Any idea what this is ?

Based in the UK. No idea if this is something I planted last year or a weed.

Day 2 cycling tank

38m ago

I set up my tank yesterday, added all the chemicals, planted it, and sprinkled some fish food for ammonia. These are my parameters today, do they seem alright or is there something I need to do? No fish in here yet, will be moving my betta and nerite snail into it when it’s good to go. I heard people put snails in the tank to speed up the cycling process, should I move my nerite early? \*what I see\* pH between 7.2 & 7.6, ammonia about .50, nitrite between 0 & .25, nitrate between 0 & 5.

Tips, Honest Feelings, and the Best of 15 Workaway experiences

39m ago

Hi there! If you are around here- it’s highly possible that you are considering doing Workaway, I’ve been in somewhere around 15 Workaway experiences in over 2-3 years, most of them really nice! All of them unforgettable in their own way, some of them challenging. So I will crack down through my honest thoughts all over from getting ready, some beginner tips and my favorite things. 1. Getting Ready a- It should start really with the question, Why are you doing it? And There’s no like an individual correct answer for that, but it will give you a sense of direction on what opportunities might or not suit you… “I really wanted to do something different, I was curious to go somewhe...

TL;DR: Everyone looks at the 47x P/E and runs away screaming "overvalued." But you're missing the forest for the trees. Costco isn't a retailer; it's a subscription annuity with a free call option on China. With e-commerce finally exploding (+21.7%), international comps outpacing the US (+11.9%), and $10B in net cash to weather a recession, the earnings growth is going to outrun the multiple compression. This is the ultimate "sleep well at night" compounder hiding in plain sight. \--- 1. The Membership Annuity (The Real Business) Before we even talk about hot dogs or rotisserie chickens, let's understand the financial engine. Costco does not make mo...

Cooking like our ancestors for fun and learning a lot

40m ago

I started cooking through this old school cookbook mostly out of curiosity and ended up learning way more than I expected. Shoutout to whoever posted about it here a few months back, I couldn't find your post but I appreciate you for putting me on to something awesome. Every recipe is based around food that lasts without refrigeration, and each one includes a bit of history about where it came from and why it existed. It’s basically how people fed themselves when grocery stores, fridges, and constant resupply weren’t a thing. I’ve been trying a couple recipes a week just for fun. Some are pretty unusual by today’s standards, but it’s fascinating to see how much thought went ...

Salmon Stew with Rutabaga, Leeks, and Dill

41m ago

Last month my MS community challenged me to find electric pressure cooker meals. I realized since I started AIP 3 years ago, I really had not been using my IP the way I used to. I’ve been making two IP meals per week, and I think I’m gonna stick to it going forward. [This recipe](https://autoimmunewellness.com/salmon-stew-with-rutabaga-leeks-and-dill/) is from Mickey Trescott. I’ll give it a solid 7/10. I know next time I’ll do shallots along with the leeks. And lean into the chowder vibes by using clam juice instead of water in the last steps. and some Worcestershire sauce. If i can figure it a seafood broth, that’ll be even better than the chicken broth i think. but ...

Denial is not just a river in Egypt...

Sooooo I (26M) was healing for two and a half years on strict raw vegan diet while living in my parents basement. I basically got around 35% better which is miraculous considering I was suicidal and NOBODY had answers during my worst flare. My parents told me I was a mental basket case because I was so skinny and ate only fruits, salads and the occasional sweet potato meal even though I felt pretty good except for not feeling grounded all the time. As I could no longer stay with them, I decided to go abroad to teach English in a tropical locale with fresh fruit. At the time, this seemed like a good idea as I had few alternatives. In Bali, I went to some interesting alternative health practi...

Any London videographers want to shoot food content for new app?

