Cornell ILR Chance Me2h agoMy dream school is Cornell ILR because I am genuinely interested in labor research. I completed 3/4 prerequisites (writing, science, math) except econ (enrolled for second semester) and completed an optional ILR elective. I’m from a family of immigrants and initially wanted to transfer to a place with more research opportunities surrounding brain drain. I’m in DC for political science and my experience has been very stressful. The standard of living at my university is very subpar. I have extenuating circumstances due to someone close to me falling ill (cancer) and I usually commute to take care of relatives (they tell me to focus on my academics instead). My first semester GPA is a 3... My Biggest Regret? Marrying Him. My Best Revenge? Un-marrying Him... from the Past.2h agoI'd been locked up for three years when I was scrolling through old forums and one post made me stop cold. \[do hs relationships even last lol\] Some girl was posting about the guy who sat next to her in class— How he'd gotten into fights for her, brought her breakfast every day, pinned his love letter on the bulletin board for everyone to see. But when I caught the date and the username, my stomach dropped. It was ME. Ten years ago. And that letter-writing boy? He's my husband now. He's also the one who chained my ankles to the bedroom floor. The one who scattered photos of him ******* some actress all over the room. I swallowed the sleeping pills I... Taking our evil advice- lying liar who lies2h agoLove how she is taking M's advice on letting the dog out, I mention how she hates to walk her dog and she has now "woked up" and decided they will start taking walks when the ice melts. Funny how were so "cruel" but you're taking OUR "evil" advice about making life BETTER for your dog. Strangers shouldn't have to tell you to TAKE YOUR DOG OUT. It just proves how LAZY you are! Someone mentions how the dog was wanting to go outside but you said no because it's too cold. So, because you're a lazy ***** instead of keeping him safe & walking him yourself on a leash you are just going to let him run around which is incredibly *****... Late Night NYE Food?2h agoBefore it's said, yes I did have a reservation tonight but only 5:30 was available so while delicious, we ate early. I'm visiting with my wife for our honeymoon and (after some new year's drinks) we've found ourselves still pretty hungry post-dinner! Our hotel is pretty close to Amalienborg, any food (fast food or otherwise) available in the vicinity for take-away or a quick bite? Appreciate any recommendations and happy to walk around to ask in-person if anywhere is still serving. Happy New Year to all! Ultra-Processed Foods2h agoIntroduction UPFs are defined as “industrial formulations typically with five or more and usually many ingredients” under the Nova food classification system (Monteiro et al., 2016). However, it is important to understand that to many — including most consumers — UPFs are synonymous with “junk food” containing unhealthy levels of fat, salt, and sugar. The distinction between the denotative and connotative definitions of UPFs is important to understand, especially regarding communicating the health and nutritional impacts of consuming this broad category of processed foods. • While Nova is the only classification system that uses UPF by name, other food systems have similar clas... Can you guys help me ( im homeless highschool student )2h agoNew Years Eve 2025, Trump Tells Nation To Have a Happy Thanksgiving2h ago“Tomorrow is a new year, and as we all know, 2000 years ago on January 1st, Christopher Columbus discovered The United States Of America, and immediately sat down and had a peaceful dinner with a bunch of redskin savages, who came into the USA illegally by climbing over the Mexico border wall — after dinner he immediately put them in chains. We call this holiday Thanksgiving. We celebrate the fact that Columbus enslaved these red skin Democrats and made America great again. George Washington, who was president at the time, was so moved by the enslavement of brown citizens, he made it a national holiday. I nearly forgot to address the nation about this glorious tradition of enslavement... 