Wondering about availability, hours, and hiring (general)

5h ago

I’ve been wondering about working at Starbucks (I’ve been really interested in getting a part time job as a barista, the coffee tea world is interesting to me). The issue is that I’m in school, and have classes the entire weekday, and I’m only available Saturday and Sunday. This will be the case for the next year as well. I can do open, midday and close shifts, but only Saturday and Sunday. And I don’t think I’m able to make the 18 hr mark.. my classes are stem oriented and very work/lab heavy, and takes up a lot of hours per week. The large gap I have during the day before one class is spent doing homework/prep for another class, and right after that other class, the large gap a...

Boycott Starbucks!

Starbucks Workers United has begun striking for a fair contract. Please support the union and do not cross the picket line. We have so many indie coffee shops in town, let’s patronize them instead of Starbucks until a fair contract has been made 🫶

former best friend distanced herself from me and is now saying it's our fault. i want to cut her off.

5h ago

problem/goal: should i cut off my friend? context: i'm 3rd year in college, and been friends with this girl since our freshman year. we were originally 4 in our friend group, including 2 other boys. she has the horrible habit of freeloading and procrastinating things that are way past the deadline. sometimes she'd do homework that were due a month before and the submission bins are no longer open, but she would email the teachers her submissions. now, our friend group grew to add 4 more people, all girls. this has been happening for a while, since her highschool days from what her mother told me. i've tried everything for her because i used to fail my senior high and now i&#...

IWW IU640 Restaurant Worker Manifesto

6h ago

[IU640 Members of SE Michigan](https://industrialworker.org/restaurant-worker-manifesto/) || The restaurant industry stands at the frontlines of a new labor movement. A [recent report](https://www.ilr.cornell.edu/sites/default/files-d8/2025-03/labor_action_tracker_2024_final-rev.pdf) reveals that the highest concentration of strikes in recent years has come from the food service sector. From fast food counters to fine dining kitchens, workers are rising up. These struggles are not isolated incidents but signs of a broader transformation — a wave of unionism sweeping through the food service sector. # Why Organize Restaurants? Most restaurants are small shops, a structure that presents un...

I am a 41 year woman who wants to meet men her age. Is Starbucks and or other coffee shops good/great for meeting men my age What should I do? Any suggestions?

Is my sister jealous of me?

8h ago

It's a bit long actually. Well, it turns out that a year and 8 months ago I became a partner with my boyfriend, my sister went out with us, we took her for walks and things like that, just to make it clear I am younger than my sister by 8 years so at that time she was 26 and I was 18, at this moment I am 19 and she is 27, but without deviating from the topic everything was very good, until 3 months after I became a couple after my boyfriend, she started talking to a Guy, I didn't know who he was, the truth is I didn't know him, my sister is a single mother so wherever we went she went and my nephew went, that's how we were until my boyfriend and I made a date and we were ...

Every drink ******* ***** now

15h ago

I just hope someone from Starbucks corporate reads this subreddit and sees this. Nobody I know is excited to get a Starbucks coffee. It’s so ***. Every flavor tastes like a chemical crock of ****. Only one they haven’t ruined yet is brown sugar but I’m sure they’ll find a way. No chestnut praline this month is crazy. Nobody wants a ******* protein latte. Idiotic company.

How I involuntarily quit my daily Starbucks habit.

15h ago

So i used to religiously go to Starbucks every day at the same time and get the same thing. The crew in the morning was super friendly and I felt like a celebrity going in there lol. With the exception of one person who was never nice to me despite me being very friendly. She would just always glare at me and frown at me. Clearly a miserable lady. I would always dread when she would take my order because it would never be right and I think it was intentional. But I never complained or said anything ever. I was only anything but nice to this older lady. Anyway I put up with that for a while until one day when this happened… She was making my coffee, she had the cup right in front of her a...

I love replacing all my mormon apps with coffee apps.

