Introduction to the Role of Luxury Accessories in Modern Fashion2h agoLuxury accessories are the quiet architecture of modern style. A single, well-chosen designer handbag can refine proportions, unify palettes, and signal craftsmanship without overshadowing the wearer. In a capsule wardrobe, it acts as a high-impact constant—reliably elevating denim-and-knit days, tailoring, and eveningwear alike. This is why seasoned shoppers prioritize authentic designer handbag collections when curating pieces that endure beyond trends. What sets these staples apart is luxury leather craftsmanship. Italian tanneries and heritage ateliers emphasize full-grain leathers, hand-finished edges, and precise stitching that preserve shape and sheen. FYI on Skunk Cleaner Shrimp2h agoLong post, but worth the read if you own one and have experienced mysterious deaths in your tank recently. I’ve had a skunk cleaner shrimp in my tank for years. He’s done his job fairly well. I see him cleaning my gobies and clown all the time. If I stick my hand in, he’ll clean beneath my nails and around my cuticles. I honestly really liked the little guy. The first year that I had him, he was paired with another skunk cleaner, and they were a happy couple. It was fun to watch them together. One day, I found the other skunk cleaner was gone. Nothing was left of her, but I assumed that she died in a molt and that my other fish had eaten her. My params were excellent as this is an e... CMV: The expectation that every restaurant/coffee shop must be Instagram-worthy has hurt local food culture more than he...2h agoOver the past few years, especially in cities like HCMC, Hanoi, and Da Nang, it feels like aesthetics are prioritized over food quality, with many new places designed mainly for photos rather than flavor. Prices often increase to cover curated interiors, while portions and taste don’t always improve, and long-standing local spots with excellent food but no visual appeal get overlooked online. Menus also seem to grow more generic, chasing trends instead of showcasing regional or family-style dishes. Some of the best meals I’ve had in Vietnam were at simple street stalls or small family-run places with no aesthetic focus at all, yet unforgettable flavors. I worry that both younger diners a... I checked my “2026 money horoscope” as a joke and it accidentally explained why study abroad is so **** stressful2h agoI’m not even big on astrology. But this one hit a little too close. 2026 is the **Year of the Fire Horse**. Translation in real life? Aries Money will come fast and go fast. If You Were Investing in 2026, Which Franchise Would You Choose?2h agoWith how fast things are changing, costs are going up, tech is evolving, work habits are shifting. I’m curious what people would actually put their money into, looking ahead to 2026. Would you go for something essential and recession-resistant like home services, fitness, or food, or something more flexible and low-overhead? Are you leaning toward owner-operator models, semi-absentee setups, or something you can scale? Not looking for “perfect” answers. Just real experiences and honest opinions. If you’ve invested before or decided not to, what influenced your choice? And if you were starting fresh in 2026, what franchise would you seriously consider and why? What more can I do to get rid of this roach infestation & press my apartment complex?2h agoI live in a 1 bedroom “luxury” apartment in Atlanta. I’ve lived here almost 2 years and although the price is high ($1850/month), it’s always been very clean and modern with lots of nice amenities & safe. The apartment complex is huge. Many people come and go. This September I started seeing 1-3 German cockroaches per week in my closet only. Fast forward to about 2 months ago and I started seeing them often in and around my dishwasher. I had the pest control come but I have 3 parrots and they would not spray one chemical because they said it could be harmful to them. After a month it seemed to get rid of more adults but I spent all New Year’s Eve emptying my drawers an... Ideal city to live in when COL is not an issue2h agoWe’re in our mid-30s and have mid-8 figure net worth with 2 young children and considering having more. Ready to retire and considering places to live and raise kids. Things we value: - Opportunities for our kids (educational, activities, independence) - Socioeconomic and cultural diversity - Progressive culture - Good public transportation and walkable city - World class art and restaurant scene - Ease of travel to other places Places we’re considering and thoughts on them. Obviously there are trade offs with everything, and we’re torn on how to proceed: NYC: Lots of obvious pros. We absolutely love NYC and are based in the US so move would be easy for us. Cons include that there... If You Were Investing in 2026, Which Franchise Would You Choose?2h agoWith how fast things are changing, costs are going up, tech is evolving, work habits are shifting. So yeah I'm just looking for some friends to talk to have long conversations with, build a good connection and friendship over time. I need help/thoughts from those with more knowledge than myself3h agoI don't even know where to begin, but I need some food for thought. Long story (somewhat shorter): I had an uncommon called nissen fundoplication in 2021, which results in food being processed extra fast. As a result, I peak probably 25-40 minutes after eating (sometimes sooner), and come down from there. I have been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia. I eat very clean, saving (slow) carbs for last. I rarely rise to 140, typically no higher than 125. However, I come down in no time, and I "top off" between meals when I see anywhere between 90-100. If I'm in the 80s, I get anxious, especially the low 80s. I have multiple issues. 1) I am extremely OCD about my Dexcom ... DT (and area) restaurant recommendation for group of coworkers -3h agoHello! I’m in Denver with a group of coworkers this weekend (we’re from Canada). there are 9 of us in total, and we would like to have a team dinner this Friday Jan 23.. hoping to get some suggestions. The problem is it is a varied group with mixed taste… most people are pretty easy, but one person is celiac and the other is extremely picky. As in she doesn’t really like anything, she’s not familiar with… doesn’t like sushi, doesn’t really like Mexican either, Japanese, Korean, etc. To give you an idea… One person suggested doing a Brazilian steakhouse, and the other said they would be super happy with cheesecake factory lol. A couple of us, including myself, are usually m... Oops...(ACNH and the Moomins)3h agoSoooo...um...👀...uhhh...what had happened was...😅 I had a design spot and I was like, "Oh, I never use this design anymore." So I wrote over it to make the Little My sign (Swedish word for over/the end) from the Moomins. It turned out I primarily only used that design for Rosie's yard (it was like a pink, flowery grass design), and now it looks like I'm bullying her. 😱😭😅 I CHOKED when my game loaded up and this was the idle screen. AND Rosie is just chilling outside of her house with her seemingly graffitid yard. 🤣 And then later that day, she gave me a gift and said it looked like I could use it. It was a fast food worker uniform. 😬 I felt like ...