2025 Wrapped2h agoHappy New Year! Ate out a lot less last year but still found some great new gems worth mentioning. Made a [separate post for my Oz visit here](https://www.reddit.com/r/AucklanderEatsAbroad/comments/1q0ocix/2025_wrapped/) # Indian **Salt Mango Tree** The owners must have been ultra confident to open a regional Indian restaurant in Epsom. There's butter chicken for the occasional wandering customer but make no mistake, this is an unabashed, full featured Kerala restaurant. The dining space is also modern and ideal for groups and families. I've gone through 70% of the menu and it's all been excellent. There's a reason Wiens did a dedicated series on Kerala and imo, it... I’m curious Carrie since you owe SO much money on you “ room” how does the owner feel when they see all them packa...2h ago5 jobs in 1 year: why I don’t tell my employers Im autistic2h agoI have never been able to keep a job for more than two years. I am an autistic woman that was raised in a low income household. For the same reason why (work) is a nightmare, so was school. When I made it out of high school (just barely), it was like pulling teeth to try to get me to go to community college. Fast-forward 12 years, I have been in and out of different fields of work. Having gone from food, service, retail, sales, call center, hospitality, device repair, and now operations in the healthcare industry, the sheer burnout is becoming more and more apparent. I have had to work to survive, and up until lockdown (Covid) I was able to mask really well and power through it. Now it ... You die, I die.2h agoCrazy together? Hear me out. I posted this a bit ago but here's one with more evidence. Dustin and Steve are bylers (think about their fight, think about Dustin's arc so far, getting bullied, feeling like his friends have left him, feeling like he's the only one who still believes this matters). r/byler is the telemetry tracker, the demos are Mike's queerness. Hopper tells them to stay at the church (RELIGION) but Dustin says **** that we're going to the lab (SCIENCE), Steve doesn't want them to go. The van is S1-S4 (We don't need all that now! It helped us get here, but we need to move fast. We don't have time for a rewatch), Beamer is S5V1... My Mom wanted to file a complaint at a Family Restaurant because the Waitress was wearing too much make-up, stating it &...2h agoLittle backstory - My Mother went to go eat with my Dad at a local family diner style restaurant. Lots of greasy gut bomb food with a home-like vibe, you know the type. Everyone feels comfortable and it's a place where everyone knows all the workers due to how much they frequent etc. The moment she came to me and looked ticked off, I couldn't help but think "What's she so mad about..? Something horrible must've happened when she was out and about." So she goes on about how for a few weeks the Waitress that they talk to often when they eat there, was, 'quote on quote' "Wearing too much make-up this time and the smell was too strong that I couldn... Replace habits [Inspiration & Motivation]2h agoBest Restaurant Options for an Upscale Evening with a 6 year old in tow2h agoHello Greensboro! I'm a Durhamite who will be in town for the evening to see a show at the Wellspring Theatre in March. It also happens to be my husband's birthday, and we will have our 6 year old with us. The hubby is a chef and I am ex-hospitality, so we love good food. Our 6 year old is well behaved and cultured, but she is still....well, 6...and prone to being picky. I want to find a nice restaurant for dinner before the show that will make us all happy and where having a 6 year old won't ruin the vibe for other patrons. I was looking at Gia, Machete, Green Valley Grill, and Print Works. Some of them look like like they would suit the grown up palates and vibe, but ... Restaurant Wedding Venue for 35 people?2h agoLooking for a historic-type restaurant that servers amazing cajun food that can host around 35 people. I would like to do the ceremony and reception in the same place and it be less than $150 per person. 50 [F4M] #Seattle #Anywhere - Plump and neurospicy for smart and kind2h agoHey y’all, I’m looking for a smart and kind man for long-term partnership. I’m childfree and likely in menopause (no period since May 2025). I’m neurospicy (likely AuDHD) with strong intuition and a fair bit of wisdom about life and people. I do best with other neurodivergent people. I’m introverted and value my alone time, yet I’d also like to live with someone who wants to share a household where we have both alone time and time together. I have two goofy dogs. I don’t much care what you look like, but I care what you are like: smart, kind, good energy boundaries, care about the world, people, and animals. If you’re doing something that’s good for the world, so much the ... The best....3h agoDoes your family ever have a problem with your saving and spending habits?3h ago\* I just realized this is more of a rant or story time after writing it but the question still applies\* I (19M) am in the Army and have been able to save a ton since joining 2 years ago. After graduating HS I had about $1000 saved from working at Chickfila. Based on my current situation, I’m on track to have saved $100K (Through TSP, a brokerage, Roth IRA, and HYSA) by the end of my contract in late 2027. I budget for about $1000 a month to cover my main expenses and put roughly $2750 a month into savings and retirement which leaves me with around $500 a month in extra money. I don’t need a ton or always want a ton so I usually just put that into savings as well. I’m currently on ... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
