TL;DR: My parents adopted a husky/malamute mix puppy and refuse to train him properly. My step-dad uses punishment, ignores boundaries, and rejects crate training. The puppy is now 5 months old, 40 lbs, overstimulated, destructive, and unsafe around my cat, senior dog, and 4-year-old niece. I can’t fix this alone and have no authority in the house. I’m in the process of adopting another hamster as I came across the cutest baby having to be re-homed. He’s 1.5 months old, so I guess right at that 6 week minimum. The only problem is he is about 2 hours from where I live. Is this generally okay or an issue? I’ll be driving on the freeway as well so I’m worried it will be a little noisy and bumpy for him even if he’s in a good carrier. What do you guys think? I’ve never had to drive so far before, my other hammy is from a pet store (trying to learn from my mistakes)

I’ve got several projects around the house that I’ve been wanting to do for a while but I’ve been extremely busy lately. I also have a mini van that I would need to remove the seats in to haul wood, which is a pain. I know big box stores like Home Depot will deliver but I question the quality of the wood they would supply. Do local lumber places deliver? I’m not doing anything too crazy. A hall tree, some bookcases, some shelves, so I don’t need anything exotic.

So I've had my male mouse Dante for a while. I was gifted him as a gift from a friend who I believe got him from the pet store, he came some female mice for a little while as well that I got with him but I ended up giving them to different friend who has owned ferrets and rodents since she was younger, so she is a little bit more equipped for multiple. I went to the store and when I came back my dog squealed when I pet him. He has a limp on his back left leg. His first vet appointment went pretty well considering we didnt have to amputate his foot. The pet store we got him from never addressed his stuck shed, so I bought him and took him to the vet. In a hospital tank for a week, some antibiotics and he will be on the mend 😁 they think he is roughly 5 months old, since hes so little. 73grams in weight, my little Lt Dan will hopefully not need to go back for awhile 😅

I have been looking forward to this recipe for a couple of reasons. One is that pasties are one of my husband’s favorite meals. The second is that I have had a 2 pound package of unrendered leaf lard sitting in my freezer forever waiting for me to get the energy required to make pasties or meat pies. Does anyone know any hidden gems or more local shops? Doesn't have to be stationary-only, just a section of a shop with good stationery selection is also nice. A lot of good variety art shops like Tempera are located close to citycenter areas only. I've rarely seen any good or fun stationary shops outside of Citycenter - the difficult traffic and bigger amount of louder people and tourists stress me out so I avoid being there too often if I don't have to. I have noticed over the past few weeks that my girl isn't basking as much and is hanging out by the heater. The water temp is about 75° and the basking spot is about 98°. It just started to happen when the outdoor temperature started to change. ** I know the water temperature is lower than the recommended 78°-82°. The person at my pet store (highly recommend for aquatics, reptiles, fish, and amphibians) said the water temperature isn't a huge factor as long ad there was a difference of 20-30° between basking and water temp.
