The Issue with "Skill Issue"

0m ago

Skill Issue. This phrase personifies what SmashRage has **wrongly** been generalized with for a while now, many people having taken delight in using it on us while completely misunderstanding who we are, what we do, and why we call this place home. I am going to dismantle this phrase & its related to SmashRage **bit by bit**. SmashRage does **not** have *only* skill issues. Certain people in the Smash community just have an obvious **ego** issue. Let’s begin. The phrase “skill issue” & its partnering sentiments are just a snarky invalidation tactic used by egotistical dickheads who virtually have no life outside of Smash. This is the *one* game where such peo...

They are to much

Throwaway account for privacy. I’m struggling with my in-laws after recently giving birth. They want to visit multiple times a week, but I live far from my own family and Im a private person. I’ve never been comfortable with crowds or constant company; I’m someone who needs space to recharge. While my in-laws are "nice" on the surface, their frequent visits leave me feeling completely drained. I just want to bond with my baby in peace. I just found out my father-in-law is a registered sex offender—he wasn't even allowed to visit us in the hospital. My husband's family acts like it’s no big deal, and they never discuss anything of substance or show real emoti...

I spent 6 months building Devly — 50+ dev tools in a macOS menu bar. Launched today.

1m ago

I'm a developer who was tired of jumping between browser tabs just to format JSON, convert colors, test regex, or hash a string. So I decided to fix it myself. ## The Build 6 months of nights and weekends. The hardest part wasn't the UI or the 50+ tools — it was getting everything to work inside **macOS's App Sandbox**. Every tool that processes data locally has to play by Apple's strict sandboxing rules, and figuring out how to make that work without breaking functionality took way longer than I expected. But I like a challenge, and I love building for macOS — so I kept going. ## What I Built **Devly** — a native SwiftUI menu bar app with 50+ developer u...

Secret from Marshalls!

3m ago

My Marshall’s had the big head baby threes and I know that they truly aren’t any type of deal considering this is a discount store, but I couldn’t resist. I really only wanted the unicorn so I picked out two and managed to not only get my target, but also the small secret!

No more door chime in CO stores

3m ago

So today our maintenance guy came to disconnect our door chime because corrporate said that we're not allowed to have the door chime in our stores anymore. I can't think of anything that says they don't give a **** about us more than that. If you work a store in CO turn your door chime off before maintenance disconects it and tell them it doesn't work than turn it back on when they leave. Door chime is essential for us especially those of us that work nights.

I didn’t believe in “easy money.” Not anymore. Easy money was always a story you told yourself right up until the moment you realized you’d been the punchline the whole time. Still—when Darren Lasky said, “A thousand a night, cash,” my brain did what it always does when the number gets big: it started editing reality for me. It shaved off the parts that didn’t fit. The weird parts. The parts that made your stomach tighten. A thousand dollars would cover the back rent. It would get my phone turned back on. It would keep the lights from getting shut off again—because the last notice wasn’t a warning, it was a countdown. A thousand dollars would make the dent in my life ...

Looking for Canadian apps or services that help save money on groceries

4m ago

I know there are american apps like ibotta but I want to support canadian companies if possible plus a lot of those don't even work here. Not looking for extreme couponing situations, just practical ways to reduce our monthly spending by maybe $100-150 if that's realistic. We already buy store brands for most things, meal plan around what's on sale... doing all the standard stuff but grocery prices keep going up faster than we can optimize, we are a family of 4. Anyone have recommendations for Canadian apps, services, or strategies that have helped your family's grocery budget? Would especially love to hear from other parents dealing with the same struggle

[Ulysse Nardin Diver] Love the color of this watch

4m ago

Just got this watch today. I first saw this watch when I went to visit a UN boutique in Menlo Park in NorCal. I saw a lot of incredible watches that day, but this one stuck with me (along with the Freak). Next began a month long searching and researching on Diver watches. I spent hours on Reddit, chatGPT, Instagram etc trying to find the perfect diver watch. But I kept coming back to this watch. Ultimately found an insane deal on CN24 with a US dealer. Pulled the trigger and received it today.

Looking for research internship opportunities abroad

5m ago

Hi all, I'm an Electrical Engineering undergraduate student interested in doing a research stay abroad to get my degree. I'm mainly considering English - speaking (not my first language) countries like Canada, the US. Or some Europe country as Spain. I'm looking to connect with a professor or lab that accepts international visiting students. If I can obtain an invitation letter from a host professor, my university may fund my travel and accomodation. I would deal with the administrative process and logistics myself. Does anyone know: -Professors currently accepting visiting students? -Research groups open to international collaboration? 'The best way to approach p...

Morningstar Customs Issues

5m ago

I ordered a MC8 Pro from Perfect Circuit in late December and it's been stuck in customs for the past 6ish weeks -- anybody ordered direct from Morningstar recently? Thinking it's time to cancel that order and instead order it direct from them... only thing holding me back is I definitely prefer to deal with any service issues down the line with a US based-company.

Places to recycle bubble mailers

I tried the Target in Tenleytown that is listed on the [How 2 Recycle](https://how2recycle.info/about-the-how2recycle-label/store-drop-off-us-only/) page, but they don't actually take them..Before I try others, anyone have a known spot participating in the program?

Disappointed in Rep fitness.

So I have been looking at buying the Double Black Diamond power bar for sometime. I had planned to get the stainless steel bar and sleeve option. Yesterday however, I get an email with daily deals that indicated that the bar was on sale 10% off for the Stainless with a chrome sleeve. I decided to pull the trigger and clicked the link. I saw the bar and they had it listed at $359 with the discount. I assumed they had made a pricing mistake as that had been the price without a discount since I had looked at the bar. So I reached out to customer service and said I am not seeing the discount. They responded back that the bar is ordinarily $399. I said that the stainless on stainless is $399 and ...

**Looking for a reliable Milky Way vendor? You found the right source.** Whale Sweepstakes Software is the authorized master distributor for the Milky Way platform, providing vendors, agents, and store owners with true wholesale pricing, instant loads, and full backend control. **Why Partner with a Master Distributor?** Most vendors never access the real source. As the master distributor, we provide **direct net-cost wholesale pricing** on Milky Way backend points and credits. No middleme...

New SM set schedules

6m ago

Middle florida district Store manager for around 7 months DM just came down and told our district that we are not going to "unilateral" set schedules across all stores. He chose the schedule, and also set conference calls for 15 minutes before the start of every shift. He expects us to be on the call before our scheduled shift. He told some store managers who take specific days off every week to change their doctors appointments and re adjust their lives to this schedule. Now every store manager in the district will be out of the stores on the same day every week. My Store specifically is alloted almost 4 hours for prescriptive skus on inventory management, he now only gives m...

Pots for plants

7m ago

My daughter is crazy for plants and needs pots. She is a teen so the look is everything. We went to Target, goodwill and big lots and were disappointed. Can you recommend stores that have a big selection besides Home Depot. We are going shopping this weekend and also stopping at Foxglove plant bar. I’d love to find some deals but we will also be supporting our local plant bar. When I lived in Douglasville I remember going to a pottery place that was like a warehouse for plant pots, is there anything like that? TIA
