Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Publix Latest Community Discussions About PublixThe Grocery Strategy: When it's worth buying "Store Brands" vs. Name Brands in US Supermarkets12h agoFood prices in the US have seen significant inflation, making grocery strategy essential for new immigrants trying to optimize their budget. The most immediate way to save 20-30% on your weekly bill is by embracing "Store Brands" (also known as private label). Products like Costco's Kirkland Signature, Target's Up&Up, or Walmart's Great Value are often manufactured in the exact same factories as the expensive name brands, just with a different label slapped on. For pantry staples like flour, sugar, canned beans, and basic cleaning supplies, the store brand is functionally identical. However, for highly processed snacks, specialized sauces, or specific persona... IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!13h agoI’VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR SILVER FOR MONTHS, CHECKING ALL CHANGE I’VE GOTTEN AT STORES, PICKING UP EVERY COIN I FIND ON THE GROUND, AND I’M WAITING TO TAKE LIKE A GRAND TO THE BANK TO SEARCH ROLLS BUT FINALLY, FINALLY I FOUND ONE, WHERE? YOU MAY ASK? THE PUBLIX BRAND COINSTAR REJECT TRAY!!! Strangely enough this was after I had found a 2 Euro coin on the floor at the gas station, and after I found this I found a clad dime and quarter on the floor. I’m so happy though honestly, I put it on the shelf along with my 1957 Dime that I found here at home. Free silver! "Okay ka lang, Nay?" (and all the things I came to love about CDO)15h agoThat one line uttered by a young man at Savemore surprised me so much that I was taken aback and for a "cat-got-my-tongue" moment, all I could say was "Okay ra ko, na-hinali-an ra" and couldn't even remember if that was Bisaya or Hiligaynon. I am confused sometimes, growing up speaking both that I got some terms mixed up. It was Mother's Day and I'm not even a mother. Single and no kids but so touched that a young man cared to ask when I wobbled on my feet as I suddenly stood up from sitting too long and almost lost my balance. I forgot I was old and nearing 54. Hahaha! But thank you! Thank you, young man! You're so kind. You have been brought up wel... How are stores outside of Nashville (Murfreesboro,Smyrna etc.)?15h agoThinking of moving to Tennessee from Florida, we've been with Publix for a few years and wanna transfer to a store out there. How's the pay difference, culture, rent around there, and just how is it in general. We're in the mid pay range for deli clerks. Anything to watch out for, any stores in particular to avoid or look at, etc. Anything info helps Towel-wrapped alligator in a Publix cart, and the “emotional support reptile” explanation is doing a lot of work16h agoSaw this on BuriedMedia today and it feels like exactly the kind of weird little file this sub is for. The basic file: Deputies in Jacksonville reportedly arrested a man after Publix employees spotted a live alligator wrapped in a towel in his grocery cart. According to the story, he told officers it was his “emotional support animal.” The part that makes me pause is how casual the whole setup sounds. Not hidden in a backpack, not in a carrier, just towel-wrapped in a cart in the middle of a grocery store. If the reporting is accurate, animal control had to step in before he surrendered it, and he was cited for alligator possession and trespassing. Questions I’d want answered before... Taking your daughter to the bathroom16h agoWe have a 4 year old daughter who is potty trained. Recently we were shopping in a supermarket when she decided she needed to pee there and then. Unfortunately the store has one stall in the mens that was occupied at the time. Naturally, my daughter is screaming she needs to go and so I make a quick decision and just take her into the women’s bathroom which was empty, entering the stall with her to help her. She goes, I wash her hands, and we leave without interacting with anyone. In New York it is perfectly legal for me to do this, but the question comes about ethics. Should I announce myself as I enter? Should I just wait for the mens stall to become free and deal with the inevitable ... Heartfelt message to all pigeon lovers living in the southern hemisphere16h agodear friends, if you live in the southern hemisphere (ie brazil, argentina, australia, new zealand, chile, south africa etc), winter is upon you now. if you can spare the time (& money), pls visit your local parks and feed the pigeons. not all feral pigeons are well-fed and fat like the ones at Trafalgar Square and other tourist spots. in reality, in a typical city/town all across the southern hemisphere now, some 18% to 27% resident feral pigeons will die this winter. the ones who die are usually the old, the sickly and the young. they die of cold or disease or hunger. **they starve**. the food that you give them will help them survive this winter (even if it's just a little... Stickers sold out17h agoI just went to 8 different stores near me (a mix of walgreens, cvs, publix, navarro) and everyone is sold out. haven’t experienced this for a world cup yet. crazy! My garage is a disaster… thinking of getting new shelving units19h agoAs you can guess from the title my garage has officially reached the point where opening is almost impossible. Every time I try to find one tool, I end up moving six random boxes, old paint cans, camping gear, Christmas decor, and stuff I forgot I even owned. It’s complete chaos in there. I decided to reorganize my garage and clean it up after I visited my neighbour to borrow a drill. And I saw his place… it was so clean and organised, and I’ve decided that I need something like that Came home afterward and immediately started