Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Protein Foods Latest Community Discussions About Protein FoodsSpelt flour sourdough1h agoI am having a hard time making a spelt flour sourdough loaf! I am working with this recipe: https://www.farmhouseonboone.com/how-to-make-whole-wheat-sourdough-bread/#wprm-recipe-container-21154 Ingredients ▢ 475 grams freshly milled whole wheat ▢ 325 grams water ▢ 100 grams active starter ▢ 10 grams salt The first attempt I followed the recipe exactly as written. The second attempt I added 30g flour due to it being very wet and poor proofing. It did seem a lot easier to work with the second time, but reqlly little rise. Is this to be expected with this type of flour? Or is there something I can do better?! TIA 430 cal pizza 55g protein1h agoReally really tasty and super filling. Roll ball of 250g chicken mince squish into a circle, place on foil and season. Bake in the oven for 25 min on high, turn and keep an eye on thickness and crispness. I prefer mine crispy! I put a little tomato puree across the top, slice some mushrooms, and grated cheese to taste / cal budget. How a 10-acre rescue center in Tanzania is proving that circular farming actually works1h ago**TL;DR:** A 10-acre rescue center in Tanzania is feeding 70+ people sustainably, training girls in climate-resilient farming, saving $33k/year on food costs, and funding itself through eco-tourism. It's circular economy principles actually working in practice, not just in theory. There's a place in Tanzania's Karatu District that's running what they call an "ecoVillage" on just 10 acres. And they're not just talking about sustainability - they're actually doing it in a way that makes economic sense. Here's how their circular system works: They use zero-grazing livestock techniques (keeps animals in one place, reduces land degradation). The ... Using Cronometer charts to determine how many days a week I should take a multivitamin.1h agoAfter taking a multivitamin 2 days in the last 6 days the Cronometer charts show I don't need a daily multivitamin to cover my micronutrients. I am getting a good amount of my micronutrients from food on the days I don't take a multivitamin. Realgood Flour Tortillas - spongy / chewy1h agoI’ll preface this by saying Im not a keto person. Not by choice at least. My husband suffers from a condition that forces him to eat as close to keto as possible. That said, I’m always looking for ways to make keto food more enjoyable. We’ve always had Hero brand tortillas and bread to minimize the sugar/carbs. This was first time trying the Real Good brand of tortillas, and let’s just say, hard pass. They’re spongy and chewy. Almost a rubber band “snap” when taking bites. Won’t be buying these again. Will try warming them on the cooktop next time but for a quick wrap with some Costco rotisserie chicken, and I couldn’t finish it. Clermont, FL Progression question1h agoHi, I’ve been following the 5x5 StrongLifts program for about 2 weeks now and I’m about to start my 3rd week. I started weighing myself again every Saturday and this is the results so far: 08-1-2026 — 108.4 Kg 10-1-2026 — 105.9 Kg 17-1-2026 — 105.6 Kg 24-1-2026 — 106 Kg I’m very strict with my diet: 2100 calories per day, no processed food, and at least 180–200 grams of protein daily. I also do cardio twice a week on my off days. Since I started squatting every day, I’ve noticed that my legs have grown a lot in terms of muscle and I do feel more flexible. From now on, I’m also measuring my waist circumference to see whether I’m actually losing body fat. What ... 130 calories for 50 balls1h agoI’m happy to have found these at Aldi today. I think they are delicious! Is this CKD or was it something else?1h agoMy 2 year old well, active, asymptomatic male cat \[neutered, previously on a wet food only diet\] went in for a routine check and was found to have severe gum disease. He underwent routine renal function testing prior to the dental procedure to ensure anaesthetic safety and was found to have high creatinine \[269\], urea and slightly raised ALT. The vet who owns the practice said this was the youngest cat she had seen with such a high creatinine value. His urine however was normal and did not have any blood, protein or altered specific gravity. He had repeat testing in 3 months time which showed static results hence he was diagnosed with CKD Stage 3 according to IRIS and prescribed renal di... Bringing Whey into the EU from the U.S.?2h agoHi everyone, I’m flying to Italy from the U.S. and was planning on bringing some whey protein powder and whey-based protein snacks. I just saw that the EU prohibits milk-based products from non-EU countries. I’m guessing that means I can’t bring my protein supplements with me. I just wanted to make sure that my interpretation was correct. I need tips on how to take care of this beauty2h agoI was gifted this a few days ago and I have no idea how to take care of it, when or how much to water etc. I read that roses need direct sun and my room doesnt get any I saw some nutrition supplements, can I use those to compensate the lack of sun? I have never taken care of any plants before I appreciate the help Next Steps after Positive Test2h agoHi r/SIBO, I (m26) am looking for advice on how to proceed after a methane-positive