Yes, I know the bug has been reported here already, this is a rant! Not only the absence of footsteps puts me at a disadvantage, the non-stop reload sounds anytime and anywhere have me climbing the walls. After a week of this, it's become like nails on a chalkboard. I can't count how many times I have rage quit the game, win or loose, just because the sound was driving me crazy. And after a week, they haven't even acknowledged the issue.
