Which Monitor should I get during Black Friday?

50m ago

My current monitor Dell G2724D and budget on buying a monitor is around $200-$400 and no I have zero interest in OLED due to hefty price and (most importantly) risk for burn in My choices when it comes IPS panel monitor that have 240hz, IPS LG UltaGear 27gr83q-b or Alienware aw2723df I herd good things about LG makes the best monitor and this model his highly recommended, as for the Alienware, it can overclock to 280 hz and has HDR 600 Feel free to give me alternative as long as it has the same specs.

Fantasy book with a guy who makes worlds in jars

51m ago

When I was a teen (early 2000s) I read a fantasy book, I believe one of the main characters was a guy who would craft worlds inside of jars (or some other kind of container) and i think another main character was a girl who would explore these places. It's been well over half my life since I read it so my memory is definitely spotty for this. It was a little paper back book, no memory of the cover. Honestly it may have been very bad or great I have no recollection but I have gotten back into reading in recent years and want to revisit this book. Just one of those memories of finding a random book at a book store and reading a quarter of it before the parents say it's time to ...

Pan for steam-baking rolls (and maybe bread)

52m ago

I bake bread regularly using sourdough and an inexpensive oval-shaped dutch oven I got from Aldi in their here today gone tomorrow aisle. I like watching bread recipes on YouTube and came across a channel in which the creator has done a lot of different bread roll and small croissants, baking them all using a unique pan. At about 11 x 14 x 4 inches deep, the pan used has indexing bumps formed into its flat end handles so that a second pan same thing when inverted, makes a baking "box" 8 inches tall inside, and the top and bottom and nicely indexed together. See it at any of the videos titled "I don't buy bread anymore . . . " Links are in the text script of the v...

Transformer Table Panel Storage

54m ago

I have been wanting to purchase a Transformer Table, but the videos and picture don't show where the panels were stored. ChatGPT and their AI answering service said the bench can hold the panels, but seems like the bench was holding the panel for the bench. Can someone show me how they can be stored? I have a small living room, so I need to be strategic about this before buying one.

The Mall that Time Forgot: How I Built My Accurate Century III Dioramas

55m ago

🌟 Step Back to '79: Welcome to Century III Mall! 🌟 A Tribute to the 80s/Early 90s Pittsburgh Classic **I. Project Origin & Mall History** This project is a nostalgic, multi-part diorama series built to capture the golden age aesthetic of Century III Mall in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. Origin Story: The entire project began as a small, separate tribute piece to the beloved central sculpture, Pittsburgh Reflections by artist Douglas Pickering. It was originally an approximately $11 \\times 11 \\times 11$-inch diorama, built using the same core materials and methods as the larger displays you see today. That small tribute quickly grew, as I decided the sculpture needed...

Do not sleep on Lumines on PSVR2, it is absolutely AMAZING

56m ago

Lumines is one of the first games I bought for my PSP back when it released, and I would spend hours upon hours playing it. When it was released for the playstation, and other platforms I continued to buy it and obsessively play it. When new iterations came out, I would eat them up. I remember the first time I payed Tetris Effect in VR I thought to myself, "please do Lumines next", and my prayers were answered. I have always been a Lumines over Tetris guy to be clear, and this is not only the best version of Lumines ever made, it's hands down the best VR puzzler ever made. The immersion is unamteched, the music is as pleasing as always, and when that tunnel focus hits, and y...

(Update) 2 years later…

Here is the original post from 2 years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/FamilyIssues/s/rtwTEiRsKz even though there were only a few comments, I honestly just want to get this out and I appreciate the people that did comment and try to help the situation… I would’ve updated sooner, but this whole situation was extremely bad on my mental health and I needed time to process things. His family broke us up… and it was messy. After my previous post 2 years ago, my bf and I ended up staying together for another year. His SIL never let up on the bullying, tag teaming with his female friend (who became his SIL’s bff after they were introduced via their husbands). His brother (9 years older t...

Stroller advice

57m ago

No. This is not an ask for advice post. This is I will give you advice on your stroller. First time dad this past summer and I went down the rabbit hole looking for "the best" stroller. I was bombarded with uppa babys and alike and ended up buying a Gracco Premier which I ended up being just OK but we haven't used it much. Now of course everyone is different and have different needs but I would really recommend to all new dads to get the Thule Urban Glide as one and only stroller. Here the whys 1. Bigger tires that are design as a "running/jogger" stroller. I don't do any of that but the bigger wheels are great for all the cracked and uneven sidewalks. ...

Upgrade or wait for Zen 6

58m ago

Hello all! Longtime diy builder here but I've not upgraded in years. Current build is a Ryzen 2700 and a RTX 3080 @1440p. Purchased the CPU back in 2017/18 and it's lasted for a long time. I'm now at the minimum specs for Battlefield 6. Considering finally pulling the trigger on an upgrade. I don't have a max budget for a new CPU/mobo per se, but I'm not doing AI/CAD/software development etc. games and normal day to day usage. I would like to get something that would hold me through another 7 years vs go mid-range and upgrade twice. 9800X3D seems to be the obvious choice, or with all the recent news about Zen 6, should I just wait until next year? I'm lean...

CoreWeave is at the Heart of the AI Industrial Revolution ----- UNTIL YOU PROVE TO ME THERE IS A DEMAND PROBLEM THEN THE...

If this is a “bubble,” it is the first one in history built on clearly insatiable demand, with the full demand curve still not priced in. # Nvidia and CoreWeave are not a bug, they are the design The fact that Nvidia is so central to CoreWeave is often presented as a red flag. It should be treated as the core of the thesis. In September, Nvidia and CoreWeave signed a 6.3 billion dollar agreement that runs through April 2032. Nvidia is obligated to purchase any residual CoreWeave cloud capacity that is not sold to other customers. This is not a vague “partnership.” It is a contractual offtake that effectively puts a floor under CoreWeave’s utilization for years. At the same time...
