super cool! So I just wanted to ask people if they came to the same conclusions about the plot! Context Starting with the movie setting, so from what we can tell humans have technologically advanced enough to create multiple space stations and multiple bases on planets. We learn that the quite rapture is between A the disappearance of all the planets or B that all the space stations have been moved elsewhere. As Simon states (whats more likely planets disappearing or a few space stations? (Optimism). Simon is likely a child soldier/cult member of Eden, (i didn't quite catch everything but I assume a revolution caused between the divide amount the remaining...

Burning, Urgency, Negative Culture? Check Your Urine pH

3h ago

A lot of people don’t realize this, but urine pH alone can cause symptoms that feel exactly like a UTI. Urine pH is basically how acidic or alkaline your urine is. It normally ranges from about 4.5 to 8, and most people sit somewhere around 5.5–6.5. Unlike blood pH, urine pH is supposed to change. It shifts based on what you eat, how hydrated you are, medications, supplements, hormones, and even recent infections. When urine is too acidic, it can seriously irritate the bladder and urethra. Things like high-protein or low-carb diets, dehydration, vitamin C, cranberry products, ketosis, and certain meds can push urine pH lower. Acidic urine can cause burning, urgency, pressure, and that...

Found small screw in my food. Help with… consumer law?

3h ago

Location: Puerto Rico Hello! Alright so quick story short, last saturday I ordered some burger sliders from a pretty famous restaurant chain, where’d you’d eat, play and watch games lol, where I am a regular customer. The very first bite I took I literally bit into a small screw, I believe inside specifically the meat. Now, thankfully I didn’t get any tooth injury or swallowed it. Right away I notified the waitress, she took the screw to show it to a supervisor. Said supervisor came to me and said she’ll “investigate” and talk to the other manager, and that if in the meantime I’d like a new plate which I said yes since me and my friends of course we’re still hungry. They br...
