Currently shopping for supplies for my first crested gecko and am doing research. I seen these guys at an expo and knew they needed to be my first reptile so now I’m here gathering information on what I need to buy to get setup and bring one home. I just obtained 2 emperor scorpions from PetSmart and want to know if there Healthy and what more I'll need for there set-up. (Before you go flamming me for getting a pet without doing my research they where a gift from my dad) the first two pictures are the smaller one (bob) and the other two are the larger one (Vincent). I’ve been cycling this 10 gallon tank for about 1.5 month months, and currently have a bunch of bladder snails (unwanted), a ramshorn snail, few other unknown snails and 9-11 cherry shrimp. The tank is for my grandpa (limited vision/dementia) and he’d like something bright and active. Background will be black soon to help him see the fish better. I walked out after being played with while meeting with my SL. I put my body and mental health on the line for almost 2 years doing dog food and the truck and cashier. It was prob one of the easiest jobs I’ve ever worked. I loved like 99% of my coworkers. I didn’t let the customers get me down or coworkers complaining get to me. I have a Siberian Husky. Just started his spring shed. I took him to Petsmart for the first time last year for when he shed his summer coat. The young lady did an incredible job. She said he was very compacted and I don't remember seeing much hair after that. She recommended I bring him back in a month. I wasn't able to due to cost. I've been doing the lighter grooming myself. He probably has gotten 3 bath and brushes since then. He can have dry skin so I have to be careful. wondering if anyone in the port st lucie FL area wants two neon tetras?. i got them as a gift from an unknowing relative and my 10g tank is full, i dont have the money to set up a new tank rn or buy more for them since theyre schooling fish i called to my petco and petsmarts and they all said they cant take them. theyre healthy and happy fish i have them with some danios for now but i just have no where to put them long term if anyone knows of a pet/ fish store in this area that will let me surrender plz let me know. thanks 🙏

any dog people out there (and maybe cat) need to check out a new store in hixon called hollywood feed. it’s truly so much better than your normal petco petsmart. definitely a change of scenery if you’re bored with the big box stores. plus they have a wash station for your pets for like $15.

I went to my local pet store for plants and left with two bettas three snails and plants. The fish I rescued was in a sorority previously and she was the only survivor. The girl I rescued her from thought she was dead& when I pointed out her being alive she just said “I’ll let her die it’s fine” so of course, me being me, I immediately took the fish, tank and all. Please help find TJ. He was stolen from Petsmart in Santa Ana by the two individuals in the photo, on 01/26/2025. They even stole the carrier. I’ve been thinking of getting a Northern Blue Tounged Skink for a while now after my dad said no to a snake, I’ve done moderate research on them and their diet. They seem to have easy humidity requirements and heat requirements. I just wanted to see if anyone could help me with a list or important supplies that one would need to make a healthy enclosure for them. I’m going to be visiting a couple local reptile stores nothing like petsmart or petco lol. I just wanted to know what I would need to buy, like the different lamps, humidifiers, thermometers, hides, etc. I’d also want to know if I should get what’s recommended or a little bigger than what’s recommended for the enclosure ...

I got my gecko back in March 2024, and Arcadia products were readily available at PetSmart. March 2025, it was time to replace her UVB bulb, and it was difficult to find a replacement. The only Arcadia products you can get at PetSmart in Canada are the Jungle Dawn LED and a basking bulb. Luckily, I managed to find her Arcadia bulb. Now that the one-year mark is here, I’m finding it hard to find again. The store that had it last year is out of stock. I’m going to keep checking and hope they restock. Some websites have them, but the shipping fees are almost as much as the bulb itself! I’m wondering if the Reptisun T5 HO 5.0 would work. Is 5% UVB enough? If not, I’ll definitely buy ...

I bought a petsmart black pleco a little over 3 weeks ago, after 2 weeks had past i woke up to 3 dead fish. I tested the tank water and only my kh was a little off. I had changed the filter over a month ago. I dont think the pleco actually killed everyone, but was it infected? I dont have a picture of it, but it looked just like all the other black pleco at the store. Should I toss the tank water? I just dont understand what happened. I think i have a 30 gallon tank, and it was 2 goldfish and another pleco who were the same size as the pleco. The plants in the tank also began to wilt after buying the pleco. Did I do something wrong or did I buy the pleco of death and disparity?????

So I’ve been wanting a hamster for a while now, but I really don’t want to get one from PetSmart or Petco considering how they treat their hamsters and where they get them from. Is Zookeeper Exotics a better alternative? I hardly seem to find anything about them online. They have a Facebook page, but I don’t see anything for Syrian hamsters specifically although I did see a couple of gerbils and a Niteangel hamster cage. My only question is where they get them from. Do they breed them in store with reputable breeders or do they get them from the same rodent mills that Petsmart gets their rodents from? I recently lost my scorpion and wanted to do a full conversion on his tank as a farewell and fresh start. It was a living terrarium, moss, succulents and a few small plants.
