Steam cleaning upholstery

2h ago

Hi all! I am having a tough time trying to rent a genuine steam cleaning upholstery cleaner for a couch. I have tried Home Depot, Lowe’s, all the big bet stores, Excel Carpet Cleaning. No luck finding anything. If anyone knows where I can rent one of these machines I would greatly appreciate it! <3

Men, do you go certain places and think there might be women there to date?

3h ago

So there are running jokes about women going to home improvement stores (Lowe's / Home Depot for example) where there are likely to be a lot more men. Do men think about going to certain places and wonder if they might see a woman there to ask out? I've started thinking about it more when I go to the grocery store and other places. I try to notice men more and smile more to try to engage them if I see one who I am attracted to. Just curious what places men go and think there might be more women. Or are you just kind of oblivious and going about your day?

Any retail stores still give you comission on sales?

3h ago

You used to see that a lot back in the day. Shoe salesmen. Hardware salesmen etc. The retail companies would give you a comission on every product you convinced the customer to buy, and you could make a pretty decent living even without a college degree. I'm curious if anything like this still exists at the big retail hardware, clothing, grocery stores? (Home Depot, Lowes, Costcos, BJ's, Walmart etc.)

Less toxic flooring options?

5h ago

We are replacing old carpet and I want an option that is as non toxic as possible (low VOCs, or any other concern you know about). But I can’t spend a lot on tile or wood. I’m also not near many stores, so I’d like to know what of the basic options is really the best compromise? Laminate? Vinyl? Home Depot doesn’t seem to carry linoleum or any FloorScore options. Advice needed!

New Home Depot and Walmart.. will there hire local?

5h ago

Been pondering this for a while, with so many residents and young adults (teens as well) looking for work - will these new big box stores host job fairs? Now, I know people in Fort Mac don’t want minimum wage jobs, but I have to wonder if this will solve some of the local unemployment issues. Thoughts?

Drawer sliders

6h ago

One of my drawer sliders broke at home in which I was not involved with the cabinetry. Upon removing it from the drawer and attempting to replace, I discovered the slider piece that mounts to the wall and front of cabinet is 23" and the slider piece that attaches to the drawer is 21 5/8". These seems to be non-standard sized sliders because every store I've checked (Loews, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Amazon, Wayfair) only carries even length sized sliders (22" 24"). Any suggestions on where to find 23" / 21 5/8" drawer sliders?

Working for the MET team can feel like a no-win situation.

6h ago

Working for the MET team at Home Depot often feels like a no-win situation. You’re expected to move fast through the bays so your GSE numbers look good—but if you move too fast and go over 100%, that’s also considered a problem. If you slow down and take your time to do quality work, then you’re told you took too long. At the same time, you’re expected to dust down the bays, make sure every price label is in good condition (not broken, torn, or missing), and ensure everything looks perfect. All of that takes time, yet the clock never stops. If you rush through a bay just to protect your GSE metrics, the numbers look good—but then vendors complain about the quality of the work....

DIY mace?

Any good guides out there for making your own mace? I want something like the ckMaceworks loadable mace with 10 lb weights, any recommendations? I have the basic big box Stores, ace, home depot and Lowe's in my town.

How long will you let this continue, Florence?

8h ago

Hello everyone. I am a longtime Florence resident who would like to try to help make a difference. I apologize, but there is very little way for me to make this short and to the point. I hope you will take the time to read and understand what I have to say. If you do not have the time for this, I will sum it up as simply as possible: Please contact your district's city councilperson or the mayor and let them know that you would like to see these cameras deactivated and ultimately removed. What you see pictured here is a screenshot from a website called [deflock.me](http://deflock.me), which uses OpenStreetMaps to display the location of automatic license plate reading cameras, the ...

Grate/ Accessory Storage

8h ago

I'm new to the Kamado Joe scene. Picked up a Konnected Joe for $750 at Home Depot. I bought the stainless fish grate and soapstone and wanted to store them properly. I picked to a Keter 30 gallon deck box @ Sam's Club for $45 and a pot lid organizer for $14 @ Amazon. I think it's perfect !!

Protesters gather at Home Depot to return “ICE” scrapers, protesting the company’s ties to ICE and aiming to disru...

Some random citizen in my local city group is offering cash reward for information pertaining to a Home Depot theft.

11h ago

They confirmed in the comments that they didn't get anything stolen from them personally, just the store. Why do people simp so hard for corporations?! Yes, nobody likes theft, but come on. Get a grip on reality.

Doesn't Surprise Me

15h ago

We have zero security efforts at our store, unlike WalMart, Target, ect., thats why you won't see a headline like this with their stores being hit for this much. They both have physical, in-store security personal, and a asset protection office with a bank of video monitors getting live, in-store feeds for different departments. Additionally, they require companies put a security sensor INSIDE high value and/or high theft items. I don't want this post blocked so, I won't say how rediculas the out-dated spider wrap thing is. HD just does not want to spend the money and/or, does not care. So, it does not take thefts long to figure that out. https://www.wsaz.com/2025/12/13/1...

M18 Fuel Track Saw, $307 [Hacked]

15h ago

Here you go: Add the track saw and the battery to your cart. Select “pick up in store,” then return the battery. With some amount of luck, Home Depot won’t cancel your account. If they do, Gmail email addresses are still free, and you can create a new Home Depot account. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-FUEL-18V-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Brushless-6-1-2-in-Plunge-Cut-Track-Saw-Tool-Only-2831-20/315442335

Laziness and boredom cause hemorrhoids for me

22h ago

Hi im 32 male. ive had hemorrhoids on and off since the age of 17. what i noticed to be the most consistent cause of hemorrhoids for me is boredom and extreme laziness and loathing when confronted with a task. i work at a computer and play video games when i dont work. so i sit pretty much all day every day and have done so for years and years. sometimes i get hemorrhoids randomly, but most of the time, like 80% of the time i get them, its after days of particular boredom when i sit at the computer and i dont feel like playing or watching anything and i just sit there, waiting for the day to end. Or when i have to do something i really dont feel like doing and can feel the mental...

Asms/Management

23h ago

Please only comment with your definite knowledge and experiences. How did you become an Asm? I know usually you had to be a full-time associate and a department supervisor to become and apply for ASM positions etc to move up the ladder. I been with Depot since 2009. I was a department supervisor for 2 yrs and went part-time when they did the restructuring to persue something else and wasn't happy with where they wanted to put me as the new department supervisor. I am still part-time but would like to apply for CXM or an ASM position. Has anyone been hired outside of HomeDepot for these positions OrFrom with in not going up the ladder traditionally??? I don't want to ask at ...

Nexgrill?

1d ago

Hey ya all, anyone out there have a nexgrill from Home Depot? Store has a 28” Daytona griddle for 150 and has a lid, but I am not sure if this is a cheap brand or if they are good. It says 250 normal price. Thanks 👍

Treated Lumber question

1d ago

I have been cutting lumber for a while but this is a new location for me. This store dosnt know if we can cut treated lumber but they said to do it and that we do not need a mask while doing so. My previous location out right refused to cut treated lumber and I know that its recommended that you should wear a mask when cutting the stuff. So what is the home depot policy on this? Update: Thanks for the information. My concern was following the correct THD policy. Apparently I was following a previous SM policy response to “complaints/ concerns” on the subject.
