2014 Nissan Altima 2.5 L SV repair questions, advice, and help

6h ago

Hello everyone, I’m new to the group here Needing some advice suggestions for DIY service on my 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5 L SV supposedly from the research I have done but I’ve got mixed reviews. The images of this sensor is a map sensor. It is bolted directly on the side of the intake manifold towards back between the firewall and the manifold. It is held on by two T25 Torx head screws. I have no problem getting to the top screw the bottom screw literally has about a pinky fingers with a space to access the head of the screw. Has anybody ever replaced this on their vehicle I also sent pictures of the engine the red arrow points to the sensor. I bought this car used in December of 25 no...

Spanish Mechanics - Where do you buy your tools and supplies?

2d ago

Im near Valencia and am getting started with an independent automotive repair business. However I'm finding that tools and supplies specifically for mechanics are more difficult to source locally. In the United States, there is an Autozone on every corner, in every town, and they have basically anything you could need other than speciality tools for specific brands. In Spain, it seems the Recambios stores carry auto parts, but not much in the way of tools or supplies unless you want to order it in. Am I just looking in the wrong places or is everything truly ordered online now? Thank you in advance.

edit: solved, I'm just an ***** who didn't secure the connectors to the battery terminals tightly enough [Original post from 2 days ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/CarHelp/comments/1rls64d/comment/o90iupa/) The Camry was working inconsistently, until 2 days ago I went to jumpstart it and it cut off immediately upon removing the jumper cables. Took the battery to be tested at Costco where I bought it, test said "charge battery and retest". All comments told me that the alternator is the problem. I took the battery to Autozone to have it charged and tested, they did so and confirmed the battery is still good. I stopped by Costco on the way home and they confirmed that the...

Working at a temporary Autozone.

4d ago

Working at a temporary Autozone store is the absolute worst. Only 3 iles, no nuts and bolts, help, paint, or accessories section. Nothing is where it should be and our inventory is always off. My store manager implements random “no return” policies on items to keep profit so my coworkers and I get yelled at by customers who should rightfully be able to return an item. Many lazy workers. The good workers are given the least amount of hours and the most memos to file. The worst employees are given the most hours and zero consequences.

Shipping

5d ago

I've been using rockauto for several years now and when I first started i learned to check and double check and triple check my part numbers. It only took a couple of times of ordering the wrong part to learn that the rock auto catalog system isn't perfect. My second go to parts store is o Reillys but darned do I get heart burn when I see the price triple from a rock auto part. It sure is nice to walk in and exchange things if they don't work or fit though. My question to all of you out there with shipping and order problems... how often are you all ordering? I have saved hundreds if not thousands using rock auto... even with the few issues I've had... is autozone out...

Return options

5d ago

Half rant have genuine question. So Im working on my buddies truck he's got a Ford f150, I thought he needed new coils. Come to find out he blew out 4 cylinders worth of piston rings. There's 0 compression on the whole drivers side. Anyway I get a pack of coils from autozone and open the box and realise they sold me the ones for a 5.0, im working on the 6.2. I set them back in my truck to take back later and finish up what im doing and break the bad news to my buddy. I go to return the coils back to autozone. Everything's still in the box and little bubble packs they came in except the one I pulled to compare. The lady at the counter tells me they cant take it as a return ...

Local Artist/Maker shops near downtown and uptown?

5d ago

This Sunday around noon I’m dropping my husband off at AutoZone park and then going uptown to Cozy Corner for lunch. I’m not from the area and I’ll only be there for a few hours. I’d love to stop into a store that sells some cool locally-made stuff, especially from artists or craftspeople. I really appreciate any recommendations!

1999 Ford Taurus SE Interment Starting issue. 140k miles

5d ago

Last week I rented a car for a day trip and left my Taurus parked in the rental company’s lot overnight. The next day when I picked it up, it started fine. I ran a few errands — grocery store, my mom’s place, and grabbed a quick bite to eat. Each time I turned the car off and started it again, it seemed like it was taking longer and longer to start. It started to worry me, so I stopped by AutoZone and had them test the battery and alternator. Both tests passed and they said everything looked fine. At the time I figured maybe the battery had drained a bit and the short trips weren’t giving it enough time to recharge. Fast forward about a week. I walk out to my car after work and tu...

Bad Battery or Bad Repair?

