Relaxing, low-key accommodation for 15 people — anywhere in Bali!

3h ago

We have a group of \~15 adults looking for a relaxing stay to collectively celebrate our birthdays. We'll be visiting for a week at the end of June. I'm assuming our best option is to hire a large AirBnb, but open suggestions! Our main criteria are: * We're all staying in close proximity to each other (either all in the same AirBnb or in the same hotel/resort) * Easy access to yummy local food! (either restaurants that can handle large groups, or if we have an AirBnb...maybe hire a private chef?) * Easy access to spas/massages * Some interesting options for day trips/activities nearby (we have a mixed bag of interests but I think being nearby to temples / art / nature would k...

I last posted this 7 years ago, and the meal numbers have certainly changed since then, but still funny.

The Best Gamified Habit Tracker!

3h ago

Hey there, I built a Gamified habit tracker in Notion based on the RPG theme. Here's how it actually helps. **- What this thing actually does** • Tracks good & bad habits daily • Gives XP for good actions • Lose XP for doing bad habits • Player status window • Life areas (health, work, fitness, growth) • Rewards you unlock by actually doing stuff **- How it can help you IRL:** **Before:** • I’ll start tomorrow • No idea why days felt wasted • Zero accountability **After:** • Every habit has consequences • Progress is visible (or painful) • Missing habits actually feels bad 🔗 Link in the comment section if you’re curio...

A question for fellow Singaporean Indians: What parts of our culture do you want to pass down to your kids?

3h ago

I’m at a stage in life where the next step would be motherhood. My family has been in Singapore for around three to four generations, but I currently live abroad in my partner’s country. So my future kids will likely be born and raised in their dad’s country, though ideally I would bring them to visit family in Singapore every few months. While we are both Indian, his roots are from the North while mine is from the South. I'm Hindu, and he is Sikh. We were also born and raised in different parts of the world, so realistically the kids will probably be way more familiar with his culture, mother tongue, and traditions. That made me start wondering what parts of my own culture I wou...

Cheap beach destinations for 2–3 weeks from Canada (no car, open to many places)

3h ago

Hi everyone, I’m based in Canada (Montreal) and I’m looking to plan a budget beach trip for 2–3 weeks. I’m very open to destinations, with only two exclusions: the US and Canada. What I’m looking for: • Nice beaches / swimming • Warm weather • Good, affordable food • Low daily costs • No car required (I don’t have a driver’s license) • Private room or small apartment (not a dorm) no USA My budget is tight (around $1,200–1,500 CAD total, ideally including flights), so I’m looking for places with: • reasonably priced flights from Canada • affordable private accommodation • walkable towns or good public transport (buses, ferries, taxis) I’m ope...

Im getting sick of it

3h ago

I was desperately waiting for an order and i got almost a $7 one and it was for Chick-fil-A and its the only one we have here and its new, it was also the dinner rush so it was awful there so when i finally get it i go to the back part of town and they have practically no lights around and my car lights ****, and it is a winde Road up hill with bad map instructions, but i finally got there to a rich neighborhood and they said to leave at door and so i did. I didn't knock or anything because most people i go to dont want me to because of dogs or babies so i dont unless they tell me to in the instructions, but an hour later all my stuff comes through and they reduced it and that pisses me...

Is my betta okay?

3h ago

This is my first ever fishy. I've cycled my tank for a few months before getting her (thought I'd get her after the first month then my priorities changed but I still maintained the tank). It's been about a week, I was recently made aware of what ich is and investigated her closely, noticed this big white spot underneath her. I don't think it's ich, but is it maybe another parasite? I've been feeding her a very small pinch of pellets in the morning (maybe 6-8 tiny pellets) and a few thawed bloodworms before bed, I've fasted her a couple times just to be safe since she likes to scavenge the floor for food she didn't finish. I did a water change right be...

48 hours in your city

3h ago

My partner and I (WLW) are visiting DC during the first week of February. Tuesday-Thursday will be spent working, but we have all day Friday and Saturday open for sightseeing (we travel home on Sunday). With such limited time, what should we make sure to do/see? We’re: - staying near the convention center - love food/coffee/cocktails (I collect matchbooks, so bonus if a restaurant or bar has them!) - open to wandering a few museums and galleries, of course - don’t mind walking a few blocks to get from A to B (rather than paying for Ubers every time) - prefer to not spend a small fortune on ticketed events etc. Thanks in advance!

CMV: Making a city walkable is one of the systematic changes to improve physical and mental health.

I have always live in a walkable city and i see it's benefits every single day. I don't own any personal vehicle and either walk or use public transport. Anything i could mostly need, groceries, stationary, clothes, hair saloon, restaurants, cafes, glasses is a 15 min walk from my home. There isn't just one person providing these service, there are multiple shops. So, I find prices to be comparable as well. For physical health, A lot of modern health problems is being sedentary for a long time. During my last few years of school, i had to travel 2 times each; making it 4 times. Taking the lower estimate of travel 15 mins, I still walked for an 1 hour. People may not need t...

Should we get another?

4h ago

We have a beautiful lynx point female (pic attached) that we rescued as a hungry skinny stray. To see we love her and she is our absolute life is an understatement. She runs this house and our hearts. We often look at the cats available for adoption at a local chain pet food shop and they have a female Siamese that has been there about three months. My husband really wants to adopt her and as much I love cats…I just don’t know if it’s wise to adopt another? What if they don’t get along? I can’t believe I’m even saying this but I can’t imagine loving mother cat as much as the one we have?! I am a huge animal lover and want to see this Siamese get a wonderful home but ha anyone e...

Ninja AF101 vs Ninja AF161 – Which Air Fryer Should You Buy?

Both are well-built air fryers from Ninja, and both cook food with less oil and less fuss than a traditional oven. I’ve used each in my own kitchen: the AF101 for everyday small meals and the AF161 for bigger batches. After weeks of testing both through real cooking, I can help you decide which one matches your cooking needs best. # Is the Ninja AF101 Good? Yes the **Ninja AF101** is a solid starter air fryer. I used this one almost daily for snacks, quick dinn...

5 months later and 20 lbs heavier... what should I focus on?

4h ago

Got tired of being a literal skeleton and committed on going to the gym. PPL 3-5 times a week starting late spring of last year and just eating more healthier food generally. Sometimes I feel like I'm not improving fast enough but l'm also just impatient. Wondering what I focus on doing and any general tips? In the first pic they were taken in July and November respectively. Second pic is a larger time gap. Not sure exactly how much but over a year. Sorry for the dirty mirror :/
