home-cooked dog food inspo

1h ago

Hi there! my 10 month old mini has recently become very picky with the dog food we give him so we decided to cook his meals. right now it’s just mixed frozen veg, pork mince and white rice (mums idea) but i worry it’s not enough for him nutritionally. he loves it and i’ve never seen him this excited to eat but im worried about the rice since we do it for the week and heat it up as needed. does anyone else cook their pups meals and if so what do you use? also im definitely looking at getting some supplements for him too if we continue feeding him like this so any recommendations at all would be greatly appreciated!

Dog Food Availability

1h ago

Hi all! I have some beef dog food from Mud Bay that is available. We’ve been trialing different proteins due to a suspected allergy and have some extra that would be a shame to waste. Unfortunately we no longer have the original bag since it’s kept in our dog food container, so I understand if that makes it a bit questionable. Just hoping it might still be useful to someone.

Verzenio and coping with fatigue, mild anemia, low white blood cells

1h ago

I started verzenio (abemaciclib) 2.5 weeks ago. So far my side effects are fatigue and some skin rashes. My bloodwork came back and indicates low white blood cells (not neutropenia, just a bit low) and mild anemia. My oncologist is happy with everything and I will continue at 100mg. I think I'm not experiencing the GI issues since I started at this lower dose (very thankful for this!). My question is how can I help myself to overcome the fatigue? I'm exercising three times a week and walking on off days. I'm still off work, so I get plenty of rest/down time. I'm just tired of being tired, you know?! Any tips? Foods I should try? I asked about supplements and my oncolog...

Hydrate de carbone..

Carbohydrates -> Hydrate de carbone (Glucides)

What else to add to my diet?

1h ago

Due to my work schedule I've been averaging 5-6 hours sleep last decade or so. I only recently started consistently having body soreness, occasional muscle spasms/twitches throughout my body, and just a general feeling of fatigue that wasn't there before even though my physical exertion levels are less now than what they were before. I know that smoking and caffeine contributes to all the above symptoms but I do it in moderation (Max 5 cigs a day and 2-300mg caffeine from pills, coffee, energy drinks etc..) Since symptoms began I've started taking more magnesium to reduce spasms/twitches and added some essential amino acids(protein shakes) to my diet. I've also lost some ...

I built a free tool to help dog owners find WSAVA-compliant food - looking for feedback

1h ago

I built a tool called **PawPick** that helps dog owners find food recommendations from the 5 WSAVA-guideline-compliant brands in the US (Hill's, Royal Canin, Purina, Iams, Eukanuba). **What it does:** * Short quiz about your dog (breed, age, size, weight, health conditions, dietary needs) * Returns personalized food suggestions filtered to only WSAVA-compliant brands * Includes an educational section covering grain-free/DCM concerns, why boutique brand ingredient lists can be misleading, and raw food risks * Safety gates built in (e.g., dogs with cardiac conditions won't see grain-free options) **What it is NOT:** * Not a substitute for veterinary advice **-** there are discl...

Solo hikes a good idea?

1h ago

I have done a few hikes all by myself in the Northeast - but not much bear danger here so its not a big issue. Planning Yellowstone in June first week, will visit geysers and then thinking of doing Mount Washburn hike. Is it a good trail to do solo? Most likely to do it on the friday or thursday. Prepared to carry bear spray and keep food to minimum (Protein bars at the most). I do hikes at relatively decent pace but was just wondering whether its a bad idea to do this. Any suggestions?

Single Server Pizza - 374 kcal

1h ago

Got this from Aldi today and had it for tea tonight. It tastes decent for what it is! I had to cook it a little longer to melt the vegan cheese, but the serving feels quite big, and this way you can add a side without the calories being too high. It might not work for everyone, but I urge everyone to give it a go!