44m ago

Looking for a videographer in London to help build something from the ground up (food + startup) I’m building an app called Noshoo. It’s a food ordering app focused on pickup, but instead of scrolling through menus, the entire experience is based on short videos of real dishes from nearby restaurants. You open the app, see actual food being made or served, tap on what looks good, and order it for pickup straight away. Right now I’m launching in a small, dense area in London with a handful of restaurants, and I’m looking for a videographer who wants to help create the content that actually drives those orders. This isn’t a paid gig upfront, being straight about that. It’s ear...

I built a live CS overlay to make pro matches easier to follow

44m ago

Hello everybody, I started watching competitive Counter-Strike more seriously around 2 years ago and, oh dear, there is a lot to take in just to understand what is going on beyond players getting kills. Coming from League of Legends, where there is much more live data on the overlay to understand the dynamics of the game (gold differences, items, objectives, ...), CS looked a bit ***** in comparison. About a year ago, Riot even released a Twitch extension that lets you explore live in-game data even more (gold curve, damage, item builds, ...). That is where I thought: why not apply that to CS matches, especially since GRID opened a free-tier access to try out projects based on esports data...

Plant is giving me the finger

My plant keeps growing one super tall middle finger that towers over the rest. I even cut that leaf back and it did the same thing again! 2nd photo shows the base where I cut it back. Anyone know why she does this?

Brewing Rebalanced - Made intuitive and easier to understand for new players

47m ago

One of my pet peeves with Minecraft’s current brewing system is how convoluted it is, with many different potions requiring you to have already brewed other potions to make them, while others have their own ingredients and do not have this issue. For new/inexperienced players, this can make the task of brewing rather confusing, but rather than create a whole load new crafting recipes for other ingredients, I took pretty much all these from existing items in the game. Here are my ideas: **Potion of Invisibility = Resin Clump** My thinking for this is the fact that Creakings kinda camouflage with their environment, plus it’s a visual effect which ties into its eyes. **Potion of Slowness...

It's time.

Another voice leaving teaching. And I'm really sad about it. WA state based. It's not the money. The money is really bad, don't get me wrong, but I grew up poor enough that we occasionally didn't have food for a few days. This is pretty much the best money I've ever made in life. It's not the kids. I'm actively and visibly trans, so I can say for sure that the kids are great. Honestly they are the reason I kept doing this for a year or so loner than I felt like quitting. It's not my coworkers. I get along really well the teachers, and have a decent amount that request me. It's not even the admin. Other than one school I've blackli...

Volunteer orgs centered around conservation/sustainability/preservation of green spaces?

49m ago

Is anyone involved with an org that does service projects centered around conservation/sustainability/preservation of green spaces? I have volunteered with the Great Raleigh Cleanup and will continue to do so, but I'm wondering what other other orgs might be out there doing good work. I'm thinking tree planting, urban gardening, trail maintenance, educational workshops - things of that nature. Looked into the NC Wildlife Federation, but it looks like the most local chapter is based in Wake Forest, and I was hoping to target the Raleigh area if possible. Earth lovers lemme hear from y'all 🌍

Don't be distracted: it's coming

50m ago

My theory is not so much a theory because I think most people see that it's going to happen but I'm still not sure who is "pulling the strings" in the larger sense, only that we need to stop being distracted by things like scandalous AI images on social media and keep in mind the situation that Americans are in right now, and ultimately prepare for the near future: \- The Iran war: Yes the war is historically unpopular with voters on both sides of the isle but it's also a huge disaster for the US that they are saying is worse than Bush and the Iraq war. Simply put: we're in an untenable position and there's no good way out of it. Iran is emerging in a str...

Weight loss

55m ago

We are offering **medical weight loss programs using GLP-1 medications**, and honestly, the biggest difference we’ve seen compared to everything else is **consistency and appetite control**. Most people coming in tell us the same thing: * “I’ve tried diets over and over” * “I lose weight, then gain it back” * “I’m constantly hungry or thinking about food” What’s been interesting is that with GLP-1s, many patients say: * They’re **not constantly thinking about food** * Portions naturally get smaller * Weight loss feels more **sustainable**, not forced That said — I always keep it real with people: 👉 It’s not a quick fix 👉 You still have to make better ...
