Because it is the point where a society quietly converts *power* into *space*. It determines whether prosperous neighborhoods are open or closed, whether housing scarcity is legally mandated or legally permitted to be solved, whether cities grow up or out, whether people can live near their jobs or must drive an hour from the periphery, and whether local democracy functions as honest stewardship or as an elaborate gatekeeping mechanism dressed up in the language of community character. >The boringness is the disguise. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like ... Zoning: Much More Than You Wanted to Know3h ago>So why is zoning “the most important issue nobody cares about”? Something about Bubble4h agoDo we think that Bubble is gone? For me kind of. It's hard to tell if he got deleted with Caine or not because we don't see anything happen with him (he leaves before Caine breaksdown-) Althought if that's the case, that Bubble is gone, he might've been part of Caine's AI or something. One of the thing that convinces me that he is gone is that after Caine is deleted, there are no bubbles (theres 1 durning circus glitch scene [it kind of glitches too] but after that, theres none) 2nd thing is that he dosent appear in the credits. (Same with Caine). Imo if it was only Caine being gone, Bubble would still appear, but he dosent (Where in all other episode credits th... Is there a small crafts/ trinket/ artists market in Paris?4h agoHey dear travelers! Next week I'll be in Paris and I'm looking for a store/market/event where small independent artists can sell their crafts and trinkets. Like a hobby market :) where people sell their small ceramics, their selfmade necklaces, y'know. I like supporting small businesses c: Thank you and I hope you all have a nice, sunny weekend! :) I am fascinated with high prices of apartments in Hong Kong, it doesn't make any sense to me.4h agoFirst of all, I know, its supply and demand, thats no1. But I dont understand why is there so much high demand there? I understand for example 30 years ago. HK was so much in front of mainland Chinese cities, going to work in HK would make you so much more money. But thats not the case anymore. Just next to HK is Shenzhen, with salaries as high as in HK, only much more affordable accommodations. Then someone would say "oh but HK is a financial center" , well yes, but how big of a demand is for that? Out of 4 million people able to work, how many of them work in finance? Most of them work blue collar job. I did some research and I dont understand how people pay rent who work in a... Online Sub Orders Not Made? POS System?4h agoWorked at Publix 6 yrs full time (grocery) not deli. Just started ordering subs online about two years ago, and after maybe 50 subs paid for in advance I would say less than half were ready for pickup when I arrived at the store, even with an extra 30 minute leeway. So if I order a sub for pickup at 7pm and show up at 8pm it’s usually not even started and they don’t have the ticket printed? Is this a common occurrence for anybody else? How does the digital system sort orders / print tickets? Also my sub orders aren’t complicated it’s usually their ultimate sub on white toasted with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion. Ha I built a mental health app for people with serious conditions — 30+ evidence-based tools, launching on iOS/Android so...4h agoHey r/SideProject — sharing my side project because I think it solves a real gap. MoodStead is a mental health tracking app designed for people managing serious conditions: schizophrenia, bipolar, BPD, PTSD, depression, ADHD, and more. Not a generic "rate your mood 1-5" app — it has CBT thought records, behavioral activation, injection site tracking, a Stanley-Brown safety plan, reality check tools, voice journaling, and AI-powered insights. Built it because I live with a mental health condition and nothing out there was designed for people like me. The web app is live. iOS and Android are currently in review at the stores. We're doing an early adopter offer — all fea... Two Months Without The Sun.4h agogrief is strange. it hides in ordinary places. i still look for you in every Reddit post, in every quiet corner of my mind, reaching for anything that proves you were real. i keep you alive in fragments of my memory, in the spaces where you used to be. i still cry for you. two months hasn’t eased the ache. some days are softer, almost convincing me i am moving forward, but then something small a song, a random person in the grocery store telling their partner “*it’s so hot and it’s not even summer yet,”* and I flood. nobody understands why I can’t look at the color yellow, or why I prefer the winter when i’ve always loved the sun, *or why i’ll never *... [Casual] Bulk buying habits at warehouse stores like Costco (Costco members / Canadian shoppers / anyone who grocery sho...4h agoHi r/SampleSize! Doing some independent research into bulk buying habits, specifically around whether quantity sizes at warehouse stores like Costco affect what people actually buy or lead to waste. Would love responses from anyone who shops at Costco or similar warehouse stores (Sam's Club, Wholesale Club, etc.), but all grocery shoppers welcome, the quantity problem isn't exclusive to Costco! 7 questions, fully anonymous, no email required, takes under 2 minutes. [https://forms.gle/XWCDGtVqHbCK5dEJ8](https://forms.gle/XWCDGtVqHbCK5dEJ8) Happy to share results in the comments once I have enough responses 🙏 Cooking like our ancestors for fun and learning a lot4h agoI started cooking through this old school cookbook mostly out of curiosity and ended up learning way more than I expected. Shoutout to whoever posted about it here a few months back, I couldn't find your post but I appreciate you for putting me on to something awesome. Every recipe is based around food that lasts without refrigeration, and each one includes a bit of history about where it came from and why it existed. It’s basically how people fed themselves when grocery stores, fridges, and constant resupply weren’t a thing. I’ve been trying a couple recipes a week just for fun. Some are pretty unusual by today’s standards, but it’s fascinating to see how much thought went ... He's ******* gone4h agohe's missing from the ******* credits He’s really gone.4h agoYDKJ On Mobile?4h agoHello everyone. I’m not sure if this question has been asked before, but I was looking up how I could play YDKJ, the classic games in particular, and found that I could only play on Steam. I grew up playing the original games from the mid to late 90s with my mom and aunt, and would love to do so again. My issue is that none of us own a proper computer. My mom has brain damage from a stroke, I live with her to take care of her, and my aunt is too poor to own one, but we provide her with a phone as not having one in 2026 is more of a detriment than anything, especially for where she lives. With all of that said, I feel like it’s a bit of a missed opportunity to not have at least the classi... Unfairly targeted by an ON Coach4h agoI have been a Walmart associate for 20 years and have been overnight for the past 12 years. I have been working mostly the cereal aisle, HBA and Cosmetics since 2021 when the new process started. Near the end of 2025, one of our coaches, who used to be an overnight stocker, had been put me on the condiment aisle, which has some of the heaviest items. I had started with another person working with me, but she started putting me on the aisle by myself with a ridiculous amount of freight and laughably impossible stocking times (I'm the only female that any coach puts on the Grocery aisles). In the third week of January, 2026, my left knee had started swelling up and I could barely walk by... 🛡︠Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
