Have the tank for about 3 weeks. First week i was only adding fish food as amonia source along with beneficial bacteria, than after a week i put in liquid amonia. Lots of it..like 8ppm or so. It ended up spiking nitrites and nitrates over the max level on my test kit. Amonia did go down and i ended up doing 2 50% water changes over 2 days to get them lower. After couple of days the nitrites went to 0 or close to it (hard to tell on my test strip) and nitrites around 25-30. Two days ago i redosed amonia to 2ppm and after a day it was 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 20-50. Yesterday i does ammonia to 1ppm and now its 0, nitrites 0(i think), nitrates 25-40.
