Need a bit of guidance Rajah x Robcantleyi BE 4019

My step son's dad was an AVID botanist when he passes at his house we found thousands of plants. A vast majority of them have died from neglect before we got to them I found this survivor at the base of a tee surrounded by a few other dead pitcher plants. I took it in and put it under grow light and have been caring for it. The last leaf has just finished uncurling and i see another one coming behind it. Currently I water it with RO water and was wandering if i can add any fertilizer to the water. I know they get their nutrients from insects but considering it has been living a super hard life it might be a while before the new pitcher develops. I keep it at 55% min soil humidity. You...

Year 4 homesteading alone in central Slovakia — what exists, what I'm building, and the very specific kind of per...

I'm David, Belgian, on a 4-hectare forested property in central Slovakia. Started from nothing — no existing structures, no local farming network, no prior experience beyond reading, logic, and stubbornness. What exists now: 1000+ fruit trees (cornelian cherry, walnut, fig, aronia, kiwai, goji, amelanchier, quince and more), productive garden, goats, sheep, bees, chickens, dogs, cats. Primary shelter: a caravan, wood-heated, rainwater-fed. Unheated greenhouse operational. Currently building: walipini greenhouse, A-frame cabin for helpers, root cellar, semi-buried permanent structure. **What year 4 actually looks like** The physical infrastructure is functional and growing. The hard...

Help! Need advice on amending PNW garden soil ... dramatically!

3h ago

I have good friends who live just a few miles away from me in the PNW, and we have shared gardening tips and veggies we have grown over the past 3-4 years. Only it turns out my dear friends don't know much at all about DIRT. So assume they have done no crop rotations, no cover crops, no covering of their beds in the winter. Just winging it year after year and doing not terribly badly, all things considered. But given the PNW rainy seasons those beds had nutrients washed away every Winter, but fierce. Which brings us to: they had declining results in crop quality and quantity (after years of no soil amendments) and so 2 years ago they decided that their garden beds (above ground - built...

built an app that checks if plants/food are safe for pets, would dog owners find this useful? (no advertisement)

3h ago

started because i had lilies on my kitchen table not knowing they're deadly for cats lol. scared me enough to build this it's an app where you photograph a plant or food and it tells you if it's safe for your pet. started with cats, expanded to dogs. identifies then verifies against a toxicity database to make sure its correct here's a demo [https://imgur.com/a/XP70aKc](https://imgur.com/a/XP70aKc) at the stage where i'm just trying to figure out if this is a real problem people would pay to solve or if i should move on lol. honest takes appreciated: 1. would you use this if you had a pet? 2. what features would make it a keeper? 3. too niche or is niche actuall...

would you use an app that scans plants/food to check if they're safe for your cat? (no advertisement)

3h ago

genuine question lol, so i found out lilies are deadly for cats AFTER having them on my kitchen table for like 2 weeks. my cat was fine thankfully but it scared me enough to build this app basically you photograph a plant or food and it tells you if it's toxic for your cat. it identifies it and then double checks against a real toxicity database so it's not just guessing lol not advertising, honestly just trying to figure out if cat owners would actually use something like this or if everyone just googles it and that's good enough here's a vid [https://imgur.com/a/XP70aKc](https://imgur.com/a/XP70aKc) what would you want from something like this? like: * emergency v...

rate my simple base

3h ago

idk how to add a video in this post, so here are picture of my base. yall could use the sec map pic to have an idea of what the order of pictures look like, since i rotate the camera a lot when taking pictures. dont mind the wildfire because i turn it off already. i have setted the teleport station outside the base in case of any hound/boss raid. i don't like over decoration, so i minize the unecessary as much as posiple to keep it "visually healthy", but still keep it organized. some thoughs when building it: * hexagon and circle are the great shape for base since it will not leave any ugly edge. i can extend the base in any direction and best fit for the camera rotating...

My current starts growing under 2 SF1000s

3h ago

All my tomato starts. Started from seed on same day in same seed tray. First picture were up potted on time (3 for each of the 16 varieties I planted from seed). Each consecutive picture are starts that were up potted later and later and the last picture they haven't been up potted yet. Has been so fun to watch them grow. To watch how some do better than others despite everything being the same. How the plants look different based on variety being grown. Of the (3×16) original set, only one plant in one set has been doing oddly very poorly. While a few others are more wilty, but its been the same set of 3 from one variety, so maybe that specific set somehow doesnt like out climat...

Is “create urgency” overrated for some industries? Struggling with low-urgency sales

3h ago

I’m curious if anyone else sells in a cycle that’s basically: reach out -> educate -> they come back when they're ready. I’m selling bookkeeping & accounting. Compared to other stuff I’ve sold, it’s a very different rhythm. In most sales roles I’ve had, the playbook is: * get the lead * create urgency / excitement * follow up hard * close in a defined window or be forgotten But in bookkeeping/accounting, there often isn't a natural urgency unless the prospect is already in pain (Tax stress, messy books, missed Business Activity Statement, cashflow diasters, etc.). In maybe 90% conversations, it’s more like: “Cool, makes sense… but we’...

Seeking U.S. Citizen Sunni Hanafi Muslim Man (25–32, Bisexual or Asexual) for Lavender Marriage

3h ago

Assalamualaikum, I am currently in the United States seeking a practicing Sunni Hanafi Muslim man for marriage, who is a U.S. citizen, between the ages of 25–32, and identifies as bisexual. A little about myself: I am 25 years old, born and raised in the United States. I wear hijab, pray regularly (nearly five times a day), and strictly consume zabihah food. I value my faith deeply and strive to grow stronger in it every day. I am a bisexual woman, but I do not intend to act on my attraction toward women. I am seeking a partner who is similar in this regard—someone who is also bisexual but committed to not acting on those desires, and who is serious about living within the boundaries ...

What is killing my Tomatoes?

3h ago

Planted mainly is coconut coir with a bit of miracle grow seed starting plant food mixed into the water at the recommended levels. Probably a combination of issues if I had to guess. Possibly too dry, too wet, mold, not enough or some nutrients and too much of others. Help me figure this out please. I have 3 rows of grow lights about 2 inch from the top and have been doing this for years with high success but I usually use peat pods and this year I’m trying a different system.

Freezing Yeast Dough?

3h ago

I have a favorite no knead bread recipe. Base ratios are 3 & 1/4 c flour, 1 packet of yeast, salt and water. I sell a lot of this. I’m newly pregnant and I’m trying to think ahead about ways to stay on top of my orders. My current process involves an initial 90 minute rise, shape and then do a 30 minute rise in the pan before baking. I’m wondering if I could shape the dough and then freeze it before that second rise. Then once I pull it out, allow to thaw/rise in the pan and bake. I do plan to test it, I’m just looking for opinions and experiences of others. Doing this would allow me to prep a bunch in advance, which would be helpful as my pregnancy progresses.

Week 7 of Flower, do these plants look okay?

3h ago

Hey experienced growers of this community, I am asking for your input as I have never had a single plant make it past vegetation stage until now. Week 7 of flower began yesterday. I am growing 4 plants (all purple zkittlez) from 4 seeds. They are planted in organic living soil and only watered from self wicking water bases for the last few months. I am wondering if these plants look healthy and okay? Is the coloring of the leaves and the yellowing of larger fan leaves okay? Should I cut off these leaves as they turn yellow? I have no idea what I’m doing honestly and I am asking for any advice possible. Thank you all!
