Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Vegan Foods Latest Community Discussions About Vegan FoodsAdvice on my plan for recent tests2h agoLooking for some advice on anything else I should ask my doctors about my recent lab tests. I have cholesterol checked every year and this is the first year ever my LDL is over 100. The only thing that changed with me is age. I’m almost 60. I do have family history of high cholesterol. I’m not overweight, and not a work out fan but I do walk 30 minutes nearly every day. I eat a mostly plant based diet, only eat red meet once or twice a year. I generally don’t eat out and don’t eat fried foods. Monitoring saturated fats, I’ve found that cheese and chocolate are my 2 biggest current contributors. \-Total cholesterol: 167 (was 154 last year) \-Triglycerides: 65 (was 66 last year... What are some hidden gems in the Bible that you think get overlooked, not talked about enough, or misunderstood?2h agoFor example yesterday I was thinking about Leviticus 19:23-25. "When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised. Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you. It shall not be eaten. But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a praise to the LORD. And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, that it may yield to you its increase: I am the LORD your God." I was aware of this law for a long time and I never thought much about it. I never thought to consider the purpose of this law. I guess I just assumed it was a demonstration of faith in God that God later rewards by increasing your yield. Bu... Darkest Dungeon 2 First Impressions2h agoBefore criticizing the game, I want to glaze both a bit, DD1 is one of my favorite games, probably my favorite turn-based game of all time; and DD2, despite still being on Act 3 and "only" 40 hours in yet, it's already too a game that Im enjoying a lot. I've been playing A LOT all the time and looking forward to playing when Im not, thinking about it, watching videos, etc. Now onto the problems; Combat My honest feelings and thoughts when I look at DD2's balancing is: "****, the developers REALLY were afraid of the players weren't they?". To begin, the Healing and Stunning have been heavily nerfed. Healing is now extremely bureaucratic, you can now o... What Extinction Difficulty Actually Taught Me (Zero to Hero Run)2h agoI've been running Extinction difficulty with a 0 Fitness, 0 Strength, Slow Metabolism character. Yeah, the "zero to hero" build. **1 month and 13 days in. 515 kills. Most of them stomped to death with my foot.** Not much, but trust me, it was ****. They just don't stop coming. They appear out of nowhere, there's always more, and every single day is a fight for your life. Here's everything I've learned the hard way so you don't have to. Going from Apocalypse/Outbreak to Extinction **changes everything**. The way you manage food, your trips outside, your endurance, your rest cycles. Sprinters alone completely reshape the game. Being outside is no longe... Pineapple tart w/ toasted coconut crust2h agoHey!! I am searching for the steps in a recipe. I made it twice, but the baker took down her website and I cannot find any evidence of the recipe besides a screenshot I have. The screenshot has the ingredients and only the first 3 steps of the recipe. The advice I need is related to the pineapple curd. Should I follow another citrus-based curd recipe to finish the tart? Or by some miracle, does anyone have this recipe saved somehow!? Thanks!! The baker: “Season of Baking” Elizabeth Hayne Instagram account hasn’t been active since 2020 Pictures include the screenshot, and the photo of the tart from the bakers Instagram Your lifestyle works hard. I want to begin by acknowledging that this is a difficult message to write, and I am truly sorry to come to you with such a request—especially knowing that I’ve asked for help before. Please know that I would not reach out in this way unless I genuinely had no other options. To provide full transparency, I’ve included a detailed timeline of everything that has occurred: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dLVNcdkbwVSqYKdxEjjm8FOPHbr3bxrd2RU6hm9YzKM/edit?usp=sharing Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with a severe, life-threatening case of E. coli. The illness left me unable to walk or eat properly for nearly a mont... I cannot enjoy HALF of the game, We’re shooting ourselves in the foot: Why Marathon is pushing "Normal" play...2h ago[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2GSBHMtouw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2GSBHMtouw) I’ve been enjoying Marathon, but I’m starting to feel like if you aren’t an 8 hour aday "hardcore" player, this game just isn't for you. I’m a casual/normal player, and right now, it feels like most of the actual content is locked behind a wall I can't climb. The "Why Bother" Factor What is the point of even loading up for Cryo Archive? I know I’m most likely not going to survive. even outpost with the limited extract points... Better Than: Chapters 16-182h agoChapter 16 Sunlight slipped through the half-open blinds, painting soft gold stripes across the sheets. Johnny woke first, facing the window, the warmth on his face pulling him gently from sleep. For a moment he lay still, half-convinced the night before had been a dream too perfect to last. Then he rolled over. There she was—curled on her side, lashes dark against her cheeks, lips slightly parted in sleep. A slow, helpless smile spread across his face. She looked peaceful, unguarded, impossibly beautiful in the quiet morning light. He reached out, tracing the curve of her shoulder with the lightest touch, as if she might vanish if he pressed too hard. She stirred, eyes fluttering open... Do you feel bad for your pigs and deer?2h ago I'll preface this by saying I'm