They could risk dangerous ferry rides across flood-swollen waters to reach distant hospitals. Or they could go without medical care entirely. The Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research (C-NES) found a different way forward. Their innovative solar-powered medical boat program now serves approximately 250,000 people across 14 island districts. These floating clinics, known locally as “Ships of Hope in the Valley of Floods,” combine ancient waterways with modern renewable energy technology. Each solar-powered medical boat operates like a complete hospital on wat... B.Pharm Students / Aspirants — Let’s Talk About the Reality of Pharmacy Degree in India!10h agoI’ve recently been exploring B.Pharm and honestly, it seems way more interesting than people usually think. It’s not just “medicine and chemistry” - it actually opens up a huge world of drug research, formulations, clinical studies, hospital pharmacy, pharma marketing, regulatory affairs, and more. Some things I’ve learned so far: • It’s a professional degree. After B.Pharm, you can register as a pharmacist and work in hospitals, pharma companies, or even start your own medical store. • It’s very practical. There is a lot of lab work, research projects, industrial visits, and hands-on learning about how medicines are designed, made, and tested. • The career options ... I’m Finally Getting Better Results!1d agoWhile I don’t put it past Big Pharma to screw us over by reducing the effectiveness of our meds, I do want to verify that not eating or drinking anything except water for 45 minutes before and after I take 20 mg of generic Adderall XR (from Amneal Pharmaceuticals) has made a big difference for me. If I’m sitting still after I take it, I can actually feel shivers when it’s kicking in. That happens after maybe 20 minutes, but I continue to wait the full 45 min before I have my coffee or Crystal Light (a citric acid drink.) (Note: I posted previously about how certain foods, drinks, and meds we ingest are are capable of fully dissolving amphetemine before it reaches our bloodstream.) M... What Was An Enslaved African's Diet Like in New Amsterdam?2d agoCourtesy of **Lower East Side History project**: [https://www.leshp.org/blog/what-was-an-enslaved-african-diet-like-in-new-amsterdam/](https://www.leshp.org/blog/what-was-an-enslaved-african-diet-like-in-new-amsterdam/)) New Amsterdam, established in 1626 as a Dutch colonial outpost on the southern tip of Manhattan Island, relied heavily on enslaved labor to build its infrastructure, farms, and defenses. While the Dutch are often remembered for their relatively pragmatic legal system—including permitting enslaved individuals limited rights—their colonization was undeniably tied to the brutal transatlantic slave trade and the sustenance provided slaves was not born of altruism, but of ... A Sri Lankan who stocks up on skincare whenever I visit India part 22d agoI ve already posted a haul in here when I visited India during September 😊. Dear friends, we need your help. The Citizens Generics vs. Branded Drugs Project is now LIVE! for your contributions. India is the "Pharmacy of the World," supplying 20% of global generic medicines. Yet millions of Indian patients remain trapped between unaffordable branded drugs and generics they don't trust. We're changing that through citizen-funded science. The question we're answering: Is your affordable medicine just as effective as the expensive brand—or are you compromising your health to save money? Our project analyses essential medicines across critical th... Our store sells only **seeds, fertilizers, cocopeat, grow bags, gardening tools**, and other agriculture-related items (India-based). But in the **Analytics → Summary** section, the “What people are searching for” topic list shows: * **Medicines & Treatments** * **Shampoo & Conditioner** * **Apollo Pharmacy** * **1mg** * **Ketoconazole shampoo**, etc. These categories have **nothing to do with our products**. So my questions are: # 1. Is this a problem for my product ranking or feed quality? Does this mean Google is misclassifying my s... Opening pharmacy store in India4d agoI’m a pharmacist. We have been in a relationship for almost 10 years now, and have been married for almost 5 years now. Before marrying her, I made sure she knew about our prospects of living in India and with my parents and the life she would have in an Indian household. We got married during Covid and I travelled against my family's wishes to marry her in her country with no one by my side due to travel restrictions and otherwise. She works from home (WFH) in IT (earns more than me), and i got my business to run which was doing well until i ran into financial difficulties for the last year and a half. ... Omadacyclin & lefamulin5d agoAnyone from US that can help me get Omadacyclin ? Is it available in all pharmacies in NY ? Do I need a prescription, from where can I get that prescription? Average cost? For lefamulin (lefabac, mulina), I tried to source myself from Bangladesh and Pakistan. As long as you have a prescription it can be shipped from Bangladesh but finding the person who can get that and send it to you is VERY complicated. My parcel is now transiting from Bangladesh to India and it takes ages because I don't have prescription as I'm based in France. From Pakistan (Lefaly) its even worse, I must take a flight to get them myself it seems. Need opinions.5d agoHey everyone, I’m planning to start an online medicine + wellness platform (similar to HealthMug / Tata 1mg / Netmeds). My bigger worry is quick commerce (Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart). If they seriously decide to push into pharmacy with 10–20 minute deliveries, it feels like: People will obviously prefer fast delivery They already have user trust + distribution They can burn money to capture the market My question: Do you think building a new pharmacy/e-health platform is still feasible, or will quick-commerce giants eventually dominate this segment too? Would love to hear insights from people who’ve worked in health, logistics, or startups. 186 DE Visa Work Experience5d agoHi Community members, My employer is willing to sponsor my Visa. Have both 482 and 186DE as an option. Qualification - Bachelor in Pharmacy (India), Master of Biotechnology (Australia) Current Role - Industrial Relations Officer Relevant Occupation - Workplace Relations Advisor (Grp B) Work Experience - 3 years My preference is to get 186DE and just move on in life. Due to not having a Relevant qualification, I have been advised that I still can get positive skills assessment with 3 years experience but VETASSESS will deduct the experience. My question is does the 3 years above still count for 186DE visa? Or it has to be after my skills assessment is completed? Would it be safer for me...
