Probably typical story

6d ago

TL;DR: I successfully disconnected my wifi relatively easily. Story starts with my connection issues. I was reviewing my mobile data usage and found out I've been over my limit for 3 months, possibly more. I had my modem replaced less than a year ago, and I called in to have it remotely reset. This time I had a Spectrum guy come and look at it. Nothing was wrong with my hardware. It was the node on the roof, which is supposedly not Spectrum's responsibility. The guy sent a report to management but it was ignored. So I put in a work request but they never did anything. The place is corporate owned, so literally no one cares. This is CA and internet isn't legally a utility, so ...

60 days of active service with THIS phone to unlock a paid-in-full phone?

13d ago

Just double checking that I am not missing anything I finally got to the Spectrum Store today to get S26. I ported one of my lines from another carrier, traded in another phone and paid the difference in full. I also had a "Year of mobile for free" as a new Residential Internet customer which the associate was easily able to honor. My initial intent was to get a fully paid new phone, use it for a few days, then change the phone on that line to my own existing iPhone and give S26 to my mom so that she can use it with another carrier. I have not expected any issues, because, well, I am paying the phone **in full** and I essentially have a guaranteed year of service already, cou...

Carrier unlocking problem

29d ago

I bought my phone (Google Pixel 7 Pro) from Verizon, switched to Spectrum a few years ago. I want to switch to T Mobile but both their browser and app tell me my phone is locked when I type in the IMEI. So far I've talked to two people on Spectrum customer support chat, one person on the phone, one Verizon person on the phone, and have gone to the Spectrum store, Verizon store, and T Mobile store. Spectrum people all say they don't lock phones and it says unlocked for them, Verizon says it looks unlocked to them, plus I switched to Spectrum so it they don't understand what's happening. The guy at T Mobile popped another SIM in and that didn't work. I don't know ...

Canceling Internet but keeping Mobile

42d ago

I moved into my dad's house and since he has and pays for the internet there, I no longer need my spectrum Internet. I do have spectrum mobile and purchased a phone through them in October. I was on the phone with someone today trying to cancel my Internet and he would not cancel the Internet and was trying to get me to do some other bundle thing? idk I asked him to email me details but he never sent anything. After I got off the phone with the spectrum guy my dad said I can't have spectrum mobile without spectrum Internet. But I googled it and everything is saying that I can cancel my Internet but my phone bill will go up $10-$20 (which is totally fine). I just need to know befor...

Phone with number in the process of being ported out says no service

60d ago

My estranged father is the account owner but since our falling out decided to disconnect my number, which I discovered without much notice via a text from Verizon saying that the pending disconnect would complete 1/27/2026. To be clear, I never had any issue with having my phone line on my own account but I was dreading the possibility of losing my number which is the only one I've ever had, since I was 14 years old. All of my accounts are connected to this number. I knew that he would be petty and uncooperative about the transfer due to how much he hates my mother after she divorced him (he was abusive to us). He only finally gave us the account number and transfer pin today after we b...

First time with a paid off device....not sure whether to trade in or not.

69d ago

Hey gang, I am switching from verizon to spectrum mobile, and for the first time ever I will have a fully paid off device. I really like my phone for the most part (pixel 9 pro fold), it's not damaged and still runs very fast and well, but I feel the call of something fresh and new...... I'm debating getting the samsung z fold 7 as even with a new device payment I'd still be saving over $100 a month vs what I pay at verizon currently. The question would then be to trade in or to keep my pixel as a backup? It would probably be a pretty great trade in value and bring my monthly payment for the samsung down by like $20ish, IDK the total but when I was at the spectrum store...

Customer Loyalty :)

Hey. I am 3rd year with spectrum - Internet + one line. I had 300 Mbps cable that was later on upgraded for free to 600mbps. I was having $55 promo offer for Internet that expired into $75 full price few months ago. I am moving and I wanted to move my service with me. I saw spectrum deal to bring 4 phone lines and get Internet discount - the calculation was fine: 4 lines $30 each + $10internet - totaling $130 net. I visited the spectrum store to finalize this deal and the shock that I can't use a dual sim device with two spectrum lines hit me. That was a deal breaker for me - as I need two lines on single iPhone - and I see no reason why would I need two different carriers for this ...

Where is the fine print located for what I’m signed up for now?

76d ago

I started with Spectrum in 2022 when they build fiber in my new neighborhood, got the new customer promotion it was like $49.99. But every year went up until this year it got up to over $100 so I had to get this under control. I have only ever been a residential internet customer. Yesterday went to the Spectrum store and mentioned need to get my bill way down or I’m out, & he said only way to get me down would be to bundle something. So I ended up leaving with a new Spectrum Mobile Unlimited phone line to accomplish that & I also left with higher internet speed & new bill is around $46 a month. The guy who worked this out with me mentioned “it will be another few ...

Mobile upgrades

106d ago

Currently trying to upgrade 2 pixel 7 pros to the pixel 9 pros. They are more than 50% paid off so I am eligible for the upgrade. The problem, is I went to 2 different spectrum stores and neither had the 9 pro in stock. They only have the 9a, or all the 10 variants. Can anyone that works at spectrum tell me, is there any chance they will be back in stock in-store before the end of the month? Also, shoutout to whatever bean counter decided it would be a great experience for customers to have no way to contact a store to check stock, or for the stores to communicate between each other to verify stock. They did a fantastic job making the experience as miserable as possible, which I guess is ...