18h ago

That’s all, just deleted lds tools, lds hyms, gospel library and the family tree app. Replace 3 of them with Beans and Brews, Dutch Bros and Starbucks apps. Most people I talk to say they like dutch bros and b&bs but I personally like Starbucks most. Maybe it’s because I grew up in WA, but I just like the roast better idk. But I am always open to more recommendations! I’ve only been drinking coffee for 3 months. So I’m a bit of a newbee.

2019-2020 Starbucks Christmas drink

19h ago

I remember getting a Christmas Starbucks drink one of these two years it was white and it was hot I don't think it was coffee but I'm not sure. I know it was in a red cup and it was really sweet and warm. Ik this is a vague description but I need this drink again.

Order flat white, given latte

20h ago

Hey I'm recently started buying coffee from costa and I'm wondering why I keep getting given lattes sometimes even close to cappaccino. This has happened in 3 different Costas. I politely inform the barista and they remake my flat white and it's always perfect. Do baristas not like making flat whites? Also just wondering why costa doesn't have flat white size takeaway cup, like Starbucks or Gregg's. It's always in a small takeaway cup which feels like too much coffee to milk ratio and I find the coffee is a lot weaker as a result.

If anyone is in Boston near the North End, i accidentally ordered my Starbucks to the waterfront location and cannot pick up. It’s a black iced coffee and an impossible breakfast sandwich.

Venti Rant: My manager is changing schedules without talking to people first. I am angry because they did this to me for...

23h ago

I know it’s *allowed* per company policy, but how is it conscionable to do to people? On a regular day it’s immoral at best, but on a holiday is absolutely asinine. There was no discussion, no notification, and I was ignored when I texted about it. I learnt about this change by accident when writing my schedule on the home wall calendar. I thought that *maybe* I had misread the schedule for that week prior, but got to work and saw the printed schedule proved that I had, in fact, *not* misread, and my schedule was shifted an entire two hours later on the holiday. I plan my life according to my work schedule once it’s posted. This job is not my life, it pays for me to live. There is a ...

THE STARBUCKS STRIKE: WHAT BOTH SIDES WANT. WHAT THEY ACTUALLY NEED.

1d ago

**THE STARBUCKS STRIKE: WHAT BOTH SIDES WANT. WHAT THEY ACTUALLY NEED.** The barista working double shifts at a Starbucks makes $17 an hour.^(1) She lives paycheck to paycheck. The coffee company’s new CEO made $96 million in his first four months.^(2) A bit of a difference between these numbers. One of these numbers is the strike. The other is the reason it will not end quietly. This isn’t a labor negotiation playing out in conference rooms. This is a reckoning about what work is worth in America, and Starbucks is the stage where its currently being played out at. For restaurants and hospitality operators watching from the sidelines, what happens here shapes every conversation you...

How to scrape Google reviews: a practical guide (2025)

1d ago

Whether you are hunting for the best tacos in the city or trying to spot a service trend before it becomes a PR disaster, Google reviews are the definitive source of public opinion. Millions of people rely on them to make decisions, which makes this data a goldmine for developers and businesses. If you can extract it, you can unlock serious market intelligence. **Web scraping** is essentially automated copy-pasting at scale. When applied to Google reviews, it involves pulling ratings, timestamps, and comments from business listings to analyze sentiment or track brand perception. Since Google doesn't exactly hand this data out for free, you need the right approach to get it. Methods to...

Bros. I seek the councel. Do you/we ever talk about the good deeds we do or we take them to the grave?

1d ago

I understand that its bad to flaunt Good deeds and is just seen as putting on heirs. Akin to narcissism. I do understand that showing other the side of human kindness can have a cascading /domino effect like paying for the coffee of the guy behind you at a Starbucks drive through. Do you/we keep it to our selves and just let those who witness the act of kindness carry on the memory in hopes that they to might have a moment of inspiration to do good without praise as well? Or do we praise our selves like a town crier and expect the masses to join in while also gaining flack from those who we it as us being narcissistic? I implore the councle's wisdom.
