Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Vegan Foods Latest Community Discussions About Vegan FoodsConfused lilacs in the desert7h agoAdding pictures of 3 different lilac plants we planted this year, looking for advice. The first one is the one I'm really confused about. I thought we were gonna lose the first two, and some plant food and egg shells seemed to improve them, from what I can tell. I'm very new to gardening and lilacs are my very favorite, so I would be very grateful for any feedback. Does anyone else know about the uGOgelato situation at Findlay Market?7h agoStumbled into uGOgelato on Elm St recently and I'm kind of mad nobody told me about this place sooner. The owner Maria placed top 3 at the North American Gelato Finals in LA over Labor Day weekend and is now a confirmed finalist at the World Finals in Italy this spring. Like an actual World Finals. From a walk-up spot at Findlay Market. The flavor that got her there is called Mandorland. Fully vegan, built on three types of Sicilian almonds with a blood orange swirl and dark chocolate flecks. I know that description sounds like a lot but it completely works. You can try it at the shop or order a pint online. Saturday at Findlay Market seems to be the move based on when they're b... ****'s Kitchen: Foreigners Only Episode 1: The New Beginning Part 17h ago# Chapter 1: The Tokyo Convergence At exactly 3:00 PM, the grand, high-ceilinged auditorium of the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre was packed to capacity. The air was thick with the hum of nervous energy and the low, rhythmic chatter of hundreds of hopefuls, culinary critics, and avid fans of the *Hell’s Kitchen* franchise. Among them were over a hundred chefs from every corner of the globe who had traveled to Japan, hoping to secure their place in the kitchen. The lights dimmed abruptly, cutting through the murmurs like a knife. A single, piercing spotlight swept across the stage before landing center. Head Chef Maggie Callahan strode onto the stage. Her presence was immediate and suffocati... Vegan options in or around Coors Field7h agoHi all, I lived in Denver 2018-2020 and will be back visiting this summer. Going to a Rockies game with a group of non vegans who are going to la diabla before but I don't see anything vegan on their menu. I am also not seeing any clear vegan options at Coors, and remember struggling with this when I went their years ago as well. You can bring in food, I know Marquis Pizza is close, but anything else near by? Can be to go or dine in. Thanks! How to keep it fun and casual: a guide for new players7h agoSomeone was requesting a new player’s guide for FoM, and I’ve been thinking of making a “New Player’s Guide to Keeping it Casual” post for awhile now. This is mostly for newer people or those who who don’t want a huge money farm and just want to enjoy the gameplay and story. I’ll mostly focus on year one, but here’s the formula I’ve found to making manageable progress without getting overwhelmed. I will also keep everything completely spoiler free. PLEASE be mindful of spoilers in your replies to this post, as I want this to be very new player friendly. *** Here’s some general pacing rules that I find keep the grind from getting overwhelming. I made a post a few months ... Don’t Forget to Hold Your Breath7h agoThe back of the bus always wafted with the vague scent of vomit. No matter how many times it was cleaned, the strange grey pleather was left alone in one row. No one wanted to sit where Janey Russel had thrown up at the beginning of the school year. I had to unstick my shoes from the floor to turn and face my friend. “Don’t forget to hold your breath when we pass by the cemetery.” I warned them. We had met for the first time a few weeks ago. The sun was starting to feel less blistering, and the air had grown a bit cooler. Most of the bus’ windows were down. The people inside enjoyed the breath of fresh air. Green leaves had traded themselves for shades of yellow and red. “Why?... Thruhiking trail nutrition/resupply tips?7h agoCurrently planning a thruhike of the CT and trying to decide how to go about getting a good balance of healthy, calorie dense meals from small resupply locations. I finally have gotten a dialed in backpacking food setup that meets my macro recommendations (based off [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Ultralight/comments/1sbqs32/a_relook_at_gearskeptics_food_recommendations/)), is reasonably healthy (plenty of fiber, not too much cholesterol), and has good caloric density. My current goto is this: **Breakfast:** * Muesli/Oatmeal with Nido whole milk powder, nuts, chia, hemp seed, and banana chips. **Lunch:** * Tuna (in olive oil) with mayo, cheese, and olives on a tortilla. * Peanut ... I'm a dog mom in North Georgia with two pups — Jennie (Pit/Lab mix rescue) and Baxley (mini dachshund). I started making homemade dog food after Jennie had some tummy issues and I was tired of guessing what was actually in her kibble. It's actually way easier than you'd think. I've got a slow-cooker recipe I do on Sundays — chicken, sweet potatoes, blueberries, a little turmeric for her joints. Jennie's coat looks incredible now and her energy is through the roof. Happy to share the full recipe if anyone wants it. No fancy ingredients — all stuff from regular grocery stores. Not lost in writing the side story this time, instead in working on a custom species (and planet and other life on that planet). Anybody on my section of the discord knows and I’m happy to talk about it more to get more opinions. And now we have the Gojid AAR now that the Concord are heading off. All kinds of fun things, honestly, a bit of a tech showcase. Specifically, the tech that the Gojid have partially figured out exists. Kinda a chance to see not only what they know, but what their tactical minds are able to determine based on their existing biases. We’ll also get to see as Cilany sets off on her next task. She’s got to get over two days of recording... How do I become a chef?8h agoWhenever I cook, people always compliment my food and call me a good cook. But honestly, the only thing I do is follow a specific recipe. That makes me feel like I’m not really a chef I just know how to follow instructions, and I don’t create anything on my own. So my question is: how do I actually become a cook/chef? Because I have a really strong passion for it, and I truly love cooking especially when you see the people you cooked for gathered around the table, all happy and praising your food. It might genuinely be one of the best feelings in my life. Don’t Forget to Hold Your Breath8h agoThe back of the bus always wafted with the vague scent of vomit. How to Visit Costa Rica Sustainably8h agohttps://preview.redd.it/g15iyaz53e2h1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0e4e75f1d4262493c9ad875cc9cfa64c98b4636 John Quam [Website Article](https://howlermag.com/how-to-visit-costa-rica-sustainably/) The difference often shows up at breakfast. In one hotel, the papaya was shipped in, the staff barely earn enough to stay nearby, and the “eco” label lives mostly on the brochure. In another, the fruit came from down the road, the guide leading your mangrove tour grew up in the village, and your stay helps keep a patch of forest standing. If you are wondering how to visit Costa Rica sustainably, that is the real question to keep in mind - not just where you go... Cole traping coyotes 32008h agoI am a new Green writer so please go easy if there is any obvious errors that you notice that may not be obvious to me. If you expect a spefic amout of quality to an absolute beginner then please just ignore the read. This chapter takes place on earth and this is coles final moments alive. The rest of my story so far takes place completely in the afterlife. Anyways feedback so far \- i tried adding paragraphs but i have no idea if done correctly. \- and I tired making it more obvious whose speaking. \- also removed spacing between each line. I want to get better. I went from not writing anything to writing a few chapters so please be patient with my low skill level in writing. Chapter... Lots of good sized, straight and sturdy branches. Heres my question: could I use these as garden stakes for some of my native saplings or food garden? Any concerns about impact on native plants or food? Could I process them in a way that would be useable? Am I overthinking this? Dinner ***** at my house and it makes me sad8h agoI don’t know if I’m just being dramatic or what but for context I’m a vegetarian, it’s not personal choice, i have a medical condition that makes it basically impossible for me to eat meat without getting sick. My whole life I’ve lived on carbs and junk food because my parents never cared to feed me anything but that. Now that I’m older (17) I’ve learned to cook for myself really good but it’s rare that i get to because it’s almost always out of my own pocket. As a broke high school student with no car and a ****** job, I don’t have the money to be grocery shopping every night to feed myself. And my mom usually can’t drive me to the store because she eats edibles and th...
