What thyroid medication would you recommend?

2h ago

So thyroid medication is honestly not something anyone should just pick on their own, and I say that from experience of seeing people around me make that mistake. First things first, get your TSH, T3, and T4 tested. Without knowing your numbers, nobody can really recommend anything properly. Not even a doctor. Your doctor will prescribe the right medicine based on whether your thyroid is underactive or overactive. Both conditions have different treatments, and the dosage varies from person to person, too. Many people also add herbal supplements, such as Sheopal’s Thyrobic capsules, to their daily routine alongside prescribed medicines. People include it as an everyday wellness addition ...

Deciding Between UCSD or CPP—(EE)

2h ago

Hello everyone! I was wondering if someone, you guys, could give me advice on which school I should pick for transfer or some advice. I applied and got into UCSD and CPP for EE and UCI for CE. I am not quite unsure which school to pick. Currently I am leaning toward CPP because I like the hands-on learning from Cal Poly's. It's close to where I live, and I can commute, but I am not sure how internship opportunities are or job prospects after finishing the degree. But for UCSD I know it has a good reputation; it has a very strong engineering program, but I dislike how heavily theory-based the school is. Also how are the dorms, food, etc.? (Also is there a way to check dorms witho...

Best vegan food that isn't just a salad?

2h ago

I’ve been in London for a bit now and honestly, I’m struggling to find the "god tier" vegan spots. I feel like everywhere I go, the plant-based option is just a sad burger or a basic salad. I’m looking for something with actual flavor, places that even my meat-eating mates would actually enjoy. Specifically looking for the best vegan Chinese, Indian, or maybe some solid junk food. I’ve heard Tofu Vegan and Temple of Seitan are decent, but are they actually worth the hype or just "Instagram famous"? Drop your favorite hidden gems or the one dish you’d travel across London for!

Vegan German food! Braised red cabbage and gardein brat wurst sausages with boiled yellow potatoes and carrots. Honestly...

Looking for friends

2h ago

Hey there :D I'm a gay dude (closeted) in my mid-20s from India. Interests: Food, culture, geography, design and architecture, plants, fragrance, art, sociology, etc. Feeling quite lonely in my homophobic surroundings. Looking for some chat buddies : ) Heads-up: I'm going through some stuff, so I might vent/rant a lot. Ping me if you have the patience to listen. Thanks x

Orchid help

2h ago

Noticed this morning one of my orchids is very sticky and quite a few of the flowers have died. I’m worried it’s infested with something based on the first picture (some leaves of a nearby monstera also has this….). Any advice on what to do would be appreciated, especially as there are other orchid plants nearby (that so far look okay still!). Thanks.

Hi I'm a mess

2h ago

Hi, everyone. Please be kind, I am incredibly anxious about being open about this. I have always been incredibly anxious about body image and everything that comes with that. Ive always been a heavier human, due to financial reasons as a kid. We couldn't afford much more than spaghetti daily and one meal a day. We're doing better now, but its still hard to budget meals for a family of 4. I was diagnosed pre-diabetic two weeks ago and have started doing what I can to turn it around, but I am massively struggling with anxiety and food insecurity habits, and also diet culture. I'm cutting back on carbs and trying to eat smaller things throughout the day instead of one meal at ...

If you could pick, which nationality/ethnicity would you love to be friends or partners with? 🌍

2h ago

Just a fun and respectful discussion no stereotypes or ****, please. If you had to choose, which nationality or ethnicity would you be most interested in being friends with or even dating/marrying someday? This could be based on culture, language, vibe, food, or just personal curiosity. Personally, I think I’d go with Polish, Chinese, and French. What about you guys? And why?

Chicklovian Response

2h ago

Supercell has pavlov'd me into panicking at the sound of chirping. I can't go outside anymore. Whenever I hear a bird chirping I start panicking and search my entire house for a tiny baby chick the size of a pea. I've torn down my bushes. I've stopped growing plants out of fear that just a harvest will summon a chick-dressed demon, waving a flag of prophecy. Every time I go near the ocean, I shriek at the sight of a cargo freighter. My dog has to fight me for food because I worry that feeding her will summon a cowboy riding a capybara in my house. I've quit my job as a coal miner after having nightmares of TNTinas appearing in hordes. I've been charged with batt...

Mandalas and Yantras in Smarta Ritual — Structures, Orientations, and Symbolic Designs

2h ago

# Introduction to the Smarta Tradition The Smarta tradition occupies a distinctive and sometimes misunderstood position within the broader landscape of Hindu religious practice. The word "Smarta" refers, in its most basic sense, to a Brahmin who is an adherent of the Smriti — the body of ancient orthodox texts in the Vedic tradition, including the Dharmasastras. What makes the Smarta tradition particularly interesting from the perspective of ritual studies is its deliberate attempt to hold together multiple devotional streams without committing exclusively to any single one. Unlike the strictly Shaiva traditions, which orient all worship around the deity Shiva, or the Vaishnav...

