And while medication and supplements have their place, what you eat every single day is the most consistent lever you have. A recent systematic review of 75 intervention studies found that fruits and vegetables reduced inflammatory markers in 80% of studies, followed by fish at 78% and whole grains at 64%. These aren't marginal effects. In people with existing conditions or risk factors, the numbers were even stronger. Here's what a low inflammation approach actually looks like in practice: **Build your meals around these:** Fatty fish lik... tips to improve (from diamond player)47m ago1. Gorakṣanātha's Bhūtiprakaraṇa (1150-1250 CE)48m ago**Historical Context of the Nātha Tradition and the Emergence of Tantric Alchemy** The Nātha Sampradāya stands as one of the most influential ascetic lineages in medieval Indian spirituality, blending elements of Śaivism, tantra, haṭha yoga, and the pursuit of supernatural perfections known as siddhis. At its core lies the figure of Gorakṣanātha, revered as the systematizer of haṭha yoga and a mahāsiddha who transformed esoteric practices into a path accessible to dedicated practitioners. Emerging between the 11th and 13th centuries, this tradition emphasized the transformation of the physical body into an immortal, divine vehicle capable of transcending ordinary human limitatio... How to Make Positive Change without Spending Money50m agoYou might have heard of the many attempts to rescue the planet or provide help to those that are less fortunate. It's up to you if you choose to invest in a cause, but it's good to remember it doesn't have to be expensive. This article shows a variety of ways to support others and even the planet without actually spending money or (much) time. 1 Use "Click to Give" programs. Did you know that you can plant trees for free every day and donate money to charities through "Click to Give" programs? It's easy to do and makes a difference in the fight against climate change. 'Click to Give' is a way that some organizations are using a... Made green apple kettle corn52m agoMade this test batch of green apple kettle corn. Tried to follow a recipe i found on youtube but it didnt come out very green this was our third attempt and it came out perfect. We mixed the green gell food coloring with the sugar then added it right after putting the kernels. The Whirley pop did get stuck tho so we had to shake it a bit might try liquid food coloring next time. After it was popped we added salt and green apple jello flavoring. 31 m - looking to make a friend or most likely have a short chat.56m agoI like music (generally 40s-80s, but of course some contemporary artists too), fine art, film (lately been watching a lot of foreign) food (plant based), water (cold), and sleep (not getting enough). Not really into video games or anime (unless it's a film). Small talk is okay because it leads to big talk. Is Mitra9 actually popular or just hype?58m agoSeeing *Mitra-9* pop up more and more lately, and it’s interesting how it’s tapping into the whole plant-based wellness drink trend. It feels like people are really connecting with the idea of relaxation + balanced energy, and that shift seems pretty real right now. **👀 Curious:** * Have you tried it yet? * What stood out to you? * Do you think it’s just getting started or already growing fast? Feels like something that could quietly turn into a big trend 👇 Roommate Search—Brooklyn :)58m agoHi, I’m (29M) looking for a roommate for before June 1 in Brooklyn. Interested in room take overs, sublets, and teaming up (under the right circumstances). More about me below Hobbies include: fitness (gym, dance, running, hiking, etc.), reading, crafts, movies/media, art experiences, gaming (consoles, computer, board), food/cooking, comedy, graphic design, audio engineering and more each day. The secret language of birthdays. I just think little of it. And I suspect you do to. It’s hardly a strong reference to support astrological personality profiling. The entire premise is based on there being 9 planets (and the sun), and used a jokingly simplistic method of numeric reduction (eg 13 —> 4) to divide the 365 days into divinations. You can start at January 1 (1, Sun), and it just repeats: DOB. Number. Planet. Jan 1: 1, Sun Jan 2: 2, Moon Jan 3: 3, Jupiter … Jan 9: 9, Mars Jan 10(1): Sun Jan 11(2): Moon Jan 12: 3, Jupiter Jan 13: 4, Uranus and so on. There’s no dependence on zodiac, year, month. Ephemerides. Aspects. Angles... I think my friend has an ed and idk what to do (please read)1h agookay so a bit of backstory I have a friend group of 5 people. Me, Markella, Bella, Hunter and Benny.. Benny and Bella are twins. Benny has a past with an eating disorder. In Middle school (before I was apart of the group) he wouldn't eat for days and dropped >!8!< pounds in one week. Because he has a twin, his sister seeing him not eat made her not want to eat. which made Markella not want to eat. It was like a chain reaction. On my end I also suffer from anorexia. I wasn't friend with them until 8th grade so I was already having my struggles. but the point is that Benny has a past with ED and he was fully recovered for a while (so I thought) My ED got worse in 2... The COMPLETE self love transformation guide nobody talks about but actually changes everything1h agoi've spent the last 6 months going down the self love rabbit hole. books, therapy podcasts, research papers, way too many 1am youtube videos about attachment theory. finally organizing it all because every guide i found was either toxic positivity nonsense or so vague it was useless. here's what actually shifts things, organized so you can find what you need. * **Self love isn't bubble baths, it's how you talk to yourself when you mess up:** the inner dialogue thing sounds basic but it's foundational. most of us have a voice in our head that would get us