Sport Clips Locations

Can anyone recommend a good barber? I’m new to the area and looking for a place that’s relatively cheap and where the barber might use a straight razor to clean up a fade or a taper. I spent almost $50 for a simple cut at a Sports Clips.

If you take nothing from this post except the first sentence, I’ll tell you DO NOT do it. I got out of cosmetology school November 2024, by February 2025 I was working at Sportclips after getting out of a really bad living situation. Got my new system installed 2 days back. I think this is a little too much hair than my previous system. Can i get a haircut at sports clips or Great clips or is it recommeded to go back to the installer?

Hello Sac Reddit, I am in search of a barbershop in the area that has knowledgeable “old school” barbers. A shop that has guys who know how to cut longer hair, maybe the hot towel and shave treatment. Somewhere that has a relaxed ambience and quality cuts. In my experience a lot of these shops w younger guys do a great job at fades but they’ll leave the top all chopped and uneven. Plus they can be a little expensive ($50+ tip) I’ve heard a lot of horror stories of places like great clips, sports clips, etc. so I would like to avoid them. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know. TYIA🙏

I need a haircut and to get one before an event I'm hosting, I'm likely going to have to go to sports clips. Does anyone have any experience going to a sports clips as a trans masc person? I could go to my regular guy but they changed our transit and the trip there would take me an hour

I’ve been going down a rabbit hole of old-school sports clips lately, and it’s crazy how much style, toughness, and skill some of those athletes had. A lot of them feel timeless. Which old-school athlete do you think would still dominate if they played in today’s era? Could be any sport basketball, baseball, boxing, football, etc. Also, what do you miss most about old-school sports: the play style, the personalities, or the culture around it?

I’m thinking of getting a second job at either sports clips or great clips. Does anyone on here have any experience from those places in here? I’m mostly interested in how the pay is. Is it good pay? $25-$30 on average with tips? Glass door has reviews but it’s more throughout the states vs. here locally so it’s hard to gauge. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hello everyone, I know that Kaweco states that they're using lead-free brass on the brass sport. However, this video https://youtu.be/cTxdDoR1Iu8?si=r9qjjU67Tu_NaVKc shows at 8:35 that lead test (3%, unhealthy level) becomes positive for the Kaweco sport's clip. Anyone knows if Kaweco uses leaded brass for the clips? If so, isn't this kind of conflicting with their statement of using lead-free brass?

They ran two races last year; Sonoma, and Vegas 2 where Denny got his 60th. Surprising to see them leave so suddenly. At Vegas, one of the crew members told me that they were meant to be doing more races in 2026, so it's possible that something fell through just recently.

This might be a strange request, but I’m blind and have had shoulder length or longer hair for a while. I want to cut it off, but looking for someone that can help share an opinion of what a good, manageable. Haircut would be that looks good on me. The woman who I've had cutting my hair the last year plus just raised her rate to $120 for a men's cut. I value looking good and feeling good, but I just can't justify that amount. So, it's time to find a new spot. I used to go to Hair on Monroe Street, but I see they have closed. I'm not looking to hit up a SportClips, but Im not trying to spend over $100 - hope that helps clarify what I'm looking for. West side would be preferable, but its not a deal breaker. I also have no issue with a salon or studio over a traditional "mens" barbershop. Its 2026, fellas like pampering too.
