Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Vegan Foods Latest Community Discussions About Vegan Foodsa Vegan diet can NEVER be as good as a animal heavy diet especially during DEVELOPMENT0m agoThe vegan diet lacks nutrient bioavailability, many humans have trouble with their conversion rates of certain pigments into nutrients and the conversion rates of plant nutrients to animal nutrients, and these conversion rates vary heavily on populations, some populations have a very hard time for example converting beta-carotene into vitamin A. And lets assume that in reality a vegan diet could still sustain proper blood serum micronutrient levels, it still lacks the proper ideal activation of growth mechanisms like mTOR (mTORC1), things like Arachidonic Acid, and the elevated blood serum igf-1 levels from dairy products. And now yes, you could supplement leucine to artifically create this... Looking for recipes adapted to pressure rice cookers2m agoHi everyone, I got difficulties to find recipes specifically adapted for a pressure rice cooker. Can you help ? Background info: \\- I recently got a pressure IH rice cooker from Zojirushi. I am having fun testing different types of rice, but now I’d like to test recipes combining rice with other ingredients, and make nice and diversified one-pot meals. \\- Pressure rice cookers are particular as several types of ingredients are apparently forbidden/not recommended. \\- I used already ingredients like chicken, carrots and shiitake, but I’d like to go further to exploit the possibilities of the cooker. \\- recipes for rice cookers and for pressure cookers are easy to find, but ... Gastritis is confusing tf out of me4m agoHi all, For background I am a 24yr/F dealing with stomach issues for over a year now. About once a month I get a severe flare up that has sent me to the emergency room twice since I wasn’t able to eat/drink or stop throwing up for 8+ hours at a time. I got diagnosed with gastritis by endoscopy in Nov ‘25. Since then I have been taking PPI and immediately changed my diet to bland and curing foods. I was so beyond miserable, and I dropped weight like crazy. I mentally could not take it anymore and just reverted back to my normal eating style which is minimizing fat/oil/spicy cooking, and eat out pretty much wherever I want on weekends. I know this isn’t best practice but I’ve eaten f... Input needed: Do your scuds eat plants?4m agoI see so many mixed experiences with this, so I want to conduct a bit of a survey. I think there are factors at play like species and feeding that influence this. If you could, please tell me: 1. What species do you have? Hyallela? Gammarus? A pic would be great too with as much detail as possible. If there is a place you bought them, that would help too, and I can reach out to try to determine species. 2. What plants do you keep and which are eaten? Any predators in the tank (ideally we look at tanks with no predators, but if you have one with and one without, please note the differences) How dense are the scuds when consumption of healthy or seemingly healthy plants begins? 3. Do you... Trip report and review: North Folk Night Market (Phillipston, MA)6m agoOn February 14, 2026, I attended the North Folk Night Market at Red Apple Farm in Phillipston, MA, same site as the [Enchanted Orchard Renaissance Faire](https://www.reddit.com/r/renfaire/comments/1qxmvc5/ranking_all_renaissance_faires_ive_been_to_9/). While not a traditional Renaissance Faire (more of a Viking theme than a Medieval England theme), it has artisans, performers, and dressing up in fun outfits, all with a pre-1700 theme, so I'd say this still counts (Faires are also always Europe-based to my knowledge, though I think a Faire based on pre-1700s Asia or Africa would be *amazing*). However, while I've been to 12 different Ren Faires before this, [ranking them all](https:... Vegetarian Low-Residue/fiber recipes??16m agoI'm caring for my dear friend (44yo/F) who was just diagnosed S4, she starts treatment next week so right now we preparing to set her and family up with meals. She's a long time vegetarian and used to eating nutrient and fiber dense foods so this low-residue diet is really new to all of us. Sounds like she may be on this diet for quite a long time so... I'd love to know any meat-free meals, dishes or recipes that are more interesting than just 'butter rice' or 'applesauce' or 'olive oil spaghetti'. Honestly, the meal suggestions from the health centers leave soooooo much to be desired. Thanks! Game beat, BRUTAL, no guides, no tutorials, went in blind.18m agoWHAT A GAME. BRAVO. I started playing one week before 1.0 release. I had not played before. I knew the game existed, but did not know anything about it except