5d ago

I have a 2013 Nissan Altima, 4 cylinder automatic with 160,000 miles. I've had it for three years now and haven't had any problems with the engine. On my way home today, I stopped at a store, and when I got in my car to leave, the engine wouldn't start. When I pushed the starter button, the dashboard flashed on for an instant and then went dark, and after that I couldn't get any reaction out of it. I called for roadside assistance and got a jumpstart no problem, but when the engine came back on, the trip odometer had reset and the dashboard settings were back to factory default. I let the car idle for five minutes, then drove home (about a 20 minute drive). When I got...

Downstream oxygen sensor

6d ago

So quick question for everyone. Today I got a new Walker Products 350-34039 downstream Oxygen Sensor 4-Wire Direct Fit from Amazon. I went and put it in and everything fit and worked fine. I then went to the store quick and the check engine light came on saying P1E09 and that it was stored. My question is to everyone that has a Jeep 2016 patriot latitude is anyone having this problem and will this go away? I am going to Autozone to get a new oxygen sensor tomorrow afternoon.

2024 Crosstrek battery replaced, bracket issues, & loose negative battery terminal. Sort of fixed. Be aware...

6d ago

I guess this has been a common issue with newer Subaru owners. The battery died in our 24 Crosstrek, and I bought a replacement battery from Autozone. The positive terminal fit nice and tight, but the negative was very loose no matter how much I (over) tightened it. I ended up making a shim out of some sheet metal I had, to get it to tighten properly. The battery shims sold in stores are way too thick. I only needed a thin shim to get the clamp to tighten. This is not exclusive to Autozone batteries. From what I can tell it's an issue as the Subaru battery clamp has very little adjustability. Also the battery bracket won't fit at all as the Subaru battery has an unusual design on ...

'01 Silverado 5.3 Vortec V8 went dead.

6d ago

So for starters, I went to get grocery it started and everything was fine when came out of the store put key in ignition lights came on and went to crank and lights off and stayed off . Tried Jumpstarting it light came on but same issue no crank. It has a new battery put in in January, and to be safe went to autozone to get it tested battery was fine so I thought it was the alternator and changed it but it didn't fix the issue. However this time when I went to jump start it lights came on and it cranked with that I managed to drive it to the house. On the way home ABS, Parking break, Airbag and other servuce lights came on but flickered on and off. When i turned if off and tried to cran...

The Sum of All Fears: Hardtop Convertible Freezes Halfway When Closing

7d ago

\*\*\* UPDATE 3/5 \*\*\* Sadly, none on eBay with my part number - thus $2,400 is the cheapest one I can find (but it is new.) That makes this a much more expensive endeavor, ugh. I'm dropping the car off at Willow Grove Auto Top on Monday to get a 2nd opinion (they have experience with these cars and have 2 in the shop currently from Infiniti dealers.) I'll be at $750 in diagnostic fees alone but whatever, I want to be sure before proceeding. Also going to do the battery (a long shot, I know) and replace it with an AGM battery just in case voltage/amps are fluctuating while the top is actively in use (didn't test that part yet.) \*\*\* UPDATE 3/4 \*\*\* Unbelievably, the man...

Binding Hardware

7d ago

Did you know that your binding hardware is the same size as the bolts that hold your car battery terminals on? I snapped one of my battery terminal bolts(my truck is old, it's cold out, and my battery was dead so I ubered to autozone and back ) and I searched my apartment far and wide and found one replacement... Anyway I'm going to the store in the morning, but, felt like the right place to post this snowboarding adjacent situation I got myself into temporarily, in case someone runs into the very odd same situation 🤣

Getting my new $800 740 Turbo 4 speed running

8d ago

Hello Volvo subreddit! I just bought a non-running 87 740 Turbo 4 speed sedan yesterday for $800. I haven't trailered the car home yet, but I will make another post with pics ASAP. I'm so excited for this car. It's my first 80's turbo car and my first Volvo. I typically flip enthusiast cars, but I have already decided that I will be keeping this unit for my personal project and daily as I can already feel the fact that I am a clapped out turbo Volvo guy deep down. So getting it running. It needs fuel. It ran with brake clean smoothly on all 4 cylinders so it has spark and compression. Tank had gas in it and I am 90% sure that I heard the high pressure pump run but no...
