Overshadowed by her siblings, she's left with little to do but nap, read … and occasionally cut the falling raindrops with her sword. Spotted one day by an astonished adventurer, he insists on grading Juliette's swordsmanship, then pro... Working in hotel boutiques/ stores.3h agoAs a college student, I am looking for positions with a lot of downtime. I like interacting with people and talking especially in tourism. I have often been to hotel boutiques and see they are usually more quiet, I was wondering has anyone worked in a hotel store or knew someone and would they recommend to someone who has mostly worked in front desk positions but wanting more downtime and less customers? What is a cooling towel?3h agoI recently discovered cooling towels, and they've completely changed how I deal with hot summer days, intense workouts, and outdoor activities. Let me share my experience and explain why these towels are becoming increasingly popular. A cooling towel is a specialized piece of fabric designed to stay cooler than the ambient temperature when wet. Unlike regular towels, these are made with unique materials (usually a blend of polyamide and polyester) that create an evaporative cooling effect when activated with water. I was skeptical at first, but after trying one during my morning runs, I was amazed by how well it worked. The science behind it is pretty simple - the towel uses evaporati... How to make cold brew coffee with a Toddy maker?3h agoAs someone who's been making cold brew coffee for years, I've tried just about every method out there. But my go-to is still the Toddy maker. It's simple, reliable, and produces smooth, low-acid cold brew every time. If you're new to cold brew or looking to up your game, here's how to use a Toddy maker for perfect cold brew coffee: 1. Start with coarse ground coffee. You'll need about 12 ounces for a full batch. 2. Put the stopper in the bottom of the Toddy and wet the filter. Place the filter inside the brewing container. 3. Add 6 cups of cold water to the container, then gently add your coffee grounds. 4. Slowly pour another 6 cups of water over the groun... No religion has ever had a positive effect on science.3h agoThe only exception EVER is in the first two centuries of Islam, where there is no documentary evidence about the Islamic religion *at all*. All the tales of Muhammed were written 200 years after the 600-ish CE inception, in other words. But they created the Islamic Renaissance, aka the Islamic Golden Age! This is a fact that is unfortunately virtually unknown in the West - the early pre-Muslim-history Muslim leaders set a huge priority on learning and knowledge, and collected vast libraries of texts acquired in their military conquests, most of which remain untranslated to this day. The amount of knowledge *and technology* that flowed from this not only sparked the European Renaissance hund... Mom threw out my $300 drawing tablet3h agoI'm 17F and digital art is my one calm, happy thing. Saved for months from my part time job to buy a drawing tablet and styluses. My mom hates me having interests that don't involve her. Says things like "why draw when you could help me" or "art doesn't make money." Yesterday came home from school and my art supplies were gone. Asked my mom and she said she threw them away because my room was "too cluttered" and I "don't need distractions from school." Started crying and she got angry calling me "dramatic." Said I was ungrateful and she was doing me a favor helping me focus on "real" things. The tablet cost ... 39 [M4F] Northeast US | Hey, so the world's probably ending (again) and the summer is awful so let me take you to t...3h agoSeriously, load your cart up. Fill your bag. I'll help you wheel a pallet out to your car. Whatever helps to distract from the ongoing nightmare. Anyway, I made a post back in January where things seemed slightly *less* awful but still wasn't great so here we are again! In all seriousness, my name is Derek and in the interest of connecting with someone real I'm just going to keep it open and transparent. Maybe you'll do the same. I figured I'd give this reddit thing one more shot (again). I went on and immediately put a bunch of samples in my cart! I did email Serena asking for some recommendations and she got back to me super quickly and was kind (though I left out some of my problematic notes, so I couldn't take all of her suggestions!) Everything arrived quickly and well packaged, along with a few extra samples. I ordered 10 myself, but haven't been able to use a couple of the stronger gourmands due to some sensitivities and the heat in Florida (Amande, Milk). **LOVE’S TRUE BLUISH LIGHT (9/10)** **Description:** Wrap yourself in a silky veil of... I think I hallucinated and it’s driving me to spiral.3h agoThis is embarrassing to talk about, and everyone’s been laughing at me. But it’s been sending me into a spiral. So. What better place to talk about it than here? For starters, I am a 20 year old female. I recently got diagnosed with schizophrenia, though my family has all been on the fence about how true it is, since it happened during my first and only ever appointment with a psychiatrist. I was at work this morning - I work in a bridal store and was talking to some clients in need of a bridesmaid dress. I was talking them through how the process would go for our appointment. Our store is set up with four fitting rooms on each side, and I had my right side toward the rooms speaking t... The labor strikes that took place between the 1930s and 1950s weren’t isolated skirmishes. They were, often violent contests between workers demanding dignity and a powerful agribusiness class determined to maintain control. Studio of Books LLC-Scamming my Mother In Law and need help3h agoSo here I am finally posting this thread. I am asking for any and all stories involving the "publisher" Studio of Books LLC, that any of you might have. Any direction to articles exposing them that I might have missed on this scam would be great too! I also want to preface this by saying that I don't **** my mother in law and I don't secretly want her to fail. I just don't want her being taken advantage of, but I do wholeheartedly believe that she is being scammed, for a lot of money too and she refuses to listen, I see where her son gets it from. And the more we try to tell her and show her it's a scam, the more money she spends trying to convince us otherwis... I Am A Ghost3h agoI feel like I wildly missed something with this one. I've seen lots of raving reviews but I was so underwhelmed by it. It was an interesting concept, but the acting was subpar in a way that really affected how much I felt I could enjoy the movie. I was so distracted by the stilted, "acting" language and awkward dialogue. Also have seen rave reviews about how Emily was "timeless" but it didn't seem on purpose, it seemed like multiple times period mistakes being stacked on top of each other. Dressing like that but having a radio? Tying a bonnet around her head before going to the grocery store? Also, I didn't understand the ending. At all. Which is probably ... We went to the South Hills Village to walk around and entered through Von Maur. When they're saying upscale, they're not kidding! Women well-dressed in business attire and men in suits! The inside of the store is incredible and reminds me of some old department stores that still lingered around when I was a really little kid in the late 90s to early 2000s. I'd never go shopping there because the prices were a bit too... Chapter 11 New Boy: Life and Death at the World Headquarters of the Jehovah's Witnesses3h agoChapter 11 "Have Sword Will Travel" Roy Baty and Tom Ottowell were my first roommates in Kansas. Roy and I moved into Tom’s duplex. That turned out to be a total disaster. Roy put his dog in the basement. We came home from Field Service one day to find Roy’s dog had completely destroyed everything Tom had stored down there. Plus, Roy hadn’t been down there in a couple of days so there was dog **** everywhere. We told Roy that either he or his dog had to go. We all ended up renting a one-bedroom duplex on Crawford Street. The rent was only $90 a month. Tom got the upstairs bedroom and Roy and I shared the basement area without the dog. Tom was a diabetic and a strange duck. ... First time watch: Thoughts on 1x06 Of Men and Angels3h agou/Kaylablues728 yeah, soooooooooooooo, I lied to you.
