The rumors are true and it is a sad start to 2026 for our mates across the Tasman. EB Games has officially confirmed that all 38 stores in New Zealand will shut down by the end of this month due to ongoing losses. The New Zealand website will redirect to the Australian store by March but it is the end of an era for physical game retail over there. This follows a few store closures in Australia recently so people are naturally worried about what this means for the future of EB stores locally. Do you think the Australian market is strong enough to keep our 300 plus stores open or are we going to see a massive shift toward ZiNG pop culture and online only sales soon?

Today it was kind of hectic, especially being near the front. I arrived earlier, only around 40 people but then There was a massive crowd that squished up eventually. Took me back to some prior memories of crowds when international bands come to NZ. People were there for all sorts, Pokémon cards and older games were among the top picks from what I heard and saw. Wow, they completely removed any tradeables from the game. Used to get a standard pack on the day of reset, but that is gone. There are no standard packs in the store. Division rivals gives no TOTYs, league reward tokes are also wasted as there are no tradeables. They completely killed the game. Here I was, thinking that I'll spend my gems on the standard packs to increase my coin balance at least🥀🥀. The game's well and truly gone.

I never made a logo for a game before, so I want some guidance on what is important to keep in mind when making one! Of course, I did some research before making it and I believe I followed all the rules I could, but I'm sure there's obvious tweaks I'm missing. It's a horror game happening in a store (the store is called Starlight, of course), and the first logo is the minimalist one I'll use in-game. Since it's going to be the name of the game too, I want the same logo but with a pro/cinematographic effect. My #1 concern for me is that it doesn't show at all that it is a horror game...
