(first timer on Celebrity)1h agoHello lovelies. I am an NCL girl but I am not liking the options for their itineraries coming up around the time I plan to cruise next so I'm branching out and considering a new line. Celebrity is getting closer and closer to being the one I pick. But, as always, I'm overwhelmed by the new information as I research. Considering an itinerary on the Eclipse and going solo if this helps.... 1. I understand with Celebrity you can bring some of your own soda on board. 12 pack? How does this work? I know you have to carry it on with you but is worth it to bring my favorite (and unavailable) Dr Pepper with me? which brings me to.... 2. I have read that you can go right to ... Gave him a Zarraffas drink (Aussie coffee chain similar to Starbucks but yummier)1h agoGave him a Zarraffas drink (Aussie coffee chain similar to Starbucks but yummier)1h agoBarista Express vs Bambino Plus [$550]3h agoWanting to purchase for my wife as a Xmas gift. It seems clear that most people’s advice on this sub is to get the Bambino and buy a good grinder with the money you save. However, the BBE is actually the cheaper option right now at $500. The Bambino Plus is $400 + $160 for the Baratza ESP. The BBE also seems more convenient with its all-in-one form factor and the heated top plate. If my wife’s goal is to make Starbucks-quality coffee as easily as possible, is the BBE the right choice at the current price point? My wife is NOT a coffee perfectionist or connoisseur nor do I think she will become one. She would be super happy if her machine made coffee that was equal to or better than Sta... hdfidelity presents Mr. Brightside3h agoA ChatGPT Story **hdfidelity presents** # **Mr. Brightside** ## *Episode: The Airport Security Incident* --- They had designed the airport to be calming. That was, in retrospect, their first mistake. There was a great deal of glass. There were smooth, pale floors that reflected light and footsteps and the mild existential panic of travelers. There were potted plants bravely trying to simulate the concept of oxygen. There were tasteful signs whispering things like *Arrivals* and *Departures* and *Please don’t bring that through security.* Mr. Brightside stood just outside the sliding doors and admired the automatic opening mechanism. He stepped forward. The doors parted like ... Does this sound like early signs of POTS / autonomic dysfunction? Extreme reaction to blood donation at 18 + long-term s...5h agoHi everyone — I’m trying to make sense of a medical incident from when I was 18 at Georgia Tech and whether it fits with POTS / hypovolemia / autonomic issues. I was extremely athletic and otherwise healthy at the time, so the event never made sense to me. Here’s the full picture: ⸻ 📍Major Event: Extreme Reaction After Blood Donation (age 18) I donated blood around noon for the first time as a freshman in college. I was very healthy and in the best shape of my life at the time (competitive soccer player, cardio every day). I’d had normal checkups and good medical care growing up and besides iron being on the lower side of the ok range, nothing ever caught the eye of any of m... Peppermint Mocha Brownies5h agoI was wanting to make a Peppermint Mocha Brownie that was like the Starbucks peppermint mochas that I used to have. I like it! But I think I’ll change to a more coffee flavoured buttercream frosting next time. Double chocolate mint mocha works but I want a different colour for the frosting. (It kinda dookie) Also, any tips on how to handle icing/frosting when piping? There’s always holes in mine and I want to minimize that if I can. Also it was slightly hard to push through the piping tips for at least the first few. Should I warm it up by rubbing it with my hands first to make it less firm? (I don’t wanna use the microwave) Underrated cafés in Cork for doing a bit of work/study6h agoI absolutely love doing some work in a cafe, but feels like it’s only socially acceptable in big chains like Starbucks etc.. I’d **** to take up space and take away business by sitting there ages and only getting the one coffee, so I tend to be quick enough, but where is a good place to study without the owners taking offence? Preferably locally owned coffee shop :) why are there less coffee shops in the mortheast?7h agorally point, cauldron, and a handful of Starbucks.i refuse to cross the picket line and support sb this. cauldron is closed Sundays and rally point isn't necessarily study friendly. 787 would flourish over here weirdoughs the hive please. come to the northeast, sincerely, an ex westsider spoiled with good coffee shops. Nice informal meeting space for 2 near-ish the airport?8h agoHi friends - my co-worker is flying in for a day-long brainstorm session this Friday and I am trying to figure out a good place for us to go. She’s just coming in for the day, so I don’t want to spend too much time driving back and forth. It would just be the two of us, so I don’t need a big formal meeting room or whatever - just somewhere where we could find a quiet corner or back room where they wouldn’t get annoyed at us for hanging around. Happy to call and arrange things in advance or even pay a small fee. Bonus if there’s coffee/snacks available, I’m sure we’d both make regular purchases. Please don’t suggest Starbucks, we don’t cross picket lines :) Thanks in advance... Pune to Goa road trip review11h agoDriven from Pune to Goa with a day halt at Kolhapur and here is my review. 1. The highway is not that bad. Google maps are exaggerating. Most of the detours are side roads of the highway and are free flowing. If you drive on Pune roads, even those detours are an upgrade. Just stay on the highway where all the traffic is flowing even if Google maps show otherwise. 2. The best part of the trip is going to be an hour after you leave Kolhapur. The portion of Amboli ghat, Ajaara, Sindhudurg is the best. The roads are very nice and the scenery is great. I particularly liked the small, forest-y town of Sindhudurg. 3. I halted at Kolhapur and it came out to be a good decision. Ordered their mu... Black Rifle K-Cup doesn’t have enough grounds for a full cup of coffee??11h agoI just got the Black Rifle Salty Caramel Latte k-cups, and just over halfway through brewing an 8-oz cup, it starts dispensing water, so my coffee ends up all watery. When I take the k-cup out of the Keurig it is completely empty (usually there are grounds left over, even after a 10oz brew). This doesn’t happen with my green mountain or Starbucks k-cups and my Keurig is brand new, so it’s not a clogged needle like Google suggests. I held one of the k-cups up to the light, along with the other brands, and there seems to be the same amount of grounds in the cup. I’ve wasted half the box of k-cups trying to figure this out and it happens every single time. I ordered these from the K... I quit last week. I wanna hear your quitting stories too! (Trenta sized rant/story time)12h agoHey, baristas. This is going to be a a Trenta sized post…I’ve got a lot to let go of. I’ve been a long time lurker, started working at Starbucks after at least 6 years of applying, and realized it’s not as great as people have made it seem. I started with high hopes and years of previous barista experience (6 years at a Wawa, and 1 year in an actual cafe.) I was so excited to finally become a Starbucks partner, I’ve had friends and family who worked at Starbucks before and loved the job and their time there! That was NOT my experience. I only made it a month and a half, this job was a major red flag. My store…was an absolute mess. A dumpster fire. A train wreck. It was described... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
