Their inability to feed themselves isn't a design flaw because it keeps them utterly dependent on their masters, like dogs waiting to be fed. They can't harm so they're always safe, like a dog that won't bite. They follow almost all commands because they're the ultimate good boys, but without their space masters, they obey the local immune people instead. They're telepathic because social species are easier to domesticate and control. But wh... Snack suggestions pls1h agoRecipes are welcome too, but we're looking more for premade snacks. My husband potentially has celiac but cant get in for testing until july (its a work/pto/sick day related issue) the doctor recommended cutting down on gluten(not entirely cutting it out until after tests) to hopefully reduce his symptoms so he doesn't spend half his work day in the bathroom. Problem is, snacks. He eats a LOT of snacks (one of his symptoms is that he eats about 5 times as much food/calories as a person his size should and doesn't gain any weight). We're talking little Debbie's, chips of all varieties, pretzels (dots brand is his favorite), protein bars(one and nocow are his favor... Simple dinner on the cast iron. My name is Anthony, I'm a Project Manager who works at a full-service marketing agency based in New York. While I'm hesitate to drop the name here, I am more than happy to share which agency I work for privately. We specialize in a wide range of services such as branding, graphic design, digital / print marketing, video production, and website design & development. We typically work with local / regional businesses as well as government organizations (think Town/City/County governments, non-profits, etc.). To give you a sense of scope, there are many cities, counties, and agencies that are represented by brands that our firm has created. I have a lifelong in... Feeding Challenges1h agoGood afternoon, I am reaching out to the community of autism parents as an autism grandparent. We have some feeding challenges with our LO she is almost 5 and only takes formula, some soft foods, and yogurt… we are trying to move away from milk based formula but have found it challenging as our girl seems to reject absolutely anything with a pea protein. I’ve been searching for protein powders hoping to find something that we could add to a smoothie/shake but nearly all of them are whey or pea protein. We have tried Orgain, Ripple Kids, and Kate Farms… all an absolute no go for her. She has acid reflux and we do believe it is due to a milk protein allergy. She was on non-dairy formula ... CT chefs & food creators — casting call for a cinematic mini-series1h agoLocal Hartford studio LiteBox is producing a short-form culinary mini-series in early 2026 and we’re looking for a CT-based chef, baker, recipe developer, or food creator to feature. This is not a paid job — it’s a fully produced project (about \~$15k in production value) including filming, editing, studio time, and crew. We’re hoping to spotlight a local food talent whose work deserves a bigger audience. If you’re a chef, small food business owner, home baker, or someone building a culinary brand online, we’d love to see your work. I built an Android tool to automate the "Copy-Paste-Prompt" loop1h agoHi everyone, I built this because I found the standard way of using AI on mobile incredibly inefficient. **Problem:** Every time I wanted to process something on my screen—like a long email, a coding error, or a news article—I had to do the same annoying dance: **Select Text → Copy → Minimize App → Open ChatGPT → Paste → Type Instruction.** It killed my flow. So I built Arc to fix it. **How it works:** Arc is a lightweight overlay that sits on top of your current app. It uses Accessibility Services to "read" the text on your screen whenever you click on the AI action in the sidebar, so you never have to copy-paste manually again. **The cool part:** You bu... FDA launches safety review of two RSV drugs for infants as Kennedy scrutinizes immunizations1h agoThe Food and Drug Administration has launched a safety review of two approved RSV drugs for infants, the latest immunizations to face scrutiny under Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. No safety issues have been reported with either of the respiratory syncytial virus drugs: Beyfortus, from Sanofi and AstraZeneca, and Enflonsia, from Merck. Andrew Nixon, a spokesperson at the Department of Health and Human Services, said in an emailed statement that the FDA is “rigorously reviewing the available data, as it does for all products, to ensure decisions remain rooted in evidence-based science and in the best interest of patients.” “FDA routinely evaluates emerging safety information a... Rooting Cuttings advice1h agoI have a few cutting sitting in about 35% organic 55% perlite 10% sand mix. No water no rooting hormone. It hasn’t rained and no water has been introduced to the system but I checked for roots the other day and the bottoms were moist( they were fully calloused before planting). I don’t think it was a concerning amount of moisture, so I replanted them with a bed of perlite directly under base. Should I do anything or let them ride? Also I’ve read to wait until you see growth to water but two of them are mid cuts, so wouldn’t the only growth be in the form of pups? Freezer Jam Safety1h agoHey everyone, I