About to have major orthodontic work and dental surgery-need low spoon ideas

3h ago

I’m getting a TPA and braces on the top, plus a dental surgery to help an impacted premolar on the top come out. I’m on the spectrum so I anticipate being in sensory ****. I work an office job and I’m desperate for low spoon recipes that involves soft food and minimal or no chewing. I have access to a fridge and microwave at work but no freezer, and I only get a 30 minute lunch break. I would try those boost shakes but I can’t do the dairy and every time I’ve tried to make a smoothie it turns out with ice chunks and a liquidy mess.

Spigot Seals and bonbon trees?

3h ago

Planning out a drippiol base that should hopefully feed the tree and a few dupes for long term sustainability (yes im aware its easier to automate the planetoid, no i dont want to automate the planetoid, the fun is making it livable for me). Had a few questions: 1. Do spigot seals need an atmosphere? Im aware bonbons dont, so i intend to wild plant them in space if possible. 2. What would be a good amount of seals and bonbons? I'm not very good at the whole "math out the entire food source to critter ratio" bit just yet lol. Just a general number to be recommended. 3. Im planning to use plume squashes for the primary food source both for dupes and the tree. How many should ...

M27 U.S. • are you my future friend? ✨

3h ago

Greetings! I’m a 27-year-old guy based in the U.S. I work in a shop that sells books and records, which means I spend a lot of time alphabetizing things and having strong opinions about album covers. When I’m not there, I like making stuff with my hand. I enjoy making poor paintings, writing short poems that mostly stay in notebooks on my shelf, knitting uneven scarves and trying to keep plants alive in my garden (mixed results). I’m into wandering conversations and finding small joys where you don’t expect them, meaning you don’t have to share any of my interests. I expect nothing at all of you except that you put some effort into introductions and conversations, and that you are...

Semi-Solo First Timer

3h ago

My (36F) birthday plans fell through so a friend invited me to spend it at Bonnaroo. I’ve never been but it sounded like a unique and easy way to gather all of you for my birthday party :) My friend is coming in from a different city with their group. They’ll be staying in the Moon Colony and I’ll be arriving solo and probably camping in The Beyond. I’ve done day/weekend festivals but I’ve never camped out of a car before. I’ve gotten a good sense of what to do so far: Prep for the heat, good tent stakes, battery power, mesh canopy, etc. You guys are dropping gems. I still have a few more questions. \- What car size works for solo? I know I get a 20x20 camp space. I reserve...

Due to rapid influx of rain it is important to stop the spread of malaria or dengue( dry home is healthy home, better to...

\*"Dry homes" in Pakistan\* usually means 2 things: 1. \*Keeping your house dry to stop mosquitoes\* – no standing water inside/outside 2. \*Dealing with damp/seepage in houses\* – common after monsoon, causes mold + mosquitoes Based on our mosquito chat, here’s how to make/keep a home “dry” in Pakistan: \*1. Dry = No mosquito breeding – Most urgent for health\* \_Anopheles\_ and \_Aedes\_ breed in tiny amounts of water. Pakistan’s dengue peaks Sep-Nov because of this. \*Daily/weekly checklist for a dry home:\* \- \*Bathrooms\*: Mop floor dry after shower. Empty buckets. Keep mug upside down. Fix leaking taps \- \*Kitchen\*: No water in dish rack trays. Fridg...

Tempeh Farro Bowl (and a question)

3h ago

Tempeh Farro Bowls from the 30 Day Alzheimer's Solution (this is actually a cookbook). Includes tempeh, sweet potato, farro, broccoli, kale, avocado, cherry tomatoes. Seasoned with garlic, coconut aminos, pepper, nooch, and some mushroom powder. I added a quick tahini dressing that wasn't in the recipe because what is a bowl without sauce? I took a few bites before taking the pic. My question is if this is the right sub for my food or not? I posted here because I come here a lot. I make dinner for my family most nights, usually from my extensive cookbook collection but also from blogs, and I think my food is usually really great. However, as you can see, I have zero interest in pl...

would love to hear what kindof “beef” and seasoning you used.

Rant: In your Opinion what is the Best and Worst pet.

3h ago

Best: Rabbits there affectionate and quiet rabbits also live up to 15 years and can be litter trained . Rabbit food isint gross and costly unlike dog and cat food. And rabbit poop is great for plants and rabbits are eco friendly . And they have such beautiful personalities. Worst: Dogs there painfully clingy. Dogs are also very loud and hyper. There also very expensive vet bills, food, toys ect. Also I just find it more rewarding to earn a animals trust and with dogs they just give it to you which makes me feel lazy. Also Bad breath.

