What represents your DR self?

1h ago

This may sound confusing, but what are things that represent your DR self? Like emoji combos or types of flowers or food or color combos or literally ANYTHING! For my main DR self, I like to associate Cherry Blossom Trees to my hair + 🌸🌟💠🩵😶‍🌫️ as emojis that are based around my DR self. 🌸 being the hair 🌟 being a reference to the gold highlights my costume has + how I’m always trying to outshine my classmates 💠 being an emblem on my hero costumes chest + favorite color 🩵 again, favorite color 😶‍🌫️ being a reference to one of my special moves. I also have steampunk based around my hero costume! I also like to represent strawberry milkshakes t...

Pregnant and work stress

1h ago

Hi. I’m 28 weeks pregnant. I work for a district nurse team. I’ve been struggling with back pain, pelvic pain and much much more. My manager has done risk assessment however I don’t think it’s actually effective as I am still driving around like a crazy woman and doing heavy patient and visit involving lots of pushing/pulling, turning/twisting, bending, sitting down etc. when ever I feel like I can’t do certain patients I have tried contacting manager however she never answers my phone or calls me back. So after a certain point I got fed up trying to sort my list of patients out and I just carry on with whatever is given to me. Even with the bad back and pelvic I’ve carried on ...

Why does preparing food feel like performing a ritual you don't fully understand

1h ago

My dad spent an entire weekend perfecting his technique for smoking salmon even though nobody in the family particularly loves salmon. He researched wood chips and brine recipes and temperature controls with an intensity usually reserved for actual problems. The fish came out fine I guess, but the satisfaction seemed to come more from the process than the result. He mentioned ordering a specialized thermometer from Alibaba that tracks temperature remotely through an app on his phone. The whole setup felt excessive for something he might do twice a year, but I realized it wasn't about the salmon at all. It was about having a project with clear steps and measurable outcomes when so...

Today is my lucky day.

1h ago

Here are the lucky things that happened to me today: 1. I woke up alive. 2. My mom did the kitchen work for me. 3. I have healthy relationships. 4. I had hot water for my shower 🚿 5. God has given me everything I need—good food, clothes, family, love, shelter, money, health, happiness, peace (sukoon), and so much more. 6. My tea and vegetables did not get burned. 7. I scored 9 out of 10 in a quiz that was based purely on my guess. My priorities in life are: 1. My eternal God 2. My health, mental well-being, and inner peace 3. My career and self-growth 4. My family and love 5. Other responsibilities

Analysis paralysis - Please spend my money for me

I live in South Florida for the last decade and I want a boat. I'm going to say I digress now because some of this might come off as insane ramblings because I've spent so much time toiling over this that I've lost it entirely. I'm sure this post happens fairly often and I'm sorry if it's annoying. I'm getting into my late '30s I grew up in the mountains and my entire life I had four wheelers, dirt bikes and side by sides. If I had a motor we drove it, broke it, fixed it and rode it again. Trying to find a boat and reading about all of it online is like trying to pick a fast food restaurant based on its Google reviews. In my early years I was a mecha...

Does anyone else expand too large, too quickly?

1h ago

Currently, I am playing K2. I recently unlocked the second to last tech card and maintain ≈ 1200 SPM. When looking through the tech tree, I see that I will unlock a new faster, and larger assembler as well as a new chemical plant. I would obviously love to use those, but I just spent about 20 hours remaking my base and really don’t want to redesign all of my builds from the ground up for the 3rd time. How do you avoid this? Do you just keep chugging along and use the new buildings going forward? Or, do you redesign?

Missed lot/grade mismatches cost hours and scrap - detect them the instant they’re scanned.

Abrasives and minerals: catch inventory discrepancies at the scan In abrasive and nonmetallic minerals manufacturing, small data errors quickly become rework and downtime. Paper checks and legacy screens make it hard to spot issues before they hit the mill. Cleverence guides operators on rugged Android devices. Scan bulk bags, supersacks, pallets, or WIP totes; the app checks grade, lot, weight, and location against your ERP in real time. If something’s off, the device alerts and suggests the next step - quarantine, relabel, or redirect. Baby in the baking world. I require advice please. (Pic unrelated)

1h ago

Greetings, bakers. I joined a baking class recently with pretty much zero knowledge apart from "follow the recipe and hope for the best" and made an absolute fool of myself for the the past two classes. I'd like to arm myself with some knowledge so I won't look like a complete ***** for the next class but don't know where to start. What should I focus on to give myself a solid base as a beginner?

Your hometown?

1h ago

So, I am a truck driver in my actual life. Not over the road, but locally, as a bix truck driver. I do traverse three counties daily. I am a firm enjoyer of people-watching and landscape viewing. I have also loved the feeling of nostalgia, especially the forlorn kind; the kind as you drive through a fading rural town knowing it was perhaps once lively, but is now dying, fading with each year. Have since I was a kid. I've also been enamored by cyberpunk's world since I was a little one, reading through my much older brother's sourcebooks he'd leave laying around. Dystopia draws me in like little else in fiction. My father and I used to watch the Terminator films, Escape fr...

From Zero to "Mamma-mia!" how do you rate my Spaghetti?

1h ago

Newcomer to the automation genre discovering how much spaghetti one ends up with when building an unplanned base. If you can believe it, this started of relatively cleanly with the four resources (all but sulphur) coming from each corner of the base, but new recipes began mixing and matching so many materials that I eventually gave up trying to make it pretty and just embraced the spaghetti.

"A Lamarckian scare" – Dawkins (1982)

1h ago

Right off the bat, I know how to type em- and en-dashes :) (https://xkcd.com/3126/) **Lamarck's twin zombie** To set the mood, I'd like begin by quoting an excellent post on this subreddit, [_Lamarckian evolution is (still) false_](https://www.reddit.com/r/evolution/comments/1ijmcj7/lamarckian_evolution_is_still_false/) (italics and bold mine): _Despite Lamarck’s theory of evolution being thoroughly debunked for over 200 years, it persists as a **zombie** due to a combination of ignorance of history among biologists and a philosophical desire among some to prescribe purpose and agency to organisms._ — u/talkpopgen (Zach)   Zach makes the point that even Darwin...

I love this game. Here are my (little) ideas to make it better.

1h ago

## Building * Snap to grid and/or snap to things already built. * Stop rocking when building at sea. If the boat is rocking and I'm on the boat, then so am I. The ground should appear stable to me. * Routable cables. Allow us pick up, move, and tighten cable/extenders without needing to remove or rerun them. * Let us anchor things in place, like shelves. I would love to stack storage boxes on shelves but they don't fit and the shelves keep being pushed around like they have no weight. * Let us nudge things after they're built. Maybe not a full move, but allow us to at least straighten it. * Let us design and build our own boat. Make a shipyard. Collect hull blueprints. Let us ...

Social issues to the right, economic issues to the left. Am I alone?

1h ago

At the current moment, in the United States, it's my opinion that we are too far left on social issues and too far right on economic issues. I think that the ideal policy is a balanced policy, combining the good ideas from the right and left. Because of this apparently radical position of mine, I find that I don't belong anywhere and get dogpiled according to who I am talking to and the issue we're talking about. What I know for sure is that neither party even comes close to representing my beliefs on how society should operate, which is why I'm politically independent. Social issues have gone too far left: \- Equal rights and protections under the law are important fo...
