Hi all, just got back from a 3 day 2 night experience with Mauro. I had an amazing time and would like to share a bit about the adventure. Background - Mauro is a member of the Gamboa community in Peru. The community is located across the amazon from Leticia (approx 1.5 hours by boat). Used this recipe but doubled the amount of red curry paste, removed mushrooms (my husband won’t eat them), added bok choy, and made homemade dumplings using Bob’s Red Mill tvp, scallions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and a soy vegan dumpling wrappers. i have a 10 gallon tank with about 10 fish, platys, guppies, danios and an albino cory catfish. they all seem happy and healthy except i was really busy this fall/winter while working 3 jobs and they got kinda neglected :/ i didn't do water changes nearly as much as i should have (maybe twice) and the filter got pretty gross (i just cleaned it with some tank water and it was completely brown and opaque). my issue is now the rocks and plants seem to be covered in gunk, what is it? is it food they didn't eat or poop? is my filter not strong enough? i feed them bug bites tropical flakes if that helps. should i get more bottom feeders? or i can also get a stronger filter if it'll ...
