growing a beard

13h ago

So i’m kinda on the luckier side w my genes and being able to grow facial hair, only thing is what i do grow is pretty patchy in some spots. Looking for some recs (other than minoxidil) to help. I have a pet at home so id rather try other ways since i just don’t wanna take any chances. I’ve seen on tiktok some people post like a whole routine of products they use but i’m just looking for some advise on some brands yall recommend of beard oils, washes, etc that smell good and do effectively help w hair growth. (also to Add i’ve already been taking T for almost a year now)

Help!!

14h ago

So my mum has just bought this Syrian hamster, unfortunately, from Pets at Home. She’s given it the incorrect accommodation altogether, even after all the advice I had given her. The excuse I got was that it’s only a small thing it doesn’t need a large enclosure or loads of stuff. The cage she’s given is similar to the picture provided. It’s got that hammy hamster food which I’m sure isn’t the best for him. And also, she hasn’t really given it anything for enrichment besides a large chew carrot thing, so I’ve given loads of my rats' stuff away (UNUSED!!) so it can have at least a few more things. She’s given him like 2 inches maybe a tad more of bedding which is wood...

Is this cage suitable?

20h ago

Hi all, I made a post about my hamster Ziggy and his cage which I am upgrading. I have searched all morning for a good sized cage that meets the requirements. The biggest cage I could find in my area is this one attached. Is this a suitable cage? The numbers are off from the requirements but it is much bigger than his current home, which is plastic home 1 from pets at home. Thanks in advance!

Postmarketos loyalty card app

21h ago

UK based, all our loyalty cards are barcodes, mainlining Linux on the op6t and wanted to keep my nectar card and pets at home on my phone so... Here it is: https://github.com/stevenleadbeater/loyalty-card-app Mobile labelled so sits on the posh launcher, 1 click to open a card once the app is open, can scan a code from an image or enter manually. It has camera support but I've not tested it 😬

Cage appropriate for my hamster ?

1d ago

Hi all. I’ve had plastic home 1, from pets at home, for my dwarf hamster Ziggy, who came home in May last year. His bedding is always very high, I scatter feed him and he has 3 hides, one of which he sleeps in 99% of the time. Ziggy is very relaxed - I get him out every evening around 8pm. He lays flat on the arm of my sofa or alternatively sleeps inside my hoodie pocket. As I put him in his cage, he chills for a bit longer, then becomes active. I’ve never seen him bar biting. He frequently uses his wheel (at night), runs to a different part of the cage and then runs back. Like a loop. I heard that’s a sign of stress. I clean his cage every weekend and do try to switch up h...

Pancreatitis

2d ago

My boy has been diagnosed with pancreatitis today. I’m beyond worried and heart broken. Can this be reversed? How can I help him? I had a $800.00 day at the vet and I don’t know much besides that horrible pancreatitis. I need to know what people do for their pets at home. ),:

suggestions for a litter scoop that has gaps bigger than a regular scoop but smaller than a scoop for pine pellets?

2d ago

hi all! i’m looking for some advice on a litter scoop that will accommodate a specific type of litter i’ve recently switched to. i use clumping litter, but had to switch from catsan natural and pets at home (uk) clumping wood granules because my newest cat has gotten into the habit of sticking her face in the litter and getting the dust in her eyes when she’s digging before a poop. we are transitioning to “cats best” wood granules but the granules are too big and don’t fall through the scoop when sifting. any scoops with bigger holes are too big and when we scoop for pee little clumps are falling back into the box and it’s impossible to get them, which worries me that conti...

First Impressions from the Meeting

2d ago

Will post bigger thread at some point. Main Takeaway = There was a ton of good content that they need to get better at releasing! Jim is passionate and determined. Fantastic to finally get to meet Jim! Passion is evident and he is enthused to get it done. Was impressed by Denham Eke. His team from Burnbrae is 100% behind him and comes across as genuine and professional. Philip Boigner is the CEO confirmed. He was on video conference from Dubai where he is directly working on deals. Highlights \> All proposals at meeting including Jims appointment voted in by super majority. \> I got to 'second' the proposal to re elect Richard Reed (Innocent drinks etc...) whi...

2768 not 2744

This is the only thing I had lying around but if you go to town you see the wrong information in several places. I posit the theory that it would benefit the town to make corrections and avoid confusion. Is there a benefit to the town to posting wrong incorrect information? All of us Incline Pals want to see the correct numbers when we pass signage. Being an Incline Pal is easy just do the right thing! Pick up at least one piece of litter when you visit, that’s it ! That picture is AI I have never personally summited the #2768steps because I am waiting on my wife’s knee surgery so that we can conquer the beast together, hand in hand. Be a good human today Say one thing nice to...