that it had been in development for years by Pavonis, and I knew them and what they had done before. No mods. No "reroll" savescumming (some saves and loads when I misclicked once or that type of thing). Not a perfect game, but definitely the most ambitious game I've played. Very fun. I told my children this is the **Gigabraingame**. Below is: 1. What I did to learn the game on my own 2. Planning my Brutal Strat 3. Recount of the game 4. What I would like to see going forward. SKIP to the part you want! Thanks Pavo... 100% Raw Vegan19m ago100% raw vegan salad with all-organic ingredients, including kale, arugula, chard, red leaf lettuce, baby butter lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, garlic, carrots, and apples. I added walnuts for crunch and seasoned it with nutritional yeast, liquid aminos, lemon juice, and olive oil. For the dressing, I blended avocado, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and apple cider vinegar in a food processor. This salad is fresh, flavorful, and packed with nutrients. 100% Raw Vegan21m ago100% raw vegan salad with all-organic ingredients, including kale, arugula, chard, red leaf lettuce, baby butter lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, garlic, carrots, and apples. [Click here to view the full post](https://sh.reddit.com/r/TOWN/comments/1r7kgh4) I'm running up against a wall.28m agoThis has been my first serious playthrough, and I wanna stick with it. But I'm kinda unsure of what to do. It's November 5th (I use 12 day months) and already too cold for growing crops (they are currently reading 50% yield, but I don't believe they'll finish growing before it gets too cold altogether). I have a little homestead created, I have a small cellar full of crocks of meat stew and clay vessels full of mushrooms, bush meat, and SOME crops (I started planting late, and only got one full crop of onions, rye and spelt, which translated into a couple stacks of each). I'm not sure if I have enough food to get through the winter, but I'm pretty sure I'll... Sliced spiral ham28m agoThe food pantry gave me a gigantic sliced spiral ham but the problem is that no one in my household enjoys this type of meat. But I couldn’t say no to the protein. How can I cook it that is not sweet and actually tastes different from traditional ham recipes? I’ve done stir fry and soups but is there a way to make it that is not found from google searches? Like maybe I should bread and fry it? Pass me that, uh, 9x19 ammo yeah that's the one29m agoEvery patch I grow weary of the absolute drastic and seemingly unknown changes us 'beta' testers endure. From seemingly careless function renames. Of which the modding community has no idea is coming, camelcase be ****** and your 100k+ subscribers. Or cumbersome UI elements adding necessary and honestly down right unintuitive windows and menus like the crafting system. To adjusting the loading screen with hints just like Minecraft, that tells you to, "Also try Minecraft!" But now we're renaming fundamental / core items in the game ? Why is ammo all of a sudden so technical. Are we now ballistics experts in the zombie apocalypse ? When we go to stores we ask the... Lesion in brain with odd symptoms and bloodwork- HELP29m agoHello everyone! I am a 25F (AFAB) I am diagnosed with fibromyalgia since May 2025, PCOS since 2016 and idiopathic hypersomnia since 2024. I currently take sertraline 100 mg once a day in the am and I take Tonmya (sublingual cyclobenzaprine) for fibromyalgia. For the record my new symptoms started before taking Tonmya. So about 2 months ago I started having episodes of falling, losing balance, muscle weakness, and occasionally unable to swallow my food leading to slight choking. I have fallen probably 15 times since these symptoms began, but with no injuries as I can usually fall against a wall etc. My PCP ordered a brain MRI a week ago and they found a lesion. I am curious if this lesion alo... Update on melted interior rocket design38m ago**Hello again!** After my first attempt, where I f\*\*\*\*\* up by being off by one block on everything, I am now happy enough with my design to share. I wanted a rocket for enough dupes to comfortably live on board for a long time, so I could colonize the system effortlessly. I decided to use hydrogen from bees as my power source and designed the rest following this idea. I also wanted to be able to have some bionics on the rocket, so I not only had to have a water-, but oilstorage as well. The design can still be improved on a lot, and some things are unnecessary and/or suboptimal, but it is working well enough for the last hundred cycles that it completely fulfills its purpose. **Th... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
