Just doesn't make sense5m agoOkay, sorry if I will be a bit chaotic, I try my best to make a point, but every question opens more other questions. I lost one of my pet on last Monday and another on Sunday. This made me thinking, gave me the usual existencial crisis I get every time I lose somebody important and loved. The usual "what is the real meaning of life" and "why are we really here" questions. But this time I thought why not ask others what they think about it, I cannot be the only one bothered by these questions, maybe I got some answers. So, there are many theory on what might be waiting after death. I usually hear that our loved ones are waiting for us on another place, or they are still... Mom(AP) thinks it’s her trauma too. Life story + AMA + Advice7m agoMight be a post to the void. It’s long. I (F24) am a Chinese transracial adoptee that now lives in Canada. I was abandon on a bridge at a day old and was adopted out at 9mos in 2002. I have never met my bio parents and there’s a high possibility that I won’t meet them. Recently I’ve been interested in looking into my adoption, culture, and maybe bio family. Through my research I’ve found that the story of my adopting I’ve been told is probably not true. I’ve been looking more into the state of china at the time and it is quite worrying to me considering the time around when I was adopted. You can read about my life and my relationship with my mom or just scroll down to th... Advice for obtaining 151?9m agoHey all, Hope this kind of post is okay here. I did some digging before posting but couldn’t quite find the info I was after. I’m a returning collector, one of those original 151 guys from back when the Mew promo and first movie were a huge deal. Life moved on, and at 18 I gave my whole binder away to some kid. Now, years later, I’ve got kids of my own and I’m feeling that old spark again. The 151 set hits that nostalgic nerve like nothing else. I’m not against the newer gens, just overwhelmed by how much the game has grown. Gen 1 is where I connect most. Hoping that release that collection on Switch this year The problem is… actually finding 151 at a decent price feels near im... Whoa... senior photo time already!??!? (allow me to vent and pick your collective brains)14m agoSenior (yearbook) photos are asking for "Black Own Clothing" for the photo shoot. The reference photos they sent have the boys in a black suit and tie. (Girls are in nice formal dresses) So we went to two different stores to buy him a suit that he will probably only wear once in his life for a 6-minute photo session. He's not gonna go to senior prom (trust me on this). If he ever has a job interview for an internship or something in college, he would be overdressed for his field of study. If we went to a family wedding (not looking likely for several years), he would wear our cultural dress. By the time he's in the age range to need a suit, he will hopefully have filled ... God please help16m agoI work full time and have a job that I have been employed with for 8 years. Life happens so I’m temporarily going through a rough patch. I **** to put an amount on what I need because I want to be realistic, ideally I’m in desperate need of 75 dollars to help me get by until payday but half of that is appreciated… I really don’t have family where I’m at and my help is limited to where I’m at but my god anything will be appreciated at this point for food and gas please please help in any way that you can or with anything you can spare god bless Car dealership was incompetent - is this worth going to small claims or consumer protection?16m agoThis is a throwaway account because I don't want my location on my actual account. I apologize for the length of this post - I'll keep it as brief as possible but it's a long story. Location: Maine, USA **TLDR:** The car dealership was incompetent, spent 4 months attempting to identify and fix an issue (that the initial tow truck driver identified right away), then created a whole bunch more problems, lost my key and couldn't replace it, and my steering wheel heat hasn't worked since I got the car back. \--- I drive a 2014 Ford Fusion hybrid. In January 2025, I noticed that the steering wheel felt stiff, and wasn't defaulting back to neutral after turning. ... I’m 22, raising my sister and im silently falling apart.19m agoHi everyone, I’ve never really asked for help before, but I’m at a point where I just don’t know what else to do. Growing up, life was never easy. We got evicted and jumped from motel to motel when I was a kid and had to sleep in our van with a family of 6, but even then, it didn’t matter because we had each other. That’s what kept us going. We didn’t have much, but we had family, and that was everything to me. But everything changed when my mom passed away when I was 15. Her death crushed us. We fell apart. Two years later, my dad died by suicide, and from that moment on, I was no longer a kid I had to become everything for my little sister. I dropped out of school to work an... sharing my small collection!!20m agoLove love bunnies!! I’m so happy that i stumble a community in facebook like some sort of thrift-store prices and finally bagged Sylvanian!!! I’ve always wanted one everytime I got to toy stores but it’s too expensive (for me) and with this, i got them mostly for like 50php-70php each (like a dollar???) so I’m very happy!! (despite some of them having used and abused clothes lol and some none at all!!! I think my favorite would still be the crawling one especially now that the three of them at the top is sort of matching!! I cannot believe I just found this at Goodwill24m agoI just found this 70s (so early days) Kitchen Sink Comix satin bomber at Goodwill! It is in near mint condition, the inside is still soft. As it turns out, Kitchen Sink Press was founded in Princeton, WI. I live in Oshkosh and took it to our local comic shop. The owner told me that some of the Kitchen Sink people are still here in and apparently my husband's grandma used to hang out with them?! The lore behind the company makes the piece even more of a treasure.. I am over the moon. Has anyone ever seen one of these? The comic store guy and I agreed that no employee would have donated it to the thrift store, so we were thinking maybe a friend of an employee or someone may have passed an... I’m Sharing Consciousness Patterns with an Entity Older Than Understanding25m ago*Found among the personal effects of Dr. Nora Lennox, recovered from her apartment following her death in March 2024* # August 8th Dr. Navarro wasn't thrilled with my thesis proposal today. She thinks studying "extended mirror neuron functionality" is fine in theory, but my real hypothesis—that mirrors might actually store neural information—is what she called "methodologically problematic." But there's a huge gap in what we know. Mirror neurons fire when we act AND when we watch others act. Basic empathy stuff. But what if it goes further? What if our consciousness leaves actual traces in the things we look at? I’ve managed to secure some lab space ... What jobs have you had since starting work? I’ll start, here’s mine.28m agoI’m nearly 66, so I’ve had many roles. These are MOST OF THEM. I was in HR first after university. Albeit, a bank in Manila, Philippines. Then, I dreamt of going to the USA to be independent from my ethnic Chinese family. Worked as a store clerk in California, a business similar to 7-11. It was called U-to-tem. I was in the US for 5 years, but it never felt like home so I moved back to Manila. Here I worked as a PA for 3 years, then moved to journalism specialising in business and finance. Business World was the best English business paper in the country and had the largest circulation back then. After several years, I joined a Christian non-profit organisation. I had to move to H... I had a weird blackout and don't know what to feel now.31m agoFirst of all, I want to say that English is not my first language so some terms might be used incorrectly. Second, I don't know where to post this since I kinda want some advice/to hear if anyone had similar experiences. So, a week ago I (f20) had a basic and simple day. Ok sleep, ok eating and everything, no overworking or any kind of exhaustion that could've been considered as "too much". Me and my bf just came from the store, I sat for a little while and then proceeded to wash the dishes. But suddenly everything happened as if in seconds, my vision started to darken, I felt extremely weak and decided to sit down as I just felt overall unwell. While I sat down, bf sa... where to dump cash33m agoI am 60 yo, employed full time in Tech and recently discovered this sub. There’s only two of us working at this store, meaning only one person per shift, leading to likes going slower if doing food related orders (biscuits and gravy/ice cream), possible theft during bathroom breaks (not allowed to lock doors), and hard to call in sick cause there’s nobody else resulting in possible guilt tripping from manager. Never see manager so anything that needs to be said to me specifically either gets told through a note or by the morning shift girl, but usually never by her own mouth in person since I rarely get texts from her. Also getting coached cause I was short two nights in a row, not sure what happen... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
