Whenever I'm talking to a capitalist, I always bring up how if \[Insert useless, overconsumption-driven, wasteful giant\] went out of business overnight, we would still have the same number of farmers producing food, the same number of construction workers building houses or roads, the same people could still be working in waste management, etc. But, if Forever 21 went out of business overnight, it would be terrible for the economy and the poverty rate would increase. I grew up going to this Mall …from the early 2000s through my teens. GameStop, Payless Shoes, Forever 21, BookOff, Wetzel’s Pretzels, the food court… this place followed me through so many stages of my life. I painted it because it felt unreal seeing it boarded up. Like… weren’t we just here? Curious what stores or memories other people still remember from these malls.

I tried (and failed) to claim the muffin tins that were just up, but I’m happy with my strainer and mandolin! The strainer was a “hmm let me just grab it so I can have something“ thing, but the mandolin was actually something I’ve been wanting to get to make salads and potatoes au gratin easier to make. Did you get anything? Just curious what I missed out on because I’ve only been checking here and there throughout the day. Been on a nostalgia kick recently and thinking about doing something YouTube related. Where was the Burlington at in the mall? By guitar center? Where was Payless? I think Forever 21 moved too. The big *** McDonald's with the playplace was where the like Dunkin and Veggie smoothie place is now in the food court? Spencer's and hot topic never moved, I know that. What was Ulta and Five Below back then? Was there even anything there? I only remember the main building of the mall.

I’ve been going to the for many years and recently just noticed that over the time the mall has gotten kinda messy Not dirty but there’s just a lot. for example the toys r us and old country buffet still sit there even part of the sears and the now closed Joann’s but everything just seems out of place the interior still has that abandoned forever 21 even abandoned food areas (whatever you call it) and I feel like back then the mall was way much organized. I still appreciate that the mall hasn’t became a “dead" mall.

They have 59 shuttered store fronts and 48 opened ones. Food court has 9/10 spots open. Most of the food spots there ****. Online directory still lists Chick fil a, American Eagle, Champs, Forever 21 and Claire’s. Those are all long gone Avrs furniture is gone. Half its elevators don’t work. All their escalators don’t work. Scene 75 is a boring mess and all their “200 arcades” are literally like 50 different games with 2 copies on each floor. I was thinking about past stores of Mapleview Mall. I'm 30 years old and these are the past stores I remeber from over the years at Mapleview Mall: Hudson's Bay, Sears, La Senza, PINK, M Boutique, Marciano, Decathlon, Teavana, David's Tea, Urban Planet, Forever 21, Le Chateau, Jean Machine, Danier, Michael Kors These are what I can remember.
