1h ago

I've written out my itinerary for interested travellers, including everything from accomodation to food! # TASMANIA - 10 Night Itinerary *Includes: Launceston, Cradle Mountain, Strahan, Hobart, Bruny Island* *Starts on a Saturday and ends on a Tuesday (for Salamanca market purposes)* # Day 1: Launceston to Cradle Mountain **Fly into Launceston in the morning** **Pick up hire car from Apex Car Rentals**  * *They had a quick shuttle from the airport to their site, and was the cheapest we could find. We recommend the hybrid Toyota Corolla - we spent so much less on petrol because of it. B-m...

Stop Buying Anti-Aging Pills: How to Unlock Your Body’s Built-In Repair System

1h ago

Most anti-aging routines focus on "replacing" what we lose—if your skin looks older, you buy collagen; if you’re tired, you buy energy-boosting pills (). But research shows that your body is already a high-tech factory capable of making these things on its own. You just have to give it the right "signals" to start production. Here is how to replace the most expensive supplements with simple daily habits. 1. Ditch the Collagen Powder: Eat the Ingredients Instead Collagen supplements are often broken down by your stomach before they ever reach your skin. To get real results, you need to give your body the raw materials and a "work order" to build new skin. \* ...

I Built a Free Site to Find Food Deals

1h ago

I built a small website called DealDine.net to help people find food deals nearby. It’s 100% free... no sign-ups, no ads, and no tracking beyond basic Google Analytics to understand site traffic. I run it myself because I wanted something like this and didn’t see it out there. It costs me about $50/month to keep running, and I’m intentionally keeping it simple and community-focused. Right now it’s heavy on: Happy hours Chain restaurant deals Dine-in and pickup savings You can search by ZIP code, cuisine, or restaurant name, or hit the “I’m Hangry” button to see deals within a 2-mile radius. Deals only appear when they’re active (like happy hours during their set times),...

Reta or Norovirus?

1h ago

Hey everyone, Wanted to see if anyone here has experienced something like this and whether it sounds more like retatrutide side effects or just a random stomach virus (norovirus/food poisoning). I’m currently on retatrutide 1mg weekly. • Took my first 1mg dose on Jan 25 — felt totally fine all week • Took my second 1mg dose on Feb 1 — again totally fine Sunday night - Thursday night No nausea or issues after either injection. I meal prep and intermittent fast and haven’t eaten anything outside my normal routine. Thursday I did feel a bit full but tried to finish my meal anyway to keep protein intake high. Then around midnight, everything hit suddenly: • Nausea started o...

Lebanese chef looking to move to Australia

1h ago

hi everyone, I’m a Lebanese chef currently looking for job opportunities in Australia and would really appreciate some insight from people in the industry or anyone who has gone through a similar path. I have around 5 years of professional experience in Middle Eastern / Levantine cuisine, working hands-on in kitchens (hot section, prep, service). I’m comfortable with high-volume service, traditional recipes, and modern adaptations of Levantine food. I’m trying to understand how realistic my chances are of finding: An employer willing to hire a foreign chef Potential visa sponsorship (482 / 407 or similar), if applicable From your experience: Is there demand in Australia for Midd...

Do I move out on my own or keep living with my family?

1h ago

I 24F live with my dad and brother. I've lived with them for almost 4 years now. I moved in with them when I was evicted from my apartment back in 2022, and since then I have an eviction and a bankruptcy on my record due to my irresponsibility when I was 21. Due to bad experiences with my dad in the past, it's quite uncomfortable living with him. I've been really itching to move out on my own again as I feel I cannot live the way I want, dress the way I want living with him. He also makes me feel bad almost every time I talk to him because he doesn't have money, and hints at me giving him money. It's a little unbearable being in the kitchen ( kitchen and living room...

30 M - Looking for Friends!

1h ago

Hello everyone, I’m looking for friends to try new restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and attend markets with! I’m hoping we would have proper conversations to know each other and be ourselves. A little about me: I’ve been going to the gym more each week to raise my positivity, and so I can try even more food to satiate my foodie hunger. Although I’m an introvert, I love exploring the world and can easily be a homebody. I'm more on the nerdy side, where I enjoy collecting small art pieces, playing some casual video games (currently playing OSRS), and watching TV shows (recently finished Fallout season 2) and some anime (currently watching Jujutsu Kaisen - how badass is Maki!). I li...

What a difference a year makes. I found these pictures of Daisy from just over a year ago when I first found her tied to...

1h ago

The first two pics are Daisy with my niece. She was the only person Daisy trusted right from the start. She was given the honors of naming Daisy. Her previous abusive owner must've been a man bc she didnt trust me at all for about 72 hrs. lol. pic 3 was from the night i brought her home. She would not leave that car at all so I just shut her in the garage and left the car door open with food and blankets. In retrospect, she was surely in pain from her leg fracture (we didnt know it was broken yet). the leash she was tied to the guardrail with apparently got wrapped around her leg while trying to free herself 😪. Fast forward 13-14 months and 35 extra pounds and she's all...

Why almost every Indian street vendor provides some kind of performance?

1h ago

Recently on my insta feed, I have lots of this dirty Indian street food videos. Which is entertaining by itself, but why do almost every Indian vendor has this kind of urge to make cooking performative (do it very fast, bunch of unnecessary move etc.). Is this part of the culture? Do they do it just for the camera? What’s the point of this?

Any Restaurant Recommendation Near Matsusaka Station?

1h ago

I’ve started looking into food stops for a visit to Matsusaka and I really want to focus on trying authentic **Matsusaka beef near Matsusaka Station**, so I wanted to ask you all for your personal best recommendations for places to eat it — whether it’s a famous steakhouse, a small local restaurant, a cozy yakiniku spot, or even a hidden gem you stumbled upon by accident. It doesn’t have to be super fancy or touristy, just somewhere that feels special to you and serves great Matsusaka beef 🥩✨ I’d also really appreciate any lesser-known or niche places that don’t always show up on travel blogs or guides. Info about me: I love discovering local food spots, enjoy relaxed atmo...

Intense 951 Gravel Bike Upgrades

1h ago

Just wanted to share with anyone who might be looking at this bike at their LBS and couldn’t find some information they were hoping to find like I was. Comparing this bike with others in its same category and specs, you can get into a decent drop bar gravel bike for half what its competition is asking. I come from a more mountain bike and bikepacking experience with just a little gravel experience, It’s not my number one category of cycling but since I picked this up I’m training on it almost daily. Some component swaps I did right away for comfort and to “unlock” what this bike can do for me. I ditched the bar as I didn’t find the stock one wide enough for me and the drops ...

Butcher and the Bear - great food but not sure of service

1h ago

I visited Butcher and the Bear for RW. The whole table had to get RW so we tried every dish to experience as much as possible. I was a bit surprised by the portion sizes (especially the 5oz steak) but overall the food was great. Nothing was overcooked or too salty just right on point. Although they didn’t ask how I preferred my steak cooked, it was served medium and turned out well. Besides the great food, the service was horrible. I don’t expect anything extravagant, but at least a minimum. While the server verbally checked in on other tables, he would glance over at ours. The water was never refilled and plates were never changed (I know some restaurants do this so no big complai...

Tofu and fries with side of kimchi

No sauce or dressing. Somehow I just love how food tastes sometimes without sauces. I used spices in the tofu though. Cheap, fast and easy
