I no longer want to buy bettas from chain pet stores. Both of my bettas were bought from Petsmart and were constantly sick and didn’t live very long, despite me making an effort to choose the most active and healthy appearing fish. What I’m looking for is a reliable breeder or seller who takes great care of their fish’s health. I know bettas are inbred like crazy for their fins and colors and that health issues are part of that. I don’t have a preference for colors or fin types, just whatever happens to speak to me you know? Are there any Petsmart Salon managers that can help me answer this question about policy. I am a new groomer and just barely hit 100 dogs. My store manager is scheduling me to open by myself with another (New) bather. I don't feel comfortable grooming without another superior groomer to help if needed. Just curious if anyone knew what policies there were in place for this.

I get off in two hours, I have a 5 gal i can fill up to put one in. but my store (i work for my local petsmart) has free bettas up for adoption because theyve been on the shelf for too long. Both male, one Samurai (mostly white) and one Dumbo Halfmoon (red and blue). Which should I get? I’m so indecisive but unfortunately I can only house one.

I'm really hoping I can get some help here. I bought two hermit crabs yesterday. I spent about an hour in the store doing research on the things they offered. I bought some wood and a few extra shells. I didn't get a sponge or the thermometer, or any of the food because everything I read said it was bad for them. Coming to this with a question - I am seeing conflicting information. Some posts say to have males and females in separare tanks, and some are saying females are necessary to help with male aggression. Personally, I’ve had guppies for about a year now in a community tank with both males and females, lots of them! So many, we ended up giving them away to someone at a local aquarium store. i really am at a loss. we got new management at my store recently during the restructure. ever since, the animal care has become vastly different. store leader and other managers are condoning reptiles to be put in the enclosure on the sales floor way over policy guidelines. 8 bearded dragons had to be adopted out due to injuries sustained directly from this issue. all had to had limbs amputated from nipping eachother. they had 7 bearded dragons in an enclosure. 5 is the maximum according to p&p. 6 leopard geckos in the small enclosure. that is double the amount that is supposed to be in there. when i address it i am told “all pet parents have different opinions, you’re titled to...

Hi, I recently finished aqua scaping this 5 gallon tank on my desk. I’ve added de-chlorinator and some beneficial bacteria. (the stuff in bottles at petsmart and local fish stores) Though, it’s still cloudy and I wanted multiple people to tell me if it was safe for fish. (ps i already found pest snails and they seem to be thriving)

Tl;dr because it turned into a ramble: Please give me any advice and your best recommended tools or supplies for speeding up desheds, ESPECIALLY on the long, thick coated breeds like Samoyeds. I am really struggling with deshedding as a now full time solo groomer. I learned deshedding at PetSmart as a bather and didn't like them but did well enough. Not really a huge problem but half the time I open the app, or put something in the search bar it randomly changes what ever grocery store I was in to PetSmart? I will be in the middle of ordering and the thing will change. It's not a huge problem as I just have to back out and go to the correct store again and I don't loose my place or drop any items from my list but it is odd. Yes I have ordered from PetSmart before, several times actually, but it keeps happening even though I haven't willing tapped the PetSmart icon in almost a year.

I used to work at petsmart in 2017, there used to be some cleaner which could be refilled at a dilution machine in the back. It had a really clean smell and I want to buy it, however, I cant remember which it was. We used to use it to clean bird and hamster cages if I am remembering correctly. Most prominently I know it was used in the oops stations around the store. Definitely wasnt Nature's Miracle.

Due to personal circumstances, I can no longer continue working at my current Petsmart location. However, I just finished Petsmart's grooming academy training not too long ago. So, what happens if I leave now? Is that $5000 fine for quitting before 2 years post academy still a thing after the company restructuring recently? I don't remember signing anything that stated as much, but I'm sure there's some catch-all I signed when I was hired. And if I got a transfer to another store and finished my 2 years there, would that be allowed? (assuming there would even be another store hiring in my area)? I've called every pet store and pet supply store and asked around in Ottawa and Gatineau and I cant find anyone who is selling fancy mice. Does anyone know why, or where to adopt/buy in Ottawa? Update edit: I managed to find someone on Marketplace who needed to rehome hers. But yes like folks said it seems Canadian PetSmart doesnt carry mice at all and most other pet stores I called dont sell them. I could only find someone selling them as live feeders but the website was confusing.

Posting this for all the dashers out there as a heads up that this could happen to you. Last time I Dashed was July 7th, I had a good day making $178, accepted what was going to be my last one at PetSmart. Go to the store get all the items checkout and get a call by the customer to cancel. I then contact support tell them the customer wants it canceled. So I return the items get the receipt and send it to the email I was told to and complete all the steps.
