I have updated this from the previous year. I will say now that I am no way of saying you should follow what I have to say to the T and that these are just what I believe what newcomers may expect and how to handle University. **Money/Expenses** Ok so a majority of students nowadays are really worried about money so i'll start off by saying that if you don't have that much money to pay for the year then **ITS OK TO TAKE OUT LOANS.** Granted its best to avoid them whene... THIS IS NOT A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD.13d agoAnd she’s ******* LYING about how she’s continuing to lose weight and keep it off. I will die on this hill. Getting this wet over a ******* burger or meal isn’t healthy, I’m sorry.. that “food noise” she said she conquered is a ******* lie also. Feeling Quilty15d agoSo last weekend, my son and I went to INO. I ordered our usual and paid the nice person at the first window. The girl at the second window gave me our bag and said "have a nice night" so I assumed everything was in the bag. I mean, INO ALWAYS gets my orders right and I never have any issues. When we got home, I was disappointed to find out that my son's food was not in the bag. I called the phone number on the receipt because I wanted to let them know what happened, and to expect me to go back and grab his food. Well apparently that phone number is for the customer service. I explain to the nice lady on the phone my situation, and she apologized for my inconvenience. She go... Hardee’s Big Hot Ham 'N' Cheese16d agoHardee’s Big Hot Ham 'N' Cheese is the best fast food sandwich and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise. The only exception I will accept is an In-N-Out Burger. FTM feeling guilty craving McNuggets on week 6 day 4.18d agoHi moms and soon-to-be moms out there! I wonder how you deal with sudden cravings. My morning sickness (more like all-day sickness) has begun since last Wednesday-ish, and I barely survived with a little bit of spicy soup, a little bit of sunjoy, and saltine crackers. Now I can barely eat any. But today, I crave Chicken McNuggets and In-N-Out burgers, and I feel so bad for craving something that's widely known as unhealthy. Don't get me wrong, I used to love those food before getting pregnant, but I have been trying not to get any fast foods. But I really oh so badly crave McNuggets. I can already feel I cannot eat as much as I used to because of my nausea. Has anyone eaten McNugg... In-N-Out C.E.O. Says She Is Moving to Tennessee and Opening an Office There23d ago"Lynsi Snyder, the chief executive of In-N-Out Burger, has announced that she plans to move her family to Tennessee as the fast-food chain establishes a corporate office there" "“I’m actually moving out there,” Ms. Snyder, who was raised in Northern California, said on “Relatable,” a faith-based podcast that discusses culture, news and politics from a conservative Christian perspective. (In-N-Out prints Bible verses in small print on its packaging.)“There are a lot of great things about California, but raising a family is not easy here,” Ms. Snyder, 43, said in the episode released on Friday. “Doing business is not easy here.”It’s a notable move for th... Second Visit to Las Vegas24d agoSo I visited Vegas at the end of June, and left on the first of July. I was down with 12 friends for a bachelor party, a few of us arrived a day early on Saturday June 28. Here are a few observations I had about Vegas, specifically in comparison to another bachelor party I went to Vegas for in 2013. First, as a table game player (namely blackjack) the table minimums and the odds of the game were horrendous almost everywhere we went. 50 dollar minimums at pretty well every casino on the Saturday night (granted, it’s a Saturday with a major UFC event, so it makes sense to a degree) but 50 dollars? Really? That’s wild. We found luck at circus circus and later Ellis Island, but generally s... How do you feel about Restaurant Hipsters?26d ago"I would never eat at McDonald's, it's too mainstream. Besides, everything there is objectively horrible." "I only eat local." "I only eat Italian food made by Italians. I only eat Mexican food made by Mexicans. I only eat Chinese food made by Chinese people. I don't want White people making my ethnic dish." "I can't decide between Five Guys, Jack in the Box, and In-N-Out Burger!" "If the pizza's not from New York, Chicago, or Detroit, it's garbage, and you're wrong for liking it." There's an especially dark and damp place beneath the floorboards of the universe for these people. Self-righteous... Ideas for a Simpsons-themed potluck food/drink menu29d agoThe neighborhood is putting on a progressive potluck kind of event. We get stipends to prepare food and drink for ~350 people. It's adults only and people sort of meander around the loop, picking up food and drink as you wish and socializing/meeting neighbors. The theme this year is Road Trip USA. Instead of the obvious "Deep Fried South" or Margaritaville combos that show up every year, the theme we were currently considering was "Springfield, USA." We'll be in the second wave, so it'll likely still be pretty "dinner" food heavy rather than sweets and dessert (probably takes frogurt off the menu). Menu options doing need to be