Harris Teeter Locations

I sometimes see yellowfin tuna on sale at Harris Teeter. It’s all previously frozen stuff which can be bought in individually frozen steaks. However, it’s not marketed as “sushi grade.” It’s typically 10 to 12 bucks a pound. Question—I don’t dare eat it totally raw. But how about seared, where it is still basically raw in the middle. Any food safety concerns?

1) Harris Teeter. Total $116.90. Vic savings $23.08. Not pictured is cat litter. 2) Food Lion. Total $50.44. Savings $1.29 I only went to the second because I forgot beef stock and it was on the way home. I got caught up in the meat section 😔 everything was on manager special (I freeze it all anyway).

This only works in a major metro area, but so far it has been immensely satisfying. Costco has Doordash gift cards available for 20% off, and lets you buy $200 of them each trip. Doordash has a ton of grocery stores in our area, and makes it really easy to comparison shop for different items. Aldi and Food Lion seem like the best bets overall, but sometimes Harris Teeter has the best deals too. If you have Dashpass you can get no fee deliveries for spending $60 of credit, which you actually only paid $48 for. Prices are slightly inflated compared to shopping in store and you should tip, so I estimate the real world savings at about 10% once you factor in how much easier comparison shopp...

I have been a civil servant 17+ years; I have been excepted in past shutdowns, this has been my first time being furloughed. In the past, there was a level of confidence that things would work out, and unless there were pending personnel actions for misconduct*,* people knew they would *at least* have a job to return to after the shutdown. What are your performance in stores. It seems like dollar tree in my area barely has the items that customers want in my area. Food lion, harris teeter or Sam’s Club is the best. I can’t wait to see Walmart as I been seeing others already have it. Just not available in my zone yet.

A member of my household has a medical condition that means we are currently washing poop laundry extremely frequently, including both clothes and linens. I know the sub loves lipase for fatty substances, but is there a better/different enzyme I should look for for poop? Or is lipase the king of all organic messes? I’m currently using All Free and Clear plus hot water and two rinses. It’s removing visible mess, but we are having problems with some lingering odor. We do pretreat with unscented Shout. I moved here from IL. I know IL historically has better access to beef but what the ****. A chuck roast out here is $9.99, but in IL 3 months ago I bought it on sale for $4-5 a lbs, $6 a lbs off sale. Am I just buying at the wrong places? We've recently relocated from the south (TN) back to the area and it seems we can't find decent produce anywhere. It seems everything from A-Z is just sub par. - apples (mushy) - bananas (brown after 1 day) - cabbage (wilted) We've tried a variety including Harris Teeter, Weis, Giant, Wegmans, Whole Foods, Safeway, and Aldi but there's always something that's just complete 💩 If it was dirt cheap I get it, but when 5 apples run $12 I'm going to expect them to be in better condition.
