I had ordered a wine bottle holder for my mother who likes drinking wine but for some reason leaves the wine bottle completely abandoned on the floor. I bought a Wool blazer today at the thrift store. I have asked the store to not wash items, and they say they don’t, but now I’m wondering if they are using Febreeze or something because most all of the clothes smell the same. I came across threads of people talking about damaged products due to inadequate packaging, wrong orders, missing pieces, etc. What happens when they get returned--are they repaired and sold as new? Are there stores that buy returned products from various retailers and resell them at discounts? That was my impression of stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's (I've never been to them). I suppose this question can be applied to retail stores in general--in particular those that sell clothing, apparel, and other products. E.g. is returned clothing washed to be safe? Simply taken out of the opened plastic outer packaging and folded into another to present as new?

My boyfriend (17) and I (16) have been together for 9 months. This is my first serious relationship, and it’s also his first long-term relationship. He cuts hair and makes his own money and often spends it on clothes and other things for himself, which I don’t mind at all — he can spend his money however he wants. Literally had someone tell me they weren’t happy with a donated item they received from me for free because it wasn’t the quality they expected. Mind you it’s a $20 clothing item in excellent condition that they paid $0 for because I donated it to them, and it’s never been worn before. They confirmed nothing was wrong with the actual item except some loose threads were showing (which I didn’t even notice). But I’m not exactly understanding why someone would complain about a free item with quality issues outside my control and expect me to fix it?
