I basically started last week as a sandwich maker. It’s been pretty crazy due to the last sandwich maker quitting on spot.. so they needed to train me up pretty quickly to get prepared. Of course, that comes with its disadvantages, such as other staff getting annoyed at me for certain things. For example, I only learned how to bake the baguettes today, but because it was two of us in the shop opening, the other person was upset that I didn’t layout their breakfast items for them to make after my baguettes. I’m F23 and have been working at my current place for about a year and a half now. I am a graduate trainee so carry out work placements throughout the course. I’ve just moved up north and discovered Greggs outlets. Insane. Who else is hooked and gets all their bread, breakfast and treats from there?? So cheap and the quality is not that bad at all loads of it is freezable too. I get a hot breakfast baguette for £1.80 every day before work. Hooked

I mean, I like a bit of sauce on my sausage sandwich or whatever, but you absolutely drown it. This is also why I don’t go to Greggs for breakfast; the staff seem to think I want margarine and sauce with a side of bread and meat. NO.

What's your favourite pop out at lunchtime shop? Used to be Pret for a sandwich and Paperchase for some lovely stationery treats but only got a Greggs near me now. I do love their breakfast baps and hot drink offers in Winter though. Anyway got me thinking - what is the best place to work near?

Email from Greggs asking if the Vegan Breakfast Sausage Roll had been discontinued. Anyone got a got a suggestion for an alternative place to go for an quick take away breakfast?

I've just been told by Greggs that they are discontinuing the vegan breakfast rolls.

I’ve definitely found myself planning a journey around a Greggs before, sometimes it’s just too tempting to pass up a sausage roll, a steak bake, or one of their breakfast deals. There’s something about knowing you can grab a warm pastry mid-drive that makes even the longest commute feel a bit more bearable. I remember one weekend, I deliberately took the longer route just to swing by a new Greggs that had opened on the way, and it honestly made the whole trip feel like a treat rather than a chore.

They said if couldn't be done. They used words like "no", and "*****", and "I don't care", but I proved them wrong. I managed to get a sort of full English out of Greggs. Yes, there are no mushrooms, black pudding or the presence of anything fried, but I am taking this as a win. Imagine them taking over any current BBC 5 Live or Radio 2 slot for a day. I reckon Breakfast with Greg James would be carnage. Elis trying to do the serious news bits while John interrupts or they get the drivetime slot and spend 40 minutes debating whether Greggs sausage rolls are better hot or cold. I work as a sandwich maker the busiest shop in my city. We're a pretty big shop as well and spread over three floors, with our own separate sandwich room as well. For context, we're usually two sandwich makers working the shift most days, with one being put on the shop floor after a few hours. We also make 250+ sandwiches on weekdays, and over 300 most weekends/busy days. Since just before Christmas though, our area manager has somehow gotten the idea that we're being "too slow" and has been making us time ourselves. If you know anyone that could benefit from this, whether they are currently homeless, potentially homeless, or whatever, please pass this on/share it however, you wanna do it. There are a number of places that are offering now extended hours and also shelters as well have adjusted their normal operating hours/procedures to help. It is quite literally deathly cold outside, so just wanted to put this on here so those that need it or those that know others that may need it, can be aware of their options. It’s not listed on here for whatever reason, but there is also a place called Hope Faith homeless campus/ministries that is providing overnight shelter for both women and men.

This is my first time trying to make breakfast myself. Normally I just buy one cup of coffee and a bread roll from Greggs everyday as my breakfast. But I found this is costly because it is really easy to be hungry after 1pm and I have to buy some snacks for the day. Is this enough for one person to deal with one week’s breakfast?

What am I going to do?! I couldn't make it to Greggs this morning.
