I'm 43 and have been using Retin-A for years, so am up to the highest strength at 0.1 (use it almost every night, with one night off per week or whenever I'm feeling extra dry/peely. For me, I find I get less peeling when I use it every day. I've tried it many ways (on bare skin, sandwich, open sandwich, etc), but irritation and peeling is still part of the game for me. I've heard such good things about Tazarotene in this thread, that I've decided to give that a try to see if I like that better. I'm more focused on like eyeshadow and like lip gloss or smt. I dont really care for like foundation and all that right now, maybe concealer at the most for now. I couldn't find anything that piqued my interest at pharmacies, and I always freak out in sephoras because of how many people are there usually. I'm into more colorful looks that are shimmery and sort of metallic-y? (im big on purples and blues and greens and golds rn) But I do also like more neutrals like browns, blacks and silvers too. The dermatologist I visit with has put me on a few dandruff shampoos to try out, including store-bought like H&S bare, and ketoconzale shampoo i pick up from the pharmacy. Now, I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but my issue with dandruff pretty much just started happening one random day. No switch in routine, product, or excessive picking at the scalp, I pretty much just had this condition one day and my dermatologist made it seem as though my options are pretty limited (i.e., I have to resort to the solutions I've been given).
