I thought it was worth mentioning. FORGE price-floor optics1h agoGrok- The pullback was still driven by the FORGE price-floor optics, not a misunderstanding of the funding. The $70B lending-cap increase (from $135B to $205B) plus the explicit $100B deployment target for critical minerals/nuclear/LNG is one of the most explosive positive developments the Western critical-minerals sector has ever seen — and the market knew about it when it dipped. Here’s the updated timeline and mechanics (Feb 2–8, 2026): * Feb 2: Project Vault — $10B EXIM direct loan + \~$1.67–2B private capital (GM, Stellantis, Boeing, Google, etc.) → $12B decentralized U.S. Strategic Critical Minerals Reserve. Everyone told me they had fun, so I count that as a success. However, I'm having some second thoughts about how I handled the Myth(s) and was hoping for some feedback/advice. The Knights arrived in the realm and galloped to the nearest holding, encountering the Dove Knight. I rolled on the personality table and got 'cynical' and 'animals,' so I roleplayed her as aloof and more concerned about her menagerie of doves, than the happenings on the other side of the hills: land she deemed "outside her purview." She did, however, clue the Knights in on the nearest Seer and news of dying lands t... My ants are moving to much what should I do?!1h agomy chestnut carpenter ants are moving alot when I check on them even the queen:\[ I'm scared what if they die? what should I do? did I feed them to much suger??? and I can't put any food in their test tube because they are running to fast and distressed! I turned 25 yesterday and nothing special happened and that was the point1h agoI turned 25 yesterday. Most of my family wished me. Some didn’t. Almost all my friends did and honestly that surprised me more. A lot of people at work don’t even know it was my birthday. And weirdly… I was fine with that. Birthdays used to feel important. Now they feel optional. Not sad just different. More like a small luxury than a milestone. I didn’t throw a party. I haven’t for four years. After college, life got expensive and priorities changed. For a while I couldn’t even spare basic money, so simply being able to go out and pay for food felt like an achievement. [SF] Children of the Sun1h agoChildren of the Sun By Carter Braune ACT I THE DAY THE SKY BROKE The sky screams before it burns. Not the scream of animals or storms or anything that understands fear— this is metal tearing through air, a sound sharp enough to startle birds from trees and send grazing animals crashing into brush that has not hidden from humans in more than a hundred thousand years. Clouds split. Fire follows. A capsule the color of old bone punches through the atmosphere, heat rippling across scorched plating. It shudders violently as stabilizers fire in short, controlled bursts, correcting a fall that would otherwise be fatal. Below it, the world is green. Too green. Forests stretch to the ho... Hey! If you’re about to make a post asking which bat to buy, here is PSA with some helpful links1h agoIt’s that time of year again, and a lot of you are here for advice about a new bat for your kid. After seeing a few of these posts I thought it might help to give some general advice, and if others want to add to it in the comments, please do. No matter what bat you choose, getting the correct size for your player is the most important thing. You can find bat sizing charts online, and in my experience you may want to err on the side of smaller and lighter than what those charts suggest. A bat that’s too big and heavy will kill your kid’s swing. I won’t go into every little detail here, but here are some basics you need to know: **USA bats:** Most recreational youth baseball league... It’s February and application season is closer than it feels. The personal statement is the part that gets way easier when you start early. If you begin now, you can write a rough first draft, let it sit, come back, and turn it into something an adcom would love to read! Some context about me so you know where I’m coming from: I’m a current med student and got a 526 on my MCAT. I tutored close to a thousand hours on med school application writing at my university and ended my cycle with 11 interviews and 7 acceptances! Here’s the main idea I've come to realize: your personal statement is not your résumé in paragraph form. It is not “look at all the things I d... In April I am going to Vietnam for 21 days and would love some ideas for things i should do while I'm out there. Thing I love to do : 1: Eating, any restaurant or just food in general recommendations would be great. I am trying the Brix in Ho Chi Minh. That's the only restaurant i know of so far. 2: Fun things, Mario Kart, para gliding and summer land I have booked already. Just making sure i haven't missed anything major that is so fun out there to do. 3: Activities, I decided to go to Sapa instead of Hai Giang Loop, not sure if this was a smart move however just thought I'd get more stuff done if i chose Sapa over Hai Giang Loop,... Caraxes stopped refusing food!!!1h ago(photo of the sleepy little man in question) I'm so glad!!! Caraxes always starts hunger-striking in the colder parts of the year, it's something I've gotten used to with him and his body score never really seems to suffer because he is lazy as all get out 🫶 He spent these last four months squinting disapprovingly at any dubia roaches I tried to offer him. He typically eats roaches no problem, but I guess the multiple bouts of rather cold weather this winter flicked that little switch in his head that made him decide dubia are an affront to his very being and deserving of the most scathing of rejection eye squints. It just goes to show how hardy these guys are - 4 months w... Do you guys know that Reunion might be closing?1h agoHeard from someone in the neighborhood that the rent went up and they decided to close. That’s annoying considering that they were usually busy, and after 2020 they had extra outdoor space that often seemed to be full in the summer. ***** because that means that even successful restaurants might not be able to afford rent increases and only high end places and chains would operate with those costs. Glad it's next to Weymouth and Quincy and has decent T access.1h agoI know I am going to be downvoted, but I currently live in Braintree and I don't like it that much. I am currently living with family due to cost concerns but hoping to move out when I am ready. I didn't grow up here (grew up in Boston), so I don't have any nostalgic trips about this town or anything. The town itself is fine, but it feels like a lot of events/activities here cater to either children or the elderly. There's not much here for a young single man to do except hang out around one's domicile, I guess. Or go into the city, but can't do that all time. I read the local Facebook groups and I knew this was going to be a boring place to live when all the... Fasting on Reta.1h agoHey guys, I’m a Muslim and Ramadan starts on Feb 17th. I was planning on taking some reta and just eating a huge meal after our fasting stops ( around 6-7pm) which isn’t necessarily bad timing but I’m just not sure if I will be able to withstand not drinking water and eating food till than. If it is untrue please share lol. "Yes, in 2014, [McDonald's](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-11-14/mcdonalds-bubble-gum-flavored-broccoli-doesnt-pass-muster-with-kids) developed bubble gum-flavored broccoli as a, ultimately failed, initiative to encourage children to eat healthier, as discussed in [this YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1NdEOhexrhY). The experimental product was not officially released because children in test groups were confused by the, as [CBS News](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/why-mcdonalds-created-bubble-gum-flavored-broccoli/)...
