How do I say "House" in Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish? → It’s Hus, Hus, and Hus. How about "Apple" in German, Dutch, and Norwegian? → Apfel, Appel, and Eple. What about "Brother" in German, Dutch, and Swedish? → Bruder, Broer, and Bror. Hi everyone, I’m a programmer and a lifelong language learner. Over the years, I realized that the most efficient way to learn is by language families. For me, learning German first made Dutch much more intuitive, and establishing a base in Norwegian made Swedish feel like a natural extension rather than a new chore. I got tired of modern apps that feel like digital casinos with their "streaks," gems, an...

Seattle, WA- Tenants Rights– Townhouse rented as 3 bed/3 bath but one bedroom has no heat + plumbing leaks caused $160...

Hi everyone, looking for advice regarding tenant rights in location: Seattle, Washington. My partner and I rent a townhouse that was advertised and leased to us as a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home for $3,650/month. One bedroom and bathroom are on the ground/basement level, with the other two upstairs. One major issue is that the ground floor bedroom has no permanent heat source (no vent, baseboard heater, etc.). When we asked the landlord about it, he acknowledged there was no heat and suggested we use a space heater. Because of this, we’ve had to run space heaters in the downstairs room (which we use as an office) and the downstairs bathroom. After reviewing our electricity usage, the spac...

New Apple Air case

6m ago

Stopped in at Best Buy to return something and went back to look at some watch bands and came across this case which was marked down to $24.95 brand new never opened compared to $49.95 at the Apple Store, pretty good if you ask me. Btw this is the Smokey Black color. They had the regular clear but that was $40.

Staff/Store notable experiences

15m ago

Had an awesome overall experience at the snow peak Portland location. Malique was beyond educated on the brand and product, especially with the apparel specifically. Him along with the rest of the staff shared some stories about some of the customers who are regulars at the store and spoke very highly of them and the community around the brand. I was curious if anyone else had some exciting, funny or notable experiences at the store.

Feature Deep-Dive: How the Memory System Makes Your Coach Smarter Over Time

Feature Deep-Dive: How the Memory System Makes Your Coach Smarter Over Time One of the things I'm most proud of building in Cue is the Memory system - and I think it's the most underrated feature in the app. Here's the idea: as you chat with your AI coach, it can pick up on things you share and save them. Say "I'm vegetarian" once, and Cue remembers. Mention "I work from 10 to 6" and that gets stored. Next time you ask for help planning your day, the coach already knows your schedule. **7 memory categories:** - **Preferences** - "I prefer morning workouts", "I like short tasks" - **Constraints** - "I can't work after 7...

Itching to upgrade but Must. Be. Sensible.

I'm not going to bore everyone with what has now become the cliche "My M1 Pro still runs like a dream" speech but mine still does what it says on the label and the condition is pretty good too. That being said, I've had it for almost 5 years now and I'm missing that new laptop feeling. The initial boot up, spending an evening customising it, testing new apps on the lighting fast machine etc. I was on the Apple Store earlier, put together an M5 MacBook Air, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 3 years Apple Care+, and almost hit the order button but I came to my senses. I'll go another year, watching through the window blinds while everyone unwraps their shiny new toy. I'm...

Android device, Account doesn't exist?!

18m ago

It lets me log into the account, I've reset my password multiple times. My account got locked overnight because I guess someone figured out the password and tried changing it. Reddit detected suspicious activity so it keeps saying to reset the password. I've done it 3 times and every time I go to my account settings after, try to click on anything and it pops up that I must change the password. The issue is whenever I click change password it pops this up. Please help, I don't want to lose everything on that account.

1 month after launching my first app: 1000 users, $30 revenue, and a lot learned

19m ago

Hi everyone! About a month ago I launched **Kesef**, a simple expense tracker I built because most finance apps felt too complicated or overwhelming. I wanted something **fast, clean, and actually pleasant to use daily**. I’m building it as a solo developer and sharing the journey publicly, so I wanted to share the first month numbers. **Month 1 stats:** • \~13,000 App Store impressions • \~2,600 product page views • \~1,000 downloads • \~11.9% conversion rate • \~$30 revenue Nothing crazy yet, but seeing people actually download and use something I built has been amazing. The most rewarding part so far has been **user feedback**. Many people told me this is the f...

i got my battery replaced not too long ago at the Apple Store (around 1 month ago), and was wondering if I should update my phone? it’s running on 18.7.3 right now, I have around 40 gb of storage left. main concern is that the overall performance is slow and phone will heat up. I know this is a frequent question, I just want to know yes or no, and why specifically.

Hi everyone! About a month ago I launched **Kesef**, a simple expense tracker I built because most finance apps felt too complex or overwhelming. The idea was simple: something fast, clean, and actually pleasant to use every day. In the first month the results honestly surprised me: • \~13k App Store impressions • \~2.6k product page views • \~1,000 downloads • \~12% conversion rate • \~$30 revenue so far Maybe not huge numbers, but for a small indie project I'm really happy with the start! Former Blizzard lead designer Erich Schaefer, who was there at the origins of Diablo and Diablo 2, has honestly admitted: a game of that scale and longevity will likely never appear again. This revelation came during an interview with Path of Exile co-creator Chris Wilson – and it's all the more notable given that Schaefer is currently working on [Darkhaven](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3571870/Darkhaven/), a new action game from studio Moon Beast Productions, which he founded alongside other Blizzard veterans. >In a way, that's been my whole career – I've always been chasing Diablo 2. At some point, I gave up, switched to space games, and told myself: "...
