What is wrong with my Angel???

5h ago

I have had my Angel for a while now. I left to spend the night in Colombia SC for a concert, came back the next day and it looks like this! Anyone know what this can be? I took a water sample to PetSmart they said my water is good. My other fish are fine. I done a water change anyway. And I got some antibiotics from the store. It's eyes are looking a little better this morning. I'm freaking out 😭

Thought I’d share this stupidity

Trainer and outside business questions?

16h ago

I’ve had mixed answers from my peers/other trainers in the area so I thought I’d ask here :) Been the full-time trainer at my store for awhile now—and with ongoing clients with potentially reactive/just more complicated dogs I’ve been asked if I do work outside of Petsmart. technically…yes? though that was what I did before I worked at the company at all (just a small side gig while I worked in Vetmed essentially) and I’m just not sure what to tell folks? If that’s something I can even \*say\* to them without it being a conflict on interest. if anyone has any insight that’d be awesome :)

Youly Dog Leash

21h ago

Hey all! I found a brand new version of my nearly 16 year old dogs collar in a thrift store today and I'd love to find a new version of the leash as well. It's Youly and the back of the tag says The Wanderer. If I had to guess it came from Petsmart or Petco about five or six years ago (can't remember which - the location has since closed.) I've found the collar listed but not the matching leash (which we own so I know it's out there). I've attached photos! Any help is appreciated.

Dangerous pine based bedding being marketed towards hamsters!!

1d ago

So I work at a grocery store, and this is the only bedding for non traditional pets that we have! You might be wondering why I’m making such a big deal out of this, and that’s because to many people going to the grocery store for pet supplies might be more convenient and easier than going to the pet store. The reason why pine bedding is so bad for hamsters is because pine releases volatile organic compounds like phenols and aromatic hydrocarbons. These phenols and acidic fumes can damage a hamster’s respiratory system and cause wheezing or sneezing, as well as potentially causing skin irritation or liver damage. While kiln dried pine beddings like this one reduce this risk, it is onl...

Cat Water Fountain Help

1d ago

My cat’s current water fountain ***** and I need one that will work well that doesn’t have to be charged. I would prefer a battery operated one. I’m young and can’t really afford extremely expensive options, so something in maybe the $40 or under range. Something that can be bought from amazon or a pet store like petsmart

How to Help Shelter/Rescue Rabbits!

1d ago

As someone with a fair bit of experience with animal welfare, I thought I’d make a post about how people can get involved and help out rabbits! Rabbits often don’t get the same level of care, attention, and donations as do cats and dogs in animal welfare settings. At the shelters many of them have very few rabbit/small animal volunteers if any, compared proportionally to the amount of people who help out with the dogs and cats. Obviously people here are going to care so I hope this can inspire people to help out :) sorry if it is a bit long! 1. Volunteer Depending on the org there will be different roles related to rabbits. First make sure the shelter takes rabbits in the first place!...

Advice needed regarding PetSmart Dog Hotels (Ontario, Canada)

1d ago

We have two pups (14 months and 6.5 months). We've just had an unexpected obligation Pop up and our regular doggie daycare folks are not available to watch them for an entire day. I see that some PetSmart Canada stores have an option for doggie daycare and/or overnight care. Other than spending entire paycheques at PetSmart for all dog things, I've never used them before for daycare. Does anyone have any experience using them (good or bad). I wouldn't forgive myself if I left them somewhere that wasn't safe. Thanks for your input and advice. TL;DR: PetSmart doggie daycare - good or bad?

Am I cooked?

I've been really reluctant to post here but I could really use some advice. Sushi is 2 years old and while technically my 8 year old's pet, my baby. -5 gallon tank -heat around 78°f -Amazon sword is about 6 months old *planted after anaubis died off?* -amano shrimp introduced 2 months ago *teenager brought home a zip lock with like 40 from a biology teacher, a dozen remain that have dodged sushi so far* -moss balls added a month ago -now have ramshorn snails? -possibly "seed shrimp" too? I'm worried I ruined the tank trying to "improve conditions. My initial planting died off and I had a horrible algae problem. I replanted and added drift wood. However, I th...

