PETSMART Locations

So I have an interview tomorrow and it seems very likely that I am hired. As an animal lover, I'm nervous about a few things: 1. Do you witness animals in the store being mistreated/in improper conditions often? Seeing this would sadden me deeply, and I know chain stores tend to do that a lot with their animals. I have no idea how the conditions would be there. 2. What happens if I check out someone who's clearly not gonna care for the animal good, but I can't do anything about it? Example: little kid with a plastic hamster cage, or a tiny fish bowl 3. Are most of the staff young at your petsmart, older, or all ages? I guess that's all my concerns lol, I **** seeing...

I know pet stores like Petsmart don’t care about their bettas and keep them in terrible conditions. I’m not against the idea of getting one of those, though I know it comes with added risks of health problems. I’m looking for a place I can get a betta that’s ethically bred and taken care of as best as possible before I bring the little guy/girl home. For context, I have a 10 gallon that’s been cycled and has had stable parameters (0 ammonia, 7.0 pH, 00 n nitrites, and 5 ppm nitrates. The tank is live planted.

my dog destroys toys in like 10 minutes. literally every toy. im spending $30-40 a month on toys at petsmart that last less than a week. everyone keeps telling me to get barkbox but its $30+ per month. seems expensive for a box of toys my dog will destroy immediately? do the toys actually last longer or am i just paying for cute packaging and instagram content lol also the treats - are they actually good quality or generic stuff i could buy cheaper at the store genuinely trying to figure out if its worth it or if im better off just buying tough toys in bulk from amazon

I know the pH is astronomically high, but not sure what to really do about that, used Fluval Cycle yesterday in addition to API starter for the past week. Petsmart said everything was fine but nitrites and ammonia were a bit high, but said the nitrates were pretty high, and to get a couple fish and it would be fine to stabilize the tank. We did not get fish. So we went to a indie store and they said nitrites/ammonia were higher than they’d like but midcycle to be expected, and recommended the fluval cycle for a couple days and we should be good but specifically said they would not sell us fish without lowering the pH. I used to keep a ton of reptiles and invertebrates back when I still lived in germany and now that I'm living here with my wife she REALLY wants to get into the hobby of exotics keeping I avoid chain pet stores like petsmart and petco like the pest because of their bad husbandry (and other issues I ethically cant see past) so I'm trying to find small local pet stores or maybe even private breeders that sell locally! I’m so disappointed to learn that my cats favorite food and the only kind that helps his stomach is discontinued. I got him as a baby and he immediately had Diarrhea. The vet even put him on prescription food and that didn’t do anything. I was about ready to give up when I heard someone saying grain is bad for your cats or that my cat may have a special Intolerance. I want to create an indoor pond type set up for either tropical fish or goldfish. I don't want to get a stock tank, I would rather use an extra large ceramic or plastic plant pot. I am planning on live plants but am a bit stumped from there. I am going to have a filter, I will just need to find one that will fit on a round pot if I go that way (maybe a sponge filter?) I have a disability that requires me to have a set schedule. I have several doctors notes from two different doctors stating this. It's listed as a reasonable accommodation under Petsmart's ADA policies. And yet I have been denied this accommodation multiple times by multiple people, in two different stores, over the course of several years. Hey, all. I just got a new ten gallon tank off of FB Marketplace (and just made this account for help lol), and I was wondering if I could use a Topfin Bettaflo 5 in it? The tank came with a topfin silenstream 10 filter, however im worried that it will be too strong for my future betta. The only pet store nearby is PetSmart so if there are any other reccomendations of filters that they have, please let me know!

Im 20 and my cat is just around a year old neutered boy. Im in the US and I live about an hour drive away from anything other than grocery stores and truck stops. When i adopted him from petsmart his adoption papers said not to worry about his eye but im very worried about his eye. He came from a humane society, i called them and sll they could tell me was he came from a bad home.
