I wanted to pitch this to Druski

8h ago

Idk if it’s a good idea anymore. But basically I used to work at this fast food restaurant “Arby’s,”. It was really disgusting place man meat made outta god knows what! Bugs in the drinks old equipment dude it was a really easy job. The real reason the job was so crazy tho was my coworkers! Dude so it was chaos the first time I stepped in they all smelled like dank. Mid shift leaving to go take shots!! My manager did hard in the bathroom!! Just so she could keep up with a few order that we were getting anyway. We constantly had to stop making so much stuff because they were taking all of it! But it was getting really bad once our coworkers started arguing with eachother they would fi...

I can't imagine leaving KL

8h ago

So I am working in KL. All my life I wanted to move here, but every jump was harder to do. From Perak -> Selangor was easy, but from Selangor -> KL was near impossible. And I'm happy with it. I work with liberal Malays. No compulsive need to inject GOD into every sentence. No peer pressure to pray. No policing of religious duties. But now I'm afraid. Maybe I can't move back. What if my next job requires me to be back somewhere in Shah Alam, or Pahang. Because this is it. KL is the most liberal place West Malaysia has to offer. It doesn't get better — only worse. Yes I can understand the local complaints - long commute, expensive food, expensive hous...

I am a political science student, so I have studied about feminism in detail in my first year of college during graduation. Before when I was 15, in the time of 2018-19, the website "Feminism in India" was there which I used to sometimes read. The website consisted of various articles from academicians, legal experts, social workers, writers and many more and it used to deal with various complex issues regarding women's problems in India. The website had it's own flaws but nevertheless it had educated people who had done research on the topics. Unfortunately, those days it seem to be long gone and now it seems like online feminism seems more on rage-bait content on some rando...

My Hermes agent

8h ago

I’ve spent the last few weeks obsessing over one goal: having a personal, self maintaining AI assistant that costs $0and can be controlled from my phone. It wasn't easy. I started with an AWS Ec2 with 50GB storage and t3.micro memory- minimal setup (using the free credits) and made Oracle Cloud instance ($300 free credits but just for a month so I used it for experimenting with local models) I was using Termius to SSH into everything from my phone At first I used OpenClaw. It was cool, but I spent more time fixing it than actually using it. I almost gave up until I saw a video about Hermes Agent. And i actually found Hermes while looking for how to fix an OpenClaw error on YouTube ...

Travel with my mum - suggestions?

8h ago

Hello! My mum and i are planning a trip to uk this July to the uk - at this stage we are tossing up between also adding on Scotland or Ireland but we set on some travel through the west ( Cornwall, etc) as neither of us have been to this area. Yes I know we've left it quite laqte to book - theres been some health issues so we werent 100% sure it was going ahead. Now that we know it is we are keen to get the ball rolling. Does anyone have any suggestions for must sees/dos? For context, my mum is in her 70s and is relatively mobile but is due for an ankle operation so long/difficult walks are out. I will also be 1 month post op (laparoscopic) so we dont want anything super strenuous or ...

[SF] Static

The Grid Buddy woke me up the same way he always did. Not with a sound exactly. More like a thought I couldn’t ignore, {Good morning, Aleon. Today we are going to review what you've learned. Tomorrow you will graduate and begin your service.} I pulled the blanket over my face. He waited and then repeated his instruction every few moments. Buddy was a complex self-programming algorithm or “CSA.” He was implanted in my brain and he was very persistent. I had never taken a day off. The lesson was the same as most mornings: component identification, soldering, circuit repair and the specific order of steps that Buddy had taught me to do with my eyes closed. When I got something righ...

Servers making no hourly wage— is this normal?

