Oh God just in time

5h ago

Me and my buddy have been playing for about a month in game and I've been more and more stressed about going across the map to Louisville and raiding it while the power and water are still on. We're in the town underneath Brandenburg. Go to Louisville. ****** nightmare.pick up a military truck on my way back. 15 cans of fuel all together with 10 Jerry cans weapons, food water. I get back to our base boom power's out just in time for me to start dropping stuff off at my door. Love the timing in this game so much. It's not even funny. Had just enough time to do that. Wheat Processing Plant

5h ago

Hi All, I have a second, technical interview coming up for a process engineering role at a wheat processing plant that mainly produces bio-ethanol but also starches and sweeteners. It's been a few years since I've been in process engineering so I'm a little rusty to say the least. Does anyone know what type of questions I should expect, they have made no mention of it being STAR based, so It could be more focused on what they actually do rather than me. If anyone could explain the main concerns with operations in such plant, the main safety concerns etc. with an insight on what questions they could ask to gauge how well I could perform in such an environment I would be v...

36 [M4F] #Canada stuck at the hospital and looking for a great conversation

5h ago

Helloooo. Thank you for checking out my post. As the title states, I am stuck at the hospital and I am hoping to find someone to chat with and get to know/a friendly conversation. I love getting to know someone and hear about their day so if you enjoy questions and someone who loves to listen, I think we will get along quite well! I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it's a hike, a walk, or checking out outdoor events, trying new food and recipes, new restaurants, going for a run/working out, reading, sports (lol), travel, and a bit of video games like Mario party lol that's my extent of video games. I love getting to know people as well. I think a good connection is really s...

Best cheap, low effort live food? Is it possible to establish a colony in my tank?

5h ago

Hi everyone. I’m currently cycling my first tank, and I’m hoping to house schools of julii corydoras and celestial pearl danios, along with some neocaridinas (20 gallon long). It will be heavily planted, 74-76 degrees, slightly acidic and pretty hard water. I want to have a supply of live foods for my CPDs if possible. I don’t have a huge fish room, so I don’t want a massive dedicated setup. Should I establish a colony of daphnia (or similar) in my tank before adding fish? Surely the fish will eventually decimate the population and I’ll be back to square one. What do you recommend for consistent live food for one community tank?

Tell me your favorite, authentic food - from where you were born, or where you’ve been, or where you are presently liv...

Feel free to share the name, or a picture, or a story about the food. And honestly, if you want to and are able to share the recipe - please do! I’ll start. My personal favorite food at present is Khoresh fesenjan. It’s a Persian dish that is made for Yalda night - aka, winter solstice, the longest night of the year. It’s a really comforting winter stew, and part of a great tradition more broadly around Yalda - everyone is supposed to stay up until dawn as much as possible, with candles lit, Yalda specific foods eaten, and company enjoyed - poetry read (Hafiz) with an element of divination to it too. The broader idea for Yalda is that - on this the darkest night of the year - the f...

Should I worry more or less than I already am?

5h ago

Hello reddit! Looking for advice. I have two tuxedo boys, brothers aged between 8-9 and over the last few days they've both been throwing up at least once or twice a day. They're indoor fellas, no diet changes recently and I'm careful to not leave any poisonous plants in any rooms they have access to. They've been on Purina+ indoor kibble for about a month now and they each get a half can of whiskas wet food Monday mornings. I know it's not an ideal diet but I'm going through a particularly rough patch financially and while I've had to make a few sacrifices and changes, they're still eating better than me. My boys always come first-- I'm sure ple...

TRUBAR are NOT Celiac safe despite GF labeling

Found in tiny text on the product wrapper that says these are manufactured in a facility with wheat, peanuts, milk, soy, fish, sesame, and other tree nuts. Very disappointed since these were so tasty.

Baking cupcakes for baby shower

5h ago

I came to this reddit in November looking for advice about making a cake in stages and it was so helpful! Made two delicious cakes for her birthday weekend. This time my MIL has asked me to make [two different kinds of cupcakes](https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/orange-cardamom-cupcakes-with-vanilla-frosting-109555) (https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/cinnamon-scented-devils-food-cupcakes-109594) for my SIL's baby shower at the end of the month. From the pros, whats your advice for baking cupcakes and storing them? Planning to make both batches next weekend (2/7) and party is on 2/21. States using nonprofits as a proxy for access into people’s homes to intimidate those they consider part of their comm...

5h ago

What I am referring to is people who say something controversial or leave religion being targeted by a state sponsored human trafficking ring with cameras in their homes for streaming on dark web. the scenario you’re asking about (a nonprofit installing devices inside homes as a proxy for state surveillance) sits right on the line where real, documented abuses exist, but specific mechanisms are often misunderstood or exaggerated online. Bottom line up front • There are NO publicly verified cases of a country using a nonprofit that installs fire alarms (or similar home-safety equipment) to secretly install covert cameras inside private homes for dissident surveillance. • There AR...