What size inflatable cone do you guys for your weens?

1d ago

My boy just got neutered Wednesday. I tried the inflatable cone from PetSmart in a size small at first but quickly realized he could still reach his incision. So I went back to the store to get a medium and lo & behold, he was still able to reach it with a medium. So I opted for the recovery suit instead. That worked for all of 48 hours before he chewed a massive hole in the chest area and now it’s useless. I don’t want to use a traditional Elizabethan cone because he intentionally smacks his head into walls trying to get it off. So what size inflatable donuts are you guys using? I fear the large would be too big but I’m not certain. I’m stressed and just need to keep him pro...

Can you help me identify? Bladder or NMZ?

1d ago

So it happened still cycling my tank buying a few plants every pay period & this week's set came with hitchhikers. I thought it was 3 ramshorn, with them being so tiny I was nervous about just letting them loose in my tank. What if they died, would I ever be able to find them? Would it cause a spike keep in mind I have no other fish, shrimp in here RN. So I bought a breeder box from PetSmart cheap POS, the net literally came with a hole in it, but it was late and the store is 15 miles away so I just sewed it up..I was worried about them not having anything to suction onto so I put in a small hide & some magnesium rocks. Anyway today while checking on the little dudes I m...

Having sudden bad luck with my Cory’s.. down to two.

1d ago

To simplify the history of my tank. I have a planted 22 gallon long for 13 months. I keep the tank at 77/78 degrees. Lots of plants, caves and drift wood. I originally started with a betta, then added a mystery snail, when I noticed how afraid my betta was of my snail, I took a leap of faith and added 6 albinos (petsmart, day of arrival, I now know they are not the healthiest) 2 died within 24 hours, the other 4 flourished in my tank for 9 months. A pest snail mishap killed my betta and one of my Cory’s. I was devastated. I reluctantly added a new betta and though he sometimes gets close to them when eating, seems to leave them alone for the most part. I then added 4 new albinos fr...

How long is too long?

2d ago

I **** making this post because I know all the answers but I just feel like I need some reassurance here. My girl is ~5 years old (rescued at ~2 ish and I’ve had her now for 3 years). I’ve always prided myself on having a non-picky eater but she is going on 5 months now without eating. She was around 2300g (just shy of 5ft long) eating 1 large rat every 4-5 weeks. She had never in the past been picky about the color of the rat but she’s very sensitive to heat and needs the rat scorching hot, and she won’t eat when she’s in blue. She’s still acting super normal (when she first started her hunger strike she was super active every night for about 2 months, which was different for he...

Does it get better?

2d ago

Hi there! I’m a recent associate hire and I just want to rant about my experience, i apologize if this goes against sub rules I want to preface that I don’t blame the employees for my experience, however the manager could have done better managing… anyway, I know I’m still new and have lots to learn but the experience so far has been interesting to say the least. I have lots of history regarding customer service and retail, so i understand the ins and outs of work flow. But man, petsmart, you are truly different from the rest. To start off, on floor training at first was fine, but after like two days it seems that I’ve been thrown into the wolves. I didn’t get enough training/...

Can I give a tip

2d ago

I bring my dog to a PetSmart store for training and grooming. I **** the groomers, But the trainer is my favourite human on earth. I know from grooming they don’t have a tip option at check out and I never see people give them tips. With this all being said I would have never survived puppy stage without my trainer and I want to give her an end of year tip/ gift as well as a a tip/ gift when my dog is done all of his classes. I’m worried I’ll get her in trouble if I give her something. Is there anything in the policy against this?

Hi everyone, I posted about this when the Colorado AG sued the company for their use of TRAPs and want to share this update now that a settlement has been reached. Below is a copy-paste of the press release the CO AG put out: Nov. 13, 2025 (DENVER) — Attorney General Phil Weiser today announced a proposed settlement with pet care retailer PetSmart resolving allegations of deceptive training programs that prevented employees from leaving the company for years, or risk paying thousands of dollars. PetSmart, which operates 35 stores in Colorado, promoted the entry level Grooming Academy program as “free” and “paid” training to their employees via ads and internal promotional materia...