mentally reorganizing everything… The biggest issue is I just don’t have enough shelving space, but I also don’t really want those flimsy shelves ... Built GQList.com because Trello + Discord completely failed our family shopping chaos21h agoI’ve been building [https://gqlist.com](https://gqlist.com) for a little over a year now. I’m a father of 5, and our shopping/list system was an absolute disaster. We tried Trello boards, Discord messages, random notes, screenshots, texts, “don’t let me forget this” conversations... and stuff still constantly disappeared or got overlooked by other text/msg. Kids would forget things they liked, we’d buy duplicates, or someone would remember something after we already left the store. /shrug What made it worse is we shop at like 3-4 different stores regularly, so remembering WHAT we buy and WHERE we buy it became its own problem. some of the wholesalers have like items you only ... Nashville Beer News - May 11, 202621h agoI put up a page for [regular events at breweries](https://old.reddit.com/r/NashvilleBeer/comments/1tafnl5/regular_events_at_nashville_breweries/). This was from comments that some breweries were not featured here each time despite having regularly featured events (Blackstone Sunday 1/2 price was one). I am also expanding my searching social media to get a fuller listing of what is going on. Starting off, **Harding House** is now seeking crowd funding on [Honeycomb Credit](https://invest.honeycombcredit.com/campaigns/Harding-House-Brewing-Co) to launch the new taproom. They are seeking a minimum of $25, 000 - currently at $6,664. I'm an American that retired to Portugal about 4.5 years ago. As I'm not wealthy, I have a budget that allows me a comfortable life, but it doesn't allow for €7 tins. Therefore, I go looking for lesser brands along with keeping my eye out for sales. The really odd part is that for many people living in Portugal, these top brands like Nuri are not available. I never see them at any of my supermarkets. I live near a mid-size city in the Coimbra district with all the big supermarket chains. Still, I can usually only spend about €3,50 for a tin with exceptions. The reason is that this is what the market will bear. I'... Purchasing gift cards23h agoI’ve long had my suspicions but fairly certain the proof has found me today. I (27F) and my husband (28M) care for his terminally ill mother and our two children both under 5. My husband has acted every bit of someone having an affair but has used the ‘dying parent’ excuse to dismiss me for about the last two years. The beginning of April I caught him taking bluechew at 6AM before he left for work he convinced me was taken the night before for ‘us’ despite us not being intimate. He confirmed does not have an ED or take any medications that would cause ED like symptoms. For about the last month, he hardly will touch me but has a new found obsession for oral sex whilst my ‘needs’... Best neighborhoods/apartments for commuting to Downtown Boston?23h agoHi all! I’m moving to Boston for work starting in June, and I’m trying to figure out a good area to rent a 1 bedroom / studio apartment. The office location is close to State and Downtown Crossing subway stations. My priorities are: * Easy public transit commute (such as MBTA, ideally \~30 mins or less) * Newer/clean apartment buildings (trying to avoid old buildings/pest issues) * Safe area * Close to grocery stores / Asian supermarkets would be a huge plus * Budget up to $3000/month * Prefer living alone (1B > studio) Right now I’m considering places like Malden (The Exchange Street Apts, 160 Pleasant St. Apts, Residences at Malden Station), but I’m open to any recommend... Nuisance neighbour and legal action against housing association23h agoHi everyone, I hope someone can help me get some help for my mum. She is based in England, owns her own home, has a nuisance neighbour in social housing, and is not getting any help from the police, council, or the housing association. This has been going on for the last 7 years at least and no one seems to be able to help. The neighbour is in a housing association house (Clarion if that makes a difference) whereas my mum owns hers. The problems started with parking (fairly typical dispute over the neighbour parking over my mum’s driveway and blocking her car in), to which the neighbour got increasingly aggressive, swearing and shouting in my mum’s face. My mum likely had some choice w... When will TESCO have the new CMF series?1d agoI live in a small a town in Hungary, way far from any lego stores, so my only option to find it is supermarkets. TESCO is the nearest for me and all other stores have been looted by scalpers. Because TESCO doesn't have it yet, it's my only chance to buy from before the scalpers arrive. Any online shop is selling them for 2-3 times the prize with shipping. Usually how much time it takes for TESCO to acquire new CMFs? A female cashier vs a Regular male customer : Strong mutual signs of interest until he suddenly avoided me at the checko...1d agoI’m a female student working as a cashier at a local supermarket. There’s a regular customer (likely a student too, lives nearby) who I’ve developed a crush on. Here is the timeline of our interactions: Every Time I cash him, White I am checking him out, he blushes, bug out, and couldn’t hold eye contact when saying goodbye. One day, I made his store loyalty card with a big smile. He blushed, smiled slightly, looked down, and said, "Thank you very much, good evening." Since then, he repeats this exact phrase every time he sees me. Like he seems kinda over polite He started dressing up and fixing his hair specifically when he knew I was working. One day, he came in we... Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
