Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Vegan Foods Latest Community Discussions About Vegan FoodsWhat does sotol actually taste like? Honest notes for first-timers.9h agoThe most common description I've heard is: "it tastes like the desert." Which sounds poetic and tells you nothing. Let me try to be more useful. Sotol is dry. That's the first thing to land. Less sweet than tequila, less smoky than most mezcals. The base character tends toward earthy and herbaceous — think dry grass, mineral stone, sometimes a faint pine or eucalyptus note, depending on where the plant grew. There's often a subtle grassiness that reminds people of a grassy scotch, except with a completely different origin. It doesn't burn the way you'd expect for something between 38 and 55% ABV. It warms, but it doesn't scratch. That ... Here’s the practical detergent starting guide I wish I had found first9h agoI’m new-ish to this subreddit and recently went down the detergent rabbit hole. Like a lot of people, I came here thinking the question was simple: >“What laundry detergent should I use?” Then I found dozens of threads, hundreds of comments, enzyme discussions, powder vs liquid debates, hard-water advice, scent arguments, Tide vs Persil vs Gain vs 365, and a lot of very smart people explaining things I didn’t even know mattered. So this is my attempt to put together a **newbie-friendly starting guide** based on the recurring advice I kept seeing here. I’m not claiming this is perfect or official. Please correct anything that’s wrong. My goal is to help other overwhelme... Cat started peeing in laundry bins9h agoMy female orange tabby cat recently turned 2. She’s been showing some behavioral signs of peeing outside litterbox. She has never done this & suddenly it’s been a more than twice a week occurrence. She usually does this in laundry basket. Once she also did it in paper bag, her toy basket & was persistent on doing it in plant pots. I want to understand what can I give her to stop this. The vet has cleared her from urinalysis. She’s all good. In the afternoon & evenings I have seen her going to her regular litterbox. It’s just a morning fiasco. Anyone else experience the same or similar? How did you solve this issue? Some background, there are two cats n th... Tried Making Stir Fry Chicken... It's sweet9h agoI've just started making chinese food. I made a garlic chicken stir fry recipe today but it turned out kind of sweet. Here's how I made it Marinated chicken in cornstarch, shaoxing wine, and salt. Made the sauce with dark and light soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and chicken stock. The recipe called for bullion and water but I didn't have any so switched it with the stock. One mistake I made was adding thrice the amount of chicken stock needed. After that I just sauted chicken and veggies (including garlic), put in the sauce and waited for it to thicken up. What do I do different next time? new persimmon tree/garden centre instructions9h agoi got a persimmon tree, and the garden centre told me not to plant it until the buds on the branches had turned into leaves, and i'm wondering why that is, and if it's advice i should follow. also, based on my reading, it seems like trees tend to be either male or female? should i get another one if i want fruit? Cooking like our ancestors for fun and learning a lot9h agoI started cooking through this old school cookbook mostly out of curiosity and ended up learning way more than I expected. Shoutout to whoever posted about it here a few months back, I couldn't find your post but I appreciate you for putting me on to something awesome. Every recipe is based around food that lasts without refrigeration, and each one includes a bit of history about where it came from and why it existed. It’s basically how people fed themselves when grocery stores, fridges, and constant resupply weren’t a thing. I’ve been trying a couple recipes a week just for fun. Some are pretty unusual by today’s standards, but it’s fascinating to see how much thought went ... New Hampshire is out. What state goes next based on food?9h agoThis post contains content not supported on old Reddit. [Click here to view the full post](https://sh.reddit.com/r/RemoveOneThingEachDay/comments/1taav4l) A post of hope and a personal account of my journey with Lupus9h agoHello Everyone, First off, shout out to the Mod team. I originally posted a version of this and it was removed. I was kind of ******, and reached out to them without a cool head. That was a mistake. Eventually we were able to have a constructive discussion and some feedback was provided that gave me insight to some points that required some clarity and/or disclaimers attached to them. I appreciate them allowing me to come back from a conversation that originally started out as rude on my part to reach a middle ground of understanding. I’m human, I make mistakes. I’m also passionate about this topic, because like all of you, one day my life became forever altered by this disease and it b... 24 [M4A] in Vienna, Austria9h agoHey, you. I know it's very unlikely to find friends or dates on reddit, but I guess you miss all opportunities you don't take. And maybe works better than dating apps. :3 I'm looking for friendship first, because it takes out a lot of pressure in my opinion. But if a romantic relationship develops I would appreciate it ofc. I'm pan in general, but might be more into the feminine side. If we vibe gender is none of my concern though. ★What I'm looking for: Be in my age range. If you're looking for friendship only, age doesn't matter as much. It'd be otimal if you live in the area, but online is more than welcome aswell. Don't be an addict. N... Limited yield: High costs force Northwest Montana farmers to restrict wheat planting9h agoWheat is Montana’s top agricultural crop. Known for its high quality, the state’s wheat makes its way around the world, eventually becoming a variety of baked goods, noodles and pasta. But turning the grain into staple foods sold at the bakery and served on the dinner table is facing challenges, as market constraints and the high cost to produce a decent yield have led some Flathead farmers to forgo planting this spring. Tryg Koch is watching his 500 acres of winter wheat come along, but he’s not planting spring varieties this year. For the co-owner of Heritage Custom Farming, the decision has to do with the cost of production. The crop requires more fertilizer to produc... KRTL Holding Group, Inc. (OTC: KRTL) today announced that its subsidiary, KRTL BlueSpot Inc., has entered into a Strategic Alliance Agreement for the historic Red Rover Mine claim group in Acton, Los Angeles County, California. The project includes a portfolio of 18 federal mining claims associated with the Red Rover Mine. I have a plant bed and a few large pots. I tried to garden last summer but was not very successful. I grew jalapeños, peppers, cherry and roma tomatoes, dill, petunias, marigold, and fuschias. The cherry tomatoes and jalapeños did the best. Marigold held on the longest out of the flowers. I’ve really tried to do research but there is so much that goes in to gardening. I love the colours and the fresh food so much, I’m really hoping to make it thrive this year. Does anyone have tips regarding best things to plant, how to protect them, watering regimens, soil etc. To note- I live in Toronto and it... I built Tabbed — a place to save what you actually care about and see what your friends are into9h agoI save a lot of stuff. Articles I'll definitely read. Restaurants I'll definitely try. Recipes I'll definitely make. Films I'll definitely watch. My friends do the same, except we all do it alone, in different apps. My wife's got recipes screenshotted in her camera roll. My buddy who actually goes to good restaurants has a Google Maps full of pins I'll never see. My friend who reads the most has a Safari window with 200 tabs older than her dog. Everyone's quietly curating their own stuff in their own corner, and we never see each other's. The people whose taste I'd most want to borrow from are the ones I have the least access to. So I built Tabb... Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