Failure

1h ago

I lost 80lbs, its been 2 years since my surgery and gained most back. I'm too scared to look at the scale again, because I had a bad eating disorder (Bulemia) as a teen and don't want to trigger it. I can eat more than I feel like I should. Even when I'm drinking water all day, I get so hungry, it almost feels like they didn't take out as much of my stomach as they should have. Or that it stretched back out. Its so disheartening. I felt myself when I lost the weight and was becoming confident, but now I've crashed back to the bottom again. My ankles hurt from the weight regain, my depression has made me lethargic and I never feel good. I want to start over but d...

Dog Food Donation?

2h ago

Hi all! Does anyone know of companies or shelters that accept opened dog food? We’ve been trialing different proteins due to a suspected allergy and have some extra that would be a shame to waste. Unfortunately we no longer have the original bag since it’s kept in our dog food container, so I understand if that makes it a bit questionable. Just hoping it might still be useful to someone.

How to Fix Your Gut Health: The Science-Backed Habits Secretly Destroying Your Digestion (And What Actually Works)

2h ago

Your gut is probably more ****** up than you think. Not to freak you out, but most people are walking around with digestive systems that are barely functioning. Bloating after meals? "Normal." Irregular bowel movements? "Just how my body works." Brain fog, weird skin issues, constant fatigue? We blame stress, aging, bad genes, whatever makes us feel better. But here's what I learned after diving deep into gut health research, listening to experts like Radhi Devlukia on various podcasts, reading microbiome studies, and experimenting on myself: most digestive issues aren't actually normal. They're symptoms of habits we've been told are healthy but are ...

Weaning off and feeling sad

2h ago

I'm finally weaning off at 6.5months PP. My journey with breastfeeding have been something that has caused me an incredible amount of tears and sadness. I'm an undersupplier (2oz combined every 3hrs). In the beginning my LO was a very sleepy guy who didn't know how to nurse or would fall asleep after 2 mins trying so I started pumping. I'm a FTM SAHM who didn't know how to pump with no family or friends here to help and LC's I consulted didn't give me much help. I was painfully engorged the first 2 weeks. I was diagnosed with PPA and I was advised to have at least one sleep stretch of 4 hours so I couldn't pump every 2hrs at night. I did try powerpum...

LON TIBIA Update with Dr. Quynh 8/3/2026

2h ago

Hey all, this is an update to my progress. Sry to only update now after so long. Ever since the surgery, most of my daytime has been occupied with working on my remote job, sleeping regularly throughout the day, eating (for hours I eat a lot), gaming, and exercising. Plus, writing is such a long drawn out process. Therefore, I got lazy. So I decided that I will update once I got a bunch of contents and experiences that are worth reading. Currently, I have lengthened to 4.9cm (1.93”). I started to perform lengthening on the 14th Jan, so to date over one and half months have passed. I have been lengthening at 1mm per day since the day I started. However, currently I am experiencing a mino...

Only 3.4 lbs lost in month 1

2h ago

I completed my first month today — 4 weekly shots at 2.5 mg. I’m a 5 ft F and only lost 3.4 lbs in the first month. I definitely felt the food noise go away, ate less, increased my protein and fiber intake, and generally ate clean. I didn’t exercise because the last month was very stressful at work, but I do plan to increase my physical activity starting now. Why am I not losing more weight? According to my prescription, I will be increasing to 5 mg for the second month and then 7.5 mg in month 3. Did you all lose more weight in the second month? SW: 188.5 lbs CW: 185.1 lbs GW: 110 lbs

Importing formula to the USA- worth it?

2h ago

Hi all! My LO is almost 7 weeks old and currently being fed exclusively ****** milk in bottles. She drinks 5-6oz about 5-6 times a day, averaging about 30oz in 24hr. However, exclusively pumping has taken its own mental toll on me, and despite having a goal of 6mo for my EP journey, I'm not sure I'll make it there, which I'm fine with if it helps me be a better mom to my beautiful girl. I've heard lots of good things about goat milk formula, especially with it usually being easier for babies to digest and while not (obviously) the same as ****** milk, being close to the protein and nutrition profile. Honestly, I don't care too much about the similarities to bm as l...