Recipe Idea and Question

4h ago

so I recently had a batch of sangria at a local winery that had tasting notes of tangerine, lime, orange , and pineapple. that gave me the idea to make a wine based off it, my idea was to use 2 pineapples ( 1 baked and 1 kept fresh) juiced, then to use the zest of 4 limes , 2 oranges , and I'm not sure if I should use the actual fruit or just the zest of the tangerines let alone how many to use. I plan to add sugar to a sg of \~1.092 and let it ferment dry , before Backsweetening and pasturizing. any suggestions as to the recipe or how to use the tangerines would be appreciated as I've never really done any similar brews

Week 14: Savory Polarity - Baked Mac and Cheese with Leek and Bacon

4h ago

Found some gorgeous leeks at the farmer's market this week and was struggling on finding some inspiration on what to bake them with. The original plan was to make quiche, but I usually end up being the only person at home that eats it after the first day. So, we ended up going with a crowd favorite with a twist. I've done bacon mac and cheese before but haven't really used Leeks in mac and cheese before. I used the recipe from [The Burnt Butter Table](https://www.theburntbuttertable.com/best-baked-mac-and-cheese-with-bacon-and-leeks/#recipe) as my base. I doubled the recipe and added whatever cheese I had, and instead of rosemary for the breadcrumbs, I used garlic powd...

Share your favourite easy recipes

4h ago

I'm trying to teach myself how to cook. I grew up in a take it out the freezer put it in the oven house - my skills are basic and I don’t have a million and one ingredients sitting in my cupboard. What are your go to recipes? Childhood favourites, comfort foods, the ones you can make after a long day at work to help you relax. No diet restrictions, nothing I'm against trying - looking to get a little handful to start my own little collection and keep learning.

Beginner - wondering on cycling methods

4h ago

Okay, so I started this tank about 5 days ago now (my first ever tank), i added substrate (fluval stratum topped with gravel and sand), added hardscape, and then added plants. I haven’t added anything else at all, no beneficial bacteria, no fish food, no plant fertiliser etc. I was planning on just letting it run its course but at the same time im wondering if there is an easy way I could cycle it faster? Or am I just overthinking it? May be worth adding that some of the plants were from an already established tank of a friend. Will it cycle if I leave it and add nothing? Or do I need to do anything more? Thanks:)

Indomie with Rica-rica chicken

4h ago

The mosque that I regularly go to has food bazaars on Saturdays and there’s a new stall sells Indomie with fancy sides. Ordered rica-rica chicken, rica-rica being a type of spicy sauce from Manado, North Sulawesi. Base noodle seems to be Indomie Chicken curry.

Betta Tank Overhaul!

4h ago

over the past few weeks, I’ve completely overhauled my bettas tank! It is still a 5Gal but I’ve made lots of switches/upgrades: 5w heater -> 25w heater activated carbon filter -> bio sponge in filter plastic plants -> anbuias + moss ball (she still has a fake leaf hammock which is the only fake plant now) coloured gravel -> natural gravel aqueon betta food -> Fluval bug bites + frozen shrimps I also added Indian almond leafs + bark, and casuarina cones. as her fins are looking a little rough (no fin rot but probably tugged on by her old plants) I have the cones buried into the gravel since they’re a little rough. She still has her 2 black f...

Week 13 - Recycle: Almond Flour Millionaire Shortbread

4h ago

Love the challenge idea. Definitely in the habit of buying an ingredient for one recipe and not touching it for a long time if ever. Used almond flour leftover from a bakewell tart for the shortbread base. Seemed to get a little soggy from the caramel but I'm not sure if that's due to almond flour or just not cooking the caramel long enough.

How Long Does It Take to Show Results from a Carb Cycle?

4h ago

**Most people see their first real results from carb cycling within 2 to 3 weeks of consistent execution. The initial 5 to 7 days produce water weight shifts and energy changes, weeks 2 through 3 bring visible fat loss and clothing fit differences, and weeks 4 through 8 lock in measurable body composition shifts that stick.** I've watched this timeline play out hundreds of times across every body type, age group, and starting point you could think of. The pattern is remarkably consistent once someone actually follows a structured carb cycle instead of winging it. Here's exactly what happens, when it happens, and what to do if your timeline looks different. --- ## What Happens in...

Would really appreciate some help deciding on restaurants

4h ago

So I will be traveling to Puerto Rico in a few weeks with my wife and 5yo and definitely want to try out some of the nicer restaurants. We narrowed down the restaurants we want to try for dinner for the weekend to Santaella, Cocina al Fondo, and Casita Miramar but now I’m starting to second guess it thinking Cocina and Santaella might be a little too “adult centric” for my daughter . She’s very well capable of behaving but she is a little picky sometimes with food. I’m sure my wife and I will be spending money at each place but I’m curious if they’ll make a big deal about serving plain chicken and rice or a plain steak for daughter . Please let me know your thoughts based ...

babys !

4h ago

I just found a baby Pygmy Cory fry in my tank they had bred before but I didn’t realise they bred again My tank is very heavily planted with a layer of decaying plants in bottom of tank, I do clean occasionally but haven’t recently as my corys seem to like and I keep an eye for bacterial infection which I think a layer of mulm (I think that is what it is called) can cause Last time my cories had fry I tried to gently remove the eggs but I couldn’t do it properly and I damaged the eggs As a result I’m very nervous about trying to remove fry especially because they will be very hard to catch in such a tank Firstly will there be enough food in the tank in the way of infurosa and...