full plated th... Food Chain’s I wish Laredo had. Drop yours in the comments29d agoIn order: In-N-Out Burger Cabo Bob’s Burritos (Like chipotle but better) Torchys Taco (Not real tacos, but cool vibe for drinks.) P.Terrys - Super economical and tasty Snooze - for breakfast Dimassi - My pick for a buffet. Mediterranean, which Laredo lacks. Never eaten most fast food39d agoNot sure what to flair this but Discussion seemed the best. So I live in Colombia, and the only American food place is a single Mcdonalds. My parents never let me eat there, cause its unhealthy and there are no Wendy's, 5 guys, chipotle, shake shack, in n out, Burger king, or literally any american fast food places here, so I am shamed to admit that I have only eaten Colombian only fast food brands (Frisbee and El Corral) Just wanted to get your guy's opinions on this Swarm of Bees44d agoThere's a huge swarm of bees at the intersection of Campus and Stanford. They're swarming the top of the lamp, and I walked right under just fine. I actually only noticed them because they cast a shadow on the sidewalk. Just something fun to look out for if you're walking that way - bee careful. Vegas Trip Report - June 202548d agoVegas Trip Report - June 2025 We were scheduled to fly out early Friday evening. Our flight taking off from the midwest was delayed about an hour and a half due to staff shortage. Before boarding, we called our hotel to let them know that we’d be arriving later than originally anticipated. Delay aside, our flight was great - complete with an upgrade to Delta Comfort+ with complementary alcoholic beverages! We booked a limo to pick us from the airport, make a couple of stops and drop us off at our hotel. But with our 1.5 hour flight delay, we weren’t able to hit up a Smith’s grocery store as originally planned for snacks, waters, etc. before they closed. We did stop at Super Liquor, ... Popular (and semi-popular) food places in Southern California48d agoThoughts on Heretic (2024)51d agoSorry if I'm late to this discussion, but here's what I thought of it. Spoilers, I guess? If you'd like to see more of my heavily ex-Mormon thoughts on any number of random movies, there is plenty of that at r/lookbackinanger. This movie has a few interesting things going on. What most attracted me to it is of course the fact that it portrays Mormonism; that doesn’t excite me in the same way that portrayals of Mormonism did back when I was Mormon,*1 but it’s still rare enough to pique my interest, and of course now that I don’t insist on all portrayals of Mormonism being exclusively positive, I’m open to a much wider array of ways to portray it and things to say about... Day 1-- holy cow!52d agoI just ate half an In-n-out burger -- my absolute favorite -- and all of a sudden my body just said, “No more, kid. Full.” This is a miracle! This has never happened to me in my whole life. A favorite food, suddenly not appealing? What the heck? Is this how normal people experience food? A Blast From the Present (ish): Heretic (2024)54d agoThis movie has a few interesting things going on. What most attracted me to it is of course the fact that it portrays Mormonism; that doesn’t excite me in the same way that portrayals of Mormonism did back when I was Mormon,\*1 but it’s still rare enough to pique my interest, and of course now that I don’t insist on all portrayals of Mormonism being exclusively positive, I’m open to a much wider array of ways to portray it and things to say about it and so on. And this movie does some additional good things. It leaves us, for a surprisingly long time, in suspense as to who exactly is the titular heretic: it could be Hugh Grant for all the obvious reasons, but Sister Paxton knows mor... In-N-Out to Remove Artificial Ingredients, Restore 'Good Ole Values' to American Cuisine59d agoIn-N-Out to Remove Artificial Ingredients, Restore 'Good Ole Values' to American Cuisine\ \ (Worthy Satire) - In a bold move to return America to its culinary roots, In-N-Out Burger announced it will be removing all artificial ingredients from its menu — including the ones that made you question whether that milkshake was really made from milk?\ \ “We’re bringing back the kind of food your grandma might’ve made — if she had a drive-thru and a team of teenagers yelling ‘Double-Double!’ all day,” said Chief Nostalgia Officer Patty Bunston.\ \ In addition to eliminating artificial flavors and preservatives, the fast-food chain promises to reintroduce ingredients like r... First time in Vegas (rundown)66d agoHello! Just wanted to share my first time Vegas trip details and all we did/ate etc. we arrived on a Thursday morning and took a taxi to our hotel-The Horsehoe. Wasn’t anything fancy but it was clean and room had all we needed for a weekend stay + a sphere view! We walked to miracle mile mall and ate at and drank at Flights. This meal was fairly reasonable and drinks were a good deal-3 for $15ish. Gambled at PH ($15 baccarat minimum was hot!) Walked around the shopping area in Paris, napped and went to The Lock speakeasy in horsehoe. Was a fun experience but at a 2drink minimum per guest it was $150. We then we to Caramella for dinner and it was underwhelming. The hotel did give us a free... 🛡︠Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
