URGENT NY ALERT: Bill A9114 The Kratom Beverage Ban is moving fast.

1h ago

# New York Bill A9114 was officially referred to the Consumer Affairs Committee on January 7, 2026. This bill is a major concern because it aims to ban the sale and manufacture of all kratom-infused food and beverages starting January 1, 2027. While it is currently a "drink ban," it is a dangerous step in the wrong direction. It sets a legal precedent that makes it much easier for lawmakers to push for total prohibition later or other restrictive. This bill directly threatens our kava bars safe, alcohol free community spaces and would decimate small businesses and jobs across the state. # Why This is a Priority Concern: * **Targeted Prohibition:** The bill specifically bans any...

I am going to Tulsa for the first time coming from Florida, what is special that I should do?

1h ago

I am going to Tulsa for a very specific doctors appointment. Not going into the details 🤣 but just incase anyone is wondering why I chose Tulsa. Also I decided to tie it into the Robert Plant concert at the Tulsa Theatre! First of all, any advise about the theatre? Is it nice? (Anyone else going to the concert?) What coffee shops are nice? Any vegan restaurants (I am not vegan but I enjoy going to them since I was for years). Any farm to table restaurants? Any nice gardens? Any nice trails/hikes? Any amazing views? Anywhere to see animals?(not a zoo but like, donkeys in a field or something) Any good breweries? Any cool shops with local art? Anything super historic and interest...

Struggling with cost of food and saving.

1h ago

Curious what other people spend on their weekly food bill as a family of four? My two kids are only four and two years old and our food bill is already $250 per week (and that is including toilet paper, any kind of spray, cleaners, personal hygiene and household supplies, etc. ) and I’m struggling to get it cheaper while also still eating decently healthy. We are hovering around $1000-$1200 per month on groceries. Sometimes 1500$. Even when I shop exclusively at Lidl and Aldi, I can’t seem to get it cheaper… Any tips and tricks for saving a couple hundred dollars a month or cheap recipes that are your go tos? we already don’t eat very much meat and have swapped a lot of meat based m...

Feeding the same canned food recipe

1h ago

So I recently went through a food trial with my boy and found a canned food that he doesn't have issues with and im kind of worried to test the other reciepies of the same brand. I have yet to ask my vet if it's okay, but generally, does anyone keep their cat on the same food recipe?

Pieces on a Cosmic Chessboard: Contact Protocols of Rama and CSETI Briefly Compared J

1h ago

On another social media page dedicated to exploring Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) aka CE5, I was asked about the differences between the contact protocols of the Peruvian contact network, originally called “Mission Rama” and those of the Center for the Study of ET Intelligence CSETI. I was also asked whether one was “more effective than the other?” **Here is my reply in edited form:** The guided meditations with CSETI involved the following: watching one's breath, explanations concerning the nature of consciousness, combined with what the CSETI Director designated as “Coherent Thought Sequencing” (CTS). In its most advanced application, CTS is supposedly a remote v...

Memory function being a bit in your face

1h ago

Hi. Can you somehow reduce the "intensity" of which the memory function is made use of? One of my early requests was for a few lentil recipes and since then every time it's about food (or even if it isn't, but mistral makes it about it) it says "well.how about some lentils ??" For instance today I asked for a few prompts for journaling. Some suggestions were "[...] What did I eat today? (Especially: lentil dishes?😊) [...] 🌿 Lentil check (if applicable) - which lentil dishes did I try today and how did it taste? - new recipes I tried [...] Is that okay with you? I can add more specific prompts on nutrition (lentils!), sports, or creativity! ...

The Dine In Guest

1h ago

I work at a little pizza joint part time in nowhere, New Jersey. It’s your pretty average pizza joint if you’ve ever been in one. My daily routine consists of answering phone calls, cooking pizza and ringing up customers. Despite having about a half dozen tables, a booth and some counter top space with stools, most of our business consists of take out and delivery. I say most, because, as of late, we’ve had one consistent dine in customer. He’s a strange looking guy who really is beyond comparison. He’s kind of gangly with a huge distended belly. His hair is long and unkempt. He just kind of a greasy looking dude. He simultaneously looks old and young, with stretchy elastic loo...

A Peace Treaty for the Gender War (everyone gets what they want)

1h ago

The Civic Resilience Protocol: A Peace Treaty for the Gender War The Crisis: A Broken Social Market Modern society is trapped in a dangerous deadlock. We have successfully and rightfully liberated women from the oppressive structures of the past, granting them full autonomy over their lives and bodies. However, this necessary social progress has produced a volatile byproduct: a growing demographic of young men who are socially atomized, sexually frustrated, and increasingly radicalized. This "intimacy gap" is no longer just a personal grievance; it is a structural threat to the republic. The rise of the "Manosphere" and reactionary politics suggests that if we do not p...

Just got prescribed the Oral Wegovy

M/34/5'8 200 lbs. Ive been working out off and on for most of my life. What seems to happen is I gain muscle, then if I go through periods of not lifting it just turns to fat, then when I restart again no matter what I do, I just cant lose any weight. I add muscle again and weight goes up, I stop, then rinse and repeat. For example last year when I started working out again I was 195, when I fully ramped up my workout, this included summer days of walking in the morning, swimming at lunch, then lifting at night, my weight somehow went up to 207. I dialed back the workout intensity and now have been sitting at 200. And this has happened before, in HS I was 155, starting lifting, went ...

Walmart Plant Based Section

1h ago

Super frustrating to see animal based products in the walmart plant based section today. I wrote an email expressing concern for this kind of organizing, but something tells me it’s a marketing tactic. It’s was many different “ethically sourced” animal products mixed into the freezer isle- the very specific (already small) section for plant based foods. grrrr

Meat sauce canning

1h ago

Hey all, I’ve been lurking on this subreddit for a while and wanted to join to ask some questions. I started canning last year, and I’ve had a lot of fun with it. I’ve successfully done both water bath and pressure canning by this point. I have a tendency to do the same stuff over and over again because I make stuff I know I will eat. So I’ve made high acid marinara a bunch of times, and that was my first “rebel” canning because I did it with a recipe I made myself. It worked out great and is a favorite that I’ve made many times now. I also made applesauce (high acid) twice turned out good. Something that struck me was how long the high acid stuff lasts in the fridge, even afte...

What happens if I don't empty the water from the tray/cache pot?

1h ago

I have a drying/drain rack and normally I carry my plants 1 by 1 over to the sink and water them on the rack so they can drain then put them back. It usually takes several hours. I have about 50 plants. Right now I'm struggling to walk (knee degeneration and bulging discs) but my plants still have to be watered so what happens if I water them in their trays/cache pots but don't empty the water out? I know this isn't the best idea but I don't have any other options, I am in excruciating pain and I don't have anyone to help. Is this a recipe for root rot? Thanks

any recipies y'all make on low spoon days?

1h ago

tldr: hoping to cook 1-2x per week for 2 people and have few food sensitivities. slow cooker or "set & forget" recipes are highly welcome! what do you all cook? i'm in college and working part time so i often don't have a ton of spoons to do chores around the house on weekdays. thankfully, i have an amazing spouse who takes care of a lot of that for when i can't. i've also been finding new ways to allieviate burn out and overstimulation on weekdays. that said, i do want to cook more for me & my spouse. 1-2x per week and have leftovers for other days. i have very few food sensitivities and am open to trying new things! i was thinking maybe a slo...

I absolutely love cereal for breakfast with unsweetened almond milk, toast with plant butter, and fruit. Help me make my list of new ones to try! Thanks!
