The Complete Taxonomy of Energy Mechanisms & Working Fluids (Python Universe Simulation)

24m ago

I've created a complete "periodic table" of energy harvesting mechanisms and working fluids - mapping every conceivable combination from conventional thermodynamics to quantum effects. This Python simulation explores 38 fundamental mechanisms and dozens of exotic materials. 🔬 The Energy Mechanism Taxonomy The system categorizes 38 fundamental energy mechanisms across 7 categories: 1. Thermodynamic: Pressure differential, temperature gradient, phase change 2. Mechanical: Gravitational, inertial, elastic deformation 3. Fluid dynamic: Flow kinetic, vortex, cavitation implosion 4. Electromagnetic: Electrostatic, MHD, piezoelectric 5. Chemical/Biological: Osmotic, electroch...

Interpreting the Patterns: Old Hubs and New Frontiers

25m ago

# The Traditional Core The Midwest — anchored by states like **Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana** — remains a hub of manufacturing hires. These states have long histories of automotive, machinery, and heavy industrial production, and even as total employment has plateaued or declined in nominal terms, they continue to attract new factory workers. Similarly, **states with legacy manufacturing bases** benefit from existing capital infrastructure, high-skill labor pools, and robust supplier networks — conditions that lower recruitment costs and shorten onboarding cycles for new hires. [DEV] Idle Clans (Idle MMORPG) update - Large scale UI/UX reworks & back-end overhaul

26m ago

Hey everyone! It has been almost 3 years since the release of Idle Clans and the game has developed quite well, but there have been things that held us back from significantly ramping things up. This update primarily aims to address those issues. The biggest thing to tackle was our back-end infrastructure, which wasn't designed from the start to scale very well. Idle Clans started out as a side project I worked on for fun with no expectations of anyone playing it, so scalability wasn't something I concerned myself with too much. Luckily, the back-end infrastructure has been robust enough until now but it has forced me to be pretty modest about our growth as there would've ev...

Uni student running a small home kitchen — would love local support

27m ago

Hi everyone, I’m a university student and recently started a small home-based kitchen to support myself alongside studies. I mainly make creamy Alfredo pasta, Chinese (chowmein, chilli chicken, manchurian) and soups, all cooked fresh at home in small batches. It started with friends and classmates, and their response encouraged me to take it a bit more seriously. I’m still very new and learning, but I genuinely care about quality and taste. If you’re in Lahore and like trying home-cooked food, I’d really appreciate your support or even feedback. Happy to share details if anyone’s interested. Insta handle : sauced.pk

Bed-Stuy households wanted for a new food & cooking series

33m ago

[](https://www.reddit.com/r/jacksonheights/)Hi Bed Stuy folks My small NYC-based production company is developing a **new web/TV food series** where professional chefs visit real homes and cook for families in their own kitchens. We’re looking in BedStuy because of the neighborhood’s incredible cultural and culinary diversity. We’re currently looking for **families or households of 5–8 people** who would be open to hosting a couple of fabulous chefs in their home for a filmed cooking experience. **A few important notes:** * This is a **documentary-style food series**, not a competition or reality show * We’re looking for people who love their food, enjoy eating together, ...

Sudden Bladder Issues

33m ago

This guy was on his side this morning getting nibbled on by the kuhli. Everyone in the tank has been fine and active, nothing has changed in the tank recently. He is much smaller than the other Corys so wondering if he's not getting enough food? Breathing is normal , but can't swim. I moved to a hospital tank with a small amount of aquarium salt. I'm just not sure what's wrong or how to help the guy. Any ideas? (Sorry I'm terrible at getting the algae at the sand line.) 6 month old tank Temp: 77.5 HOB filter and air strip Planted tank with 1 betta, 6 corys, 4 kuhli, 10 🦐, 11 glolite/cardinal tetra and bladder snails. Ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrate 0ppm

Built a protein-per-calorie ranking tool for meal planning

38m ago

I got tired of googling protein-per-calorie for every food when planning my weekly meal prep, so I built a tool that ranks them all in one place. 65 common proteins, all from USDA FoodData Central with food codes you can verify. You can toggle between cutting and bulking priorities, filter by budget or zero-prep, and it works on your phone. [https://www.proteinatlas.ca/tools/protein-ranker](https://www.proteinatlas.ca/tools/protein-ranker) Some stuff that changed how I plan meals: * Fish destroys everything else. Cod is 25.1g protein per 100 calories. Chicken ****** is 8th at 18.8g. I started doing a baked cod night once a week. * Turkey ****** beats chicken (21.6g vs 18.8g) and nobody e...

5v5 is cool but something needs to be done to counter getting steamrolled

39m ago

I know what you are thinking, "just be better." Fair, but if your whole team just keeps spawning solo while defending from the team being in your base and then gets wiped then you are fighting an uphill battle. Something should be done to stop steamrolls. If the enemy team plants the first bomb and defuses without going into no respawns, they have a pretty good chance to plant a second bomb and win the game easily, making it really short and less fun. I have a couple of games in 5v5 like this where the enemy team gets shieldbreaker to our base and just completely destroys us. Some tweaks need to be done to counter this. One idea may be that if the first bomb has exploded, then de...

Worldbuilding26 - February (Biology & Beasts)

Worldbuilding26 is a year-long creative challenge by u/dafrittt and their [worldbuilding26 project](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldbuilding/comments/1pghk9w/worldbuilding26_challenge/). The idea is simple: each day, write one element of your world. To fight off the dreaded blank page syndrome, this project provides optional daily prompts. These prompts are there to spark your imagination, but are of course fully optional. **The rules** The only rule is that you write one element every day. The purpose of Worldbuilding26 is to get you building your world and to have fun doing so. It doesn't matter how long or how short your daily lore blurb is, as long as you're having fun with ...
