I am designing a Cosmere-themed MTG set where each magic system becomes its own mechanic. I love MTG and have just recently finished the Cosmere books. I've been consuming a lot of 40k media (lore videos, shows, video games) and have been considering getting into the tabletop game. The house is 1940's with reddish orange doors, floor, window trim. The floor is refinished natural red oak. Nice details everywhere like glass door knobs, high ceilings, curved wall front entrance. My local gameboard store decided to host mini painting events. Decided to start on the croc. This was done in roughly 2 hors and 30 minutes, using painter acrylics (zorn palette + blue) and some pouring medium and glaze medium (just mixed on the go, trusting my feelings and going with the flow). Really fun mini to paint (well, KDM is always fun to paint :^)).

I love my big blue wall but chickened out on the other three. The grey is leftover from when the other 3 walls were yellow and I was trying to shorten the space a bit (had less furniture then). I wonder if anyone else has ever felt that pull almost immediately, to do it again. To get high and disappear into the enveloping warm hug of THC. This is my very first time painting something, and I feel incredibly incompetent. I’m painting a billy bookcase (and later oxberg doors) with oak effect, so the finish is a paper foil. I asked the store for help, and the lady told me I wouldn’t need to sand the finish, just wash it before I go in with one coat of primer, and then the actual color. She advised I use a roller. The primer is water based if that matters. I went in with the roller and immediately these holes started forming. I went over it again to try and fill them (just a couple of minutes later) but some are still there. How do I solve this? Dare I paint over this again? Is it too thick of a coat or too little? Haven’t gone to multiple stores yet, but first dealer I stopped in quoted me \~20K “before any deals/discounts” for the ‘26 Street Bob. The specific combo I was looking at was +650 paint and +1000 on top of 15K stock price. I get that there are all the BS fees/taxes but realistically what should I try to negotiate for this? I get they don’t want to do give me OTD price unless I’m ready to buy so I don’t take it to another dealer to try to beat, but how much wiggle room is there realistically? Hi all, I've posted my query a while ago, and then I decided to try again from scratch, rather than trying to refine my old one. As far as I have understood, a query should focus on the first third of the novel, but in my case a lot of the interesting things happen after the one third mark, such as the introduction of secondary characters etc. This might be an indicator that my story moves too slow, it is already on the longer side at 118k words (which other people mentioned the last time might simply be too long for this genre), and I am thinking of doing another revision and kill some darlings to reduce the length of the novel.
