IMHO plenty of animals eat whatever helps them live best/what they come by **(though we are going to ignore that animals go out *****, risk their lives and hunt their food, while I just sit infront of a TV against a sofa with my big belly full of corpses shhh)**. I'm still confused, why are we special? Why can't I keep following animals as my moral teachers while also making someone else breed and kill my prey after **artificially** inseminating its mother?? We have a plan to retrograde, if necessary. We have a plan to shift assets.” He declined to provide details, saying it would n... switching dog food, any recs?14m agoi'm currently feeding my dog open farm's good bowl salmon recipe and my 3 yo. loves it. it keeps his coat healthy and shiny. however, i'm looking for a cheaper option. currently, a 22lb/9.9 kg bag is $66 before tax, $70 with. as of right now, i'm considering NutriSource, wholesomes, taste of the wild and fromm. does anyone have any experience they can share feeding with any of these? or a food rec? 23M | Fulda / Frankfurt or anywhere ✨14m agoLife’s honestly more fun when you meet random people who turn into unforgettable memories 😄 Looking to meet open-minded people for spontaneous plans, random late-night drives, cooking together, cafés, movie nights, parties, travelling, exploring hidden places, deep conversations at 2am, and those “this wasn’t planned but ended up amazing” moments. Panko crumbed tofu using vegan mayo (recipe below)16m agoI made this the other night to have with veggies, from this recipe: https://plantbasedrdblog.com/2022/06/crispy-panko-tofu/ I pan fried instead of using the air fryer because I wanted that slightly oily, unhealthy, comfort food feeling 🫠 I also left out the thyme, because I didn't have any, and used so good unsweetened almond milk, as that's what I already had open. As you can see from the second photo, I was still craving comfort food when I reheated the leftovers the next day in the air fryer and whacked it on veggies cooked in golden curry sauce 😅 Now, I've never been someone who likes mayo (went vegan 30+ years ago so it's never been part of my life), but m... When Is It Time to Euthanize? :(19m agoI’ve been trying to treat this guy for 5 weeks now, I’ve had him 7 months. Looks like some type of really bad swim bladder. I’ve lowered the water done daily water changes for the last 3 weeks and increased the temp to 81. When I got him he had a similar issue and it took 3 weeks to beat it but now he’s refusing food… My last guy I had to use clove oil on too it was the same issue. I’m so sad I feel like the long finned bettas always end up with this issue. I also used bettafix alongside the water changes. There isn’t a ton of fin rippage though. I added a half dosage of aquarium salt because there are cherry barbs in this 15 gallon too. The poor guy just floats there every d... Almost 30 with no direction. Just needed to get my feelings out a bit I have two worthless degrees (AA and BA in Studio Art) and work experience in retail, manufacturing and photography but it seems to not be enough. I know the job market is bad for everyone rn but I don’t have much to offer regardless. I wish I started caring about my life before 23 and I wish I really considered if I wanted to be a full time artist; tbh I never thought I’d be an artist or anything. When i decided to go to college I was at a really low point in my life and just wanted to feel like I had some semblance of direction; my dad told me to follow my bliss and I unfortunately did. Now at 28 I’d rather have a... Switching off TLC at age 721m agoI have a 7 year old lab that has been on TLC dry food since she was a puppy, per her breeder. I didn’t really look into it over the years as they were a known breeder and their labs seemed to do well. I’ve now just randomly been looking into it and seeing the claims that it’s not so great. Her breeder has since closed down and her and her sister (my family’s dog) have no health issues outside of noting to have dying teeth that require surgical removal (sister’s vet said the dental issues were likely genetic). My lab is very active and has no issues with weight. She has no allergies. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for my lab based on this? Which Plant-Based Milk Actually Works Best in Coffee?22m agoMore and more people are trying to move away from dairy milks and opt for plant-based alternatives instead. But when it comes to coffee, it’s not always as easy as picking the first thing you see in the grocery store fridge. Some dairy-free milks are perfect for steaming for a latte or cappuccino. Some taste better in iced coffee/cold brew. Every plant-based milk has its own unique texture, sweetness, protein content, and acidity, and that can all affect how it behaves once you add it to your espresso. For example: **• Oat milk** is popular for its creamy texture and strong frothing ability **• Almond milk** works well in iced coffee but can separate in hot drinks **• Soy mil... Recipes? Progression pics from last few years.28m agoFor the past 7 years I have had my nutrition and training dialed in. 95% whole food based diet, training to failure, progressive overload, high protein diet, all the fun stuff. I just started peps 2 months ago. I’m interested in seeing what sort of results I can expect. My energy has gotten significantly better with Mots-C and 5amino. I am feeling the appetite suppression from Reta, which allows me to eat exactly what I need to for the day, nutrition has never been an issue but this is pretty cool. Cjc/IPA - too soon to tell, I expect visible results 6 months down the line, although sleep has improved. I’ve been on TRT for 2 years, which keeps me in a healthy range. I will say I have fel... DIY distillation/extraction29m agoI'm interested in making DIY distillations/extractions at home and wondering where to begin. My goal is to use raw plant materials to capture a specific scent (e.g. the Colorado piñon pine in my backyard, rather than a pre-made pine extraction). I'm pretty flexible on whatever form this might take - enfleurage, concentrate, EO, absolute, etc. I have access to raw materials, but not in bushells - just a pound or so for each batch. I know that this will limit my output, and that's ok. I figure I will decide what my final product will be based on format and yield of my extraction. If the best I can do is just a few ounces of hydrosol, that's better than nothing! I'... 23M | Fulda / Frankfurt or anywhere ✨30m agoLife’s honestly more fun when you meet random people who turn into unforgettable memories 😄 Looking to meet open-minded people for spontaneous plans, random late-night drives, cooking together, cafés, movie nights, parties, travelling, exploring hidden places, deep conversations at 2am, and those “this wasn’t planned but ended up amazing” moments. The Hydrological Stress and the Future of the Platte River Basin34m agoThe vast, braided channels of the Platte River are currently struggling against a convergence of environmental and industrial pressures that threaten the stability of the entire region. This crisis is rooted in a record-breaking period of warmth and a severe lack of precipitation; the winter leading into May 2026 was the warmest and driest in over 131 years, leaving the ground parched and the river without its essential spring snowmelt. This parched landscape was further devastated by a record-breaking fire season that destroyed essential pastureland and left behind a scarred terrain that struggles to absorb what little moisture remains. As surface water vanishes, the strain shifts undergrou... Great America opening day 202634m agoVisiting Great America on opening day in 2026 at Gurnee, Illinois—did not expect so many people to be here! Maybe the nice weather drew a huge crowd to the park. As we walk through, we’re seeing some of the classic attractions, carnival games, and a variety of restaurants. Most of the food stands and eateries are open, but be prepared to stand in some lines. The queues are especially long at Yukon BBQ Pit and Windy City Sport Bar & Grill. Exciting news though—new rides are coming!? One will be near the Go Karts, and the other will be right next to Big Easy Balloons. With spring in the air, the park is looking beautiful—tulips and spring plants are in full bloom, adding to the...