Valentine’s Day Is Becoming a Real Retail Moment for Pet Brands

3d ago

Valentine’s Day is no longer just about flowers and chocolate. It’s increasingly becoming a measurable commercial opportunity for pet brands. According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), US Valentine’s spending is expected to reach record levels this year, and pets consistently represent a portion of that total with Americans spending billions annually on gifts for their animals. While still smaller than Christmas for the pet sector, Valentine’s is evolving into a recurring retail moment with measurable impact. A few interesting shifts: **Search intent is strengthening** Google Trends shows global search interest for “dog Valentine’s Day” has steadily increased ov...

Relocating to Germany

4d ago

******UPDATE 2/13/2026****** WE HAVE FOUND A HOME FOR ZOEY. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP, IDEAS, KIND WORDS. Anyone that was unhelpful thanks for the engagement it helped boost this post. Hello, My wife's job has given her her orders that are relocating us to Germany. And unfortunately we can't bring our dog Zoe with us because she has Pitbull mixed with lab. She's chill, shy, good with kids but not really good with small dogs. Dogs. She likes to chase planes and birds and eat snacks off the floor. She is on prescription dog food for her kidneys but she's a great dog. We've been struggling to find anybody to adopt her or any place that will take her. We leave in a m...

Success story - bulging membrane, cervical dilation, no cerclage

4d ago

During a night feed, I read a similar story and decided to post mine. Im 35F FTM, based in Western Europe. Due my insistence for a Myoma check up, my midwife referred me to a gynecologis. During this checkup, my gynecologist notice that baby’s feet were going in and out of my cervix. Basically she concluded that at 23+5 weeks, I had a footling breech and I was 3cm dilated. Both me and my husband were told how dire this this and I was immediately admitted to the Obstretic High Care of the hospital for further examinations. During this we were informed that I would definitely delive, given my condition - within 48 hours to 2 weeks time. Since I was 2 weeks away from viability of the countr...

Poultry-free wet cat food

4d ago

After weeks of yellow, mucus-y, and sometimes ****** diarrhoea, deworming and faecal testing, we've concluded that my cat (9 months) is allergic to chicken specifically and possibly all poultry. He's been eating Seriously Good Wet Kitten Food Tuna Loin Flakes and venison mince from M&S and has greatly improved, but has decided he doesn't like the tuna flakes anymore. We're at a complete loss as most wet food has 'animal derivatives' or chicken mixed in it even if it's labelled has 'fish'. Can anyone recommend a complete wet food? Better yet one I can order from Pets at Home or Amazon. Thanks!!

My fish - their origin story

4d ago

They haven't had a usual journey and wanted to give you their story. I've tried to keep it short These are my boys (?), Bert and Ernie, and they've earned their spot in my home office. I'm a gardener, with an outdoor pond hoping to add some life to the garden. Over two months, I stocked it with 8 goldfish. Things started well, but then they didn't. One developed a wound and died. Another bloated despite treatment. Then I found a third floating. I was testing water parameters constantly, medicating, stressing – nothing seemed to help. The pond looked empty, so I checked our wildlife camera (we love watching birds bathe and visiting creatures). What I found made my s...

Molly all alone after his friends died

4d ago

Hello, I feel awful for my remaining molly. He had three tank mates, who have now died (first seemed neurological \[I euthanised after three weeks of treatment and no improvement\], second was bullied/was limping around being beaten \[again, euthanised after weeks of no improvement\] and the third I found dead this morning). After the second fish died a couple of weeks ago I performed a large water change (50%) and used tap safe also claiming to improve water quality and remove ammonia. I think it shocked the one that’s just died as it was very sudden with no sign of illness. Now the remaining molly is pacing around having lost his last buddy. I’ve tested the water this morning and par...

\*ADDED INFO!:" 29F I am NOT the farthest away and, though I have a small apartment, it's not the smallest in the group (everyone can sit), it's not in the worst area, and all of my friends have pets, including dogs. One of them IS allergic to dogs, however, she has no problem with the other friend's dog despite her allergies. Also, a separate friend to the group was uninvited to game nights because of a cat allergy so bad she could literally die (no dog allergy) and my friends were unwilling to change locations to one without a cat in order to let her come.\* Me and my friend group have had weekly game nights every Wednesday for about the last 2 years. I moved to the ...