Is there any hope for helping my nephew? Is there a chance he can grow out of this?

5h ago

This story might contain a lot of background, but I will try my best to keep things concise. My (34M) nephew (20M), whom I will call Judd, had his birthday a few days ago, and I feel like I am further from him than I ever have. For context, I helped raise him. My sister, whom we will call Patrice, had him, and the bio dad wasn't in the picture, so she convinced her husband, whom we will call Rob, to be on the birth certificate. They were in an open relationship at the time, and Rob and Patrice had started living separately. When Patrice was getting laid, and Rob wasn't, he tried to close the relationship, and Patrice said no. They were thinking about getting a divorce. Patrice eve...

Crohn’s, surgery, Short Bowel, and no longer able to work - really struggling and need advice

6h ago

Hi everyone, I’m 33, based in the UK, and I’m really struggling right now. I’m hoping for advice or shared experiences from people who understand how brutal Crohn’s can be. Over the past few months my health has deteriorated significantly. I’ve had bowel surgery and now live with Short Bowel Syndrome alongside Crohn’s, which has completely changed what my body can cope with. My symptoms fluctuate day to day, sometimes hour to hour, and even short trips out of the house leave me exhausted and unwell. At this point, I cannot return to work - not full-time, not part-time. Even an hour out for a coffee recently wiped me out. I'm also pretty much glued to the bathroom! I’ve ...

Clint spoke today!

6h ago

So I work with an autistic guy named Clint slinging boxes at a store. I've worked here a year, and in that entire time, I have only ever heard Clint say "ok." If you ask him how his day is, "ok." If you ask him if he wants a water "ok." Hey Clint, wanna stay over today? "Ok." I began to affectionately think of him as the store's Hodor. That changed today. I was trying and struggling to take a large fake plant out of the box it had arrived in. Clint shuffled over and helped me pull it out. As I was pulling the Styrofoam off the base, Clint suddenly said "I'm afraid this is gonna poke me in the eye." And then he turned and shuf...

Pancake recipe

6h ago

I know this won’t be for everyone because it has eggs and dairy and oats, but this has been my go to recipe for years now. I prefer this over almost every gluten-free sandwich bread, it’s not crumbly, it has a better taste than most rice flour based bread, and it is very high in protein. Ingredients: one cup gf oats, one cup cottage cheese, four eggs, 1 tablespoon sugar. (I generally use less if I’m planning on using them as sandwich bread), 2 teaspoons baking powder. You can easily multiply this, I usually make this recipe times 4 for leftovers. Process the oats in a food processor to get oat flour, add cottage cheese, eggs, and sugar and process until smooth. You can pause the re...

38-M-USA | Dad gamer looking for....more players!

6h ago

Hey there. I'm on here trying to find friends, just like the rest of us. It's a very sad part of life that the older we become, the harder it is(for me at least) to make meaningful connections. I've "lost" that feeling of having a group of buddies I can hop on and game with over the years. Becoming a parent, working full time, and just trying to navigate the day to day life has taken my gaming time(and prime) away from me; and I'm just trying to reconnect that part of my life. I work a pretty normal schedule but my playtime varies. I'd say on weekends(Sat/Sun) I'm free until about 9-10pm. Other days of the week I'm free from midnight to about 3-5...

Looking for volunteer writers interested in culture, food history, or storytelling (student-led project)

6h ago

Hi! We’re a small, student-led research and creative collective working on a cultural documentation project focused on **Sanikulas**, a traditional Kapampangan bread with roots in history, faith, and local practice. We’re currently looking for **volunteer writers** who enjoy storytelling, cultural research, or writing short narrative pieces. This isn’t academic-heavy writing—more like clear, engaging stories that connect history, people, and food. **What you’d be doing:** * Helping write or refine short narrative sections (history, oral stories, cultural context) * Translating research and interviews into readable, engaging text * Collaborating with designers and researchers (ve...

Weird looking white stuff in aloe soil

6h ago

I've been taking care of this lil baby aloe since I missed my old one that sadly passed. I really want him to grow big and strong! When we were looking for potting soil this is all they had (pic attached) and the employee said it should work fine for an aloe. I recently bought actual potting soil. My mother put the egg shells in there. I also put in some fertilizer. He's watered daily but I realized that's not the best case. Do I need to repot him? I bought a new pot if so. He's an indoor aloe since it's very cold and snowy outside. He stays in the sunroom/mudroom since there's lots of windows for sunlight.
