Hi! I am relatively new to gardening, and I am having fun more or less winging it. I started growing these carrots from seed last year, planted the seedlings into this bed. The green tops have been growing strong, and some of the carrots started to show their shoulders, so I harvested them. They are... uh, interesting! Could someone tell me what went wrong here? My guess is that the soil is too clay-based or compacted that the top and greens grew well but the root was struggling to break through the soil. Feeling catfished by my own carrots, but this is an outcome of winging it Imao

Hello all, I have tried to get egg plants to grow from seed for so many years but I never succeeded and I always end up buying a plant from a nursery. Has anyone succeeded in getting egg plants from seeds or even better from an actual eggplant? I have very good success with tomatoes where I buy dollar tree seed packets or strait from a tomato in a fridge . Same for jalapeños. Re use greens base and get the greens again etc. but egg plants is a whole different game for me Thank you

I'd like a lot of sea creatures and maybe some plant life based on prehistoric life on Earth. There's convergent evolution, so this makes scientific sense. There's likely to be a lot of alien species that look very similar to earth species. But I don't want them to have boring, rough, leathery grey reptile skin. This vegan baked ziti is old school comfort food- it is really pretty easy to make with only about 20 minutes of actual prep time. I use the tofu ricotta for lots of other recipes including lasagna (not stuffed shells- that needs a bit more finesse). This makes a big pan so good for meal prep lunches/dinners throughout the week. Dear God, how I've missed being on a train. I really, really dislike flying. I **** that I had to do it but I had no other option this time. We're slowly rolling out of Grand Central now. My thoughts start to shift as I leave the city behind. It was good, but also kinda intense. 2 days to see the city, 2 days to work. Long days, and I haven't really had time to rest. I've been trying to cycle my first tank. I have plants, ive seeded the tank with quick start bacteria as well as gravel from an established aquarium, and I seem to have biofilm everywhere, but the ammonia i added to the tank (about 2ppm) is not going down at all. I jave a lot of moldy looking biofilm growing on the fish food I added. I just wanna know if im doing this right i guess. Its been about a week and I know cycling usually takes a while but ive been doing all the "quick cycle" methods and I have all this stuff growing but nothing is seemingly happening and im a tad nervous.

My first small blisters started to pop up on my fingers one year ago, thought it was nothing at the time and didn't even take pictures.