not a vegan trying to start an IRL animals' rights debate here. This is strictly about the virtual, in-game experience. Call me a hypocrite... I just want to vent. We raise chickens to sell eggs; cows and goats, for their milk; sheep and alpacas, for the wool. But those poor pigs becoming bacon and the deer, pelts, make me sad. To be honest, mostly the pigs/bacon combo. Perhaps if the food trucks also sold chicken wings/nuggets, beef steaks/hot dogs, and roasted goat or something, it would even out the field. I don't know... I just feel bad about those happy looking, googly-eyed, pink piglets. Check out my self-consciou... M27 U.S. • are you my future friend? ✨2h agoGreetings! I’m a 27-year-old guy based in the U.S. I work in a shop that sells books and records, which means I spend a lot of time alphabetizing things and having strong opinions about album covers. When I’m not there, I like making stuff with my hand. I enjoy making poor paintings, writing short poems that mostly stay in notebooks on my shelf, knitting uneven scarves and trying to keep plants alive in my garden (mixed results). I’m into wandering conversations and finding small joys where you don’t expect them, meaning you don’t have to share any of my interests. I expect nothing at all of you except that you put some effort into introductions and conversations, and that you are... 30 M - looking for cool people and interesting stories!2h agoHey what’s up? Hope you had a very nice weekend! I’m Looking for cool people to hopefully become friends with! I’m a very laid back guy so enjoys meeting people from all over the world, talking about life and having a good time. I’m very open minded and always up for a good conversation, whether deep and meaningful, or just random fun stuff. Let’s see if we vibe. Some things about me: Im very much into sports (basketball since I’m tall myself and gym) I love cooking! Always down to share some recipes and food pics lol. Whenever I can I try to travel to different places and hoping to see the world and my next big trip is (back) to Japan lol Mental health is very important I d... What would you describe this problem as?2h agoJust to make this digestible I'll summarise: After approximately my mid to late twenties I went through some quite concerning changes, some gradual but some sudden, and I'll break these down into two sections (emotional vs attitudinal): Emotional: * **I turned practically asexual after years of being the opposite**: I feel no sexual attraction to anybody (ever) - it was sad because this actually happened mid-relationship and I had to pretend it wasn't happening and use viagra (and even other things) to perform with my girlfriend. I now view talking to the opposite sex (well, most people) like running an NPC dialogue box/unskippable cutscene in a video game or something. I u... Conveniently sourced solid fuels on Pelagos for power production2h agoIt turns out Pelagos runs its entire burner economy on liquid fuels. The only time I need solid fuels outside the initial stone furnaces is for efficiently powering labs (Any Planet Start). After moving my labs to free up space elsewhere, I suddenly found myself lacking an automated source of burnables. Which is quite paradoxic as Pelagos is all about not using electricity and relying on (liquid-based) burner hardware everywhere. I completely forgot that I would still need a solid fuel supply at the new location. I had to either set up a local production, or get resourceful by siphoning some from logistically feasible nearby sources. Luckily the local copper spitter egg processing plant was... SWO6 OP-ED: Attacking desalination plants is a war crime. Admirals and Commanding Officers, if asked to do so, you must ...2h agoI’m marking this post as political because, of course. But this is not a screed about my personal feelings towards President Trump. I only wish to address his post this morning where he made the insinuation that desalination plants would “possibly” be “touched” in “retribution”. Maybe he’s serious, maybe he’s not, but let’s have a discussion about the implications of such an action. I get quite a few PMs from people asking if a particular action is lawful or not. It’s definitely on the minds of quite a few people. I’ve tried to answer as directly as possible. Here are a few: \-“If you were CO of a ship and SECDEF ordered you to escort a tanker through the Strait... Affordable restaurants with solid vegetarian/seafood options?2h agoLooking to discover more food options in Toronto and find places to eat with friends! I am pescetarian so I am looking for restaurants that have a good selection of vegetarian or seafood options. I find that when I search for vegetarian food in Toronto the options I get shown are typically vegetarian/vegan restaurants which is great and all but I'm sure there are lot of places that do serve meat but also have excellent vegetarian stuff and I don't want to miss those. I'm on a bit of a budget so I would prefer to check out places that come out to $20-30 per person! Mains in the $15-25 range are preferred. I do also prefer international foods over standard western fare but I... Just shipped LettuceSave to both app stores after a few months of nights and weekends work. **The problem I was solving:** I kept buying groceries, forgetting about them, and finding them expired a week later. Turns out 40% of food in the US ends up in landfills, costing the average household \~$2,000+/year. **What it does:** * Scan your fridge/pantry/receipts with AI (Gemini Vision) - items identified instantly * Tracks expiration dates and ranks what needs to be used first * Generates recipes from what's about to expire * Budget meal planner that uses what you already own * Personal cookbook for saving recipes * Custom recipe creation from your sto... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