8h ago

Hi, I have interviewed recently with two restaurants in Miami Beach that pay less than minimum hourly wage, one was around $3 an hour and the other is $0 an hour. Both places have a mandatory service charge— the former 18% and the latter 20%, of which the servers keep *less* than half after tipping out bussers/food runners (and* *the actual restaurant takes a percentage of the service charge!) How is this legal? From my understanding, minimum wage in Miami is $11 an hour for tipped positions. I turned down the first job that was $3 an hour because it sounded illegal (or at the very least super shady), but then the next place I interview with pays literally $0 so this seems to be a common t...

Best part of the day

8h ago

After about 6 months of cycling I can't imagine my life without it anymore. Besides longer weekend rides, I commute on the bike too. It helps me prepare to the work, and also to recover after the day, since my job requires zero movement, and apparently my body needs it. I also lost like 4–5 kg, and will lose more hopefully. Yesterday finally got the courage to (almost) slam it, and it feels just great. Probably will also go with a longer stem eventually. Dialing the fit is hard, but I don't trust fitters — I believe if I asked 3 different ones, they'll tell me at least 4 different stories. The thing I **** is that my bicycle requires too much maintenance and repairs for ...

Barking from the Forest

8h ago

Hey, I don’t really know who to talk to about this, so I thought I’d just post my experience here. Maybe someone can help me out. First of all, hi. My name is John and I just turned 20. I live in a small town in the Black Forest called Alpirsbach. It’s idyllic, mountains, lots of nature and friendly people. I didn’t grow up here, I’m from a big city. I moved down here 2 months ago because I found a better job and of course to be closer to my girlfriend Alina. She doesn’t live directly in Alpirsbach, but a few villages away. We’ve been together for 2 years now and I visited her whenever I had time off. I always loved being with her, and now I can see her more often. We don...

Tipping at Mendocino Farms?

This restaurant has patrons order at counter, but staff brings out food to table. Between none at 30%, what is appropriate tipping in this pseudo fast food setup?

My AI agent delivered solid reports for months. I never read them until I switched the output from Markdown to HTML.

8h ago

I run an agent called Hermes at work every morning: mention scanning, timeline analysis, key account tracking, draft suggestions. For months, Hermes dumped everything into a Markdown file in my chat window. The data was good. The analysis was solid. I skimmed it and moved on. A 2,000-word wall of monospace text inside a chat window built for five-line messages just does not register with the human brain. I kept telling myself I'd go back and read it properly. Never happened. Then I switched the output format to HTML. Same agent, same data, same analysis. Hermes still writes Markdown internally (that's its source format, agents need that). But at the end of the run, one render ste...

8h ago

Hey guys, Slice is pushing their new UPI Credit Card hard right now and offering a ₹250 sign-up bonus. Usually, people just drop their links and pocket the cash, but I think that’s a terrible way to do things. Let’s split it. If you sign up using my link/code and make your first UPI payment, **I will UPI/GPay you ₹150 (60% of my bonus) straight back.** You get the app's flat ₹250 bonus + ₹150 from me = **₹400 total** for about 3 minutes of work. **Why bother with the card anyway?** * **The Micro-Rewards:** They are giving up to 3% cashback even on a ₹10 *chai* tap via UPI. It sounds tiny, but if you daily-drive it for street food and auto rides, it adds up fast. * **...

trying to learn actual restaurant Spanish phrases instead of random vocab

8h ago

I realized today that i know a bunch of random Spanish words, but if i had to actually order food in Spanish i’d probably struggle. like i can understand some vocab from videos and apps, but putting together actual restaurant phrases on the spot feels completely different so now i’m trying to learn more practical everyday phrases instead of just memorizing random words what are some restaurant phrases you guys actually use a lot?

Are restaurant reservations necessary?

8h ago

Hi! Traveling to Barcelona in a couple weeks and have a whole bunch of restaurants saved that look cool to try. I heard seating can be tough in some restaurants - is it absolutely necessary to make reservations to eat at local spots? I’m not tied to a single restaurant and am okay exploring to see where we can eat but I just want to know if that seems unrealistic to figure out good food spots once we get there.