So have $500…for something….

110d ago

We switched to Spectrum Mobile in October. Honestly, I think this was a good move and I have to give them props for their customer service. I had online problems with the phone buyout from another carrier and their customer service was stellar…I mean they called me every week to give me status. I got the prepaid card like 3 weeks later. Was approximately $500. It’s a Visa card and it’s in my Apple Pay wallet. Yay. So my son’s phone is like 10 years old and we thought, oh, let’s get him a new phone and pay for $500 of it with the Visa! So we went to the Spectrum store on Friday. Yeah no. Can’t do that. The card won’t work. They gave me a number to call with billing. ...

Is anyone using Spectrum mobile?

115d ago

I just came back from a Spectrum store to keep my home internet at the promotional price I got last year. The salesperson told me about Spectrum mobile. For $30/line, I would get unlimited data + free international calls/data when I travel internationally. And since they use Verizon towers, porting my iPhone (which uses Verizon) wouldn't be a problem. Any thoughts on Spectrum mobile?

Razr ultra and Spectrum mobile (USA)

118d ago

PSA: I tried to switch my spectrum mobile esim to my razr ultra over the phone and Spectrum said it does not work on their network. So I went and got a physical SIM card from spectrum, activated it in my current phone and then swapped it into my ultra and it has worked just fine for 20 hours and counting. By the way, the guy in the Spectrum store said it wouldn't work because SIM cards are tied to IMEI numbers. But he was wrong so far. Also I would not tell them that I got a razr ultra, I think they won't activate it because they don't sell it in the store so I didn't want them actively blocking it. If they press you, just say you do something dirty like ride dirt bikes ...

Question on joining spectrum mobile

125d ago

My apartment complex is officially getting spectrum fiber. The lines are run , boxes installed so I have a few questions 1. I’ll have 1 gig for $50 for 26 months (currently paying 96 with AT&T for copper. Is this a good deal 2. I spent over five hours today at the spectrum store, trying to get spectrum mobile only to realize that I had entered in the wrong IMEI to try to get service. I have verified that one IMEI works.. do I have to go back to the store to sell set up? 3. If I call spectrum mobile., and give them my account and provide the IMEI. Can they set it up for me rather than going to the store? Thanks in advance!

Looking to downgrade from 1Gig to "Backup" only

130d ago

/update/ It looks like Spectrum offers a 100Mb product that starts at $30/mo then goes up to $60/mo after the promo period. I’ll stick with my Tmo 5G backup for now at $10/mo. I’m going to finish out this billing cycle (EOM) and schedule an appointment at my local Spectrum store to drop off my equipment. Thanks everyone for your feedback! I've had Spectrum for quite a long time and it's been very reliable, all things considered. A fiber provider has come through and offered 2gig symmetrical, and I've signed up for it. I don't have a lot of experience with this provider (MetroNet/T-Fiber), however, my wife is WFH and she needs a seamless failover. I've ha...

just switched back to spectrum- it’s been a pain.

142d ago

tldr: switching back after 2 years has been a huge pain. we decided to switch back to spectrum after leaving 2 years ago because the prices are better. when i called in to set up a plan, there was a fraud block on our address because two separate people signed up using our address (we’ve lived in our house for 12 years). in order to get the block removed, my husband had to go to a spectrum store with documentation to prove we live there (yet the 2 people who used our address didn’t have to prove it- and what is the point of using our address?). we had planned to call back in after the block was removed but the person at the store said the block wouldn’t be removed if he didn’t sig...

Like going to the DMV

155d ago

Verizon store...empty...att store empty, t mobile store empty... Spectrum store...like going to the DMV and visiting a senior citizen home all in one. 2 hr wait with lines of confused seniors and immigrants with babies in strollers and no where to sit and wait with utter confusion all around. Employees overwhelmed and people coming in, signing up for an appointment and then leaving angry after an hr. Totally makes you consider paying a little more for better run company.

At my wits end with spectrum mobile access point problem

171d ago

So about 4 days ago my new pixel 10 pro xl stopped connecting to any and all spectrum mobile access points either the one coming out of my home router or ones in the spectrum stores or in other places. When I try to connect it gives the error of authentication problem. I got a new esim installed. Had home modem reprovisioned. Reset the phone multiple times. Reset all network settings dozens of times. Only thing that comes to mind around that time out phones got shut off for non payment due to a switch in credit card and forgetting to update auto pay. Any help from any spectrum people.

Unbelievable Incompetence -Customer Service

173d ago

I have no words to express our frustration over the lack of competence shown by both the call center customer service and the Spectrum store employees. There is a severe communication breakdown that happens over the phone, which is exacerbated by the script that the sales department is made to follow, e.g. "Oh I'm sorry to hear that, let's see if we can do something to fix that". It is beyond condescending and a waste of time frankly. Not so, by the way, when activating a service. That department is to the point and no-nonsense. Instead we get "How is your day going?" "Do you mind me asking what you do for a living?" All intended to ingratiate themse...
