Hello y'all, I'm having a bit of an issue with my cat. My cat is a fixed male, an estimated 3 years old, a former stray, I've had him for just over 4 months now, and is of course FIV+. He's been having an issue with ringworm. He had no obvious skin issues when I first brought him home, but after about a month or so several small, crusty patches appeared. They did not appear to bother him, he did not scratch them, and he let me tough them to take pictures, though one of the patches did get bigger over time and appeared to bleed. I’m a federal worker and signed up for PSLF as of this past year. As you can imagine, even with a Master Degree of Science and previous work experience, I only net 52% of my gross income. So as a Grade 7 this past year, I only netted around $26k as my gross was about $49k. My extremely cheap rent and vehicle payments add up to a little over $15k/yr. Hello! I am building a pet door for my 2 outdoor cats who currently have access to a heated shed. Their food and beds are in there, but unfortunately this does mean many raccoons and other creatures are interested as well. Right now it's just using an open flap. I know that there are already microchip doors on the market but have heard of some reliability issues. How would I go about using an RFID sensor with a controller to make a door that only unlocks with my cats' microchips? Power supply is not an issue.