How POS Helps Sweet Shops Manage Festivals & High Customer Rush

2h ago

Festivals like Diwali and Raksha Bandhan and occasions like wedding seasons, are the most profitable times for sweet shops, but they are just as challenging as well. At this time, demand increases exponentially, long queues become the norm, and people buy sweets in bulk. https://preview.redd.it/p5q6g0khloxg1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2478b8b51d2bdf2f3c97ae544e98ad4110de317 In such cases, a modern point-of-sale (POS) system can be such a game-changer. **The Festive Rush Challenge – Understanding It** During the festive season, sweet shops face sudden spikes in customer footfall, high expectations of service and speed, and last-minute and bulk purcha...

So I tried Zomato/Swiggy/Toing to see the difference

2h ago

Image Order 1. Zomato 2. Swiggy 3. Toing So in this case Toing fails Zomato wins So my guess is if the restaurant itself is pricey there Toing won’t be much of a help because there are almost no offers around 200-300 price you have to add more to get offers But I tried to see some other restaurants so I tried Mcd On both Swiggy and Zomato Mc Spicy Paneer burger base price is ₹250+ but on Toing that burger with taxes and delivery fee costed ₹208 So check all three before buying basically fast food chains restaurants might be cheaper on Toing

Hi r/alphaandbetausers — first post here, going to be honest. I'm a solo dev from Portugal. For years I tried MyFitnessPal and other trackers, and I always abandoned them. The logging felt too rigid — exact branded products, every gram weighed, no room for "I ate roughly half". Home-made recipes were basically impossible: 10+ minutes per recipe, redo the math any time you tweaked anything. So my data became patchy. So I gave up. Loop. Then I found AI assistants. Chatting with them about food — "I had grilled chicken with rice, roughly 200g, how am I doing today?" — actually worked. Conversational logging clicked in a way structured logging never had. But t...

24 [M4F] - India - Amateur Chef and tinkerer

2h ago

I’m a 24-year-old living in Hyderabad. I’ve always been the type of person who needs to know how things work. Whether it’s a piece of software, a recipe, or the way a city is designed, I’m constantly curious and usually have a "project" of some kind running in the background. I’m a mix of an analytical mind and a creative soul. I appreciate logic and systems, but I also value the simple, quiet moments—like a perfectly brewed tea or a long walk as the sun sets. What my days actually look like: 1. The "Creative" Side: In my free time, I’m usually deep-diving into low-level coding. I find a lot of peace in building things from scratch (like custom graphics o...

Aristaeus, Patron Deity of Stardew

2h ago

So, obviously, there is an in-game religion based around Yoba, but! I'd like to bring attention to the existence of a specific greek hero. Aristaeus. Aristaeus is an ancient Grecian mythological culture hero, who is credited with the discovery of many rural crafts. Son of Apollo and the huntress Cyrene, he had many teachers throughout his life; From Chiron, the Muses, and his father Apollo, Aristaeus learned the arts of prophecy, healing and herblore. From Artemis and his mother, Cyrene, Aristaeus learned how to track, hunt, and trap animals. From the Thessalian nymphs who raised him, Aristaeus learned dairying and how to prepare milk for cream, butter, oxygala and cheese; how to...

Tripping to Sikkim (East & South) + logistics breakdown 🏔️

2h ago

Hey guys, did a trip to Sikkim recently and wanted to drop my itinerary and budget breakdown here for anyone planning something similar. I actually skipped North Sikkim entirely. I know everyone hypes it up, but I was looking for a chill reset trip. So, I stuck to East and South Sikkim instead. Here’s the breakdown of how I did it, the transit, and the costs. # ✈️ Transit & Getting There * ₹7k - ₹7.5k: Flew from Mumbai to Kolkata. (Note: You can fly directly to Bagdogra, but I had some work in Kolkata first). * ₹1k - ₹1.5k: Train from Kolkata to NJP instead of flying. * ₹60: NJP station to Siliguri Bus Stand. * ₹500: SNT Bus Stand to Gangtok. # 🗺️ Itinerar...

Seek your fortune as a ship captain in the Age of Sail, with realistic sailing and navigation mechanics

3h ago

Most sailing games treat ships just like cars on water. I’d like to play a game with more realistic sailing mechanics. You control a ship with multiple sails which you can furl and unfurl, some of them turn, etc. and you have a rudder and an anchor. You control the ship by giving orders to your crew, like a real captain. You don’t have a GPS-style map. Instead, you must use “paper” maps, a compass, a sextant/the stars, and keeping track of time and your speed to determine your position and find your way to your destination. Wind and weather conditions change over time, meaning you have to adjust. If it’s cloudy, you won’t be able to use the stars to navigate. If the wind is blow...

How much do you spend?

3h ago

I’m 37M, married based in London. I earn £150k basic, my wife earns £40k. I get decent sized commissions and I have a little side hustle. I’m trying to get to a decent sized investment pot so I’m saving as much as possible, but I’ve probably limited myself to £1,500 spending a month since I started working (my wife probably spends about £1.2k). That includes food shops, travel to work and discretionary spending, doesn’t include holidays and big one off purchases (that I try to limit). How much are people in this group spending per month? I’m starting to get fed up of being fairly limited.