breath test especially when doctors remain skeptical despite a very clear symptom pattern. Test details: • Test: Lactulose breath test • Hydrogen: Negative (max rise \~18 ppm → reported as unauffällig) • Methane: Positive / IMO • Peak CH₄: \~17 ppm • Average CH₄: \~11 ppm • Baseline CH₄: \~6 ppm Medical workup so far: • Blood tests: normal • Stool tests: normal • Colonoscopy: normal Despite this, my doctor is reluctant to accept SIBO/IMO and hesitant to start treatment. Understanding the Role of Probiotics in Digestion2h agoYour digestive system is home to trillions of bacteria, both good and bad. When the balance between them shifts, it can lead to bloating, sluggish digestion, and weakened immunity. Probiotics are the beneficial bacteria that restore this balance, supporting everything from nutrient absorption to a healthy gut lining. Natural probiotic supplements are particularly valuable because they replenish bacteria that are often lost due to stress, diet, or antibiotics. They help break down food more efficiently, ease occasional discomfort, and keep harmful bacteria under control. All key components of digestive wellness. Not all probiotics reach your intestines alive. Many are destroyed by stomach a... Gallbladder or not?2h agoHi all, this one is a long one but im hoping for some help. So to start off, i will be completely honest - i had an eating disorder for about a year/year and a half. I would intermittent fast and eat low calorie. I'm talking 16 - 18 hours without eating, easily, maybe longer, and when i did eat... man. I think the worst was how many fake sugars i consumed, but i also ate a lot of processed energy bars, low calorie substitutes, and refined carbs. My hormones took a nosedive and i was pretty underweight. After a while, it developed into a binge eating disorder, I would mostly just eat more and more carbs(a whole back of bagels and then guilt-starve myself the rest of the day) or chew ... 🔴 Is Your Red Light Therapy Actually Working? 💡2h agoWe’ve all seen the hype: **Red Light Therapy** (RLT) is the ultimate biohack for anti-aging, endless energy, and rapid muscle recovery. But here is the science most people miss: RLT is the "Ignition," but Nutrition is the "Fuel." Think of your cells like an engine. RLT acts as the spark plug—it wakes up your mitochondria (your energy batteries) and tells them to repair skin, build collagen, and fix muscle tissue. BUT... if your body doesn't have the raw materials, that spark won't start the fire. 🔥 To get those glow-up results, you need the right Structural Stack: ✨ **Collagen & Vitamin C:** The building blocks for younger skin. ⚡ **CoQ1... Does Not Chewing Food Affect Proper Digestion or Muscle Gains?2h agoDoes Not Chewing Food Affect Proper Digestion or Muscle Gains? This might be a **** question. I’ve been training consistently for a few years and try to stay in a calorie surplus to gain/maintain muscle. Let’s say someone needs to hit their calorie and protein goals but is too full to finish a meal. If they basically “flush” the food down without water (minimal chewing), does that have any real impact? Aside from feeling heavy in the stomach, does it actually affect digestion, nutrient absorption, or muscle-building results in any meaningful way? I know digestion starts in the mouth—just curious how much it actually matters for these goals. Acidic/burning diarrhea?2h agoHi yall. I'm relatively new to MCAS, less than 6 months since my diagnosis. I am very careful with my diet and environment because I have still been reacting to foods, smells, etc. My dr initially started me on nasal cromolyn and LDN. This past week I started ketofiten and a P.E.A. supplement and we increased the LDN slightly. I have been having painful, burning/acidic-feeling diarrhea the past two days. Has anyone else gone through this? If so, do you just have to ride it out and continue food tracking? Also, I am in the southeastern US and we are having a winter weather situation, so I'm guessing part of it is feeling bad with the temperature change. country fried steak2h agonot sure what locations will have this, im in us and its currently one of their testing products. wednesdays only French food database2h agoCronometer seems to be the perfect nutrition app but, leaving in France, I wonder if it has enough data since it doesn’t seem to include a French food database. French people, what is your daily experience with the app? Does the Cronometer team plan to include a dedicated French database? Howards weight has been consistently the most cringe thing2h agoThe worst part of the show had always been Howard obsessing over his weight. The part of that…that makes zero sense is that Howard is so unattractive that his weight has always made zero difference to his overall look yet we have been forced to listen to him complain about not wanting ***** titties or an overlapping gut. You would think he is a woman watching Oprah daily and going through her struggle with her. What a feminine *** freak! On top of this Howard has always been pelican skinny and other than his early family days, never looked overweight at all. Then there is the fact that we had to always hear his eating habits which were always basically starvation. He talks about **... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
