Account locked to another region

11d ago

Recently I bought a game via Xbox.com on the Iceland store and ever since my rewards seem to be “locked” into believing I am earning points there. Everything looks UK except the extra points outside daily set of 3, my points balance is wrong (adjusted for there it seems) and redeem options are severely limited (no gift cards for example). I’ve raised with support twice and got generic nonsense suggestions and I’ve checked location settings everywhere I can. I’ve also bought stuff on the UK store a few times hoping that would fix it but to no avail. Has anybody experienced this and know a trick to sort it?

Planning Approved For New Food Warehouse

13d ago

**Planning permission has been granted this afternoon for a new Food Warehouse supermarket at Coleraine’s Riverside Regional Centre.** Speaking on behalf of the applicant and the prospective tenant, Eamonn Loughrey said: > Mr Loughrey emphasised that the existing Iceland store on Railway Road will continue to trade, serving its established customer base. “There is no intention to close or alter the trading of that store,” he said, noting that a legal agreement ensures the town centre branch will remain open for at least five years after the new outlet begins trading. He also highlighted the economic benefits of the development, which represents a £1.5 million investment in ...

icelandic store for istex lopi yarn shopping and other strategies

73d ago

I am buying yarn carefully now thanks to higher prices due to the idiocy of tariffs . I purchase accessory quantities locally to support my LYS ( not lopi, other yarns ) but for a sweater quantity I ordered from the Icelandic Store. I love knitting sweaters with Lette Lopi (unpopular opinion sometimes,I know ) Even with shipping to the US it’s very affordable. Are you yarn buying more strategically now? I am worried about all of the small yarn industry businesses! If i had more yarn budget I would only shop local or direct from yarns events.

Kökugerð Rúgbrauð: where?

77d ago

I discovered Kökugerð Rúgbrauð last summer while visiting Iceland for the first time. I love it and have become addicted to it. But I do not remember where I found it. Bónus? Krónan? Elsewhere? If anyone knows where it is sold in Iceland, **please** let me know. (The Icelandic Store sells it for shipment, which I have been doing for the past 10+ months.) Takk fyri!

My Iceland store manager did a hit and run on my first day

81d ago

Just want to describe my nightmare job at Iceland. I joined Iceland as a van driver at a store that was heavily understaffed. When my store manager signed me up, he didn’t even give me enough time to get familiar with the van and said let’s go and showed me the typical route since it’s usually the same customers. He drove the first half of the shift and I drove the second half, my first time ever driving a van. But maybe an hour into him driving, he reversed into a parked car very badly. The alarm didn’t go off but the car was badly dented on the front. So we got out. He looked around to see if there were any witnesses and just got back in the van, started the engine, asked me to ge...

Trying to find a Nothing store but ending up in a glacier with polar bears 🐻‍❄️📍

124d ago

So I was browsing **Nothing’s store locations** today because I wanted to know where to go touch those phone 3 💸💸💸💸💸. 🔍 On their **global website** (https://nothing.tech/pages/store-locator): ✅ Only UK stores listed. Minimal. Clean. Stylish. But then I checked their **Indian website** (https://in.nothing.tech/pages/store-locator): ⚠️ **Boom – there’s suddenly a store in ICELAND.** Wait what? An Iceland store listed on the **India website**, but **no UK store listed here**? I’m pretty sure that store is somewhere in the middle of snow, with polar bears unboxing Phones (3). ⚠️ **Also, I highly doubt the accuracy of even the available store loca...

My Icelandic Dune sweater

151d ago

My Icelandic-style Dune Sweater: 7 major factions, 10 days of quarantine, and 30 days to knit. I designed and knit this lopapeysa-style sweater as a tribute to Dune: Part Two, powered by a last-minute Iceland trip and a well-timed bout of Covid. Inspiration and Theme: I was inspired to knit a lopapeysa after my first visit to Iceland. I had meant to buy a hand knit sweater there but struck out finding one I liked (largely because I didn’t get a chance to visit the awesome ‘Hand Knitting Association of Iceland’ store in Reyk). I always planned to knit one ‘someday’ and then return to Iceland, but then my friends hit me up for a relatively impromptu trip to Iceland. My only though...

Mortgage declined due to suitability

175d ago

Hi everyone, can someone please advise me on what to do. Basically am a single mum with 1 dependant child, earn about 31k before tax. I've been living in an apartment from a housing association for almost 15 years. I've literally just been promoted on my job and decided to buy the flat to secure a future for my daughter. Paid a mortgage advisor non refundable fees of £495. Today I got the unfortunate news of mortgage been declined due to suitability from 3 high street lenders as flat is on top of Iceland store. I am disappointed with that news as this is literally all what I can afford. 80k for flat then Right to acquire discount applied of 9k and deposit 10k, I only needed 61k...

Anyone know why thus happens?

178d ago

I live near an Iceland store and sometimes go in for the odd thing and every time I try to go in the barrier locks on me and staff have to come and open it. It means anyone else also coming in also can't. I assume this is a shop lifting deterrent or something? But I've never shop lifted, i am not a regular customer at this specific store..... but every time...... does anyone know why? At first I thought it was accidental 2nd time maybe a jamming security barrier but it's happenned twice more.

Split order issues (iceland - store not country)

217d ago

Unsure if this is a recent thing because I generally avoid picking up orders from iceland because the store near me is a pain to park in but I've come across a recurring issue when i've attempted pick up A 'large order' (though never particularly large) is split between two couriers. fine. The first courier arrives, the staff point them to the order, the courier picks up the whole thing. presumably they're not paying attention and nobody is making sure the order is being split when it's put out. The second courier arrives, the staff say there is no order, they realise it's an order that's been taken, so courier has to cancel the order. I sp...

Sent a package but didn't get charged VAT?

344d ago

I recently mailed a package to someone in Iceland directly from the store website (not an Icelandic store). When I checked out it did not charge VAT. I looked under info on the site and it listed countries they were required to collect VAT from and Iceland wasn't listed. Is the person I sent the package to going to have to pay VAT on their end?