just made my first batch of freezer jam but I have a question about food safety and google has not given me a conclusive answer. All the recipes say once it’s done throw a lid on it and let it stand at room temp for 24 hours. Everything about that seems wrong? It was not cooked nor is it sealed, so how could it be safe to just chill on the counter for a day? Will it not set if I put it in the fridge and transfer to the freezer after they’ve set? Solo female backpacking CA or SA - Looking for advice1h agoHello! I am a 25F traveler who is interested in backpacking CA or SA Jan-Feb next year. My girlfriends and I are going to be in Tamarindo, Costa Rica for a long weekend. I WFH and decided to extend the trip by about 3 weeks. I backpacked 4 months in SE Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Philipines, Indonesia) and some of my favorite spots were Pai, Koh Muk, Hoi Ann, Siagrao, and Bali/Lombok. I don't mind the touristy spots, love a social hostel, but also enjoy going off the beaten path for some quiet! Big on the beaches, love a good hike, kinda interested in sightseeing but not my main priority, love good food. I will have to work during this time so ideally I am not spending too much time trav... Unsatisfying/Frustration1h agoHi all, So I'm relatively new to the GF-vegan lifestyle, about a month in, and I'm really struggling. Vegan for animal rights and dairy/gluten-free for medical reasons. Challenged with 3 main things: 1) I'm finding food is not NEARLY as satisfying as it was before this. I've done the vegan GF snacks and substitutions (like vegan "cheese"), have eaten foods that are naturally GF-vegan like Hispanic and Indian dishes, etc. But I've eaten maybe 5 meals in the past month where I felt satiated afterward. 2) I'm really struggling with the lack of convenience. I live in a suburban area, so better access than a rural area, but it's inundated with fast... Theory: skin wax extends skin life1h agoMaybe this is well known, but based solely on my anecdotal observations, I've found that regularly applying skin wax to my pomoca skins has increased their lifespan, both of the side contacting the snow, and the glue side. My theory is that skin glue stops to work not only from repeated use, but because the backing gets saturated and/or frozen. Skin wax helps prevent the skin from Absorbing moisture and thus prevents the backing from getting saturated or frozen. I've noticed that friends with the same skins as me have continuous issues with their skin glue failing. I ski the same amount and in the same conditions, but regularly apply universal glide wax or other skin wax to ... Diversification Leeway - BYND Shrimpppp1h agoMaybe this was already here. And i know i know. Maybe not the play for them right now, during this turnaround. First to get the financials in check. But it's good to know they were/ are getting ready to branch out into so many different segments. Based on this, could a BYND BAR be in the works? https://trademarks.justia.com/988/43/n-98843668.html I also like "the GREAT BEYOND". Tennessee's private school voucher renewal begins Dec. 9, new applications open Jan 131h agoJust a reminder for those that are eligible or interested. The selection process changes for the 2026-2027 school year. Per News Channel 9, here is the new prioritization order: * (1) An eligible student who received a scholarship in the immediately preceding school year; * (2) An eligible student whose annual household income does not exceed one hundred percent (100%) of the amount required for the student to qualify for free or reduced price lunch, as provided in the income eligibility guidelines published by the United States department of agriculture's food and nutrition service, or an eligible student who is an eligible student as defined in 49-6-2602 or 49-10-1402, in the order i... Has my 4YO been possessed by something since starting preschool?1h agoMy (just turned 4) daughter used to be so happy and easy to communicate with. She's been talking or signing since age 1, so its always been easy to understand her and meet her needs, and teach her self regulation skills. The first month of school, she was her usual self both inside and outside of school. By month 2, I got nothing but bad reports from her school. Refusing to clean up after herself, forfeiting recess because she didnt want to put her jacket on, refusing to do worksheets that she used to enjoy a year ago at home, taking off her shoes and running away, being disruptive during 30 min rest or nap time despite having access to quiet toys and books. I switched her to a play b... Finally moving to 15mg 😵💫1h agoI always said I’d move to 15mg if I needed a last “boost” to get to goal. My first goal weight was 160lbs, and I hit that! Things were really chugging along at 12.5mg until about November. I noticed a little food noise creeping in, but I wondered if that was just the holidays. What I noticed more was alcohol noise though, and I was drinking a lot more, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that in November I only lost 2lbs (see 3rd image). I’ve been wondering if I’d ever need to go up to 15mg and I’m still torn about it, but this week I asked my doctor to bump me up. Part of the reason for this is uncertainty about being able to stay on Zepbound next year and I hope if I hit goal...
