I’ve been running a GE over-the-range microwave in my own kitchen rotation for a couple weeks, and this one is the PVM9005SJSS. Brand-wise it’s a GE microwave oven setup with the hood style install, and it’s basically aimed at people who want real venting and a big cavity without paying the premium you see on some newer “smart” units. Cooking performance is solid for 1050 watts. Heating speed is quick on leftovers and beverages, though it’s a hair slower than the 1200W countertop units I test sometimes. Beginning to get very anxious about postpartum. For context, I am an OCD clean freak. I like my stuff cleaned and tidied up a certain way. I absolutely do not mind doing it myself however…… My parents would like to come visit and stay with us once the baby is born. I told my mom a few days after is fine. There is a lovely little community of shops, restaurants and galleries growing north of MacEwan! I walked by today and tried Bean Around the World, such a cute coffee shop! I saw a new Nigerian restaurant (Lagos Flavors) that I am excited to try. Coming soon next door is Bikkles n Tings Caribbean food. Across the street was the new Patricia Street Deli which seems to have excellent reviews. Nearby is my favourite banh mi place, Banh Mi Diddy! And of course there is Brew and Bloom coffee and SNAP Gallery. Lots more... Have you tried any of the above, or any of the places I'm missing here? I'm excited to dive in to some of these offerings!

Hi everyone, I'm traveling to Japan soon, and have severe seafood plus nut allergies😅. I'll have an EpiPen and allergy card (In Japanese) ready, but beyond that it seems more food then I thought may contain at least some form of seafood ingredients. I’m trying to identify why my cookies almost never come out how I want. They tend to be more flat than I’d like, spreading more than ideal. I always chill the heck out of my dough, weigh my ingredients, use quality aluminum pans from restaurant supply, and parchment paper. I’ve leaned to store my baking soda in a hermetically sealed container and replace it often since I live in the PNW. I’m a good cook, and have good technique. Hi all. In sept I had my regular physical and had an A1C of 5.8 and other than being told to watch my carb intake and eat better I wasn’t really given any information. I’m 6’1, 225lbs (now 209lb). I got maybe 20lb more to lose and several months prior to getting my physical I had a surgery which kept me out of the gym (usually 4x week) and during that time I was eating like a king. Could the higher a1c be caused by lack of movement and all the junk I was eating (fast food and ice cream frequently) or am I actually prediabetic? I’m not really understanding if this was a result of poor lifestyle during that time or if this is just me. Sorry for the rant. Thank you.
