So I’m a bit obsessed with food. I grew up in Rockford and have my humble Midwest values, but I moved out to California, silicon value for a few years. I’ve since moved back to Rockford. I’m 24 and I’ve been struggling with weight gain since I graduated high school. When COVID hit, everything kind of went downhill. I started working at a fast food place and got used to eating junk constantly. Free food on breaks, cooking more before going home, grabbing fast food all the time. It didn’t feel like a big deal at first, but it slowly became normal. Over the years I went from around 180 to about 260. I tried fixing it a bunch of times. For starters, about a decade ago I totally wrecked my gut health and metabolism via intense and constant cardio paired with anorexic eating habits for a few years - yes I somehow maintained that for years. About 5 years ago I started eating more due to health issues - however nothing more than I felt necessary. Fast forward to now, I’m at a very healthy weight and I eat quite healthy (whole foods, at home cooking only, no fast food, minimal alcohol consumption, mindful macros, etcetc). A new restaurant had opened up in my city, and it’s a rooftop restaurant so pretty unique for the area so I was immediately interested as my husband and I love trying new restaurants. However after looking at their Instagram and their Google page, the photos of the food definitely seem off. I do believe these could be real images of their food, but these have to been enhanced or edited by AI right?

Hey neighbors :) I’ve noticed that people on this sub tend to downvote any comments that recommend Jacob’s Pickles as a restaurant worth considering on the UWS - I’m just wondering why! I get that it’s pretty popular and therefore.. basic? But is there some deeper reason for the negativity? We went once with our two small kids and had a nice time, lovely space, service, and pretty good food. I live on the same block as the new location and it’s full every day/night, but not in a particularly gross way, and seems to attract a fairly diverse crowd. I was looking at an old canister of psyllium since I just bought a new one and I noticed that the nutrition facts were different from the new one. I have the new one on the right with the bolder 10 calories font .. And the old one on the left. The serving size is the same but it looks like the fiber is slightly less in the new one and the calories are half. I wonder why. Hi all, New to this sub. New to reddit honestly, but looking for some advice and perspective. I have a 4 year old golden retriever boy. We got him as an 8 week old pup from a friend who is a breeder - most beautiful, sweet dog in the world and spend the long hard hours and dollars on trainers, books, and more. I think we maybe made 2 mistakes: 1) we didn’t get him fixed because we planned to breed him. 2) we got a trainer who liberally used and encouraged e-collars, specifically around other dogs for redirection. I think the combination of not having quite the same level of exposure due to unfixed rules for dog parks, etc, and the e-collar trained my boy to be scared of other dogs instead...