fired if we talked to coworkers that way. * start noticing the tone, not just the words. harsh? dismissive? th... This book made me think about how our grandparents actually ate1h agoA couple of months back I remember seeing a Reddit post where someone mentioned this old style cookbook focused on how people ate before modern food systems. I meant to comment and ask about where they got it then completely lost the post. If you’re the person who originally suggested it, thank you, because it stuck with me enough that I went looking for it later and it’s honestly changed how I think about food. We’re so used to fridges, supermarkets, and next-day delivery that I never really stopped to think about how people actually ate before all of that existed. The book is basically a collection of recipes designed to last months or even years without refrigeration. The same kind... Tired of tourist traps? I spent 2 weeks in the Balkans without hitting a single overhyped spot (and saved a ton) 🌍1h agoI just spent **two weeks in the Balkans for €650 total** (flights excluded) and didn't step foot in a single "must-see" spot or overhyped tourist trap. Seriously, screw the Instagram crowds. After a few trips where I felt like I was just following a human conveyor belt from one overpriced selfie spot to the next, I decided my next adventure would be different. I wanted *real* experiences, local flavors, and a bit of a challenge without breaking the bank. So, I grabbed a backpack and pointed myself at the Balkans, specifically aiming for places travel guides barely whisper about. --- **The Anti-Itinerary: Where I Went & What I Skipped** My goal wasn't a count... Building a Nationwide Black-Owned BBQ Directory of Real Deal Spots You’ve Gotta Try1h agoI'm testing a small list of Black-owned BBQ spots in Chicago to see if this kind of directory is useful. The plan is to expand nationwide if it's helpful! This directory highlights Black-owned BBQ restaurants across the country — real local flavors, rich history, and community roots. I’m building this list to help people find the best spots and support these amazing businesses. Feel free to suggest your favorites I'm missing or ones you think deserve more love! **CHICAGO BBQ DIRECTORY** • **Lem’s (Chatham)** * Chicago-style rib tips • **Leon’s (Auburn Gresham)** * Rib tips + hot links • **Soul & Smoke (Avondale)** * Central Texas–influenced ... The Quest.1h agoCan’t help you. But I can tell you that I took that quest myself many years ago. I was having brunch at some cafe in Australia on a Saturday morning, hung over and hanging for a coffee. I’d met some girl the night before and in the morning she dragged me along to have a coffee with her friend. They greet, I groan, we’re sitting on stools, they’re bright and perky, I’m a guy the morning after the night before. There’s an endless stream of chit flowing between them. Or possibly chat. My brain was mostly shut down. Incapable and unwilling to focus on more than the little clouds in my coffee. In the middle of the incessant catching up going on, my brain suddenly picked out a phrase... Iron supplement absorption is way more sensitive to timing than most people realize1h agoThis comes up a lot and the gaps in common advice are worth spelling out. Non-heme iron (the form in most supplements and plant foods) is absorbed at roughly 2-20% baseline. That range is heavily influenced by what you take it with: Things that significantly reduce absorption: \-Coffee and tea: tannins and polyphenols chelate iron directly. Studies show reductions of 60-90% depending on strength and timing \- Calcium: competes with iron for the same transporter. Dairy, calcium supplements, and antacids all count \- High-fiber foods: phytates in whole grains and legumes bind iron in the gut Things that increase it: \- Vitamin C: taking 100-200mg alongside iron can increase non-heme ... Someone posted an idea for a story - I took them up on it1h agoI am not a sci-fi writer or YA writer, but I figured I would take a shot - The original idea - by u/SunkistStarburst \- **Chapter One: Two Jobs, One Bed** The fryer timer didn’t beep. It accused. It had a frequency that seemed designed by somebody in a distant corporate office who’d once asked a consultant how to make urgency feel personal. It went off and Ben felt, instantly and irrationally, that he had failed the fries in some moral way. Not overcooked them. Betrayed them. He yanked the basket up too fast. Grease snapped at his wrist. He salted the batch with the distracted, jerky rhythm of a man trying to put out a fire with weather. Half the salt missed and hit the floor. He d... The huda beauty ube powder made me look up what is ube and try the real food1h agoThe new huda beauty ube powder drop has everyone talking about ube beauty trends right now. The soft purple brightening effect works incredibly well on olive skin tones to cancel out yellow undertones. I realized I had no idea what the actual plant was outside of the cosmetic world. I searched what is ube and learned it is a starchy purple yam from the Philippines. I wanted to try the real flavor so I bought some Ube Superfood powder online to bake with this weekend. The food is just as vibrant as the makeup powder. It has a mild nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with vanilla and coconut. It is so fun seeing a cosmetic color theory trend introduce people to a completely new cultural ingred... Is this a sucker or new growth?1h agoI planted this right before fall last year and I just noticed that there's growth coming out from under the soil. I felt where it's growing from and it seems to be from the lower base of the plant just below the surface. I know alot of branches did not survive the winter but i was wondering if this new growth is a sucker or a new branch forming. I am fairly new with growing roses.
